This game was a very interesting take! I enjoyed the actual intense feeling I got while playing it. It was difficult to understand how to play at first, but I loved the exploration and tunnels aspect! Sometimes I discovered that the rats were on top of each other, rather than all running towards me
I really enjoyed playing this game, shooting the rats was surprisingly satisfying. I also loved the idea of shooting sunflower seeds. :D I think it could have been a bit longer with larger waves of enemies.
The game was suprisingly very fun and cool! The gameplay is smooth and polished, it feels good to kill some rats. I love the sound design and the pick up animation. Good job guys <3
It was interesting, though I got lost a lot haha!
Great game!
That was really cool ! I don't know why I thought they whould eat my food but no lol, I am the food ! Ngl I had some jumpscare in the 100 room
Well done! It was cool to explore this galleries. It took me some time to figure out that this horible nois was my heart, but anyway it was accelarating mine too
Tha...that..not...hamster..omg..that..rat! :D interesting and great game
The sound of the approaching hamsters is terrifying ngl The game can get pretty intense, but its fun to see the hamsters vanishing after just one hit :D
Great game! I was so scared there was going to be a mother rat fight.
This was a pretty fun game to play. I have to say, I found myself feeling the urgency to just rush through and grab as many seeds as I could. The original Wolfenstein feel is pretty fun because you're a hamster.
Was not too challenging, but was enjoyable overall.
I do think making combat a little more difficult could enhance the experience.
I don't know what I expected when I clicked this, but it wasn't this! I thought it was just OK at first, but as I kept playing, I found plenty of things to appreciate.
Here are the things I think you got right: * Checkpoints. You didn't punish the player too much for running out of lives, like having them completely restart the game. * Multiple hidden areas, where I thought "I already explored this!" but kept finding new corners. There was even a point I think you spawned rats behind me! * You definitely placed enemies intelligently, to make it more of a challenge.
Here are where I think you will improve: * The sound effects needed some balancing. They got repetitive pretty quickly, and I had to turn down my sound. * The movement was faster than it maybe needed to be, but it did help me get around quicker! * The shooting wasn't too much of a challenge, since it was a straight shot to wherever my cursor was.
That said, I did manage to "die" a couple of times because I didn't check the corners well enough! Good job team!
This game subverted my expectations! I had a lot of fun with it. I wasn't expecting the cool "use your ammo to progress" mechanic and I think it's really cool. I got a little lost at times, so maybe some more landmarks in the hallways could help. It felt really claustrophobic, which I liked! Nice work all!
Awesome!! Those rats were quite terrifying - definite nightmare fuel - in the best way possible. Controls and combat were simple but really well executed, and I really liked the low res underground textures with the roots sticking out the walls.
A fun game. The roots were a good idea to make the world more visually interesting. The tunnels were a decent maze without being too confusing, and the enemy placement was good. The rat running sound could do with some attenuation and direction so you can better hear them approaching from behind. In my first playthrough it was constantly playing from a rat stuck behind the closed 100 door. It one didn't happen when I ran through it again though. I also didn't realise at first you get your seeds back after firing them.
fun game....nice game elements we too took similar concept with (rats)....
I played this with my 3yo daughter who liked the "scary rats", they were just a little scary :) I like the simple mechanic with the door unlocking. Nicely little basic maze game.
This is what I've always feard the labyrinth from the screensaver of Windows 95-98 could become. But, anyway, good job. It's a simple concept, but it's funny to play.
@better-half lol, it also reminded me the win95 screensaver
I had to return to your game because my kid wanted to play 'scary rats' again so much :D
This game is quite scary the way the rats moves and their faces are terrifying! The sounds sound really good and add to it quite a lot. The Piling of the seeds is quite neat! I beat the game without getting hit!
@pcmaster That is so cute! Thanks for sharing this :D
So fun! Like rat DOOM. I loved the graphics. It felt super nice and I especially liked level 100. Just wish there were even more rats >:) I also liked how sweet it was to the gamer -- you can't waste ammo! One tiny gripe is that I couldn't read how many seeds were deposited on the pallet after ~185 since they blocked the floating count number. It also took me a while to figure out how to open the doors initially, lol -- assuming this is intentional, but I felt like a fool hehe
Guys, you won't believe this but since LD52, we've played your game at least 10 more times  It's by far the most played videogame in our household, congratz again :D
@pcmaster Thank you, we are glad to hear that.
