Wow, I'm so happy I picked your game as my first one this LD, as it just simply is outstanding in every category!
While a bit hard until you get a grasp on the mechanics, I never felt overwhelmed or like the game treated me unfairly. What I especially love is the very particular marriage between puzzle and time-critical execution-optimization the game went for, as the fact you know how do solve a screen kept me going until I got the execution right.
So it was extremely fun and very fulfilling to see the ending screen.
The score is Zen-enough to never really get in the way of concentrating, the Assets are, as with all of your games I played, simply beautiful.
Yeah, I'm very happy to have an absolute favourite right at the start of the Play+Rate :D
Phenomenal work!

P.S.: I called myself 'key' because I was lost at the start until I read the instructions a second time over :face_palm:

If Ribbon was too short then Ramnesia just kept on giving. I have played 1 game this event and I already have a winner.

pretty clever mechanic to have the variables exposed and editable.

I got stuck in the second stage, and for some reason i kept dying. Really great mechanic to forget things. The music and the art are fantastic. Great work!

This is just a straight up fantastic game. When I finished the more difficult puzzles I really did get a huge sense of satisfaction. The mechanics are on point, level design is pretty much perfect. Not to mention the art, music and sound effects which are also outstanding. My one and only complaint is that there should be some kind of way to see the controls in game. It took me a long time to understand how to pick up stuff.
In any case this one of the most creative and well executed games I've played lately, game jam or not.

Dude that's a crazy game. How do you come up with ideas like this one in 48 hours and implement it so well?
Visuals and music are very good and look perfectly consistent. You create stuff that is commercial material in such a short amount of time.
Only thing is about the theme, I don't get this "deeper and deeper" feeling. Like you have amnesia and that's it, it's not getting worse.
Congrats on your game, I'm sure it will add new impresive grades to your list! It is from me in any case!

Awesome game! Outstanding in every aspect! Puzzles are good and satisfying, mechanics are fun, graphics, story and sounds are very fitting and good. Would love to see hotkeys for resetting variables and tutorial for picking things up, didn't understand how to pickup keys until i've read controls on game's page. But that's just small QoL things. Good job!
I loved mechanics! Simple but some good ksks
Wow, this was impressive. Great concept, art, audio. I've never played anything quite like it, and it was quite fun. My only quibble about this is not being able to use the arrow keys, which is my preference. Anyway great game, my favorite so far.

Wow, crazy concept you got here! Very well executed and made for some impressive puzzles, alongside a nice audio and great graphics.
I did have a few hiccups with the WASD control scheme being an AZERTY user, and it was sometimes frustrating to lose the items because you picked it a bit too early.
But otherwise, a fantastic entry for sure. Congrats!

Took me a while to get the kaizo-esc block jump because im bad and kept running out of time. Great Idea i just wish there was a bit longer timer on everything before it reset you especially with you being able to reset yourself by clicking the buttons. Untitled.png

Love the art style. The core mechanics of the game were unique and interesting, but the timers made it a bit frustrating at times.

the mechanic is pretty good, just hard to get into. having more information on how to play the game being conveyed to the player in the game would be needed for a mechanic like this. once i realized how the mechanic worked and how the game works the game was pretty fun. but the game being hard to get into in the begining may be a bit off putting to some ppl. i would have one level where you hold ppls hands and teach them the mechanic and all the controls. other then that this is a really cool game and mechanic. nice job!

Really nice! Unfortunately I think my laptop was not great at running the game, and so sometimes inputs would be a bit sticky, especially after I picked up or reset something, making timing (especially the last one with 10 keys) very hard. I was able to beat in 30:47.1 min. Though I might have cheated at the first block puzzle, something happened when I made the key into a block and looked into the mirror, I reset very high and then fell through the level. As I was infinitely falling I was able the skip the next level and reset at the last level, and was able to beat the game that way. Anyway nice job!
Fantastic game! Took me a minute to understand the mechanic but once I did it became a very fun puzzle game. Super unique and innovative mechanic and well made all around. Great audio, graphics, gameplay. Can't believe you made this in 48 hours! Well done indeed. :)
"You win. Great job, penis" XD
Took me 18 minutes but I made it. There was so much to process at once I think my head was close to frying under the pressure but I prevailed! :D Fun game and considering it's a compo, I am super impressed with the overall package; the visuals, music and sound is very well done, just like your last game <3

Wow, you're really good at creating mind-breaking puzzles! Very clever and original game mechanic. Lots of level content and you even managed to create some awesome art and sound to keep the mood. Really impressive! I also see that you had to cut some corners like tutorial/controls and ability to go back to menu. One of the important ones for me would be being able to see the number of levels and to switch to the next one if you're stuck. So there is some space to improve on the player experience. Other than that, amazing game that feels a lot more than just a jam game. Great job!
Dang, I wish my friend was good enough at platformers to play this game to its end. I only got to see a few levels before the frustration became too much for my buddy and he had to stop, but if I was still able to play games I would have absolutely adored these kinds of puzzles. I was able to put together what needed to be done and was getting really excited by the puzzle design. Maybe if the timers weren't quite so short, or if there was an "I'm baby" mode that set their clocks to 5 or 7 seconds to make it more about the player manually triggering the resets then it would have been more accessible to folks less savvy with platformers.
Overall it was a really awesome and innovative game with amazing graphics and solid audio/mood. Sadly we didn't really get far enough to see if "Deeper and deeper" played out at all, as in the first few levels it really doesn't seem to come into play at all.
The puzzles were honestly so fun and interesting. I really did love what little I saw, and wish I could have seen more. Marks for improvement would be that the music, while thematically repetitive to fit within the whole "3 seconds" idea, could have had a little more variation in its loop to keep from getting old too quickly. That and having a mode to make the game more accessible would have been perfect.

As many have said, outstanding work, and really impressive graphics that stand out as much as the puzzly mechanics. Ended up spending way more time playing than I usually tend to during rating binges, and I think that says a lot about how compelling it is as a game entry. Great work!
Ahhh.... This game is amazing. I love it! You're the guy! O__O!
How did you do all that amazing art/animations in only two days? I love the puzzle aspect. This is SUCH a good game.
This might sound like a weird comment, but would you be interested in showing me your workflow in setting up your projects by any chance? I feel like it would bring me a lot of satisfaction in being able to achieve this kind of art form. I'll totally pay you money for this. You'll basically be my "Professor 100th-coin" for one hour. It would really mean a lot to me. Many thanks in advance.
@stephenwhoskins Oh wow, I'd do it for free, ha! Hit me up on discord 100th_Coin#4059
@100th-coin Woo hoo! Thaaaaaank you! I'm at work right now, but I'll hit you up once I'm done with that. Thanks again! =)

Amazing. Crazy stuff. This gameplay should deserve an non-jam development (some thing like baba is you). The 3 seconds timeout is maybe a be short. You made a great game neverless. thank you
Very unique and interesting concept of erasing the actual memory! Nice level design using the reversal to the original variable value. But on the level that needed 10 coins, I resetted the Y value and I fell into an abyss. I could walk in the X direction, so I managed to pass many levels while standing on the -500 Y hahaha. But eventually I reached the end and it got very bizarre. Anyways, it was definitely a unique experience!

This is a great mechanic. Everything fits together really well. I really like how fast it resets after mistakes.
This was brilliant! I absolutely loved the music and sound fx playing with each other. It's difficult enough that solving puzzles is really satisfying. It's one thing to realize how to beat a level, but actually pulling it off feels good.
I played this on stream! I found it a little confusing at first, but once I got the hang of it it was a super interesting puzzle game! I wish it moved a little bit slower, but that's a small gripe.
I will note that the UI seemed a bit bugged on my monitor, you can see it in the vod here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1007338673
If it helps, I was playing on a 2k monitor, so that could have been the problem.
Really fun and interesting mechanic. I like the potential for finding unintended solutions with this mechanic if you're skilled enough.

Oh this is a speed run? Oh it's on... :smiling_imp:
speedrun.png
The first playthrough I've missed the label chest completely, so that's the reason there isn't any name. The customisation is a great touch.
The movement feels a little like the acceleration to top speed is too slow, in my opinion.
Graphic style is fitting the genre and feels really nice. How did you make the black fuzzy halo in the menu screen, I'm curious?
Audio puts the whole thing together. Nice job there. The P-block music was a good idea, it connected with me instantly.
Simply put: this is a very innovative and fun game. I've played it 6 times (I was aiming at sub-2 minutes, but I think that sub-1 minute is possible. What is your best score?)

It was a game of new vibes. The interface was difficult. But it was an interesting experience.
No joke, one of the best mechanics I've seen in the 9 Ludum Dares I've attended. I don't think I've ever seen anything like it. Very very cool!
Truly superb mechanic here. I didn't know what was going on with the variables at first because I didn't read the beginning of the description hahah
The mechanic execution of the puzzles gets more difficult than working out how to solve them, so maybe slightly longer timers on the variables for breathing room would be good. Love the backgrounds as well. Excellent job!

You did it again my friend
I completed it first time I played it in about 15 minutes. I can't for the life of me recall how I completed the 6th level.
Awesome great looking fun entry with a very interesting mechanic, and great sound and mood. Too bad we didn't get to hang out more in the voice chat this LD. I hope this was't the last compo.
Anyway, well done and awesome job. Hope to see you again next LD m8
Very cool and unique concept! The puzzles are easy to figure out but daaaamn are they hard to perform (I was never good at timed stuff, being not-in-a-hurry is my nature ).
Music is adorable and graphics are also very nice! Everything feels polished, and I didn't meet any bugs. Really nice piece of a combo game. Impressive work!
I had a bit of a display issue - the game automatically goes to full screen but the left and right edges of the screen are cut off. Like so:
Screenshot_2.jpg
Tough game! I didn't realize I could use the mouse until after I was done and re-read the entry. I definitely suggest putting controls in the game, like a quick tutorial level. It definitely helps from what we've found in the past!
Other than that it was a very interesting concept. Took me quite some time to get the timing right on some of the puzzles. I was able to eventually jump out of bounds I think and it wouldn't reset me after that haha. I enjoyed it for sure. Good job!
That ending was so beautiful, it gave me goosebumbs. After this hectic and brain wrecking battle it felt so nice to enter this beautiful landscape being rewarded by hearing your name and remembering that you have sticked through with the challenge to the end! I wish I could walk around a bit in the last screen, the contrast to the rest of the game is just great. Although or maybe because the gameplay was a little hectic it was very tense and fun. Very challenging - the mechanic was so genious that I wanted to keep at it and beat this game, which made the ending more rewarding. The music was nice and the change in it after pressing the P switch was a nice touch. Art is amazing! Controls could be a liittle bit less floaty, but that's the only thing I can critisize and it wasn't a problem at all. Very impressive for creating this game in a compo jam!
Oh I just wondered, if you were the same person, that made the ribbon game from last jam, and I was surprised to be right :D I wonder if I recognized it because of the similar character or because of an iconic art style^^
Aand now I noticed, that you can click on variables to clear them xD well I read it but I forgot it, would have made the game slightly easier for me, but thats fine^^ I guess you can play it that way if you want to have a challenge.
Speedrun Time: 12:36.66 (did one run)
One last thing: After getting back to the end screen right now... That music is so heartwarming. What program did you use to make the music? :D

This is a great experience, very polished and complete with amazing art. I'm very impressed that it's a compo entry! The puzzle mechanic was definitely a bit hard to figure out, but as many have pointed out, it just goes to show how unusual and creative it is. If you're looking to keep working on it post-jam, I think an in-game tutorial explaining the mechanics and controls might be necessary as the game goes way off the beaten path.
I also experienced the cropped screen issue on my Dell Inspiron 15 gaming notebook with a FullHD display running on GeForce 1050Ti, hope this info helps you figure out how to tackle the issue.
Awesome game, congratulations! :trophy:
Very clever idea and smart level design! How you managed this for Compo I will never understand. Great job
@bytinggames I compose my music in LMMS. And thanks for all the kind words!
Hello,
Just to warn you that your game was reuploaded here: https://threadloop.itch.io/amnesia-0
They also reuploaded one of my game to submit it in jams with cash prize. So I checked "their" other games to see if they were also stolen. And sure enough they are.
Oh yikes, thanks for the heads up. The same thing happened last November with my LD51 submission.
