LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Resist and Persist by conrad123 2018-12-08T18:07:17Z

Interesting, I also made a top-down shooter ;) Graphics are nice and with a lot of detail, I liked the trail effects. I found it a bit confusing initially, since the game is fast-paced with things happening off-screen. Sacrificing planets is definitely an interesting approach to the theme. Good job :)

Of a Feather by scarfdev 2018-12-03T03:48:12Z

Cute :) Graphics are simple but work well, I really liked the animations and bird expressions. However, at a certain point I couldn't advance. I'm not sure why, since I had 3 birds pass to the next screen, but it didn't scroll. Sometimes it was a bit unclear what I was supposed to do. Anyway, great job, it was fun.

Defuse by Andrew Garcia 2018-12-03T16:47:33Z

Smart idea for the theme, and a great puzzle game. Unfortunately in the "level" where the numpad appears for the first time, when I used it the game returned to the main menu and I wasn't even able to restart.

The Life of a Corporate Drone by Slashee the Cow 2018-12-09T15:10:41Z

I really like this idea! I found it interesting/funny how it seems that it's possible to keep everything up without sacrificing anything at the beginning, but then you see that it's just not possible, like in real life :) There is a lot of room to extend things further, such as having the "corporate drone" take time walking from one place to another, and having sleep affect the walking speed. Was fun nonetheless, well done!

Scientific Sacrifice by kippllo 2018-12-03T18:42:50Z

It was great fun to see what the characters would say after the various, ahem, contributions to science. Played it twice, was interesting to see the different dialogues.

JUICY SACRIFICES by Duck_Games 2018-12-03T19:26:49Z

Fun game, cute graphics :) I enjoyed trying out the different abilities of the different fruit, and liked the idea of the cat at the end.

Downgrade by Vasco Freitas 2018-12-03T05:00:13Z

@nick-rafalski That's a shame, there's supposed to be a final dialogue at the end. Anyway glad you had fun! :)

Downgrade by Vasco Freitas 2018-12-03T15:47:39Z

@justalocalhero @mcovert Sorry about the dialog slowness and lack of skip; it was the last feature I added and without much time to tweak I preferred to err on the side of caution and be sure there was enough time to read it. Glad you enjoyed the game!

Downgrade by Vasco Freitas 2018-12-05T14:03:49Z

@kippllo Haha awesome, I'm glad you liked it :) Maybe I will make a full version, since I'm really happy with how this turned out and would like to do more. Thank you!

Downgrade by Vasco Freitas 2018-12-05T16:19:30Z

@owen-rees Thanks! Yeah, I imagine it's a bit too easy for experienced shooter players; I tried to strike a balance so it's not too hard nor too easy for most people.

Downgrade by Vasco Freitas 2018-12-05T16:23:10Z

@alec For indication of progress I wanted to put a bar indicating how much "energy" the ship has left, and when the next downgrade would be, but didn't have enough time :( Thanks!

Sacrifice for the zone by theBOSS12 2018-12-03T16:04:05Z

Simple but pretty fun! Physics work well. I got 108 points :)

One Life by artbohr 2018-12-03T16:17:37Z

Great idea for the theme. I think I would prefer to read the letter once beforehand, and then have 60 seconds total to choose who to kill, but it was still fun :)

the big bad burger (browser playable) by nik2434 2018-12-03T17:02:59Z

While he's running from the hamburger he's also getting exercise, so I guess it's a win-win! It's funny when the burger catches him :) Nice job.

Appease the Gods by Fernando Tonon de Rossi 2018-12-03T16:54:45Z

Good job for just 5 hours, funny idea :)

Temple of the Blood God by ZanyG 2018-12-03T03:37:47Z

Nice idea for the theme, graphics look good and thought seems to have been put into the puzzles. Unfortunately (maybe because I just finished the compo and am in dire need of sleep), I found it a bit frustrating to control. The movement of the characters seemed inconsistent, and the puzzles quite hard. I got stuck for around 5 minutes on the second one (I think), and gave up on the one with 2 buttons to push. I'll probably give it another go tomorrow. Great job!

thacrifaazth by s4m4di 2018-12-03T16:31:01Z

I was a bit confused at the main menu for a minute; I thought the play button was a link to your site or something :) I can see effort was put into the music, it sounds great! The sound effects are a bit loud in comparison, though. Cool idea for the theme, although the gameplay seems too fast for a click and drag mechanic; it was a bit confusing. The game hanged when I died in the second level.

Total Flight by IMDagger 2018-12-08T14:45:27Z

Nice idea. Unfortunately I'm not sure if I figured out how to play. It's a bit unclear what constitutes a neighbor. When I get to the level with more passengers, it shows "Done: 12/12" and even "Done: 13/12", but the level doesn't end.

DEATH GUN by Flat-Anchor 2018-12-03T18:25:35Z

Cool game, I really liked how it slows down when throwing a weapon. I found it strange at first not to be able to rotate the camera, but then got more used to it.

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Fishery by recursor 2021-04-28T22:39:25Z

Really cool how you mixed a platformer with a fishing game, without having a separate "fishing mode". It was also longer than I was expecting, it's very complete. My fishing rod/hook would sometimes get stuck in walls, but it was just a minor annoyance. I also liked the character's animation, and the graphics are more than adequate. I had a lot of fun with this one. Well done!

The Limbo Runner by jk5000 2021-04-28T14:27:18Z

Really original idea for the theme! I like how you have to balance the timing of when to start pressing space, put not press too much to avoid slowing down or falling. Quite challenging. I wish it were a bit easier to see if I was low enough to pass, but I get that in 3D that's not easy. The commentary was fun and makes the game much more engaging. Well done!

Tension by JustinMullin 2021-04-26T15:51:42Z

The controls felt a tad confusing and slow to execute, I would prefer for the grappling hook to always extend to max length, or a least be quicker to extend. But maybe that's me. Nice mood and audio.

Treasurebot - Gem Collector by Jerm 2021-05-02T02:42:40Z

I like how you need to have precise timing but also plan your trajectory well. Some acceleration in the movement (just a little) would probably make this more fun to control, instead of the bot instantly gaining a lot of speed. The level is quite big, if it were broken down into levels, with the first ones very simple and then gradually bigger, it would feel more manageable. The graphics are pleasing and you did a good choice of sound effects. Nice job.

Fallen Shovel by silkworm_sweatshop 2021-04-28T18:31:11Z

Really good game overall, one of my favorites this LD. Simple but attractive and original art style, great level design, control, music fits well, and very complete. Feels like a mix of Shovel Knight with Downwell. I like how there was a dollar sign that seems collectable in the greed level but maybe actually wasn't? It made me feel greedy but then I gave up. Well done!

"Say Aaaah...!" by gilborn 2021-04-27T23:54:29Z

This was actually pretty cool, and very fun. I've not seen anything like it. My cleaner got stuck once, I'm not sure why. I like how the infected area spreads and you desperately try to fix one area while the other's getting worse. Also really funny when the guy moans when you drill his mouth :D Well done!

RAMnesia by 100th_Coin 2021-04-27T16:46:44Z

Wow, this was impressive. Great concept, art, audio. I've never played anything quite like it, and it was quite fun. My only quibble about this is not being able to use the arrow keys, which is my preference. Anyway great game, my favorite so far.

Robo Delve by Thalikoth 2021-05-01T03:27:21Z

Nice, I love me some Battletoads :D Like others have said, I think the main thing to improve is that the robot takes too much time to react, it feels too heavy. Other than that, it's a great idea that with a few improvements could be very fun. Congrats!

Grotto Down by xtacobaco 2021-04-26T15:24:18Z

Very cool, I loved the graphics and the new take on Downwell. However I thought it was a bit too easy, since you gain health by killing enemies.

Stabalot by bw_devel 2021-04-26T18:15:08Z

I was certainly an original take on the theme. It took a bit for me to realize that the arrow keys were moving the empty space up and down, it was actually quite fun after I realized that. It could be nice if there were a bit more to the initial fight, like jumping to avoid projectiles. Anyway it's great as it is, well done.

Square Diver by FussenKuh 2021-04-26T21:06:41Z

Wow, this is better than most games I've tried so far, and made in only 4 hours! It's very simple but well done. The control feels perfect to me, just the right amount of acceleration. The graphic style is also good, a nice choice of colors and I like how it seems you're rotating around a cylinder. One thing that I found unclear is when you die, the first times I didn't realize I was already dead until I burst into particles. Still, well done!

Miner Rescue by Vasco Freitas 2021-04-26T20:11:56Z

Spoiler below, regarding the green text.

!> @onnofal I wouldn't normally have made the intro text as long, but then I had the idea of incorporating all of the final voting themes in the text, since many of them seemed to appear naturally. Should have probably made it simpler though, especially since nobody seems to be noticing, haha.

And yeah, the ship control takes some getting used to, it is inspired by games such as Sub-Terrania which had the same control scheme and were notoriously difficult.

Also thanks for the feedback @nisovin @cammin @cody-miner @oeschmid , much appreciated.

Miner Rescue by Vasco Freitas 2021-04-26T20:23:39Z

@onnofal Yeah I wasn't sure if I should've mentioned it, I included a spoiler warning and tag :)

Aqua Snap! by Roboimuri 2021-04-26T19:22:09Z

Very relaxing, the sound design works well and I liked how the pictures appears in the end :) Since the instructions said to press the mouse button to dive, I understood that I had to keep holding it, but then I saw that was just to rotate the light source. It would be nice to know when I reached the bottom of the sea, I kept going down for a while, until all that kept appearing were angular fish. If the fish could damage your vehicle, that could also make the game more interesting. Nevertheless it was enjoyable, well done!

Dwarf Bros by Kurama_Youko 2021-04-27T20:08:32Z

Very nice change from the more typical digging game, to have the NPC digging sideways for you. When I tried the game in Firefox, it was not scaled up to fit the game area, and was slow. Then I tried in Chrome and it worked fine.

The game overall is pretty solid, I think the main improvement that could be made would be to have a bit more variety, such as bombs you could collect and use. After the first 8 or so floors it started to feel like more of the same. Regardless it was fun, well done!

A Shallow Dive by onnofal 2021-04-26T18:28:04Z

The art is really great, appealing and complete. Nice touch having the letters LD blink :) At first I thought the game wasn't working, I pressed arrow keys and nothing happened (must have pressed them all expect down...) Really nice how you took a well known game mechanic and changed it with the harpoon and different theme. Well done!

Drop n Grab by samguy 2021-04-26T20:41:49Z

I like the simplicity of it! The physics felt a bit strange, but I did get the hang of running into the bottom corners to go further down :) Nice job.

Into The Depths by Nisovin 2021-04-26T03:13:18Z

I really like how the walls are destructible, and the way you integrated that in the gameplay with the various powerups. Very cool! I agree with the previous comment in that the initial part could go by quicker since there's not much to do. Great idea nonetheless.

Just Dig by TwoWolf 2021-04-28T14:48:13Z

This was fun! It felt too slow at first, but then I bought some powerups and the pace quickly picked up. I just wish there were more powerup levels, with a more gradual progression. I got them all very quickly. Also, sometimes the camera would get stuck on the right side, and I lost the powerup that allowed me to dig rock. Otherwise a great game with really good presentation. Well done!

Dating and Boxing by Phoenix Fireflower 2021-05-10T19:01:59Z

I'm a fan of Punch-Out games, so this was a real treat. I like how you replicated a lot of the Punch-Out gameplay, such as how you can tell she's about to punch, getting stunned, etc. Sometimes it didn't feel exactly right, maybe due to an occasional lack of feedback when I missed a punch. But it was still pretty close. The story was funny and engaging. Well done!

Depths of the Mind by chris-mondok 2021-04-27T19:11:19Z

Wow this was really fun. The submarine control felt realistic, although I have no idea how an actual submarine is controlled haha. I was an interesting challenge to try to go as deep as I could to contemplate, while still having enough air to return.

At first I didn't realize there was a consequence for hitting the terrain, but then I noticed that the air depleted much more quickly after some hits. This is a great idea for gameplay, just maybe could have been made more clear. Also, the collision sound effect was a bit strange, sounded like banging pots :)

I also liked the way the depth was represented on the left side of the screen. All in a all a great game and use of theme, well done!

Elevator Ninja by Loig 2021-04-26T22:30:29Z

I guess I was expecting to control an actual ninja and that was a little disappointing, but overall a well done game :)

The difficulty was just right for me, I wasn't expecting there to be a second section so that was a nice surprise. The short story at the beginning was a nice intro and the music really helped create a light humorous vibe.

As for improvements the sound effects could have been better, the sound of the rocks hitting the platforms felt too loud and samey. Also, it would have been nice to see particle effects when the rocks break.

Was still a fun experience, thanks!

Elevator Ninja by Loig 2021-04-27T00:33:26Z

@loig I meant disappointment jokingly, but I see now, that makes sense :)

Well doing it with such a basic library makes it all the more impressive. I of course understand the time constraints, my suggestions were just what I felt would be the next things needing improvement.

So Deep in Space by KeyLime 2021-05-02T17:34:40Z

I really like the sound effects, they're different and make the game stand out without seeming out of place. It seems to be much more difficult in the first few seconds than later, so that's odd. Anyway it was fun and the sound is really great. Well done.

The Hidden Unknown by CubeX 2021-04-27T18:41:41Z

This is pretty cool and fun for a while, if there were more things to do (such as collect resources) I could see myself playing this for a long time. Sometimes I would put a wire and it wouldn't give me power, I'm not sure why. Definitely felt some sense of claustrophobia as I went "deeper and deeper" into the mine. Well done!

Pix'in' by DancesWE 2021-04-27T17:40:53Z

Very interesting visually, but a bit difficult to get the hang of the controls. I reached a part where I couldn't go any further, since a closed square appeared. Anyway great idea and very unique, well done!

Platforms Overlord by progdamn 2021-04-27T14:19:54Z

Nice idea, it is hard to click on the platforms quickly enough sometimes, but was still fun to play around with. I tried to go outside the outer walls, but then there was a red wall outside of those, whoops...

Be Queen by Cody Miner 2021-04-26T18:00:48Z

The simple battle mechanic was different and fun and I enjoyed exploring the maze to find the queen bee. I didn't understand though what is the meaning of the purple bar?

Vinewell by dpmzi 2021-04-26T18:47:14Z

Nice idea, balancing all the different aspects of the gameplay was quite fun! It took me a bit to realize how to sharpen the knife, since when I "attacked" the sides of the well I would lose sharpness. Then I noticed I just needed to touch the wall. It was also not very obvious what could hurt me. The graphics look great, I like the simple style. Well done.

Troublesome by Roboolet 2021-05-02T17:52:37Z

I like the style, it's a great choice of colors. It became a bit too easy to just drive back and forth and run guys over, maybe if cars took damage that would be improved. It would be nice to have a health bar to have some sense of how far I am from dying. Anyway great idea for the theme, I had fun. Well done.

Fall by Mika314 2021-04-28T20:50:57Z

It's a funny and original idea to throw the cat around to hit the mice and beats. Music was great. It would have been nice to have different rhythm patterns instead of focusing on the same constant beat. Also it felt a bit imprecise, which is contrary to the nature of most rhythm games, but on the other hand it's less stressful this way.

Yet Another Shmup by AssertFailure 2021-04-27T00:52:47Z

It's kind of hard to hit some enemies without taking damage since they have such a high rate of fire. I would suggest having them shoot much less frequently and increasing the difficulty by other means, such as increasing the number of enemies or making bullets take away more health.

Other than that it's a good basis for a shmup, I like how you limit how long you can shoot to give more meaning to the shoot button, and the ship designs and particles effects are great.

LD52 — Harvest

Hyper Harvest by orion-black 2023-01-09T01:35:46Z

Unfortunately the controls kept glitching on me, and I'd be unable to move down, sometimes, or up other times, after playing a little bit. I feel like too many key presses are needed to move around the board. Graphics are cute, the idea is original. I also thought of naming my game Hyper Harvest, lol. Nice work.

Edit: It was my keyboard/system that was glitching after all. Sorry!

Hyper Harvest by orion-black 2023-01-09T16:27:56Z

@orion-black Just want to let you know there wasn't an issue with your game after all, it was my system/keyboard that was randomly glitching!

🥕 Grow a Carrot! 🥕 by pauljs 2023-01-09T19:47:56Z

I think it would be hard to come up with a simpler but still interesting/funny idea. On one hand I don't want to keep the app open that long (I guess on mobile that would be less of an issue), on the other I'm curious so see what would come out, lol.

🥕 Grow a Carrot! 🥕 by pauljs 2023-01-09T20:01:16Z

@pauljs Ah, nice! I should have figured, that makes sense. I'll see if I remember to come back to it a few months from now :-)

Horn of Abundance by fusionnist 2023-01-09T03:08:50Z

I loved the pixel art. It got quite confusing very quickly. It felt like I needed more space and there wasn't much room for strategy besides running in a circle around everyone. Anyway it was still fun, thanks.

Space Harvest 9000! by Vasco Freitas 2023-01-09T02:37:52Z

@sean-esopenko The number of areas and the positioning is random. Originally I wanted to show the next areas to the side, which would make that more clear, but didn't have enough time.

Space Harvest 9000! by Vasco Freitas 2023-01-09T20:29:51Z

@youjing The land only needs to be tilled for the seeds to grow, after they start growing it doesn't matter if the land is tilled or not.

Space Harvest 9000! by Vasco Freitas 2023-01-11T22:09:51Z

@paloobi In the top-left corner it says something like "Day 1 / 12", which means you have until day 12 to meet the objective in the top-right corner. I totally agree this could have been clearer. Thanks!

@phillip-scott Seeds planted on untilled ground are wasted, the idea was to make the gameplay more interesting by the player having to decide if it's worth it to lose seeds in some situations. But it seems that's causing confusion  I've updated the game's description to make this more clear.

Apple Harvester by rhewid 2023-01-08T21:45:15Z

This is pretty neat! I got a highscore of 941. The graphics are great. I feel like the crates are a bit too far from the center, and/or the movement a bit too slow, for my taste at least. It would have more longevity if there were more levels, that are shorter with increasing difficulty. But this is a game jam and there's sometimes not enough time. Great job!

It's Corn! by grid96 2023-01-09T19:33:56Z

Impressive how you were able to make this without any hand input. I love the graphics. The lack of sounds effects was missed. Gameplay is ok for a game jam, needs a few more elements (such as upgrades) to keep it engaging. Great work, keep it up.

Space Harvest by MachWerx 2023-01-09T03:32:11Z

Interesting variation on a clicker game. It was fun to mess around with the sliders and see the result in the graph, though I admit I didn't really know what I was doing most of the time. Research increases mining speed which increases carrot harvesting speed, I suppose? It was a bit confusing but may have potential.

Encryption Harvester by Lone_Wolf 2023-01-09T17:07:36Z

I really enjoying the different style of wordle game. The sounds effects are simple but on point. I would just prefer if you had to input actual words. By being able to input anything, it's far too easy to give in to the temptation to cheat. Anyway it's a solid idea otherwise well executed.

the farmer by haztro 2023-01-09T20:18:56Z

Loved the art style. I wasn't expecting the huge person, that was a pleasant surprise. Reminded me of "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" (yeah, I'm that old). It was quite disorienting at first, I didn't realize there was more than one group of carrots for a while, I thought I was running into the same ones, and they were underground again because the farmer stepped on them and pushed them back inside. Eventually I figured it out, and noticed the counter in the corner. If the counter were a bit more noticeable (maybe make it flash or something when a carrot is harvested), it would be more obvious. Great submission nonetheless.

Harvest Mole by Yumepix 2023-01-09T20:38:36Z

Great graphics, good idea for the theme. Some areas for improvement: it was hard to judge where the mallet collides with the ground exactly (a shadow on the ground would help a lot), and when a mole gets hit the feedback should be more clear and immediate. Other than that a pretty solid entry.

Farming Rush by ASilvers 2023-01-09T16:42:50Z

Nice implementation of a time management/farming game. I felt like there were a bit too many steps to take at the beginning - having to put seeds in the trash and losing the basket - but I got into the habit pretty quickly. The tutorial is well explained and it seems overall well balanced, well done.

Big Veggies by Raphytator 2023-01-09T17:29:24Z

Maybe only allow a click every second or so, otherwise I'm tempted to click frantically and tire myself out. Otherwise nice clicker game and funny story.

LD55 — Summoning

Flower Run by jk5000 2024-04-15T21:48:01Z

Simple but good enough to make me want to try to beat my score a few times (got to 12). I like how I have to time it differently as the level gets faster.

Dark Calling by fueelin 2024-04-15T21:19:27Z

It took me a bit to figure out that the number keys are used to choose the action (grenade, summon skeleton and scarecrow), maybe include that in the description.

I liked how the scarecrow sucks in the goblins. I feel like the grenade could have a bigger area of effect. Also, a background would have helped to make the speed and direction of scroll more clear.

It would be nice to have a score or some kind of objective (it seems like it never ends). Overall a good idea that just needs some tweaking to make it great!

Stars Align by cassowary 2024-04-15T03:20:37Z

I'm really impressed by this, there's not much to fault. The graphics and music are really good, it pretty much feels like a finished, polished product. The controls felt a bit awkward at first (probably because of how you can turn in place), but I'm not sure if they can be improved. I played up to level 9, will continue later. Some of the puzzles seemed impossible at first, but were solvable with just a bit of persistence, which I think is ideal.

SLEEP PARALYSIS by Dinoraz 2024-04-21T02:35:45Z

I loved the mood, it felt very creepy, especially as the number of demons increased. The sounds work really well together and the graphics are great too. I liked the gameplay choices of the "beings of light", too bad there wasn't much strategy at the end besides quickly circling the bed. I had sleep paralysis once as a kid, scary stuff 😨

DESUMMONING by InitialPosition 2024-04-16T00:29:54Z

This was a treat to listen to, I loved the voice expressions made with pitch bending. Looks great as well, particularly the animations, and the story is amusing and well written. I just wished the gameplay had more depth, I seemed to always win by just selecting the highest attack and defense card every time. Still it was fun :)

Summoning Stones by Pe7e 2024-04-16T00:49:04Z

I kind of wanted to kill the zombies instead of getting the stones, and so I died 😅 It looks great, the control is different but I guess better for those that get confused by controlling cars top-down, since it controls more like a character than a car.

Summoner's Chess by Matt Ravenhall 2024-04-15T16:54:13Z

A great idea, though as has been mentioned I did feel it dragged on a bit at times. Not so much because of the difficulty I think (I appreciate how it starts easy and gets gradually more difficult), but sometimes it takes a lot of moves to reach an opponent piece. It probably didn't help that I also didn't notice how to summon more pieces initially, it was definitely more fun with that ability.

The funny opponent descriptions were a nice detail :)

I probably found a glitch, I tried playing the last level (from the level select), and the opponent resigned very quickly. summoners_chess_screenshot.png

Duck Spawner by Myse 2024-04-15T02:18:24Z

Congrats on your first ldjam! The ducks are cute, and the music goes well with it.

Shadow Seeker by Xdroid101 2024-04-15T22:01:45Z

No game link?

Summons Sprint by tstapely07 2024-04-15T21:39:34Z

Nice idea for the theme :) As already mentioned, the camera movement is a bit jarring in this top-down perspective, maybe have it further from the environment or not completely top-down (though I understand it may take away from the maze-factor). Graphics are nice and colorful.

Cast Time by s95rob 2024-04-20T23:44:34Z

Great music, nice logo, simple idea but fun. The text at the beginning clashes a bit with the background. After playing a while, it got a bit repetitive since the difficulty wouldn't increase and I could play almost indefinitely. A great entry nevertheless.

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

The Fast Dating by jk5000 2018-04-24T16:36:38Z

Pretty funny game :) It would have been nice if the dates were harder, such as losing progress if you say the same thing twice, and changing the position of the buttons. Also, the difficulty needs to get harder, at a certain point I could keep playing forever.

Sleeping Cat Drumkit Defense by iMer 2018-04-24T11:55:45Z

Great idea, I really liked how the rhythm changes depending on which items you purchase. It was a bit easy for me, although the rhythm was quite complex by the end, I could almost randomly hit keys and win.

g3ms by HolyBlackCat 2018-04-24T16:17:28Z

I would like to try this, but it gives me the following error: "The code execution cannot proceed because OpenAL32.dll was not found."

g3ms by HolyBlackCat 2018-04-24T16:45:14Z

OK it worked now, thanks :) Wow, this is really polished for a compo game. Art is great, the "match-3" mechanic is unusual but works well. Puzzles were a pleasure to solve. This is one of the best I've played so far, well done!

Empty Space by bentglasstube 2018-05-02T14:21:29Z

By mixing a shooter with the sliding puzzle, you're making the puzzle even harder and more frustrating than it already is, so for me this was kind of awkward to play. But it's a neat idea, and if you're a sliding puzzle master I suppose this would be fun.

SKYWOOOD PIER by designernap 2018-04-26T10:46:19Z

It's pretty amazing how you were able to create so much intrigue with such simple gameplay and story elements. The audio is excellent all around. It's also a complete game, it doesn't feel like anything is missing or needs to be added. It's my favorite compo game so far. Well done!

Blue Marble Sniper: Bullet Hell Stealth by Ale 2018-04-26T17:39:02Z

Pretty interesting and original gameplay mechanic :) Works well with a leaderboard, it's a good game for competitive play.

Super Bigbo Commando by harusame 2018-04-23T16:17:44Z

Nice game! Graphics are very good, and the top-down platformer mechanic works well. I just wish there was mid-air control, and a better way to gauge the height of platforms (such as the size of shadows they cast). A player shadow would also be helpful. But perhaps this would add perspective, which would go against the top-down nature of the game? Regardless, it was an enjoyable game, with a good amount of content. Well done.

Type it like Schumacher! by Linky439 2018-04-24T16:58:59Z

Interesting idea, I like how the fast-paced music combines with the typing nature of the game, quite funny :) My one major annoyance is that I can't type as fast as I want, there's a small delay I have to wait for after each key press to be able to input another.

TDshooter by Genpaku 2018-04-24T11:01:37Z

I really like the idea of a tower defense for 2 players. Online play is a plus, although I was not able to try it. Playing with the bots was way to easy, and the sound effect for the machine gun was kind of annoying. Graphics are nice. Good job.

Travis Beacon Teaches Fighting by niksg 2018-04-23T11:47:03Z

Great game. I really liked the art style, and typing/rhythm game idea. I was afraid it would be too easy for me at the beginning but then the difficulty went up and it was great fun with the 3rd and 4th fighters. Haven't made it past the ghost character yet, maybe I'll try one more time...

Frogger: The Jigsaw by loveapplegames 2018-05-02T11:26:40Z

Cool game! I like how you have some choice in the way the level takes form as you complete the jigsaw. It's definitely difficult, I made it to the third level. I would perhaps like to have a bit more space to maneuver, it felt a bit cramped; especially since I had to keep looking to the side to see what kind of piece I got. I would like to be able to see the form of the piece better before I collect it, but since it's pixelated I can't really tell. Anyway, good idea, and a great challenge, well done :)

Problematic Powers by victorcrafty 2018-04-24T14:01:28Z

Interesting setting, athough I'm not sure how this is related to the compo theme. I wish that I could continue moving as I attack. There didn't seem to be much strategy involved in switching powers, since it seemed to be a matter of keeping the temperature in the middle. It was entertaining, though. Good job.

Boring RPG by Number6406 2018-05-02T18:14:27Z

Cool idea :) I think that the idle attacks need to be more frequent, I felt like I was clicking too much. Once I reached level 4, I had to click too many times for the next upgrade, so I gave up. It would be interesting to see the effect of the different player stats.

Boring RPG by Number6406 2018-05-02T18:38:24Z

@number6406 Oh, I didn't realize that dexterity affected the time between idle attacks, I would of put that higher otherwise :)

DragTypist by Slashee the Cow 2018-05-02T18:02:47Z

Cool game, I had fun :) My best score was 51.327s on my 5th attempt. The music during gameplay is great! I think that the speed at which the letters change gets a bit too fast at higher speeds. I would prefer that they changed a bit more slowly, while removing the possibility of hitting a key after they disappear, since that feels a bit confusing. Great submission nevertheless.

FarmPunch by F14K-3R 2018-04-26T11:41:57Z

It was a shame the game ended so abruptly, a couple more fights with different characters would have been nice. I liked how you could tell where the carrot was going to punch by his expression. Anyway, nice artwork and original story, good job.

Demon's in the NFL by Duck_Games 2018-04-23T17:39:55Z

Fun idea for a story :) The interface was confusing at times (what does "start", "finish" mean?), I unintentionally skipped part of the story because of this. Also, the red letters don't contrast well sometimes, especially with the blue background. The mini-games were entertaining, although sometimes they started or changed so quickly that I had to die a few times to figure out what was going on. Anyway it was intriguing enough that I played to the end, nice job :)

Bar Fighter - Dating sim + Fighting game by Pixelome 2018-05-02T18:34:14Z

Very funny idea :) Everything looks great, but the combat felt a bit random, since I didn't assume that you put a pattern into the way the computer fights. Some kind of hint as to where he is going to attack could have helped. Anyway, nice job :)

Agent Patissier by sndr 2018-04-26T11:21:57Z

That was fun :) The game is very complete, art is great. It was a little strange to have no penalty for being caught (you actually get an advantage since you keep the ingredients). I would have liked to see more situations where you *have* to bait people with food in order to advance, I think I only had to do this once in the beginning. Regardless, it was an entertaining game, great job :)

Honest Dan's Trout by Honest Dan 2018-04-24T14:15:11Z

This was really a great idea for the theme. It works surprisingly well, and adds an interesting dynamic to the tetris game, since the ball can destroy the pieces. Perhaps the blocks could fall a little bit faster, since I never felt in danger of losing due to the screen getting filled. Anyway, great job, I think I'm going to try and beat my high score :)

Flat Survival by Jamscript 2018-04-26T17:48:57Z

Like Beard or Die said, when I reach the gold line I just collide against it. Cool idea to mix platforming with survival. Good job.

Candy Catch by DjeyCreations 2018-05-02T17:39:34Z

Nice music :) The difficulty seems a bit inconsistent. On my first tries I got killed almost right away, then on my last try, I lasted a long time without difficulty. Funny idea though, and entertaining.

Dancing Car by Ludrak 2018-04-24T12:13:29Z

It was a bit frustrating at the beginning, car was always exploding, but once I got the hang of it (by always having the car angled up) it was enjoyable. Music was nice, just not much of it :)

Rockin' Horse by niterich 2018-04-23T19:09:16Z

Nice idea, really enjoyed the music :) It was however a bit confusing to know which beats I was supposed to press enter to, a visual indication would be helpful. The control seems to need some work, it felt a bit stiff, although that could be in part due to do my failure to press enter on the control beats. My bike got stuck into the stairs at one point. Anyway, I enjoyed playing, thanks!

Blitzingo by spthiel 2018-04-26T13:29:45Z

Cool idea! It took a bit to figure out that I needed to select the numbers, I assumed they would get picked automatically. Also, it's possible to "cheat" a bit by selecting numbers 1-25 in order, so it's easier to know if you have it. Even so, it was hard to beat it on medium. A high-score table would work well with this. Good job :)

Physics Fighter by Vasco Freitas 2018-04-23T18:01:02Z

@joqlepecheur Yeah, I couldn't find the option to disable the terminal at the time, but I found it now and will update the game soon (this simple fix should not be against the rules I think). Thanks!

Physics Fighter by Vasco Freitas 2018-04-26T10:17:15Z

@honest-dan @niterich Yes I completely agree, the health bar was the next thing on my to-do list, but I ran out of time :( Thanks!

Physics Fighter by Vasco Freitas 2018-04-26T17:19:59Z

@ale @lumos Thank you! Regarding expanding the game, I am actually considering this. The physics can definitely be improved, different moves can be added (blocking, crouched attacks, picking up enemies), and various physics-based obstacles/puzzles. It is also a really fun game to work on :)

Physics Fighter by Vasco Freitas 2018-05-02T11:27:25Z

@loveapplegames Done :) Thanks!

Dance Dance Shoot 'Em Up by xandrew 2018-04-24T11:33:58Z

Nice idea. The game lagged quite a bit when I first tried on Firefox, then I opened it in Chrome and it did not lag until near the end. It was a bit hard to look at the beats and enemies at the same time, perhaps if the beats were at the top it would be easier? Or maybe make it easier to just listen to the audio cues; the main beat was easy to guess but sometimes it would not be there, or other beats added, which was a bit confusing. Anyway, I enjoyed it, good job :)

CaveThing in a Futuristic World by PhysicsGuy 2018-04-23T16:48:12Z

I didn't really understand what was happening or what my objective was. Then I noticed that my hammer would break things inside the ship so I started hammering away! Then the ship lifted off and I got out of it.

I guess I was a low-technological species who encountered a high-tech spaceship? The game has an intriguing atmosphere, I just wish there was a bit more story.

Bumper Buddies by JavaSaurus 2018-04-23T15:47:26Z

Interesting idea! The general table layout is good and everything seemed to work well. The physics seemed to be just a little "floaty", although I'm not sure why. As @aterlamia said, the ball should be a bit bigger. Also, the sound effects should feel more powerful, with stronger bass, that's important for a pinball machine. The difficulty seemed too easy, I played for a while without ever losing. Anyway well done for not giving up and finishing the game! :)

Flong! by Mil 2018-04-26T11:53:00Z

Nice idea, having the paddles with "Flappy Bird control" :) I feel like the ball/bird would sometimes move too slow, and it would get stuck moving only at the bottom of the screen. Anyway, good job :)

[LD41] Antibody by Horow 2018-04-23T15:16:12Z

It was hard to understand how to play since the instructions are in French. The keyboard layout is also French, so the WASD keys on my keyboard don't work, I had to use the arrow keys.

It seems there may be an interesting idea behind this, unfortunately I was unable to really understand it. The enemies would all group together, and it seemed that my shots against them weren't doing anything.

I pressed tab to go the upgrade screen, but I didn't understand how it works.

Endless shooter by theBOSS12 2018-04-23T16:28:50Z

Fun little game. I wish you could just hold the mouse button down and automatically shoot. It was a little easy for me, the game did not seem to get much harder after a certain point, and it could use some more variety.

Beat'em Art by FireHawk 2018-04-24T13:43:58Z

Looks good visually, slicing mechanic is an interesting idea, although it didn't seem to work very well. Sometimes no slice appeared, or it seemed to lag. This could be interesting for mobile devices. Nice job :)

Gardening Sim 2019 by shp 2018-04-26T17:12:27Z

Cool game! My only annoyance is the method of changing weapons, it is a bit confusing and I died because I pressed the wrong button and selected the wrong item. The mood was great and it was a good idea to not say in the description what kind of game it actually is, it was good to be surprised :)

Shape Destroyer: Ascension by Lumos 2018-04-24T11:22:45Z

This was pretty cool! It took me a bit to figure out how to play but then I really liked the idea. I wish there was a way to get more ammunition, and sound effects. Nonetheless, well done!
