LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Glowstick Run by karlipoppins 2021-04-28T04:27:59Z

4:59 :)) Man it's satisfying when you string a bunch of bounces together (that actually put you in the right direction...) haha - really fun mechanic. I especially enjoyed the music too. Awesome submission!

Deeper and Deeper by minibobbo 2021-04-29T02:27:34Z

This game looks amazing, great job on the art/lighting - really sets it apart from others. The gameplay is super polished. Moving about the levels feels good and the scene transitions really elevate the experience - I probably would have preferred a slightly quicker respawn time though. I liked how each level introduced a new problem to solve too. My main critique would be with the torchi throwing mechanic. Although it was fun to use, I found that I could get through most of the game without using it - maybe more spike traps? ;) Awesome submission

Super Drill Boy by rakart 2021-04-27T03:15:13Z

I had fun playing this game. Cute consistent art and nice sound/music too. I found the spikes pretty unforgiving - maybe I'm just bad at platformers ;) Great submission.

Fallen Shovel by silkworm_sweatshop 2021-04-28T12:50:51Z

This is definitely the most satisfying game I've played so far. Everything felt super polished - the charge jump was especially addictive. The music really suited the mood of the visuals/narrative and the sound effects only made the movement feel more responsive/satisfying. Each level added a new problem to be solved so I was consistently hooked. Awesome submission!

Earigator by alec 2021-04-27T03:47:44Z

Lol this game is so cool. Don't know why but seeing the dude's brain at the end gets me every time. I loved the music especially. Awesome submission :)

Magic Frontier by Firebelley 2021-04-26T02:30:22Z

Cool game! Art style was really polished, and the puzzles were a good balance of challenging and fun. Great job

Super Turtle Drop by JavaSaurus 2021-04-29T01:55:56Z

Wow, really polished entry. Took me a little bit to realise that I needed to get down FAST. Once I'd worked that out I really enjoyed the fast pace gameplay. I probably could have done with a few more time powerups at the start but other than that impressive entry :)

Deep space by ancooper 2021-04-27T03:06:52Z

Cute art, unfortunate about sound - I think it definitely would have elevated the game. Perhaps just adding a "distanced travelled" indicator would have give more purpose to my actions. Nice submission :)

Submerged by vanLeiden 2021-04-28T13:05:56Z

I really like this one. The art and music complement each other super well - I found the whole experience kind of therapeutic! My only critique would be that the difficulty could be made slightly harder. Great game! "Mission Successful" ;)

Shiny Depths by José Bonilla 2021-04-27T02:15:44Z

Nice game! I like the idea of having to plan where you dig in order to get back up - this was immediately obvious to me (should of read the tips and tricks ;)). The different music for mining/surface was great for the mood too.

Pearl Diver by Martin183 2021-04-28T01:39:14Z

This game felt super polished - really enjoyed it. I would agree with others, though, that 3 max items is a bit tedious. I especially enjoyed the music - the underwater track was so atmospheric. Great submission :)

The Plummet by cakts 2021-04-28T07:18:18Z

Awesome atmosphere/graphics. Everything is super polished and I really like the rope mechanic - admittedly, I never quite mastered it. The lighting really sets it apart from other games. Nice submission!

Mullet Time by Lajbert 2021-04-28T02:34:24Z

Great submission! Very impressive that it's your own engine too ;) For some reason I had to exit out of the game every time I died since the level didn't properly load. Other than that it was a fun little game, nice work.

Sweet Dreams by LeHaine 2021-04-27T04:41:58Z

This game was super satisfying to play, I really enjoyed it. The attacks/movements were super responsive and the difficulty curve was nice. The one issue I had was spotting enemies - sometimes they were hard to see due to the contrast against the background. Nice submission :)

A Deep Stare by Rushhourz 2021-04-26T02:24:55Z

Pretty cool game, I actually spent a surprising amount of time on it :)

Johnny Debt by haztro 2021-04-26T03:19:09Z

@billnotic Hey thanks for trying it out. Was that when playing in the browser? I might remove that option if it's unplayable.

Johnny Debt by haztro 2021-04-26T03:22:45Z

@mausimus Yep, keep borrowing to pay the bills - the lenders will slowly let you borrow more money, but you're still forced to run around accumulating debt ;)

The Avaricious Deep by nigeynige 2021-04-28T01:53:32Z

Super challenging! It's impressive the amount of features you managed to implement well done. I especially liked the way you have to survive until the caravan arrives. I also experienced a bug others have mentioned where you're unable to build. Nice submission :)

Miner Rescue by mausimus 2021-04-26T03:12:40Z

Cool little game! Took me a while to realise you had to stop to save the miners. Really liked the minimalist 3d art. Could definitely see this being played on some kind of arcaded cabinet :)

Recursive Repairman by Bipmo Bopmo 2021-04-27T02:55:07Z

Really liked the concept. It wasn't immediately obvious to me from the prompt how the box movement worked - once I worked it out it was great. The difficulty of the levels scales really well, it kept me hooked for ages. Awesome submission :)

I did run into one bug where if I moved around while the "enter robot" transition happened the screen would get covered up and I'd have to restart.

CHROMAHOLIC by Secret Magic 404 2021-04-28T02:17:56Z

Wow, this is definitely the atmospheric/moody game I've played so far. I really like the concept of having to race to solve the maze before you go blind - I didn't get very far haha. I think I'd be more inclined to keep trying if the respawn time was slightly shorter. The ambient music was awesome. Great submission - I really enjoyed it :)

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

50 Second Apocalypse by superpokeunicorn 2022-04-05T05:58:44Z

Nice entry, great use of the theme. - Loved how the shooting felt - great blood effects ;) - the mechanic was pretty cool, I would have loved to have seen this utilised more in the game. Great job :)

Dont Sleep by PhoenixofForce 2022-04-04T23:50:43Z

Great entry. The art is amazing! Hectic keyboard posture, mans can code with one hand.

Too Close by Webox 2022-04-05T03:05:47Z

Awesome entry, pretty challenging. The mechanic is really clever and could definitely lead to some super interesting puzzles. The art is amazing and the sfx/music really adds to the mood. One issue I had was I wasn't sure when I could select/use an ability it was hard to tell which one was selected or if I was able to use it. Great game!

Trolley's Delayma by albertnez 2022-04-05T09:30:17Z

Wow, this is my favourite game of the jam so far. Some thoughts: - Main mechanic is fantastic, makes great use of the theme - Each level is consistently interesting (even with multiple solutions) with the difficulty scaling nicely. I love how simple the loop detection is - so clever. - Art is minimalistic but consistent and looks incredible - I'm sure it was intentional but I had a chuckle at level 10 when I accidently completed it

My only suggestion would be to have some indication of which rail you're interacting with (maybe highlighting it or somethin) when they're close together it can be difficult to tell.

Awesome entry, nice work :)

Ludare OS by foxwater 2022-04-05T00:24:31Z

This is sick - had heaps of fun playing. Super fun concept and surprisingly addictive, once I got the controls down. Art and sound are great too. I'd say my only issue was getting use to cycling through the option. Awesome entry.

Comet by EduSilva 2022-04-06T11:42:24Z

Really polished entry. - Beautiful art style, loved the colour palette and animations - Was surprised by how intuitive the grab mechanic worked using the same button as shoot. It always seemed to behave the way I expected - really well done.

Only issue I had was the restart cutscene - it was great the first time but would have appreciated a faster restart.

Nice work :)

Model-5C by William Corrin 2022-04-05T06:09:51Z

This is super impressive!! - Loved the atmosphere. The music went so well with the dark/mysterious tone of the story (groovy too). - Art was great. The lighting was super moody and the levels looked great, both of which I could look at cause of the neat camera movement. - My only issue was with the aiming. Sometimes it felt a little weird the way it aimed in 3d.

Awesome entry :)

Deck And Decay by ThorPalsson 2022-04-06T00:31:27Z

Was so confused when the table dropped but of COURSE I need to face off against zombies in a bespoke card game to ensure my survival. Super wacky, fun entry. Nice work :)

My Last Hanami by Mahjoub 2022-04-04T08:13:50Z

Great entry! Really beautiful art. I like how the mechanics were slowly introduced in a super natural way.

Malarkey! by OddSocks 2022-04-05T12:32:13Z

Aw man, unfortunate you couldn't add more - what you have is awesome. - You've managed to capture the lonely, desolate mood perfectly and I love how comfy it feels in the shelter. Also some of the best pixel art I've seen so far - The sound really adds to the atmosphere and I like how even without player animation the footsteps still make it "readable".

Great job, I'd love to see more of this :)

Immune System "Engineer" - Can you Delay the Inevitable Skin Breach? by Aarimous 2022-04-05T00:48:51Z

Great entry. Really cool mechanic, the difficulty progression was really well done (with the addition of extra nodes). It got difficult fast, would have been nice to chill for a bit longer ;) The connection sound are super satisfying too. Nice job!

RUN COFFEE RUN by aerloth 2022-04-05T23:33:19Z

This was heaps of fun.

asdfasdf (2).PNG

- Game looked great, colour scheme plus 2d/3d look was beautiful - The progression was super well done, the puzzles were really well thought out - Sound design was great - made interacting in the world satisfying

Only suggestion would be to maybe stop the timer when reading signs - I suppose it's part of the challenge but I found it more tedious than fun.

Really polished nice work :)

NAP GUARDIAN by nethead 2022-04-05T10:01:55Z

That was awesome. Such a polished entry, I was disappointed when it finished! - Art was amazing and the music/sound was great for the atmosphere - attack mechanic felt really nice so did the dash - would have been great if there was a dash charge up sound effect. - Loved that you included a tutorial in the beginning too.

Great work :)

ZEZ by tengusheath 2022-04-04T23:36:20Z

Nice entry. Super satisfying slash mechanic, feels great. I love the character design for the main dude. Would have loved to have seen some variety in the enemies and levels. I encountered a bug where my screen went all orange almost as if the player glow was scaled up massively (I could be way off) but it meant I coudn't see the enemy rings.

Avagiance by Poppy Entertainment 2022-04-05T13:31:29Z

Great entry! - Fun hectic gameplay - took me a bit to work out what was going on but after that it was sweet. - I enjoyed the moody atmosphere - the pixel art was great too. - Sometimes the hit detection for the portal got mixed up with the enemies and I'd inadvertently kill myself. - It'd be good to have some sort of indicator when you finish the stage. The first time I was confused when the next level started.

Nice job :)

Slime Rise by haztro 2022-04-04T10:48:27Z

@smiley thanks for letting me know. Think it was a problem with the fullscreen toggle.

Slime Rise by haztro 2022-04-04T23:14:32Z

@oxnh thanks for the feedback. Yeah I agree, would have been good to show the building you're about to place somehow.

Slime Rise by haztro 2022-04-04T23:16:11Z

@pashaloban life's hard

Lost In Space by PSV Games Studio 2022-04-06T00:23:42Z

Beautiful visuals and really moody - really polished entry. Nice work!

Atlantis by lisyarus 2022-04-05T13:05:27Z

Damn this is awesome, easily the most playtime I've had so far couldn't stop until I "finished" it. - The progression felt great, took me a few goes to properly manage resources and was super satisfying once I worked it out. - Great low poly art - Minimalist sound design that doesn't get in the way but still adds to the experience

Great work :)

Heat by Wuppos 2022-04-05T09:47:51Z

Cute as hell, great entry. - Love the art, simple and effective. - Solid game mechanic which makes good use of the theme. - Fun difficulty progression, gets hectic quick but has a nice arcadey feel.

Only issue was with selecting the people. Would maybe be good to have them get highlighted or somethin when you mouse over.

Nice work :)

Cup Half Full by BangTheWall 2022-04-04T08:33:12Z

Wow incredible job on the interaction, I was so surprised how naturally everything moved around - as in, things moved the way I expected them too. Super satisfying when you complete a line. Great entry!

Wormageddon by MatterLinx 2022-04-06T05:02:27Z

Love this one! - The 3d/pixel art aesthetic is great. I'm curious if it's actually 3d or just sprite layering etc?? The character animations are awesome too. - Fun dodging mechanics - good difficulty level - Groovy music.

Nice work :)

Halt the Annihilation by WillTurner 2022-04-04T06:16:16Z

Nice entry! Props for the full tutorial - pretty rare for a jam. Small suggestion for the UI: it'd be useful to have some sort of indicator for when you're about to lose, maybe the population text flashes red or somethin. Neat game :)

The Final Day by Very Bad Bunny Studio 2022-04-05T00:39:20Z

Great entry, the amount of mechanics you've included is impressive. Loved the old-school mood. Had some issues with balancing, some enemies would absolutely destroy me and others were super easy. Awesome game :)

Keep Cool by Nebiros 2022-04-05T10:11:43Z

Great entry, really polished. Some thoughts: - The UI/menu was fantastic set the tone for the game. - art was really nice - super cute - Was fun getting a snowflake and just going ham haha - I found the physics a bit floaty and difficult to control, maybe increasing the acceleration would help. - Sliding was wild, first thing I did was dash off the edge and fall for eternity lol.

Nice work :)

Can You Out Run It? by ADerpyChickenStudios 2022-04-05T13:12:22Z

This was great, surprisingly addictive. Loved the feeling of picking up a gas can and blasting on up. Great work :)

Stuck In Space by ThatRandomProgrammer 2022-04-05T03:24:40Z

This is super cute! - The intro was a great way to teach the player what's up - Loved how the characters helmet moves around to indicate direction - interesting mechanic having the ability to jet yourself when you're about to run out of fuel

Great job!

Hostile Life by Bosco 2022-04-04T06:31:15Z

Awesome entry! Having a completed game for a first jam is huge.

Pros: - The glitchy atmosphere combined with the nature theme works super well - not something I'd think to do. I especially loved the lightning strikes. - The little "z" prompts are a nice touch, really helps guide you to the things that matter. - Great comfy sound effects. - Rain drop physics!

Cons: - As others have mentioned the physics are a bit funky. I found it a bit difficult to not clip through crates. - Movement felt a bit floaty. Small suggestion would be to increase gravity/friction maybe?

Over the Rainbow Bridge by Iguanana 2022-04-04T23:59:47Z

Nice entry - so wholesome :) The limited colour palette for the art looked great. Only issue I had was with the dialog box - it wasn't immediately obvious to me that the paw button progressed the text.

Nuts and Volts by MeeseAgainstHumanity 2022-04-05T01:58:07Z

Great entry.

Pros: - It was super fun moving around the level the dash feel great. - Sound really added to the experience and the music was perfect for this kind of shooter/dungeon crawler.

Cons: - Would have been good if the battery slowly depleted or something to push the theme a bit more. - The pink enemies were a bit hard to see - they didn't contrast against the floor that much.

There's a bug where if you shoot the hole, it'll trigger the level change.

Overall, fun game, nice work :)

Venting Machine by EmberUshi 2022-04-05T00:57:29Z

Great entry! Loved the funky aesthetic - the palette and style really look awesome. The initial hit is super fun but I wasn't really sure what was happening after that - was still satisfying to see the distance go up haha. Nice work.

SILAS by googlypoo 2022-04-05T09:11:07Z

Such a polished game! - loved the core mechanic really simple but allows for some really tricky puzzles - music/sfx perfectly suited the mood - Would have loved a checkpoint - having to redo parts that you've solved can be rough.

Nice work :)

The Squeel of Time by Victris Games 2022-04-05T05:52:26Z

Fun entry! Was really satisfying once I worked out how jumping/the lava worked. Couldn't get past 10 though. Nice work :)

GrimTide: Delay the Inevitable by MartinK 2022-04-05T06:32:08Z

Awesome entry! Took a little while to figure out how the stockpile mechanic worked but after that it was super fun - gets stressful managing all the factories. Sound design is really nice as well. Great work!

Save the Planet!! by Aethona 2022-04-05T13:21:25Z

Neat entry. Loved creepy music. This game would probably be great for training mouse accuracy :p

LD52 — Harvest

Wheat Master by nyxkn 2023-01-10T04:21:53Z

Had a lot of fun with this. Really satisfying trying to keep all the upgrades balanced. Super relaxing game, awesome job :)

the farmer by haztro 2023-01-10T00:41:52Z

@vasco-freitas thanks for the feedback. Good point about each group looking identical - I didn't think to make them visually distinct. Adjusting the counter is a good idea too.

the farmer by haztro 2023-01-12T09:14:15Z

@pazzi thanks for playing! sorry about the sound, there are actually SFX in there just didn't have time to balance so they're pretty quiet.

Worm Harvester 3 by Bosco 2023-01-10T00:47:27Z

great submission. The number go up and my brain tingles. As others have mentioned, I liked having the two areas to jump between, keeping it fresh. It wasn't immediately obvious to me that you could click the worms to send them marching but once i worked that out it was great. Also, and this is just personal preference, one suggestions would be to instead of having the large scroll container containing all the worms, just a have a single button which sends the most powerful since this is what you end up doing anyway. Nice one

Bean Farmer Extreme 2 by bytecauldron 2023-01-09T06:57:08Z
