tengusheath 2022-04-05 02:49

I like the idea for this puzzle game, but I wish the camera would follow the character and not the water rising. I would finish a puzzle too fast and the character would walk up but turn around and back track.

stenblood 2022-04-05 02:54

took me a while to figure it out, when I did it was very fun, leading the character around with rocks and lightning, I still died a lot, it's quite a hard game.

enkrypton 2022-04-05 03:03

The art style is fitting for the game, I like that. Its cool puzzle game with a unique concept but it took me a while to understand what's going on, overall pretty cool.

haztro 2022-04-05 03:05

Awesome entry, pretty challenging. The mechanic is really clever and could definitely lead to some super interesting puzzles. The art is amazing and the sfx/music really adds to the mood. One issue I had was I wasn't sure when I could select/use an ability it was hard to tell which one was selected or if I was able to use it. Great game!

beefsock 2022-04-05 03:14

Nice art and well executed. The hardest game I've played so far this jam, very challenging. Nice addition of a leaderboard!

zeekza 2022-04-05 03:42

Very fun but difficult puzzle game! Takes quite a while to get the hang of. Really lovely graphics as well!

kongo 2022-04-05 08:26

At first I thought that the reset button in the upper left corner was not working (later I found out what this icon does) :D Sometimes when I use lightning bolt character moves and altered rotation starts working in the next cell. Overall it is one of best logic game in game jam so far :)

bastienre4 2022-04-05 08:38

Very interesting mechanics, good job! Graphics are amazing too. Congrats!

escapade 2022-04-05 13:46

Nice and interesting game, very nice graphics. My main gripe is the lack of a tutorial and no indicator for what each of the powers do, other than the icons, I had to take a few tries to figure out what was going on. Although if I had to guess, that was due to lack of time, which is normal. Still quite a fun and novel game nonetheless. Good job!

sodaro 2022-04-05 14:07

The pixelart is lovely and the sound design is very atmospheric! Cool to see some randomization between each run too, but some rooms felt a bit too hard for how early they were encountered. Very good entry all in all though

@tengusheath @stenblood @enkrypton @haztro @beefsock @zeekza @kongo @bastienre4 @escapade @sodaro

Thank you all for playing and for the cool feedback!! Some of the issues are of course, as you said, due to lack of time :P .. Overall I think the game ended up being fairly nice and I'm happy with the result!! I may add some fixes issuing the stuff you mentioned during this weeks.

Thanks again!

weirdybeardyman 2022-04-05 14:34

Very cool concept and mechanics. Nice mood, art and SFX. Definitely challenging, and made me want to keep playing and beat my score.

waysneighborgo2 2022-04-05 14:44

the art is really good

martinek 2022-04-05 15:39

Great concept for a game, art was nice.I only wish I could see a bit more ahead.

purpledartfrog 2022-04-05 16:25

Damn .... I drowned ... beautiful aesthetics... though  :thumbsup_tone1:

bottled-up-dark-peace 2022-04-05 16:47

I didn't get what zap did. I mostly used the rock for everything. I like the procedural generation tho. But a lot was unintuitive imo. Like the fact that it unselect the item once you use it. Or that you can't outrun the flood. Those are neat concepts on their own but there, they were thrown all at once at the player and it makes it unintuitive. Introducing the cocnepts one by one with some clever level design would solve that though.

2022-04-05 16:57

Really good game, beautiful graphics. Was really fun to play. In the beginning of the game, maybe explain what some stuff does a bit better since I wasn't able to understand what the clock and zap did. I looked at the itch.io page and understood eventually, but you know what I mean. And also PLEASE add a way to replay the game if you drowned and dont want to add your score to the leaderboards. I just kept refreshing the page lmfao

webox 2022-04-05 17:05

@waysneighborgo2 Thanks!! It lacked some animation but it's the best I could make :p

@martinek thanks mate!! I'm glad you liked it, there's an ability that increeases the water level and let's you see one more row

@purpledartfrog thanks a lot!! I'm glad you liked it

@bottled-up-dark-peace I agree 100% with this.. I participated alone so I ended up with a tutorial level that wasn't finished. The idea was something like you mentioned, it's supposed to focus the camera on the player and don't reveal the full map, and introduce mechanics one at atime. The tutorial level was supposed to lead to the lower left hall in which you start the match. Thanks a lot for the feedback, sorry for the bad experience :P

geryon-games 2022-04-05 17:28

Great game! I'm a big fan of the art style. I do think a tutorial level would have been nice, but it's a jam... All in all, wonderful work!

archangel 2022-04-05 17:34

Very fun game, but I think I might be too dumb to do well haha

bauke-regnerus 2022-04-05 20:11

A unique concept that requires consistent good design. Some parts were a bit slow and I needed to passively wait for the water to progress. Maybe a button to temporarily speed it up? But I appreciate to good parts, some of them pretty clever designed. Great pixelart. Good job!

fedora 2022-04-05 20:30

Really well done! The only critic I have is that it gets a bit repetitive after a while because the rooms repeat and the difficulty doesn't increase. Also sometimes the map moves when you are activating an ability so you place it on the wrong place.

foxwater 2022-04-06 01:31

Very polished entry! The art style and music were super cohesive and it required a lot of thought to do well. The randomness gives it some good replayability as well.

Like others have mentioned I leaned pretty heavily on the rock, and there were a couple of instances were I sped up the water to see the next area only to have my button for the spikes get sunk. Overall very solid and fun though, well done!

proxy-games 2022-04-06 02:49

This is an interesting concept! The gameplay was a little hard to get used to at first, but once it clicked it was a fun game to think through. The graphics and audio are very nice and fit together well. The controls were sometimes a little weird for me, though how much of that was due to me not understanding the rules of the game is questionable (The first time I tried to use the lightning, I didn't expect to have to place it down like a tile. I ended up having to wait for the blind lady to come back.). The use of randomization in terms of the puzzles is a neat concept, and it is executed well here. Overall, I enjoyed this one. Nice work!

tim-sims 2022-04-06 03:29

That was a really cool experience! It felt quite claustrophobic and tense!

idenoh 2022-04-06 19:36

Absolutely fantastic entry, I love the art style, and you really were able to capture the theme with your gameplay, At one point I placed a rock and ended up trapping myself in an area that was quickly filling with water.

marc-grabow 2022-04-07 14:03

Very tricky, love the art style at atmosphere. The movement was a bit weird as it wasn't predictable which way she'd turn next, I'm not sure if that is randomized or if that's just me? If its randomized I'd recommend making it deterministic because it is kinda a puzzle under time pressure - which I find a really cool idea! This feels like something you could make into a real game and put it on mobile!

Thanks for bringing your game by my stream for feedback! If you’d like to revisit the play and commentary you can view the highlight at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1448039295

Interesting take on a puzzle game. A lot to like about it.

A couple of points for improvement: zap both making her immediately turn 180 *and* swap rotation direction was maybe a little too much to readily internalize what would happen under time pressure. Aiming zap was tricky (the stage kept advancing just as I was about to click) - maybe if it targeted a 3x3? Flood seemed unworth using as it costs energy *and* takes away energy income.

This was cool! I really enjoyed the gameplay and the game looks/sounds good.

coleslaughter 2022-04-18 04:41

This was a really neat idea! :)

I deeeesssperately wish there was some kind of "undo" mechanic, as I constantly found myself placing rocks RIGHT at the entrance to the next area, and immediately softlocked myself and had to wait for my inevitable doom.

Other than that, though, I like the mechanics at play here! The time slow-down in particular came in clutch for me quite a few times
