I found this game amazing. I liked the idea, and the sound was perfect. Also, the results looks very neat.

I found this game amazing. I liked the idea, and the sound was perfect. Also, the results looks very neat.
I liked it, but in the level when you have to escape, it has no ending? The elevator was infinite, I just jumped off and it got stuck there.
Cool game, full of fun. I also loved the blur effect ;)
Good job! I loved the idea, and how everything matched so nicely. Glad to play games with original and new concepts :P
I've just added Windows build :)
I wouldn't expect a racing game with this theme. Liked the idea and enjoyed the result :P
Nice game! I liked the graphics, simple yet so good looking. Also the gameplay with the level design makes this game quite fun to play. I enjoyed it :)
Very simple mechanics yet so fun! Very intense to beat the red one. Good music, and the fact that they are cats is a plus!
Great original concept, I loved the idea, and the game was nice and fun!
Wow, this game is really great! Requires no tutorial and is easy to understand. The alien is super cute, and it's clear what you have to do at all times. The mechanic of dragging the piece from 4 directions makes it challenging enough, and the difficulty progression of the game is perfect. The game is super polished and it's very fun to play. Well done!
Fun game, I like how the interaction works, and how the stats of the plants are displayed. However, the implications of each mood are not clear at first, and need to be read from the tips. Once you get in the flow, the game gets fun, but I'm missing some progression, with increasing difficulty or some change. Great game regardless.
Nice game. The immersion feeling in the darkness is so, so well achieved. I also liked the progression, how the items are unlocked and how it's explored.
Loved it!
Silly idea, I loved it! It takes a bit to get used to the tower moving with just 1 player, but then you can stock up your health and ammo, and prepare for a siege against the other castles! I really liked the overall aesthetic and music of the game. Very cool!
Really fun game, the controls are simple (drag & tap) but give lots of options for the gameplay. At first it wasn't clear how I could get more food, or how do I interact with the chickens. I liked that you can do nice combos if you dash in the middle of a crowd, and bounce against many enemies. I also liked the idea that if an enemy grabs to you, you're essentially bringing them closer to the king, so you better avoid that! The overall graphics are charming and give a nice feeling together. Nice game!
Pretty cool game. Love the minimalistic and clean approach. Love the puzzle mechanic and the dynamics where Fire propagates. The whole game has a super nice mood with the music. There are food and wood indicators, but most of the time I'm too focused on the puzzle game to pay attention to them, and I usually die before due to tile placement rather than those countdowns going down.
Neat game 👌
Nice game. The chill music gives an odd feeling of being a true pyromaniac. However, during the game there was some moment that I was not sure what I was supposed to do, if keeping one live for as long as possible, or burn everything as fast as possible. It was fun.
The game is very fun, and surprisingly has a lot of spells and enemies and even a final boss! I also liked that different situations required different spells. I found the game very well balanced, to keep me entertained and quite challenging. I had to read the description of the game to understand that mana was recharged by deflecting projectiles, but then the game got pretty interesting. The music gave a nice mood, but I wished it matched better with the quick action of the game later on. I also didn't expect the ending, but I liked it. Well done!
Cool idea and good looking game. However, I find the camera makes the game very frustrating to play.
Nice action game! It's very fun, but I found it a bit hard. I'm not sure if it's intended but when you lose, you still keep the money, so that let me step up my gear.
Totally loved the voice acting.
Really nice game! The whole introduction and levels are really great. I wish you could skip the tutorial of a level when repeating it though. The overall mood is great and graphics give a good aesthetic all together.
I didn't like much the mechanic of moving up & down, and just with everything fitted in a single screen. I kept forgetting about the immunities, until I saw they were shown in the menu. Something more intuitive would be great (matching color?). The game can also be "cheesed" if you pause constantly.
Overall I really liked the game, and looks very polished. Well done!
Cute and fun game! I love the whole style around the cheese, and the music is very catchy. It's really nice to see such a finished and polished game within a Jam. Well done!
Really nice idea, love it! It's like a reversed way of playing a Dungeon Crawler, where you control the placement of random objects, and the game actually controls the player. I would love it if it was clearer where the next cards can be placed, but it's a great game you made for the ludum dare.
Starts a bit easy, but towards the end it gets more challenging and fun! If difficulty escalated faster, and then was held at that point for longer, would be pretty sweet.
The walls are really a 1-time trap, maybe it could be change into such, to make it clearer.
Congratualations on the game! This game has a solid mechanic (camera following the hook is pretty nice, while still moving the character), but I love the level designs with its progression. The overlays and texts are short, and help you understand what's going on, what you need to do, etc.
I reached a weird point, were I just ignored the fish clown and saw how far I could make it, so I shortcutted all that part and got the green key super fast. In the end, when going deeper, there was some part that didn't have water, and my character glitched into it, so I just walked to the golden egg. Weird. fish.png
Still, this is a great game with nice graphics, and overall fun, congratulations!
Interesting concept, and funny movements all together, I love entries that get so creative.
At the beginning I missed the sign with instructions, but you actually can fly back out again, and re-read it, so it was a nice surprise.
The music feels a bit repetitive, but the game is fun all together. Well done!
Nice entry! I was looking forward to see some game with the 'going deeper into dept' thematic. The whole animations are very juicy and satisfying to play. It's also nice that the music gets more intense towards the end, and also you need to decide at some point when do you stop upgrading your 'powers' and rather let debt stack up (although it's a bit weird that you need to give away debt to get those commodities)
Love the concept. I also appreciate you shared the technical details of the game. Simple yet powerful.
The smoothness of kill screen into the game is very creative!
Great game! I'm quite impressed by how many levels and ingenuity went into a LD entry. My favorite levels were 11 (I like these funny ways of advancing with more throughput/results than the simple way) and level 14 (The level needed a clever use of mechanics. I needed to take a step back after a few attempts and think a bit to come up with the solution).
I don't know if some levels are a bit trolling, or you can actually cheese them a bit, clearing them in simpler ways than it looks like (like 15 for example). This didn't make them any less fun, though.
I felt that I rarely actually used the checkpoints, or that I never knew if I wanted to take them (in case I had already screwed up the level before taking them). Also, having played 'Baba is You' made me miss an undo button, but can't blame it on this game.
The mechanics are introduced gradually and clearly, but it felt a bit weird to see a new mechanic and then seeing the next couple levels not using it at all. I also wished the game had some music or even just sound. It would add more life to the game.
This is by difference the LD48 game I've played the longest so far, keeping the fun all the time and not feeling repetitive. Well done overall!
Very nice simple but powerful mechanic. It took me few seconds to realize what's going on, but the result is super nice. Well done!
The game is great. I felt like some parts of the puzzle were extremely hard to pull out compared to others, but otherwise this is a great polished game. It's quite amazing that it's done in 72h. Well done.
Nice entry, and congratulations on #1 place, well deserved. I enjoyed discovering the idea a lot.
I had to watch some video later to understand what happened.
It's an interesting concept with good mood and a bit of humor. It get's a bit boring fast though, so I ended up checking the source to see if this was a full book in length, or what. Perhaps some more visual changes or effects or how the letters come would help, even if it was not the goal of the game. Still, it's a nice and very creative entry for a jam, Well done!
@cassowary It seems the itch.io page was created but not published. This is fixed now, thanks!
@local-minimum Thanks a lot for the kind feedback. I certainly appreciate the tips on pacing the dialog. I agree that adding some "..." pauses would help a lot, and I didn't know how to create this effect on the player at that time. I will take this into account if I do more games centered around dialog!
Amazing game, this is one of the best entries I've seen! It's amazing how well balanced this game is: The scope is small, but the theme, graphics, music, "story" with puzzles, and implementation is all great and cohesive, into a cheerful game. Did you get some inspiration from any particular game? The style reminds me of Minit. Good job!
Note: From the itch.io page you can add a tag that it's a LD48 entry with this link, and itch.io will put such link at the top of the page.
Nice game, it was fun from begin to end. I died once, but since scrolls give you better start items, it encourages you to continue playing. The core mechanic is somewhat simple but powerful, and well balanced. I didn't feel I had way too many of one tool or too few of the other. The funny scrolls give a nice touch of humor, and completes the game with the meaning of being 'too deep' messages, both metaphorically and literally for where they are found. Well done!
This was really nice! The graphics and music are really good, but I liked even more how smooth and well executed the whole "journey" or diving deeper felt. Congratulations on trying something new, this was a nice piece!
The games sets the mood from the beginning, and the dificulty is well balanced, while keeping mistery of going up. The light details on the water are SO nice and fit so well in the game. All together with the music games this a great experience. It's funny that fishes leave the spines behind. I only wish the game was a bit longer :).
+1 to eat all fishes until the ocean is a pixel :ok_hand:
Well done, this was a solid entry!
Nice game, this brought a smile to my face :). No issues when loading sound/music.
I liked the sound effects and that there's different stages. I specially liked that you offered a standard mode, which is curated and great for first time, and then survival for playing as long as you want. In the second stage, the 'cockroaches?' it was not clear that the red ones are bad and the gray (dead ones?) are good. However, this is learnt very fast after the first bites.
On the survival mode, I'd love some incremental challenge, like more speed the further you go, etc. Otherwise, it seems you can go forever without issue, and even more, when you go back to a stone level, the game feels like going too slow again.
Well done!
The game looks cute, and I like that you even implemented a whole store to iterate and upgrade your character. However, I don't understand why my snake takes damage at random times. It's also challenging to find enough food to survive. The game is fun and cute enough to make you wanna try again thought!
Funny to see such nice graphics for a 'terminal based game' :). My muscle memory for unix commands was definitely making this harder than it should, but the game was very nice!. It takes creativity to turn the everyday filesystem into a virtual world with 'creatures' and combat system, as well as the IP and character system to force the game to move. Well done!
Nice game, the perspective was interesting and the graphics and music set the right mood! When I arrived at the chest area, it took me a bit to realize that the treasure is already around, and that you couldn't open the chest (despite trying). I also realized only at the end that you can jump (I skimmed through instructions, and even though I saw you could, I forgot). The game is pretty interesting to beat with only dash and move :).
Well done overall!
Nice game. The music and the low light on the second level really sets the mood, and helps making it fun to continue searching for the next stairs down. It was hard for me to notice when my life was low, or that I couldn't hit the archers with the pickaxe, but the UI with descriptive text helped understand the options a lot.
The introduction of the boss is quite nice. I love being faced against huge bosses, and the last level was challenging and entertaining.
Well done!
Best idea I've seen so far, very lovely. The game is nice, although at some point it feel a bit too long, and I never thought I had to slow down, so increased difficulty or natural speed could help maybe. Some music would have helped a lot in the game as well(although there's no sound in space, I give you that). The particles effect when you crash against the dirt is really well done, just a shame that it's a bad thing in the game. Well done!
Nice little game, one doesn't know the dangers of exploring too far :). I didn't know what to expect, so I liked the athmosphere of going so deep and dark, with the surprising ending. Nicely done!
I also had this issue that I waited forever in the first scene, until I decided to break at some point. Then, the 'retry' button didn't work for me, so I had to start over again. The game was nice and fun otherwise. Well done!
Congrats, first game I see in Scratch on the LudumDare. As others mentioned, I wish I had more time to react to rocks, but you can get used to it. Overall it's a fun game!
The idea looks really cool and new, but I had so issues while playing the game. I liked the idea a lot, so I really tried to restart and play it again, but even so I kept finding softblocks that made me stop playing the game:
1. In the first scene, I died in high level of hallucinations, and the checkpoint was right next to a hand. This meant that every time I respawned, there was a flying hand right next to me chasing me. I didn't have time to breath to calm it down. I couldn't escape in time and then breathe. I had to restart the game.
2. In the second scene, I pressed 'Q' to go deeper in hallucinations, but it seems I was at a spot where a platform appears, so it pushed me down through the wall and left me alive out of bounds. I had to restart the game.
3. In the second scene, there were some stairs that go up. I kept climbing, and when I jumped up the map, It transitioned to a scene with the town. However, I didn't have height, so the character got stuck down the well or pit, a bit like #2, so I was stuck there and I had to restart.
I still find the game great in some categories, the music, art, and idea are really on point for the mood the game tries to give. I'm looking forward to these issues being fixed, because the game looks promising and I'd like to try the game without these frustrations. If there's more updates, I'll definitely come back to play again. Still, well done!
Nice game! I initially thought it would be just a normal arcade game, but I liked the spitting mechanics and how it progresses. I think it had a nice difficutly curve. The palette and music scale options are a nice addition, and overall was fun to play. I made it to 116 with a trackpad!
Very nice game! I love how it fits in the theme, even more so given that skiing season is ending in the north hemisphere. The controls feel a bit rough, but otherwise, it has a great mood and great nice cohesive visuals, giving it quite a unique personality. I really enjoyed this, congratulations!
The idea is simple, but the difficulty progression is really neat. I like how eventually, the game implicitly goes from managing the different cracks appearing, to be more of a quick reflexes game. Overall fun to play many times. The options to choose the palette are also a nice touch. Nice game overall!
The idea is simple, but the game ended up being way more fun that I expected. Those mechanics are really nice and keep you hooked! The game is very polished overall and looks great, congratulations!
The difficulty is tight making it for a fun challenge, but I can't seem to find what's the best balance between the different turrets. It would be nice to have some indicator of which placed turrets are which, or how effective different weapons are. The game also starts too abruptly after the webpage has loaded, which is a bit inconvenient. I enjoyed when it seemed that I was going to lose, but suddenly placing one more laser turret turns the game around, and goes from all enemies going through, to slowly recovering and winning.
I struggled to understand the game at the beginning despite reading the instructions. After playing for a while, I finally got it, and the game became nicer and interesting. The whole destruction of the place makes you rush and really focus on the tasks. I didn't become good at it, but I liked the strategy that the game allowed with just 3 materials, since it combines with a different set of tiles to build. As everyone mentions, meteorite indication seems like a must, otherwise it felt unfair every time one hit me. Nice game overall!
Nice game. I think the countdown going faster made it confusing to know how much time really was left and also knowing what your score is. But it also made the game challenging.
Nice game, it was clear what I had to do. I wish there was some better feedback on whether I'm actually watering the tree/fire, but otherwise it was good. Once fires started coming, it was clear fate was inevitable.
Lovely game! I personally loved the thematic. The graphics and audio make it very charming, and the gameplay feels right. I sadly couldn't try the online game, but will check again later, because playing alone was already very fun. Very nice compo entry overall, I enjoyed it!
Nice game; At the beginning it was not clear to me how to use the mechanic, but later it ended up being cool and creative!
Impressive art and polished result, I loved the introduction with the cinematics, and how the art music and gameplay ties very well together! The quality really seems that of a finished and published game. It's also very fun and interesting to play. Well done!
I liked the approach on this game. It was very simple, but loved the interpretation of the theme.
Very creative idea! I like how the reversal of roles in the Mario game fits well in this theme! The presentation is great, the game shines from art and juiciness.
I did struggle at the beginning to understand how places were build, and that you had to drag and drop the creatures to build as well, otherwise the "in progress" actually meant that nothing was being built. Once this was solved, the game gets easy quickly, since you can go arbitrarily far, and Bario doesn't get stronger, so you end up becoming too powerful.
Great game nonetheless, the core part really seems like almost a released game. Congratulations.
Nice game for such short time! I wish the beginning progressed faster, and the decision boxes started falling earlier too, that's when the game started getting more interesting. Sometimes the boxes felt random, so there was not much of a choice (one was clearly better than the other etc.) One last small details, is that it seemed that the enemy always emitted red particles, no matter if they took damage or did an action?
Regardless, the audio and the cinematics were super nice for a ludumdare game. well done and nice idea!
Very nice game here! I initially thought it was too simple, but I liked the time, resource and self-orientation in the map altogether. The game is also well polished as others said. My only issue, is that difficulty doesn't really scale after just a bit; My progression of turns left went something like 30 -> 60 -> 100 -> 160 -> 300 -> 650. At some point, it didn't feel that exciting anymore, and coming back to the fire felt like a chore, so I went to explore until the end, with +100 log resources. Then the falling of ALL tiles took like 2 full minutes maybe lol. Still, very nice game for a game jam.
I'd encourage you to expand the game if you can, even if just a little bit, since I can see the game gaining lots of value just with a bit of diversity and effort, on the already nice foundation you have. Congratulations overall!

Really nice game! The presentation is very polished, the graphics have great cohesive aesthetics and the music rocks and keeps the game active. I also enjoyed the introduction and progression of the game that came together with a story. Not so fun of trying to squeeze so much humor, but I do appreciate games with personality in the story. For being a jam game, it's impressive the amount of content that is presented in a story-driven way. I also felt the levels are very well designed, making great use of the mechanics, with the right level of difficulty, challenge, but not too frustrating. I wish perhaps that there was some visual indicator of when you still have a double-jump available or not, since some levels rely on you saving them until necessary. While the "medium" difficulty makes it not stressful about time, I appreciate that you can tweak the difficulty and play on an almost "non-lose" mode. Congratulations on the game!
Nice game! I actually kinda wished that a round lasted a bit more; there's good diversity of the minigames and I think they are well suited for the setup. I guess that when we're snoozing the alarms, time really feels shorter :^)
Nice game! I think it all builds nicely together to a cohesive game. The game good difficulty progression, and I like that it keeps introducing new enemies to keep it interesting. The collisions with the thorns were a bit weird, since I didn't fully know when they are effective when they appear. Still, it was fun to play, and I enjoyed the mood, even if a bit sad!
Very nice game! It took a bit to get used to the game and the controls (and even at the end, turning felt a bit weird), but the game became fun, addicting and challenging, with good progression of difficulty. The over design is absolutely great for a compo game. Congratulations on your game!
This was a nice game to play. At the beginning, I struggled to fully understand how the mechanics worked, and to see that the instrument slide, instead of getting a new set of instruments on each spacebar stroke. I never felt the time was tight, but on the B level, the instrument bar made it challenging! I felt that sometimes I lost unfairly, when I still had instruments to put on the board, but all those were already placed, so I had to waste them. Otherwise, it felt just nice. Well done!
Nice take on the theme! This was simple, but I liked it. I like how the urgency is applied to the well known cookie-clicker games. Even buying an upgrade that is further from the progress bar got challenging in further levels, since you get far from the default unload button. Very nicely done!
The graphics looked very simple initially, but it's compensated with nice polishing and effects, and most important, the game is **really** fun!
The initial progress is very well done, and the tutorial messages are a great way to fill the wait from the easiest levels into the next one, thus always keeping the 10 level. I felt that after level 40 or so, a steeper progression might have helped, but the game still gave continuous interesting fun gameplay for really long. Congratulations!

Nice game, and interesting combination of mechanics. Once you got the gist of it it was fun! I only found it a bit challenging, I found particularly hard to detach the box from the wall, but with practice it got easier.
The game looks really nice! While similar ideas have been in many games, I like that the character and entities positions are all the same, they just change their type, so only part of the game changes! Really polished for a jam entry, congrats!
Really nice and polished game! I felt that the 10 seconds time for each round played quite well, and it was very fun to play with the AI. I like the implicit mechanic that with the moving car you can be more risky, and try to end your turn closer to the enemy to then him it better when you swap roles.
I've barely seen any multiplayer game that also allows to play nicely as a single player, so congrats to that!
Nice and cute game! I like the aesthetics and style you added! I also appreciate a lot the in-game tutorial, this was well done!
The only thing, is that I wished the beginning was shorter, because it's a bit too long for the easy part, and if you die later, you have to start over. The later part got more interesting and challenging. I liked that you offered two paths many times, an easier one, and a harder with the oil reward.
Congratulations on your first Compo entry!
Nice game, the result is super polished for 48h jam game. The bosses felt a bit repetitive at some point, but that's compensated by the vast amount of weapons available!
Cute game! The introduction and the difficulty ramping is well done.
Really nice game, it looked very polished and the theme fits very nicely! The difficulty was a bit steep, it was pretty hard to make it past 01:30, but at least it was fun to retry. I don't know if the game has an intended ending, but if so, I'd suggest lowering the difficulty a bit. Otherwise this is a great entry and had lots of fun playing it!
It's a nice concept idea! However I found that for the designed levels it didn't make much sense to wait 10 seconds. Either you could complete the level before the change, or you moved for 1 second and then had to wait for 9 seconds, which becomes boring quickly. I also didn't like having to do blind jumps guessing where the platform ends. I think that with different levels, the game can be great. But it's still nice for a compo entry!
Nice game! I really liked how the theme fitted here! To many games have '10 seconds arbitrary life', but here the heatwave made for a nice reason, and gave a thematic look to the map and objects.
The map had a very nice progression, with gradual introduction of items that made sense. The amount of content and polishing is really well done for a compo, congratulations!
One caveat: I can't access the github page with the source, it returns 404. Perhaps is set to private. Can you fix please?
Super nice entry! The presentation is superb for a compo entry, and the aesthetics and music go well together! The 3-d runner on tiles gives me nostalgia of old games, and I appreciate some margin of error when stepping into the wrong tiles. This made the game much more fun to play. Well done!
I can't seem to play the game? When I click on the play, then I see the "- Click to play -" at the top...
Perhaps add a fallback link?

This was really nice and touchy. I like how strong is the implicit idea transmitted with the fast going cards.
The credits dedications must be one of my favorites so far too
Very well done, and thanks for this entry.
Nice game! Reminds me a lot of Minit, but this has more emphasis on preparing the path for incremental progress. The map and overall polishing is very well done for a compo game, and I had fun playing it. Congratulations!
Simple, but nice aesthetics!
It's an interesting idea and overall interesting combination of mechanics and theme. For being you very first game, this is outstanding, even more so given the time restrictions. Congratulations on that!
PS: What changed from the Compo submission to the current game in the itch.io page? I see that the source code is "updated", but can't tell how the source was at submission, now what was updated.
