Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD51 → 10 second switch (aka help my pain)

Interesting take on the theme, congrats on your entry!
i think it's pretty fun and interesting. the design of the levels are in general pretty good, but still sometimes I think that waiting 10 seconds for me to walk a couple pixels can be a bit too much. but all in all I really like the game! good job :D
Great game! I'd say it implements the theme quite well, despite the description saying it "barely" does.
It's a nice concept idea! However I found that for the designed levels it didn't make much sense to wait 10 seconds. Either you could complete the level before the change, or you moved for 1 second and then had to wait for 9 seconds, which becomes boring quickly. I also didn't like having to do blind jumps guessing where the platform ends. I think that with different levels, the game can be great. But it's still nice for a compo entry!
@albertnez I agree, I should of used the mechanic more often than I did! Thanks for the feedback!
Interesting game which fits with the theme. I like the minimalism aesthetic. Well done ++
Really interesting take on the theme and cool graphics. A bit too much waiting for the timer on some levels.
@lbrande Yeah, that was like the only thing that popped into my mind when I saw the theme lol! Anyway, I agree!
Great game love to play it with touch controls on a Phone or tablet.
@senso Lots of people said that too! I wonder why?
@damedevy just relaxed on the toilet with you phone. :) Tip: Look at your YouTube link is’s private.
Fixed YT link!
Was able to beat it! I think the jump sound seems to be in the update function or when the jump is detected - might be good to have it play only once on `JustPressed`. Also, if you don't want the yellow block to move after jumping on it, you could set `immovable=true;`
There was some interesting levels, but a lot of the levels can be beaten without waiting for the timer to finish. I think the best level was the one where there were a lot of spikes, and you had to jump at 10 sec to get to the floating islands, which you had to jump across before it was 10 seconds again. It would be nice to have a preview or so what what may swap so you have an idea of what to do before the 10 secs is up. Keep up the good work!
@aeveis Thanks for the feedback! I do know about the immovable variable but forgot to set it lol! I also forgot that I could of just used justPressed XD!
Nice job! It implements the theme quite well! The jumping sound isn't my favorite though
good game but I would suggest having it tell you when you die because I was confused and thought you made the same level three times over but then realised I just lost each time xD
Nice game! Feels a bit slow, but I know there's never enough time to polish jam games... Other than that the execution is pretty good (maybe, except for the jumping sound)! :D
I like the art style that you've gone with - minimalist and clean but it feels right. I especially like the inversion of the colours when the level changes. The puzzles are a good level of difficulty. Having to wait for 8 or so seconds at the start of a level every time you mess up is a bit frustrating but I can't think of any good solution for that aside from fast forwarding time (which would cause its own problems). Overall, good job!
I don't think this game works very well with the theme. It might be better if you could switch platforms whenever you want, but they would still only stay for 10 seconds.
Neat little game!
The art-style is consistent at neat.
Gameplay doesn't win huge points for innovation, but it was fun to play.
I like the jump sound :3
The levels are a bit long for the 10 second switching. A lot of the levels feel like mostly waiting. The one with the U shape in the white background is especially bad, since the optimal play is almost just waiting for 20 seconds. Also, because you can't see the next platform, there are sometimes "gotcha" moments where the change kills you because you guessed wrong, which makes you wait for another 10 seconds. I'm not also sure if I beat the game, since at one point there's just a white screen. I really do like the consistency of the graphics though.
Nice little platformer, great art style, and great use of the theme. Well done!
A good basis for a puzzle platformer. I enjoyed it, but a bit of refinement to the level design would've made the mechanics shine. The difficulty of levels was a bit all over the place, introducing new twist and mechanics to build on throughout may have helped give a more satisfying difficulty curve and better variety. My only other issue was the hitboxes of the spikes - kept hitting the invisible square corners and dying which was frustrating. I think a more creative mane would've improved my experience too; in my experience players will latch onto even a tiny bit of storytelling and create a narrative that you don't have to put much effort into.
This is a cool idea but it took me awhile to figure out what I was doing. Difficulty might be a bit high and while 10 seconds seems like it should be really short, it actually seems like a long time here. I'm not sure what I'd suggest doing differently here, maybe a way to speed the timer up or trigger it manually? Overall though, nice job!
