LD46 — Keep it alive

Feed The Pillar by SaxOps1 2020-04-22T16:44:31Z

Good to see other Godot games here! Took me a while to figure out how to not die instantly, but after I got the hang of it, it became an interesting challenge. I like this mechanic, but it might be a little bit too hard (I couldn't survive for more than 30 seconds). The energy could drain slower, or you could get more power from the wraiths or give them bigger hitboxes.

Human Spiderweb by miziziziz 2020-04-23T10:09:43Z

Now, that's a weird one, but I guess it's expected from Miz, if you know his other games...

The mechanics are good, the AI is smart enough (even tho it feels a bit unfair, that they can spot you from off-screen). The graphics and sounds are also high quality. I watched part of the streams as well, it was interesting to see how the game evolved. Good job!

Bonfire 🔥 by ColinBellino 2020-05-10T13:42:25Z

Smart little game, too bad you only had time for only a few levels, this game would be a nice time killer on a phone.

Garden Royale by J_C - One Bit Studio 2020-04-21T07:48:05Z

It's a good start, with a little more work it can be a good garden management game.

BOILING PLANET by Tudvari 2020-04-25T12:27:05Z

Neat little game, congrats! Took me a while to figure it out, but I enjoyed it nonetheless!

The Flame by sebastianscaini 2020-04-21T08:18:32Z

The graphics and the music are very nice, but I don't really feel that I have much impact on whats happening. Are there multiple endings or I just need to sacrifice everyone? :stuck_out_tongue:

Keep the Love Alive by notapixelstudio 2020-04-22T16:28:03Z

Good to see other Godot games! The game feel, the graphics and the sounds are just great! Too bad, I could only play alone. :slight_frown:

There's one problem, tho: your viewport settings are not setup correctly, so on a hidpi screen the game looks a bit weird.

LD46: Keep it alive by DavidPeterWorks 2020-04-22T15:50:44Z

Amazing graphics mixed with Debussy? 5 stars! Unfortunately, the game feel isn't very good, the jumping is a bit floaty and hard to control. The jump height depending on the carried weight is a good addition, tho.

I'd really love if this game would be further developed (and the jump was fixed), with more and bigger levels. Keep up the good work!

Conway's Garden of Life by davidsheadgames 2020-04-20T18:45:04Z

Oh, that's a pretty clever one, I really like it! I'd say definitely work on it more once the jam ended. Good job!

The Big Man of Purgatory by dnich013 2020-04-23T13:16:32Z

Instructions: feed Santa to Satan! It's a typical "ok, just one more turn, I swear!" type of game. It would be a nice way to kill time on a bus if it had an Android version!

Don't Drop The Egg! by rk3Omega 2020-04-21T14:46:59Z

I must admit that I'm not a fan of these kind of precision platformers, but still had fun with this. The music and graphics are just super. The jumping is satisfying as well, too bad I don't really have a "play area" like in the Mario games. In a nutshell: jumping good, always dying from the spikes bad.

LAIKA by m-trigo 2020-04-21T13:03:45Z

Cool concept and awesome graphics! Love for this game fills me with determination.

Legacy by tylerstraub 2020-04-23T12:34:17Z

I'm also using a hidpi screen, and can confirm that everything is too small. I couldn't really play, since the RMB didn't do anything with the card (I tried both the windowed and fullscreen version), so I could only insert a wrong one to the machine. But it seems like a good concept, also I like the programmer art.

Legacy by tylerstraub 2020-04-23T15:58:12Z

Oh, shoot, how did I miss that? Now it works, thank you!

Mr Ficus by KreGames 2020-04-21T12:56:51Z

Took me a while to figure out how to play, but after that I enjoyed it. With a little more work after the jam it could be a nice Ficus management game!

S for Squad by Asue 2020-04-21T08:30:04Z

Beautiful art and good music, but the gameplay is bit weird. Sometimes I just have to run around before I can shoot an enemy or heal. It would be better if I could choose if I want to move or do an action. I still like it, just this moving mechanic is a bit wonky.

Keep it burning by Leon Oost 2020-04-20T18:50:40Z

The voice acting is brilliant!

A.R.S - Alien Rescue Simulator by azagaya 2020-04-21T18:57:19Z

Nice graphics, music and gameplay. However I come across a bug, or maybe it's not a bug, not sure, how to call it. So, I'm playing on a 4K monnitor and everything is way too small, like half the size of what can be seen on your screenshots. But other than this, really good game, congrats!

A.R.S - Alien Rescue Simulator by azagaya 2020-04-21T20:01:58Z

@azagaya no worries, still playable, I just need to lean closer to the monitor

LudumBuster by gramozilho 2020-04-22T17:10:37Z

Throwing customers at the register is an interesting way to keep a business alive, I had a good laugh playing it! The sounds and graphics just added to this. Good job!

Automata by WhatNameGames 2020-04-23T13:06:14Z

It keeps amazing me what can people do in such a short period of time! Very good game indeed! I'm a big fan of Portal, and I think with a little more polish this game could be the next one!

Keep It Alive by DoctorTM 2020-04-23T12:26:02Z

Took me a while to figure it out (also had to check the comments for it), but it became interesting after that. But (maybe, it's just me) I think it's too hard, the fires goes out too fast and I need to run around like crazy, which makes it harder to explore. But other than this, it's a cool concept. Well done!

Little Red Riding Hood And The Good Spirit Of The Woods by Nogam 2020-04-25T12:38:37Z

Great game, the graphcs and the sounds are making a a nice atmosphere together. It's amazing what can people do in just a few days! Congrats!

Keep It Alive from nuclear explosion by IzhVaryag 2020-04-20T16:43:45Z

The graphics are nice but the game can be boring quickly. On a phone it might be better to kill some time while waiting for the bus or something...

DON`T DIE STAY ALIVE! by PenguinBob 2020-04-23T15:43:28Z

Argh, this game is so addictive!

The gameplay is simple yet fun. What's not fun is even if I only touch the last millimetre of the wooden part of the spear I'll still die. And as other's mentioned above, some indicator wold be nice, so we can know from which direction to expect the spears.

With a little more improvement it could be a really good mobile game. Keep it up!

This Fire Burns by Thrawn911 2020-04-20T17:36:13Z

Cool concept, but feels very unfinished. And, as others mentioned, it's very hard to find those sticks, my record is also only 3, with a couple of tries. With a little more work it can be a good old, scary horror game!

Something Fishy by sztrovacsek 2020-04-20T16:32:33Z

@davidsheadgames thanks for the feedback! Yeah... I was about to add a restart button, but totally forgot about it...

Something Fishy by sztrovacsek 2020-04-20T17:03:25Z

@ehe thanks. I used the **Godot Engine**.

Something Fishy by sztrovacsek 2020-04-20T18:47:24Z

@leon-oost hehe, thanks! Yeah, that was kinda the point!

Something Fishy by sztrovacsek 2020-04-21T07:56:13Z

@rk3omega thanks for playing! Yeah, that's the thing with jams, while I'm working on a game, I don't really have any idea what to do, but once I submitted it, I'm full of ideas and feel dumb how could I left one or another feature out... But I can still add them post jam, once the voting ended I plan to do an updated version learning from the feedback.

Something Fishy by sztrovacsek 2020-04-21T12:50:01Z

@kregames thanks! Yeah, the instructions aren't very clear. Next time I'll make sure to add a tutorial instead of a wall of text...

Something Fishy by sztrovacsek 2020-04-21T12:50:37Z

@asue thanks for playing! :slight_smile:

Something Fishy by sztrovacsek 2020-04-21T18:29:08Z

@azagaya thanks for the feedback. Ah, no I didn't mean it as a population control example, but you are free to interpret it however you like.

The game actually "pauses" when you open the Help. While the fish are still swimming, their hunger and the ocean's cleanliness is freezed until you close the Help.

Something Fishy by sztrovacsek 2020-04-21T20:06:06Z

@azagaya yeah, I was too lazy to implement a decent pause mechanic, so I just added a bool to the hunger and the cleanlines, which will be true/false depending on if the Help is open or not. :stuck_out_tongue:

Something Fishy by sztrovacsek 2020-04-22T15:56:48Z

@davidpeterworks thanks for the feedback! The cleanliness is actually visualized, I'm sorry, that you lost the motivation after 4 fish. :slight_frown:

When you have at least 5 grown up fish, the bar starts to fill up, the water starts being cleaner and more sunlight is coming in.

I planned leveling and upgrades, but since I worked alone I didn't have time to implement all my ideas.

Something Fishy by sztrovacsek 2020-04-23T09:51:18Z

@xyfeng thanks! I'm planning to make a post jam version, with the help of the feedback I got from the players!

@tylerstraub thanks! Yeah, I know about it, as far as I know it only affects the browser version, and I'm not quite sure what causes it, since I used the same build for web and desktop.

@doctortm thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Something Fishy by sztrovacsek 2020-04-23T12:02:55Z

@whatnamegames thanks for playing! :slight_smile:

@dnich013 haha, same, I wanted to make a game about dealing with fish for a while now, and LD was a good excuse to finally do it. Because of the time constrait, I had to left out many ideas, but I will continue working on it. And of course I'm planning a mobile version too!

@marcusnystrand thanks. Yeah, I couldn't really put all my ideas into it, but I'll keep working on it!

@guille thanks for the feedback. Well, there isn't any loosing condition in the jam version, if you don't have any fish left, you have to restart the whole game. But I will fix this in the post jam version!

@haro-games thanks for playing! :slight_smile:

Something Fishy by sztrovacsek 2020-04-23T15:27:14Z

@m-trigo thanks for the feedback! That's an interesting idea, I'll put in on my list and see if I can make it work!

Something Fishy by sztrovacsek 2020-04-23T16:02:44Z

@j-c-one-bit-studio cool, thanks for playing!

Something Fishy by sztrovacsek 2020-04-25T12:17:18Z

@ponypen thanks for playing! :smiley:

@nogam thanks! It was actually only 48 hours, since I totally missed the first day...

@fryer thanks! Yeah, I wanted a kind of Mona Lisa-ish mouth where you are not sure what are they might feel, glad someone noticed it...

Something Fishy by sztrovacsek 2020-04-26T12:01:21Z

@erehuc thanks for playing, glad you liked it!

@rodpraet thanks. Good suggestions, I planned to make animations, but didn't have time. I'll fix the out-of-screen-HP thing as well!

@reallyqbert thanks for your feedback. Yeah, I used the same build for the web and desktop versions, so those buttons doesn't really work in the web version. :grimacing: Many people said it before as well that it starts out really slow, so I'll fix that one as well!

Something Fishy by sztrovacsek 2020-04-28T07:23:15Z

@khofez , @gamescodedogs , @jesaipo , @greendinogames thanks for playing! :slight_smile:

LD46 by Zivfo 2020-04-23T12:17:11Z

Very good and polished game, the mechanic is easy to undertsand, but it gets harder to focus when more and more patient is coming in (or leaving). Good job on this one, keep up the good work!

Space Jam by ReallyQbert 2020-05-10T15:26:18Z

Good game for a first entry, keep it up!

Ignis Morty by dahoon studios 2020-04-22T16:34:46Z

Very good little game! The water/fire mechanic fits the theme perfectly. The graphics and sounds are giving it a nice atmosphere too. Good job!

Build with Haste by Fryer 2020-04-25T12:33:55Z

With a little more work it can be a fun addictive game, too bad you didn't have time to add sounds. I can imagine some blocks dancing to the rhytm of the music and you need to avoid them!

A Gleam In The Dark by Haro Games 2020-04-25T12:46:27Z

Nice atmosphere, and good graphics, I really enjoyed this one. Being alone at night in a forest with a fading torch sorrunded by wolves is a pretty calming experience!

Keep Pit Alive! by BunnyDen 2020-04-23T10:23:55Z

Lovely artstyle and animations, but the physics are a bit wonky. With a little more work after jam, it could be a nice platformer. Keep it up!

(I could only find 90 :apple: )

Train by bigassopper 2020-04-20T17:00:48Z

The links are working fine for me, now. I didn't think before that a train game can be cute, but it is. The graphics are cool (ok, I must admit I love pixel graphics :D ), the sounds are a bit dull tho, but overall it's a lovely train managemenet(?) game. :)

Don't Kill My Electronic Pet While I'm Away. by Camzen 2020-04-20T17:44:06Z

Cool little game. I really like the art style, too bad you didn't animate the sprites. The sounds are good as well. For a first game it's very good, keep it up!

SAVE THE DINOS! by marcusnystrand 2020-04-23T13:22:36Z

I just had a baby dino and then it was killed instantly... This game is harder than it looks  Cool concept tho, I like the graphics and sound effects. Good job!

Sourdough Starter Kit by Edearth 2020-04-22T17:01:34Z

Now, that's an interesting one, with weird physics, too... But, that's just makes it even funnier! Honestly, when I started the game, I thought what the hell is this. But then I started to figure out how to do it (after I had to restart, because my bag got stuck in the jar), and then I just kept going, adding the ingredients carefully, and shaking out the little bubbles. And I got my prize: I can bake bread now! Yay!

Rolling Chicken TD by RodPraet 2020-05-10T14:27:40Z

Nice game I want to see an updated version after the jam. Just when I started to get the hang of it, it suddenly ended... :slight_frown:

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

The door and the cap by vkaike2 2022-10-09T21:42:12Z

Love the graphics! The creator is right, the game is easy. I definitely didn't spend more than an hour trying to finish it. That would be stupid. *awkward laugh*

CONJR Rapid Text-to-Image by walaber 2022-10-04T17:00:06Z

Lol, this is truly the next generation of AI image generation (no humans involved at all)! :D

IN10S by sztrovacsek 2022-10-04T09:44:03Z

Hi @op-sidearm ! Yeah, I noticed it too late, I didn't have time to test the HTML embed here, but you can try the game on my itch page as well: https://sztrovacsek.itch.io/in10s I added a notice to the top of the description as well.

IN10S by sztrovacsek 2022-10-05T11:57:21Z

Thanks @andy-chen , glad you guys enjoyed it! :)

IN10S by sztrovacsek 2022-10-09T20:53:35Z

Thanks guys! :)

IN10S by sztrovacsek 2022-10-10T19:29:24Z

Thanks for playing @rjmarzec !

Haha, yeah, there might be bugs. It got a bit confusing by the end as to which value to change and when... :D

IN10S by sztrovacsek 2022-10-11T17:14:34Z

@sven-schoeling they just look cool, don't think too much about it... :D

10 second switch (aka help my pain) by damedevy 2022-10-09T21:15:51Z

Nice game! Feels a bit slow, but I know there's never enough time to polish jam games... Other than that the execution is pretty good (maybe, except for the jumping sound)! :D

Stalwart Planet Guard by rjmarzec 2022-10-10T19:33:30Z

This jumping mechanic is so satisfying! Also, great music and cute cats. And what a nice moustache to top it all off. The game is a bit hard tho, still, good job! :D

Web-Cleaner by Heming Ruan 2022-10-05T11:53:26Z

That's a unique game for sure. Took me a few rounds to get the hang of it (and I'm still not sure, if I'm doing it right). The art is very nice and the messages are funny, good job! :D

Helloween Survivors by MerlinPerlin 2022-10-09T21:29:54Z

Nice Survivor type (is that a thing now? :D ) game. Impressive, that it was made in only 2 days. Got a Highscore of 1316, but at that point there were so many things on the screen, that the fps dropped down to 3-4, so I couldn't do much... so, yeah, needs a bit of post jam optimization, other than this, good job! :D

ExperiMental by nilolo 2022-10-09T20:42:14Z

Very cool concept, would love to see a full version of it. It really ads to the tension, that I can never know what will be the next side effect: am I gonna dual wield and kill everyone, or my mouse will be inverted and I'm gonna be killed instantly... xD

Also, good to see more and more 3D games made with Godot! :D
