Hmmm... I didn't like the morale after a Game Over, it's a little bit excessive. Maybe I didn't find the other feature to avoid sacrifice ?

The game idea is fun, and both the visual style and the music is really good. I overall like the story elements, but I would have liked a story that depended more one what already have happened. But I found the ending to be pretty cool. Overall a pretty good jam game. Well done.

This game is really awesome!! I did like the tone to it, and the mechanics. I have to give props to the music, I do admit is was the thing that most amazed me! The graphics are nice, but they really do not pop up for me to be honest.... except the devilish dude that appears when you lose, that was handly drawn

The graphics and the music are very nice, but I don't really feel that I have much impact on whats happening. Are there multiple endings or I just need to sacrifice everyone? :stuck_out_tongue:

I Really like the narrative twist on an otherwise simple concept. It does feel a little repetitive at times when an interesting event is narrated but doesn't affect the gameplay or match the reward. The audio caught me from the first second, it's pleasing to the hears and fits the game very nicely!

This is a fun way to tell a story! The way the campers react when you pick them up is really fun. It's a bit weird when somebody chops down a tree but then finds nothing though... The endings were great, I played a second time and just threw everybody in the fire to see what would happen XD

The graphics and sound are really good. The sound especially helps set the mood. There's not much gameplay and I have no real agency other than picking a random person to go into the woods, recieve a random amount of wood, and if fire is low then add wood. Nobody seemed particularly better at gathering wood, so my choice there didn't feel like it mattered either.

A nice and moody experience! The end sequence is disturbing enough :D Art style is super cool, sound is awesome. I wish there was a bit more story lines and maybe even some choices? Overall it was a pleasant and unique experience. Well done :)

Such a huge team :D. Nice artstyle, good music, but there is not much to do. In my game I spent all the wood and then I was sending the people one by one into the forest. They never found a thing so I just lost. I don't see how that game can be challenging other than that you are battling a rng god. But if the idea was to say that its hopeless, that the night will come either way, then points to you :). Good job!

Sacrificed all my campers on my first play through 10/10

Great job on the game :D

Great game! Specially loved the music, gave the game a pretty good mood overall. The stories where also really fun to read, although I felt kinda frustrated when no one came with more wood :'v

Got bored -> Sacrificed all my campers -> Was not dissapointed!. Good job!

gamescodedogs 2020-04-22 18:29

Thanks for the game :) I love the art style (reminds me one sci-fi cartoon from USSR) and theme interpretation. Also I've got a Little Infrno vibe :) Wish you the best of luck!

Had to giggle at so many people sacrificing their campers in the comments, I did it too. "You don't find any wood, you become the wood", I thought that was pretty fair. And holy moly that ending, that was some seriously great stuff. Second (and third) time I "stood my ground" (which I assume is the victory), which I think really is a brilliant take on the theme. And a brilliant execution on top of that. The horror writing was on point, as well as the varied character design. All in all an amazing entry, great job!

its fun when all burn, and the devil comes!!! fun game!

louiejams 2020-05-09 14:30

Really great and fitting soundtrack, found out in the second playthrough you could sacrifice the campers! I got a few repeating mini stories in the same playthrough and many, many turns without wood, I'm wondering if there's a limit to how much you can find and eventually you HAVE to sacrifice the campers? Really nice art, clever how it was mostly done on one screen, I like the chalky portraits when telling the mini stories! Good job!

Loved the concept and atmosphere right from the spooky intro song (I LOVE IT, I still have it playing in the background).

Execution was solid for the most part, but I missed some continuity between events that could have taken the game from "cool" to "brilliant".

For example, I got a really interesting result in theory once, affecting one of the campers. I was expecting that event to carry over and affect the context back at camp, or perhaps some other future events, but unfortunately that never happened. Even worse, I sent the same guy again to the forest and the exact same happened to him twice.

This inconsistency lessened the impact of the ending I got. I'm curious about what other commenters have mentioned, so I'll be replaying this.

Despite this, I really liked what you set out to do. ¡Great work!
