It's a bit unclear how you actually go about building it and there are some issues with where you have to stand to hit some of the rocks as well. You really captured the feeling of turn of the century tech with those mini-games, and the feel of working in an office environment! I liked Gamer Emily a lot lol. Great dialogue, very funny stuff. A bit too much hanging around waiting for tasks sometimes, but that also makes it feel like working in a real office, so... I gave up on the smoking pretty quickly so I think I missed out on a lot of characterisation there, but it just didn't seem worth the money and I kept accidentally triggering smoke breaks when I was trying to do other things.

Amazing - gorgeous art, atmospheric music and sound effects, compelling gameplay, and a good pace of introduction of new elements which were quite easy to understand intuitively. Presenting the instructions the way you did was very clever, added to the immersion. And very fun dialogue/voice acting.

If I had a complaint it is that the substations come up too quick, I was saved by them a couple of times where I feel like I should have lost - but I suppose it is a good level of difficulty for a jam game.

Probably one of my favourites I've played, really well done.

I was nearly at the end before I realised that the summoning circle colour (and letters?) is also a clue, before that I had a few that seemed unfair because there was an exact match for the items that was wrong. I also didn't really get much out of the tapes - I guess each entity has a sound associated with them, but because I only listened to the tapes when I was stuck I didn't pick up the associations. My fault really, since the intro did tell me to listen to them!

Really great, I love the look of it and the puzzles. I'm not sure all the mechanics were introduced well though, I think I breezed through the level that introduced "waiting" and when I needed it on the first level with the lamp I had forgotten I could do that and couldn't get in sync with my djinn dudes to exit. I will be giving it another go though because it's really well put together otherwise and the levels that I got to so far were a decent challenge.

Maybe the curve in the opacity change could be weighted to change very rapidly at the very edge of wakefulness.

This is really cool, it sort of boils down the genre to its basic elements. Unfortunately it doesn't really become challenging at any point. If the difficulty ramp continued I think this would be really compelling gameplay - as it is I've played to room 25 and I kinda want to go back for more.

Great aesthetic as well, very clear communicative iconography.

I'm sure it goes without saying that some audio would improve the sense of reward for the player's actions and increase the longevity of the game.

I hope you build on this because I'd love to have it to play on mobile.

I thought you were going for a gameboy thing, but then there is some pink as well... It also seemed like bullets were going through slimes quite often. Great concept and the graphics are really gorgeous. Quite tough, but fun, and very satisfying when you coordinate a sequence really well. The "desyncing" is definitely not fixed unfortunately, and when you get to the part above the starting area it becomes a big problem as the clones rarely make it to where they are needed.

The art in this game is gorgeous, and it feels extremely polished with the UI effects. I like that the sock patterns don't move with the character, and change its ear colour, it's a small thing but it's a cool look! It really needs some sound so that I can leave it running in the background when the skunk goes to sleep, but know to go back when it wakes up - plus it would really just finish off an excellent game.

I really love the visual style and the music, and the gameplay concepts are quite unique and interesting (spending health to grow the level at least!). I didn't really like the way the shooting works, and trying to kill enemies with the bombs was also quite frustrating as some of them are a bit erratic it seemed to me. Bomberman style bombs might have workeed better maybe... After reading a few of the comments it sounds like the combat mechanics change a bit as you progress, so I might have to take another crack at this one.

Ahh this f**king guy again: the game. Really good but really hard, I couldn't get past the gamma sector but I reeeeally want to because the story is so intriguing! I think it needs an option to invert the y axis controls, I couldn't really play it with a controller because of this. I was able to invert them on the keyboard which made it a bit more intuitive for me at least. The colliders on the asteroids seemed to be a bit off sometimes, usually in my favour but sometimes not. Minor issues though - a stylish, addictive game with a very interesting story.

The gameplay's quite good too, and I could see it being expanded into having additional dimensions revolving around organising a resistance, making contacts with sympathisers and avoiding attempts at infiltration and the like. The "life as currency" aspect doesn't really seem to come into it as it is, except as an aspect of the backstory.

Good game overall, great writing, really sucked me in.

Good concept. The art is a bit of a mishmash of styles and resolutions, which I'm not a fan of, but overall it is put to good use, and with the audio creates the desired atmosphere quite effectively. The gameplay doesn't have a lot to it as it stands, and ended before I even really got to use my gun. Like others, I was very confused about what was a platform on level 2, while there was a clear separation between foreground and background on level 1. The character also seemed to move more slowly on level 2. It's a shame it ended so quick anyway, I would have liked to have seen more.

Really nice art and clever gameplay concepts. The back and forth to the medkit dispenser gets a bit frustrating after a while. I guess you can chuck medkits across the level to avoid that a bit, but it often didn't go well for me! I would probably reduce all the zombies to one hit kills and increase the movement speed a bit, I think that would make the gameplay a bit faster paced and more satisfying. I really appreciate the reversal of the standard FPS mechanics anyway.

Great aesthetic and interesting concept. I can really see a lot of potential in this game. Unfortunately there are a couple of issues that detract from the fun a bit. The first is that you can find people that seem to match the description, but turn out to not be the target, and there is no way to rule them out without losing points. I think there should only be one match each time. Maybe there could be smaller details that could distinguish between close matches later on, but if all you´re given is hair, hat, glasses, then anybody with those details right should match. The second is probably a bug, and maybe only effects me, but the "black" hat and glasses are actually grey. Finally, I don´t like the way the camera moves, pulling in towards the character and stuff - I´m trying to look around damnit!

Beautiful game and story. So much art and mood and small character building details packed in for such a short space of time, I don't know how you do it. I initially thought the end of the first day was an ending and thought things came a little out of the blue, but after playing on I realise that you incorporated the idea of replaying into the game itself, which is something I really appreciate. Another thing I really like is the small degree of movement of the art with the mouse, it really adds a lot of life.

Really nice art and good gameplay. I liked that there were multiple routes through the levels (or at least semi-secret areas, maybe I ended up going the same way to the actual finish in the end, I'm not sure). It added a nice exploratory dimension to the game, especially at one point where I actually didn't have enough charge to activate something, so I was forced to find more first.

I had a few problems with getting stuck on things, or not stuck on things, in the case of the moving platforms. It's also very quiet - if you don't have time to make music I would recommend finding some royalty free, I believe it is not against the rules for the jam as long as you exclude yourself from the Audio rating, which you have done anyway.

Good game overall anyway.

Really gorgeous and fun game. I might have preferred more direct control of the ship, it had a tendency to spin weirdly. The autopilot also seemed to get very confused on occasion. Minor complaints though, I really enjoyed the game as it is, and even without the combat it was a very serene landscape to cruise around.

Like a few other people have said I found the slave thing a bit odd, and thought I was collecting planks of wood, which made sense in my mind as constituting the "life" or "health" of my ship, whereas being destroyed because I run out of slaves doesn't make much sense to me. On the other hand, trading planks of wood for weapons probably wouldn't make a lot of sense either... 🤷

This is a nice addition to a stream for sure, and I think the pace is about right for it. I don't think adding speed really achieves anything, because the character just moves randomly, so extra speed just makes them run into the enemies faster - and they also get stuck on the walls a lot. I think it should be some other stat, or maybe temporary powerups or something.

Good game overall though, and the first time I've played a twitch overlay game for Ludum Dare!

That's a pretty cool combination of genres. A good improvement would be to have more and faster paced enemies so that dodging and quick aiming would become essential. The enemies that are there are a bit plodding and easy to pick off - I basically just parked the princess while I dealt with them and then carried on again.

I'm not sure what to do about the mix of prefab and new assets. The audio in particular does create a good mood though, and I like the transitions and stuff in the intro.

I think this is my favourite of the tower defence hybrids that I have played. The balance of the towers and wave size feels very good, like I was always at risk of being overpowered, and having to do laps in a car is definitely incompatible! But having the car also be a weapon is a nice way of bringing the two genres together. Unfortunately I think the car feels a bit slippy - not so much that you can't get used to it for the plain track of level 1, but when I saw level 2 I knew it was going to be a disaster. Good work overall though, I found this really compelling.

Very fun, I really like the way the intro and game over are blended with the game environment. The physics are a little bit wonky even for this type of game but it didn't impact my fun. The art is really great with a nicely unified palette. I guess it could have been clearer when I was failing or winning? I think I succeeded at the meatballs bit and that was the end of the game, but I'm not entirely sure from the feedback the game gave me. Great entry overall anyway.

I like the character art and animation, but the upscaled background art does not look so good. The concept behind the core gameplay mechanics is cool, but I found the actual text entry interface a bit confusing - the textbox often didn't clear as I would expect and I wasn't sure if my input was being accepted. The robots were also not much of a threat, it was pretty easy to give them the run around. I was also able to sit right between the "boss" robot and his screen while I transcribed their convo, which was pretty funny.

Nice game. I was just getting bored with the single button sequences when the two-button sequences began to appear - I would say they should maybe start a bit sooner. Missing the sequence for the spike pit did not seem to have any negative effect, which I'm sure is just a minor bug. The graphics are great but the knight animations could use some up & down motion, like the witch has. Music and sound are also great. Good work overall!

Really nice art, great colour choices. Music is really great as well. I really enjoyed the gameplay - there are other tower defence/platformer combos in the jam, but I haven't seen any where you platform *as* the towers! My only criticisms are that it wasn't clear to me what was causing damage to my towers, and the upgrades don't hang around quite long enough. There is also a bug that causes the game to become unplayable if a tower drops off the bottom of the level. Great entry overall though, I hope you will give feedback on some other games to draw attention to to it.

There's lots of fantastic details in the art of this game, like the lights on the car and on the character portrait. It really captured the mood of driving at night. Just excellent art in every respect really. I especially liked the colour choices, quite similar to those I chose for my own game, but put to much better use here :) I really liked the story as well, but if there were supposed to be alternate endings I couldn't find any way of getting the second one without crashing. My only real criticism of this game is that sometimes after clicking a dialogue choice the car controls didn't want to accept my input, which was quite frustrating. Perhaps on mobile, which this game seems to be intended for, this would not be a factor.

This is fun! The graphics are very cute, especially the way the enemies walk. There could do with being some more environmental details, but it is understandable that their isn't considering this is a compo entry.

On the gameplay front, the only real problem is that the aiming feels a little off - I guess there is some ideal distance at which you will hit an enemy in the centre of the screen, but if they are too close you have to aim slightly left. I also think the card element is underdeveloped in favour of the FPS side of the gameplay. I think in most card based games you would be able to choose from a selection of cards each turn, and it would be really cool to see something like that introduced to this game, if you continue to develop it, along with more card types, more status effects, cards that act on the player etc.

Overall, a very nice looking game in which I can see a lot of potential, good work!

I only got to level 39, but I had a blast! The combat in this game is incredibly satisfying, and there is an impressive variety of enemies and weapons. The pixel art is great, very alive and fun, great colours, with a good separation between gameplay and background elements. The music is also fantastic. If I had to criticise something I guess it would be that the weapons didn't really seem to have any difference between them gameplay wise, and it would be a nice addition to allow some choices there. Other than that I really have nothing negative to say, I loved this game!

It's a neat concept, but it's quite tough to make progress by either golfing or flapping. I basically hit every obstacle on the way to the hole on each of my three or four playthroughs, except for one that I managed to fly through. Part of the problem is the gaps are too small and part is that there seems to be a bit of a lag between pressing Z and the power/lift meters registering the input.

I really liked the audio on the rhythm part, especially the "picking up an electric guitar" noise when you first enter it, but I think some other sound effects for the rest of the game would have been nice. Overall a really great combination of genres and a fun game.

Really great aesthetic, both art and music. I was hopeless at the trivia because of the subject, but I can understand you had to narrow it down to a single thing. I managed to survive for quite a while just collecting the cash off the road. I honestly didn't find the driving part to be too much of a challenge or distraction from the trivia - using the laser is not that punishing and also pretty much required in many cases where there is no viable way to dodge the obstacles, and the whole thing is too slow moving to really take your mind off the trivia effectively. Good game overall though.

Top notch - great art - everything nice and bouncy and fun, great concept, well polished, good music choice. But my favourite aspect was how the different plants required different strategies to deal with them. The only thing I'm not sure how I feel about is how quickly the crops disappear after they fruit, it feels a little bit unfair, and doesn't leave a lot of scope for strategically picking up and planting more seeds because you really have to be ready to harvest right away. Great game overall though, definitely one of the best I've played.

In terms of game genres I guess you've combined a visual novel with a walking simulator, or perhaps TWO visual novels with a walking simulator, as well as situating one of narratives as a movie within the game, so that is really quite interesting. My main criticism would be that the text moves a bit slowly for me, but perhaps that contributes to the sense of ennui and impotent frustration that the gameplay evokes. It might actually be nice if the choices in the "movie" controlled the camera and took you where they described. As it was, I just walked around the room a bit and then stopped and just did the text stuff. Overall a really successful experimental mood piece. Good work!

I can't believe this is a compo game, it is so well thought out and polished. The art especially is gorgeous, and very readable. Hitting the attacks felt really satisfying when I got into the rhythm, and very frustrating when I was missing it! I think that is the norm for rhythm games though, and I suck at them. I did find that I could just hammer the z key if I was stuck and that got me by. The writing was great, very funny stuff :) The music was nice, but a but short, it started to get on my nerves a bit after a while. Overall a really great entry!

Also I read in a comment here that the ingredients had to be in order, which might explain why several times that I thought I had all the ingredients right, nothing happened. Wow, so much content in this game! The sound effects, music and graphics are all really great, and work well together to create an epic, fast paced mood. The gameplay is a lot of fun, but something feels a bit off about how the aiming is handled given how closely the enemies trail you. Some of the cards were quite hard to use because of this as well (spikes, boulder), though on my second play through I realised there was a lot of synergy between those and the teleport card - create some distance with teleport and then drop a rock on 'em! I didn't get a chance to try it, but I definitely appreciate the thought that went into the deck, in this and other synergies.

Overall a really excellent entry, good work team!

That art is absolutely gorgeous - great silhouettes and bold monochromatic scenes that, along with the excellent music, really evoke a different mood for each activity. On the other hand, the interactivity is a little bit lacking - it could use more audio and visual feedback for the clicks, and a lot more indication of how the difficulty is increasing and how the upgrades are helping to counter that difficulty. Also, if death is inevitable, as I think it is (?), a scoring system and some scope for approaching the game strategically would increase the replayability a lot.

Overall a really great entry, and I look forward to seeing more from you guys in the future.

Fun concept! I was a bear and I'm not sure if there were any birds around, but I think I messed things up for other people a few times by accident :P I really like the idea of some players subtly undermining the others. It might be a bit too easy to do for a few of the challenges though, and just lead to a stalemate.

There were a few bugs, but hard to avoid that when putting together an online multiplayer game in a few days I'd imagine!

Nice balancing act game, but I think a little unfair - I think a game like this should cheat a little to ensure that the orders are actually fulfillable. I think I would prefer purely mouse driven gameplay as well - there is plenty to think about between watching the orders, what is coming through on the belt, and what you have already dished up, without also having to worry about where you are and what you are picking up (or not). But maybe that is just me!

The animations and other art in this are really great and the cutscenes especially make it feel really polished. The game loop is good, but starts to feel a bit grindy after a while, I think because there are not that many places to explore or higher rewards being dangled in front of you. There isn't really even any incentive to explore around the mansion because there's so much stuff between the start point and the exit, and for a similar reason I'm not sure why I would bother with the maze. The music is good as long as you don't spend too much time shopping :P Overall, a very promising game.

Great idea, but a bit boring after a while. I didn't find it much of a challenge to avoid the cliques that I was not currently posing as, and I think what this game needs is for it to be almost inevitable for there to be some loss of reputation now and again, otherwise you can just do one group, then the next, and so on. I think it needs to be more of a balancing act. I don't really have any suggestions for how to achieve that though. I liked the different mechanics per clique and especially the change in the music, very fun ideas.

Tough game, but addictive! It would be really cool with some appropriate artwork for the crowd and the scene, but I can't fault the gameplay or the concept aside from the difficulty. On the issue of the difficulty, maybe having some way to recover from being hit or even to intercept shots before they reach the mayor would be good ways of reducing it while also introducing new ways of interacting with the game. Very well done overall!

That's a lot of fun, the art and animations are really amazing, and I'm impressed you were able to put together so many little scenes for the endings. There's not a lot of audio, but what is there is just right and really adds to the game. My only criticism is that the buttons on the alarm dialogs do not work properly - you have to click on the text instead of the button. But that's only a very minor thing. Great game, well done!

It's a shame you are not allowing ratings on that :( The gameplay is definitely lacking something. I've nothing against lots of clicking, but I think it needs some variety - occasional opportunities to clear the wave in a click, power ups to increase your area of effect or change the mode of play, things like that. Also, more immediate and rewarding feedback for successfully cleared banditos would probably help the game feel better - currently they just disappear...

I have some issues with the controls as well - I think space should be jump, and w to change rooms, and dismissing the text boxes was weird. Great game overall though, it really had me scratching my head in the adventure game tradition!

The level design was good, and introduced new mechanics well, but I might have liked to see more puzzles with paths on two or three different planes - that was sort of hinted at at the beginning but I don't think it really came into play later.

Cool idea, and the graphics are great. However, I didn't get a lot out of the main mechanic. I pretty much just spread out my archers before I started and then let it run. There's a few things that I assume are bugs that make it a bit unbalanced. On the top, left and right the archers wiped out almost everything in one volley. On the bottom,, they never fired a shot. It crashed on the fifth round in both the WebGL version and the Mac OS version.

Despite all that, I quite enjoyed myself. The game has an appropriately epic feel.

My strategy was to grind the spawn point in the first area (dying repeatedly) until I had enough scrap for three or four chests, then do a full run on it. I can't even imagine playing it in the roguelike mode. Unfortunately there are a few bugs and aspects of the gameplay that make it frustrating. After playing a while the pellets no longer entered my body, though I was able to fire them still. I couldn't travel too far from the cells without getting lost. And I would suggest making it possible to destroy the viruses rather than just knocking them away, otherwise I think being overrun quickly is inevitable.

With a few changes I would like to play more of this.

I found it hard to distinguish between enemies that needed two hits and those that needed only one hit, so I was always throwing in extra punches (which I assume has combo consequences, though I couldn't really tell what was going on with the combos anyway). I felt like there wasn't enough opportunity to build up cool back and forth combos because the enemies mostly came in one at a time.

Overall, a fun, good-looking game with clear potential to be even better.

I think it needs a combination of more direct gameplay instructions and visual feedback on what is happening (e.g. if I lower the tide to collect my lobster pots and it doesn't add to my food, is it because I didn't wait long enough, or not lower the tide enough, or did they rot, or what?).

I enjoyed it though, it's pretty cool.

As somebody else said I had to fiddle with some permissions to get the mac version to run. You can probably avoid this in the future by using standard zip instead of 7zip, or just not compressing the mac build at all.

It's rewarding hearing the music become more intricate as you progress, and your weapons become sort of a light show as well. I think the difficulty curve is reversed though - it's very hard to get started, and becomes ridiculously easy after a couple of upgrades. Cool game overall.

Rars are bad for mac software anyway because they lose some of the file permissions and can't launch until you go fiddling around in their internals.
