Is this what my antivirus goes through every day? Good gosh!

I loved the satisfaction of standing in front of where the firewall goes and just watching the viruses suicide rush into me. Of course, that only worked in level 1. I couldn't keep up in 2 enough to do that.

I eventually died on level 3, but I ALMOST HAD IT! It was really fun! Nice take on 'small world' also, I like outside of the box stuff!

Nice entry, lot of good stuff, but since its constructive criticism, i'll focus on the bad.

I dont get the playable char, had to think it twice to understand where it was facing. Controls are character oriented, I think they should be relative to the camera.

I liked the spiders and their anims.

Nice Game :), Rated

Haha, this looks like my computer few months ago, virus was winning. I like the idea, graphics are good, mechanics are coded well. All 5

Pretty fun! I like the satisfying feeling of ramming into enemies and making them explode into a nice puff of virus smoke. I'm not sure why, but it seemed like I still lost when the health bar got only halfway down instead of fully. I'm thinking it might be a bug (a real one lol, not the purple bugs)? I initially assumed it's because there might be a time limit to put the pieces in their slots, but it doesn't seem to be the case. Either way, I enjoyed it!

Very nice game! But when you stay near the spawn of _bugs_ it get's a bit weird, since you isnta kill them on touch.

quaternius 2017-05-01 23:20

Nice idea ! If you kill the spiders quickly and stand on the spawn they just die over and over , maybe some immunity seconds would have fixed this issue :)

morbidcamel101 2017-05-02 01:03

Excellent!!!

impbox 2017-05-02 03:20

Gameplay was pretty uninteresting, just drive into the enemy to kill it and they're all the same. Controls were a little awkward, having a player character with a bit more obvious direction would be good. The art and bug animation was really nice. Sound effects were painful but the music sounded good. Maybe some different types of enemies would be good. And the enemy respawn was odd.

I love dem wiggly lil spiders, and the way the player character moves, although it could use some sort of light arrow on top of its head pointing forward, could make it more obvious where you are facing. Took me a bit to notice where the computer chips fit on the first stage, and in a later stage I couldnt always tell what parts were loose, but that could arguably be part of the game. All in all a fun lil arcadey thing! Played it on stream here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/139473859 (starts at 57:30)

I couldn't figure out how to beat the last level, but overall this is a fun game, and the art is really great.

Really neat concept! I included it in my Ludum Dare 38 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_P7M7EgUphM

Very well done! Unfortunately I got a crash system on the level 3 . I had fun anyway, the graphics are pretty cool. The animations are great. There is something weird with the controls, I had a hard time understanding how to move forward , you should make the movement relative to the camera.

photon 2017-05-18 22:09

Very cool! Its not immediately apparent what the goal is though and some placement pieces are easy to miss, but once I got the hang of things it was fun and it controlled very nicely. Good work!

Also, its fun (if not slightly confusing) to sit in front of the spawn on level 1. :P

mati 2017-05-18 22:29

It took me some time to realize how to get the pieces (I got it accidentally a couple of times), but I was enjoying the game anyway - I did even more after the realization :) Good job on the graphics/atmosphere

It was a short but well done experience. The models and music worked with the mood of the game very well, although the explosion sounds were a bit too noisy for my liking.

The presentation of MicroCHIP was alright. It's always good when the games have some sort of explanation or backstory. Helps to get the people pumped up or in *the zone*.

Gameplay wise, the game delivered increasingly difficult levels, with more pieces to collect and more health loss as a result of more spiders. It's not super hard, but I still found it appealing. If your team decides to further expand this project later on, you could try adding other kind of enemies or obstacles to force the player to prioritize repairing or dealing with different viruses.

All in all, great work! Team [Whales and Games](https://twitter.com/WhalesAndGames) had a fun time with MicroCHIP. We hope to see more from you in the future! :whale:

Beautiful game. The circuit board and the components look amazing. Nice gameplay, though I found it difficult to actually find the piece to pick up. The sound is really good too, but I felt the sfx was too loud compared to the music. Overall, really good game, great work guys!

lyxil 2017-05-19 20:53

Graphics are awesome! Well done :) I think the controls aren't very friendly, though, I would prefer if they were a simple up-down-left-right than oriented to the player character. It took a little bit to figure out what part is the face.

spacesparkle 2017-05-19 21:48

Great graphics and especially the animations, I would love to see some on the character model as well. Game is polished although a bit bland. Maybe one gameplay mechanic would give it enough depth to make the game truly stand out. The sounds were enjoyable.

The idea itself is very interesting, I wish there was more depth, because I can see potential in this game.
