Nice entry! The mechanic of throwing a sword is implemented very well and felt great. Enemies are balanced, it took some challenge at places but the game is not that hard and feels just right. Еhe only flaws I could find are inability to switch to fullscreen(kept clicking outside of screen many times) and some graphics stuff which is not a big deal.

Great concept haha

The controls were a bit frustrating at times, but the game was very fun! The artwork is outstanding.
I beat level 4 and the victory music played on loop and nothing happened, so I guess I won?
Very nice concept, great game!

Good graphics, nice audio, creative gameplay. I think its thought for being played on a touchscreen. Using the mouse was tricky to activate the launching GUI so many of my launches went wrong so it was frustrating sometimes. Excelent entry!

@alchemic I've now fixed the bug where the game ends at Level 4 instead of Level 5. Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention. (:

@macdoom We realized that the core mechanic would make a fun mobile game midway through development, but wanted to work with a traditional Windows/Mac distribution since we were more familiar with that. I'm not sure what specifically made the launches difficult for you, but if it was due to dragging the cursor outside the game window, I just released a version that allows for fullscreen mode to prevent that. Really appreciate the feedback!

@Elowan I managed to beat Level 5! Thanks for fixing that so quickly!
Hey I was able to play your game tonight @gamesmartt :D Had a lot of fun, though I wish the princess took more than one hit to turn into a slime hehe. verrrry tricky! Good implementation of the sword throwing mechanic and fun music.

Great game! Thanks for bringing it by the stream!
@JCMonkey Thanks for taking the time to play it!
@Alchemic Thanks for coming back and giving it another shot! Really appreciate that :D
@Rebecca Kremer Thanks for the feedback! We're contemplating whether to keep working on it and polishing it, so your feedback is really important :D Glad you had a good time :)
@erebus No worries! Was nice to see your reaction to the princess getting killed by the sword etc. and we will take into consideration all the feedback that you gave. Thanks for giving us a try on stream!
A very complete game, and probably one of, if not the, most fun games I've played the LD. Personally I had some difficulties with the controls, based on if you started your click and drag close to edge of screen, you weren't able to continue dragging "off screen" and as a result couldnt get the maximum velocity on the sword. One possible solution to this would be to add a cancel button (maybe right click), so that I can cancel and "regrip" the screen if I find myself in the situation. I found the game quite hard but I think I would have completed if I gave it more time, so seems a good difficulty. Almost all aspects of the game were really impressive! One small tip would be to slow down text if you want the player to read it, it disappeared far too quickly on that first level. Awesome effort and game!!
I think the art and sound are amazing. The Mechanic of the game is really cool. I feel that enemies slow down the sword to much. I guess you wanted it possible that I can save the princess really closely. Thats cool, you can try out this: pressing the left mouse button makes the sword stop moving in air and just fall down straight. That could create those cool and close moments as well, but more often. I think the load up distance (for the max sword velocity) could be shorter. just like dan I often got out of the screen and couldnt do what I wanted to do, because I was bounded by my screen size :(
Apart from those two minor things, this would be great on the app store with some luck its the new angry birds ;) Cheers
@Honest-Dan Thanks for the detailed review and playing our game on stream! Really got some good feedback and also your reactions helped us judge what was good and what wasn't. We're in the process of deciding whether to keep moving on with it, so your feedback will really help us out. Thanks a lot!
Thanks for your feedback @BlueMirror ! Yes, we are currently working on polishing and fine tuning the sword mechanics. We plan on start work on a mobile port of the game and release it on the app store! Thanks for playing :D
Thanks for watching us stream your game at https://www.twitch.tv/saoigames.
I like the concept of this and art and sound were quite good. I did have a good bit of trouble controlling the sword though. It never went quite where I expected it to. And I would love to see an option to turn friendly fire off; I think I killed the princess more often than the monsters did (Does that make me the real monster?)
Awesome game! As other people mentioned, I also had a hard time with the controls. I immediately thought this would work great as a mobile game and am glad to see that you are already working on that! Would love to give this another go on mobile so be sure to let me know when it's done!
The game looks decent and sounds good, so well done there. I wish there was some more variation in the visuals and maybe a little more integrated humour. I enjoyed the core gameplay loop but think there needs to be some tweaks to the artillery mechanic before it truly feels good to play.
Loved the pixel art, the music was chiptune-y and delightful, it was tough, I might sit down with it later to see if I can get past at least the second level. Kickin' entry, love it!
Sooooo much fun. There are a few issues with the gameplay area and controls which I think you are aware of at this point, but this is definitely one of the most fun and original entries I've played, and the art is awesome as well.
@saoi-games Thanks for giving us a shot! We are planning on fine-tuning the sword controls a bit more, as a lot of people have mentioned. For friendly fire, I think we may keep it in as it adds another layer of difficulty to the game and also get's a few laughs out of people as they play it. Thanks for the feedback!
@Re-Markable Thanks for trying it out! As mentioned, we will be working to improve controls and also, we will let you know once we get a working mobile port!
@Langotriel Really appreciate your feedback and you said some very useful stuff on stream, we will be working on polishing it more and making the sword mechanic feel as natural as possible. Thanks for letting us know!
@Elfcirynn Will let our sound engineer know that they did a great job aha, also yes, the game is difficult but we feel it's just difficult enough to keep people engaged and for them to want to complete it. Let us know if you manage to complete it!
@randomhuman Thanks for the kind words! Yes, we have a lot of improvements to make but glad that you found it fun and original, we will be working on polishing it a bit more so keep an eye out for a new and improved version (hopefully on mobile too) coming soon!

Your Mac download is broken, the file I was given is Windows build, aslo in your Itch page the "Mac download" is using the linux penguin. not sure if you meant to make a linux version instead of a Mac one. Wish i could give a play to your game but I cant until it is fixed
@Kappa-b When I download from the itch.io mac link I get a mac.app.zip file, is this the same thing you're getting? Maybe give it another try and otherwise, we'll try and find out whats up. We don't have anyone with a mac to test it right now.
Sorry for the inconvenience, hope you can still give it a shot.

@GameSmartt Yes the new files is correct, thanks for fixing it. I love the pixel art and the music they complemented each other nicely. I particularly enjoyed the story board beginning, you don't typically see that amount of polish. A very simple concept but well executed. Well done!
@Kappa.B Thanks for playing! We wanted to add in some voice acting and a bit more story, but didn't end up having the time aha. Glad you enjoyed!
Hm, a pretty interesting game... Art, music and sound were pretty good, so I'll get that out of the way first~ It took me a while to get used to the flinging mechanic, as simple as it was, and it took me 3 levels to figure out why... When you click and hold the mouse button, there's a brief moment that the sword takes to lift off the ground... which actually affects my trajectory when I've been pulling my mouse away by that time. Ends up having half the power, since it only starts calculating when the sword is ready, instead of when my button is pressed down. It made the game frustrating at the beginning when it wasn't responding as it should, and I tried to remedy it by increasing the window view... but after every level, the window just reverted back! Why??? Still, once I got the hang of clicking, waiting half a second, THEN pulling the sword, it became a lot easier.
Oh, at the end screen, it seems I still have control over the sword... and I proceeded to kill the princess, restarting the level. Miiiight wanna fix that.
Other than that, game was pretty solid all around. Good job, guys!
@justinooncx The window resizing is a bug we're currently working on, sorry about that! Yes, the sword needs a bit of time to 'ready' up before release. We plan on experimenting with a few different ways to make it feel good, we will try and make it so that you can pull and release instantly.
The end screen is something we threw together last minute so was a bit hacky. We will fix that in the final release for sure :D Thanks for dropping some feedback and glad you had a chance to try our game!
