LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

10 Second Script by Gabe 2018-05-01T09:58:20Z

I liked the concept, but the time needs to be increased to about a minute? Or maybe have different modes. This is less about writing a script but more about writing a title or a short description. Nevertheless, glad to see you working on it further!

Diner Dive by pebkac 2018-04-24T08:49:40Z

Couldn't seem to get it to run, gives me a "windows cannot access the specified device" error. Don't know if it's something on my side or not. Maybe try downloading it yourself and let me know :D

Feed the Beat by Benstar 2018-04-24T12:09:00Z

Music, graphics and gameplay are all really well done, couple of adjustments, make the menu system a bit more clear, make the hit sound a bit less loud and obvious (so that the song flows better) and maybe add some flavour text that the fruits/veggies say when they lose a heart(or turnips/radishes haha). Last one is just some polish, but otherwise great job.

One More Arm by MaximBegunov 2018-04-24T08:29:28Z

I like it! The flying mechanic feels a bit awkward, but other than that the game plays well. Maybe incorporate the arm a bit more, as currently it serves more as a play button. Also, the sounds were a bit jarring at first. I like that there can be a wide variety of enemy types.

YOU LEFT ME. by Angela He 2018-04-25T13:23:12Z

Insanely well made, stunning visual and sound accompanied by a emotionally heavy story (for my ending) makes for a great game. Looking forward to more of your stuff in the future.

Think Before Escape by acoto87 2018-05-01T10:05:39Z

I like the concept! Got a bit stuck on the 4th (?) stage or so but could see myself playing this game when I need something to sink a few minutes into :D

Carmagotchi by Re-Markable 2018-04-28T08:35:16Z

Fun little game! I don't really like the wait to refill concept, as it isn't fun for the player as they usually have short attention spans, but I do however like the simple gameplay and the background music. Thought it would get annoying but it only got funnier as it went on. Great job!

Rhythm Overdrive by Diblow 2018-04-24T12:24:55Z

The visuals of the game were stunning, and the music fits in really well. Gameplay is smooth, but the only issue I had was the shooting felt kinda wobbly/clunky/out of my control. The way I would fix it is maybe make the ship move faster and also make sure the shots don't have a tilt to them, and instead fire straight ahead. Other than that, for something made in 3 days, really good job.

Super Slime Slasher Ultra by sebastianscaini 2018-04-24T11:51:38Z

Really good job on this one, looks really polished and the voice acting is great. As everyone already mentioned, keyboard controls are clunky. An addition of a pause menu would be really helpful too. For something made in 72 hours, this looks really good. My highscore was 114! dasdad.PNG

Jump & Cards by Beh 2018-04-24T11:38:07Z

I really like the concept, and would encourage you to try and polish out the level design. I find it's a bit hard as the new cards don't load in fast enough, so quick movements are difficult. If you get that out of the way, it'll be something really fun to play.

Gender Circles by EkkoEkko 2018-04-28T17:39:17Z

Simple fun core mechanic, enjoyed the simple graphics. One of those games which really benefited from being simple rather than adding random stuff in. Nice job!

On The Fly by qkjosh 2018-04-26T13:34:36Z

Hey! I just got some time to try it out, must say, I'm really impressed! The visuals and sound worked really well together and I could see this as something to play with an SO and just relax for an afternoon, maybe add some sort of progression or a bit of variation in gameplay but it may take away from the simplicity of the game.

However, I do feel like it needs something more, maybe different things that happen when you reach certain hearts? I played for 15-20 minutes and couldn't get past 4/5 (can't remember) hearts, and didn't feel much progression. However it was super calming and put me into a zen like state. Great job!

@Rebecca Kremer Thanks for the feedback! We're contemplating whether to keep working on it and polishing it, so your feedback is really important :D Glad you had a good time :)

Sadie's Stabby Sword Story by Elowan 2018-04-26T13:15:41Z

@erebus No worries! Was nice to see your reaction to the princess getting killed by the sword etc. and we will take into consideration all the feedback that you gave. Thanks for giving us a try on stream!

Sadie's Stabby Sword Story by Elowan 2018-04-28T01:45:52Z

@Honest-Dan Thanks for the detailed review and playing our game on stream! Really got some good feedback and also your reactions helped us judge what was good and what wasn't. We're in the process of deciding whether to keep moving on with it, so your feedback will really help us out. Thanks a lot!

Sadie's Stabby Sword Story by Elowan 2018-04-28T04:56:22Z

Thanks for your feedback @BlueMirror ! Yes, we are currently working on polishing and fine tuning the sword mechanics. We plan on start work on a mobile port of the game and release it on the app store! Thanks for playing :D

Sadie's Stabby Sword Story by Elowan 2018-04-29T05:08:08Z

@saoi-games Thanks for giving us a shot! We are planning on fine-tuning the sword controls a bit more, as a lot of people have mentioned. For friendly fire, I think we may keep it in as it adds another layer of difficulty to the game and also get's a few laughs out of people as they play it. Thanks for the feedback!

@Re-Markable Thanks for trying it out! As mentioned, we will be working to improve controls and also, we will let you know once we get a working mobile port!

@Langotriel Really appreciate your feedback and you said some very useful stuff on stream, we will be working on polishing it more and making the sword mechanic feel as natural as possible. Thanks for letting us know!

@Elfcirynn Will let our sound engineer know that they did a great job aha, also yes, the game is difficult but we feel it's just difficult enough to keep people engaged and for them to want to complete it. Let us know if you manage to complete it!

@randomhuman Thanks for the kind words! Yes, we have a lot of improvements to make but glad that you found it fun and original, we will be working on polishing it a bit more so keep an eye out for a new and improved version (hopefully on mobile too) coming soon!

Sadie's Stabby Sword Story by Elowan 2018-04-30T02:50:03Z

@Kappa-b When I download from the itch.io mac link I get a mac.app.zip file, is this the same thing you're getting? Maybe give it another try and otherwise, we'll try and find out whats up. We don't have anyone with a mac to test it right now.

Sorry for the inconvenience, hope you can still give it a shot.

Sadie's Stabby Sword Story by Elowan 2018-05-01T01:45:34Z

@Kappa.B Thanks for playing! We wanted to add in some voice acting and a bit more story, but didn't end up having the time aha. Glad you enjoyed!

Sadie's Stabby Sword Story by Elowan 2018-05-01T05:18:01Z

@justinooncx The window resizing is a bug we're currently working on, sorry about that! Yes, the sword needs a bit of time to 'ready' up before release. We plan on experimenting with a few different ways to make it feel good, we will try and make it so that you can pull and release instantly.

The end screen is something we threw together last minute so was a bit hacky. We will fix that in the final release for sure :D Thanks for dropping some feedback and glad you had a chance to try our game!
