i like the graphic, the voice over, but for some reason controls aren't working as well? like i cant even see myself breakin gmy own combo because the sword is like pointing slow or clicking slow idk.

i like the graphic, the voice over, but for some reason controls aren't working as well? like i cant even see myself breakin gmy own combo because the sword is like pointing slow or clicking slow idk.
Overall the game was pretty fun. The idea was neat and the art was great. The voice over fit the mood.
The controls were off with mouse/keyboard. Couldn't aim sword properly and didn't know how to do the other moves. A crosshair might help a bit with mouse.
Other than that, was fun to play. Good job.
Great audio, visual, and gameplay were fun. The slimes were too adorable. Good game!
Played for awhile, but couldn't figure out what the incentive was for matching colors since the score didn't go up. After some time it felt somewhat repetitive. Other than that the gameplay was very smooth and enjoyable even using mouse and keyboard rather than controller. The graphics and audio really great and fit really well together.
You can die real quick when the arena gets crowded... I felt like the sword hitbox was a little off, but I got used to it after a while. Cool concept!
Really good voice over, though it would be nice if the mouse controlled a bit better (or if I had a controller, I guess ), but it's still satisfying when you can just mash the sword as fast as possible and get a bunch of slimes in a row.
Well done!
The voice acting is amazing, it takes the game to a superior level just because of it. Could really do some rebalancing to make the flow of the game more interesting, other than that is an amazing concept. Did 600 points on my second run, what is a good score?
Great idea to combine match-3 with arena fighter! Awesome work!!!
When I first started the game, my boyfriend commented over my shoulder: "Are you still playing game jam games?" Your game looks THAT good! The art is so good! Also, the voiceovers during the battles really take it to another level of polish.
I do wish there were more colors or more mechanics to play with. I only played a few games and got a bit bored after the initial rush of fun. 72 hours is not a whole lot of time to add those kinds of things though and you guys did a great job of polishing what you had and making a great packaged game! Well done!
Awesome game, nice idea and great graphics and sound! The voice acting was very good, but the animation of the characters moves the lips a bit too long, if you synchronize this it would be perfect! Is there a visual clue about the current chain? I was too busy trying to survive and could not find one. The game was a bit too hard for me, could not get any chains done, but that's because I am a lousy gamer :-)
I love the graphics and animation! So cute! Definitely makes me smile, especially how you go around poking slimes. Rate my 3-hour attempt at LD41 back if you have time. :)
I really like the concept, and the artwork is adorable! Great job you guys :)
Really cool concept, and really well executed. The art was adorable, the music suited the game well and the voiceover was pure gold. I like that there was a tutorial too. Nice touch.
This is a silly silly game and I had a lot of fun with it. It's surprising how well polished the candy-coloured art is, given the 72 hours available to complete this entry - it feels a little bit like Adventure Time, which is no bad thing. Definitely one of favourite games so far.
Nice game. My record was 63, not so good i guess. And BTW it could almost be named click simulator HAHA! :D
Funny and cute, I like it :-D The controls felt nice with a controller, and the game was actually really fun, and I love the voice over. Nice job! Great submission!
Cool game, really like the axolotl look of the characters and the voice acting give the game a great quality overall !
Very good game which need dodge and precision skills. Greed is not a good idea if you play this :D
Really good job on this one, looks really polished and the voice acting is great. As everyone already mentioned, keyboard controls are clunky. An addition of a pause menu would be really helpful too. For something made in 72 hours, this looks really good. My highscore was 114! dasdad.PNG
Very well polished game, with cool graphics and nice voice acting. Only drawback in my opinion is the type of control / attack you have chosen, it is quite hard to aim. Very good job!
Hi! I tried your game on linux and it works fine! I liked it even if it's hard not to hit slimes of other colors when they come for you... Mouse+keyboard are indeed hard to master but I'll play more tonight with a proper controller. The game itself is really well done, I liked the tutorial (even if a bit too long) especially because of the voice acting! Graphisms are cute and polished in their genre. Well done guys!
A really nice game. I especially liked the mode and audio. I only played using the keyboard controllers, and thus the attacks were kind of problematic to get right. Also the highscore seemed to have an issue where my score did not reflect the highscore I got. Anyway, a nice game with an original rule-set dont in a short time! Very vell done!
got a massive combo then died but it didn't register my combo, 0/10
Great job! the voice, the music, the graphics and also the tutorial... just excellent!
Awww! cute game & surprising elaborated voice sfx (like in the tutorial or main menu)!! Some improvements thoughts:
showing the mouse pointer could help to improve the control feeling of the sword. I miss the reference sometimes. slimes look to be glitched just before death (red tint). ¿? main menu buttons color seems too soft(like disabled or something). Anyway I enjoyed playing this adorable game! ;D
[check our game :D](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/dance-invaders)
The graphics and the voiceacting are so cool :)! Very good job guys ;) Just I can't play with my xbox controller, but idk if it's a bug from the game or of my controller :/ Anyway GG
Real cute! The music, graphics, and also the tutorial are all awesome :)
The Linux version works perfectly, FYI. Going to agree with everyone else on the thread: showing the mouse pointer or a crosshair or something would be useful, aiming is pretty difficult. For something made in 72 hours (and I imagine not all of that was constant work), this is a great game. Oh, and it's adorable
[would appreciate ratings of our game also <3](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/bullet-heck)
Really cute is the first thing comming to my mind after playing the game. I loved the fact that there was voice line, the tutorial is easy to follow like this. Really nice game, not much feature over the top, but, well done simple things, are the best things, KISS of course  The music sounds good too. I love the draw style that the game has, it adds more cuteness. Excellent game !
What can I say about this game .... hum .... well ... Best game I played in this LD41 and probably is going to stay that way. Graphics were on point .. voices worked amazing and gameplay was super fun and challenging. I usually have some feedback for the games I play where I point out what I liked and disliked .... What did I dislike about this game? ... Nothing
This is the closest thing to a perfect game. Its up there on the top 10 games I have ever played on the 6 Ludum Dares I entered.
I will probably play this game later today and maybe tomorrow again ... this is how much fun it was ... You should think about developing this game a bit more and maybe release it on Steam or something :P
PS: I just added a shortcut of this game to my Desktop
YOU GUYS DID A TUTORIAL IN A LUDUMDARE? omg. fantastic  . I really want to see a post-jam version. Take a look on my game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/vector-rabbits-slayer
You already know my opinion on this (i like it)! My only criticism are that the controls aren't the easiest to get used to, and it's really hard to align the blobs. Other than that, its great! Specially during finals!
I really enjoyed this game!! The art style is super cute and silly and the voice over work is AWESOME. One thing that you guys should patch fast is the main menu, if there is a way to hit play with X-box controllers I couldn't figure it out. Along with that the buttons were a little hard to hit (especially the tutorial button). As for game play I think it's a really solid idea and pretty fun as well! The one suggestion I have is to add more visual feed back for dashing and maybe change the dashing button. I tended to not use the dash because it was so awkward to reach and most of the time I was using that finger to hit the bumper to attack, there was also no visuals for the dash cool down which would have been nice. Again wonderful and delightful game! Great job!
I saw this earlier and I must say it's amazing! Great job Fun to play, cute graphics, amazing work overall
I liked the look and voice acting in the game. With keyboard and mouse, the movement felt good but controlling the sword with the mouse made it feel like i didn't have full control and my score didn't go up after getting more then 3 in a row but that might be me doing something wrong. But over all this was pretty fun.
Cool game really. The graphics, while simple, still looked appealing to me. So yeah basically I'd say that you've really done a goob job here!
this looks great! the art is super cute and the game is fun. good work!
i loved the art. really enjoyed playing it. great job :)
I LOVE it!)) voiceovers are cute and lil bubbles are so cute I even feel bad to stabb them)
Do I spy a popuko in the audience???
Great job! Cute art and had fun playing it.
I'm not sure what happened to my comment but I'll leave another. I really enjoyed this game! I think the art was super adorable and I think the VO was excellent! I ran into the a problem on the main menu where I couldn't click either of the buttons, along with that there didn't seem to be any X-box controller support on the main menu. Game play wise I think it was really good! The concept was great with an equally as great execution. The only thing I would recommend looking into would be the dash. First the button lay out for the dash makes it hard to do so since that finger is usually on the bumper trying to attack, next dashing just felt very empty. What I mean by empty was that it was devoid of juice, it would have helped if there was more visuals that happened when you dashed (like the sprite squishing a little) and then some visuals for when the dash was off cool down. Again, wonderful game!! I would love to see future projects from this team!
Great job guys, really cute graphics, love the voice over and the animations, the slimes remind me a lot of pusheen the cat which is like 100 points+ for graphics :P, the biggest down side of the game is the perspective makes it really hard to judge if your attack is gonna hit the slime you want and it seems like the hit detection is a bit off, but other than that really fun and cool game, loved it :).
This game was great fun. It took me way to many "chain destroyed" to realise that I had to right-click to collect my points but It was enjoyable anyway. I don't really have any critisism to give, the game is perfectly functional and has all required features. However I do have some ideas for improvements: bosses, mini-bosses and different arenas.
Very adorable, it makes it difficult to stab the blobs! Lovely style, very full looking setting. If you get chance check out our game too https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/mechasnek :)
Love the art direction in the game, good one!
Great art work and game design! I tested the Mac build and only problem is exiting the game (:
Very cute graphics, I'm like voice on background, music and gameplay as well. Not really like how fast mouse moves. And Esc for pause would be nice to see.
Please port it to HTML5
Got addicted to this game, spent +15 minutes... Great job! Love the voice acting and the nice gameplay
Printscreen-proof for your highscore :-) highscore.PNG
A lot to love with this one. I liked the challenging gameplay. Awesome work.
This game is awesome! voice acting rocks and the camera angle shifting is great.
Excellent game!! I must confess that I had a blast on the menu screen just click the hell out of those slimes hahaha, audio in general is really good! But the buttons at the main menu was a little hard to hit, and aiming with the mouse (Although you warned) was kind of unaccurate. But it didn't take away the brightness of this game. Good job!
Other than the obnoxiously elongated tutorial and the keyboard controls not following the mouse position, this is a solid game.
Sorry for the double post. My mouse missclick sometimes...
Now thats some polished game. even had a nice tutorial! who does that! (but thanks thats nice) game was great although I felt it controlled weird.(i think its the push backs)
Great idea, Great work!
Since you asked: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/need-for-fish
Fun game, felt bad for the cute slimes though! Well polished!
Would appreciate if you gave mine a go! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/left-for-bait
WOW! Really cool game! I love the art/graphics. You should see me and my team's game https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/platscii
Love the Voice acting! It really helps with engagement and is really well done.
The concept as a whole is interesting and pretty cool. I'd like the collisions to be a bit better though. It was sometimes hard to tell if I would get hit.
I really enjoy the use the theme and the whole polished concept here! I couldn't get it to work with my Steelseries controller though, and had to use the keyboard :( The UI didn't seem to respond to my mouse, and I could never get... combos? It was very weird. Tutorial screen never popped up and while I'd kill slimes and they'd count themselves, that never added into my score.
It's super polished though and what I did play was enjoyable, even if the mouse controls are super clunky.
Well done!
EDIT: UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, I really gotta read itch.io pages more thoroughly and have come to know that you gotta cash in your combos. Or maybe actually read the tutorial itself fully.
Dang, this is really good. The hitboxes felt a little wonk, though, I had troubles telling when I would get hit and when I was going to hit. Still, I loved basically everything.
I enjoyed the voice acting a lot. I also liked the concept of the game. I have to step up my game next time!
Very enjoyable game, and the graphics are simply sublime. However, my one complaint is that buttons should have larger colliders. Right now, you have to click the text, which is a bit annoying. I would love the feedback of a team so experienced! http://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/protect
Super cute! Love the overall level of polish and humor and sound design in the game! I'd love to see some tighter controls, or a variety of attacks, but great job on this!!
Great concept! High score My PS4 controller was mapped wrong, so that was confusing when the aim axii were mapped to the triggers. Fix that though :) Clicking the bumper so much hurt my finger. :( Also felt bad for killing cute little slimes even if they did have aggressive eye brows.
Well done!
Very cute game. The graphics and audio are very top notch.
The gameplay's simple but surprisingly enjoyable for what it is.
I did find a small bug though, and at one point I got stuck on the bottom right corner of the level, and wasn't sure why. I did get out eventually though so it really wasn't a biggy.
Anyway great work!
Fun, quirky, well-polished jam game. You nailed the theme and the game aesthetic. Plus, Super Slime Slasher Ultra is kinda addictive which is always a good sign (at least when it comes to jam games). Oh, and points for the voice acting!
Cuetsy slimes! I can confirm this runs on Linux and that the mouse controls are very hard to aim! XD A really interesting concept, nicely packaged.
Good job on this, team! The art style is incredible, and I'm amazed that you managed to put together such a good looking tutorial in tie.
Like most people said, I struggled with the PC controls. I also couldn't find a 'back' or 'exit' button while in the tutorial, so have to quickly click through to the end in order to get to the main menu.
Anyway, well done!
Nice polish, audio / voice added a lot, and good art instantly gives a good impression. The game mechanics are interesting, the idea of having to resist attacking some enemies is against the norm of a slasher style game. Having to focus on colour matching and counting 3 was a good genre blend. I enjoyed the subtle rules too that made the game more challenging the more you wanted to gamble! Found perhaps improving the colliders and Ai, and perhaps and indicator to show your dash cooldown could all have made the game a little better.
Best take on the theme I've seen yet! Loved the voice acting. I actually preferred the mouse and keyboard controls over the controller myself. I did have a hard time clicking on the initial menu buttons- didn't seem to register until I spammed clicking all around the tutorial button for example.
Ohh this is so cool, really neat game. And love the art style. If there is one thing I would change its the camera shake effect when the slime gets you - its a tad jarring, or maybe that is the point 🙃
Very nice game! The voice tutorial really made a great impression. Gameplay is good and the controls (I tried the gamepad) feel nice and reactive. The hitbox could use some tweaking and it took me some seconds to realize I need to click the "tutorial" and the "play" with the mouse. I would love to see this extended with some more attacks or a shield, probably weapons to be picked up or some powerups. You could definitely take this in any direction. :) To sum it up: Graphics are great and I already mentioned the voice acting. Very well executed, indeed.
Really fun entry, loved the announcer, unique idea. gave it a perfect 5. well done!
This was a really great game. I loved the art and the audio, including the voice over. Well done!
This was delightful!!!
Really well polished game and really good job on the theme - match 3 + action rpg. My only complaint is that like other have said the mouse and keyboard controls arn't great, but i'm not really sure how you'd make them better. I think this could be steller game if it had a few more features/mechnanics such as upgrades, something to spend your points on etc. Good Work!
Amazing artwork, very well polished, the tone that the art, music and voice over creates is great! If you have some spare time, please consider critiquing my game! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/a-knight-of-music
Yep, great game! I feel like I'm just adding to the noise, but I loved the art, voice acting and game play.
I also really liked the characters in the seats, watching the action. I was imagining exploring the town they live in between battles, so they can tell me I'm not as good as so-and-so, the most-epic slime-slasher. Then I could slowly become their favorite...and like do little quests for them to get their blue feather sword, which does double damage to blue slimes.
While probably not taking my wild dreams seriously, I seriously hope you finish this game so I can add it to my steam library.
oh god, this game broke my heart a little. The slimes are too cute I didn't wannna kill em ;^;
It's So cute! I Hope you get high rankings in graphics, because your game is a visual masterpiece. Gameplay is also very smooth and overall fun to play :-)
I noticed two smalls issues. For one it's easy to get surrounded by slimes and the way hits and knockback work can turn this into a stun-lock that drain the entire remaining life. The other thing was that it was a bit straining to mash the attack button instead of just holding it.
But these minor problems aside, this is a great game! The characters were cute and it even had voice acting. Awesome!
AWWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOMMMMMEEEEEEE!
Woow awesome game ! i had so much fun playing it ! great concept!
great game great voice and great artstyle ^^ enjoyed playing it ;)
Great fun and great visuals!
I quite like this. Wonderful art, great background music and sound effects, the voice acting was pretty amusing. Only criticism would be the finnicky mouse controls, but I guess it's designed for controllers so that's fine :Pscreenshot.png
I had a lot of fun with this! I like the cute art style too. I do feel like the aiming of the sword is a little inaccurate or clunky. but other than that it's a great game!
I'd be great if you could check out our game too! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/rattys-stew-an-immersive-cooking-simulation
Nice job, really funny and cool visual :D
Awesome! The arts and sounds are great! My score is 177 with keyboard! asd.png
If you want you can try my game on this link: [Scarry](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/scarry)
That's a really cool idea. The voice over was great and I was glad to be able to use my controller. Still, the collision detection felt a bit off with both the sword and the PC's body
Finally got a chance to sit down and place this. I really enjoyed this game. Here's some of the feedback I can think to give.
--- Graphics ---
The graphics were great. Reminded me a lot of the games done by "The Behemoth" like Castle Crashers, that sort of style. Having the controller on the tutorial screen was a nice touch as well. The different designs for the slims are really cool, especially that pesky yellow one (I swear I got hit more by them than the other colors lol)
--- Audio ---
Audio was really good. Music was great. Even though it was short and on a loop, it never felt repetitive. The narration in the tutorial screen as well as the call outs during the game were great. Seemed so dissapointed at me loosing my chain, but man did she get excited when I could cash in.
--- Controls --- You stated that it was better to play with a gamepad, and that is 100% accurate. The keyboard controls are pretty solid, and would be as good if there was some indication as to where the mouse was other than the direction of the sword pointing. Maybe a small dot or some type of non-intrusive reticle. I think that's all that would be missing for the mouse, just something to visually track separately from the sword direction
Moving and aiming with a gamepad is much better, but I it made my arm tired. I think it was because of having to constantly mash the right bumper. Typically with gamepad controls, buttons you mash a lot are in the A,B,X,Y buttons, so mashing the bumber was felt a bit odd. Maybe give the option to customize inputs?
--- Gameplay --- The game play was fun with the right amount of challenge. I noticed that some of the slimes would move faster and intentially run toward me while some just moved slowly toward me and some just sat still. It gave it a good depth and challenge to building the combos and trying to survive.
The risk / reward of building a chain was interesting, but I found myself sometimes killing slimes that I wasn't technically attacking. For instance, I could attack a yellow slime at my 45 degree angle, and one sorta next to it but closer to 90 degree angle from me was still getting hit, even thought he sword graphic wasn't touching it. I broke a few big chains because of that.
--- Overall --- Overall I really enjoyed this and hope that you continue working on it after Ludum and do a full release. You all did a good job.
--- Also high score --- Also, i believe i'm currently #1 on leaderboard with 863 :D high_score_863.png
Obligitory link to my game and asking to play/rate mine as well https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/slime-battle-royale
This was super cute! One thing I was honestly very surprised at was the voice acting actually worked (not usually the case with voice acting in jam games, hahah. It's overall very well polished, the genre mesh pretty well (even if at one point I wanted them to line up somehow to give that match-3 feel). Great entry, overall!
A very well made game. I got very confused at first. Actually, you can see that from my Let's Play video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnlqU52nHaQ
Played the game for a while and it was actually fun. The voice over was also really cool, it added a lot to the already fantastic game. The only thing I wished the game had is autofire, I was playing with a DS4 so my finger got tired after a while (then there's also the fact that since DS4 are not like xbox controllers, I had to remap the right stick but that's just Sony's fault as I had a similar problem in my game). Here's my highscore: Captura.PNG
Great work! Also, check out my game if you've got the time, I certainly could use all the advice I can get.
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/nanashi
Thanks :)
Played 2 times, 1 before the tutorial which was fun but I was wondering why I am not getting any points, and 1 after the tutorial where I realized how bad I am at this game. The game is really fun and the controls are really nice but the mouse control felt a little bit funky for me (I know a controller is recommended but I don't have one). The art is really great and the voice acting in the tutorial is so awesome. Great job.
Solid all around love the VO fits nice!
Man, SO GOOD! Great gameplay, well done tutorial, great voice acting and music, and stellar art! Well done guys - congrats on an amazing game!!! Check out our game! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/cosmic-smoothies
Could you feature our game? https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/toaster-boy
It's so cute I could die. My character did though. That's why I get for being a paparazzi trying to get a cool shot.
Super Slime Slasher Ultra_2018-04-28_22-29-11.png
This game has a superb production value, with voice acting and what not. Amazing art, solid gameplay, and a very interesting mix of slashing, matching and to a degree, resource managing, trying to see which slimes should die for points and which to just make space. It gets very frantic and I love it.
A bit floaty on the controllers though. I felt that sometimes my attacks would connect when they didn't and viceversa. Never a game ender, but it still felt a bit off. And as a tune up thing, it's weird that, despite being very suggested to be played on a controller, it ends up requiring the mouse to maneuver the menu. Just a tiny thing that could be easily addressed later on, I believe.
All in all though, this is a very well rounded up entry that has it all. Great work! [My team](twitter.com/whalesandgames) want to congratulate yours not only for making such a great entry, but for also supporting other fellow developers around. Keep up the good work! :whale:
Funny, cutsie, well elaborated, a great game
Great game, I love the music and graphics and I can't stop playing it. It's good that you also publish wallpapers and sound tracks.
Nice game! I can't beleive it was done in one weekend! If you want to you can play mine [here](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/limits-by-sharks)! Oh, and btw, the mac version works beautifuly! So, it's tested now!
Dude, the mouse control is bug-level broken, I don't think it's against the rules to fix this kind of problem, it's not like enhancing the gameplay, it's more like making it controlable. Besides that, the idea is great and the artstyle is cool and cute, audio is good as well, so playing on controller is actually pretty fun! Congrats on that!
The characters are so cute, i love the graphics and sound effects. Interesting idea, nice done ^^ you can check my game here if you're interested https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/huber-driver
What gives you the right to make a game this cute? :o Plays great, amazing graphics, stellar Audio/voice acting - what's not to love?
I'd love to see more of the world you created! Seriously, all the guys in the background, they can't just be decoration!
I absolutely adore your entry in every regard!
Great game, it was a lot of fun! All the mechanics worked really well together and the game felt so polished with the voice acting and cute graphics.
The mouse control was somewhat weird because it feels like it was dependent on your movement, and not controlled freely. It made it a lot harder to aim because my aim changed without me doing anything other than moving around.
Very impressive that this was made in such a short time. I don't believe you would be able to add more features, but a leaderboard would have been nice to have.
Overall, very cute and polished game. I had a lot of fun playing this and I got stuck in the zone in this one
Incredible game! My fingers hurt a bit though, having to spam RB to hit the slimes isn't very good for them but well.
Oh man this looks and feels high polished!
Brilliant game i think you are a winner
Great game! I love pretty much everything about it! The tutorial and voiceover were nice touches. I think the mechanics blended really well together, and the gameplay itself was pretty fun. I did manage to get stuck along the bottom of the screen though, and my non-standard gamepad wouldn't work properly; I think it was trying to read both mouse and analog stick inputs and got confused. You should definitely consider polishing the game and releasing it for realsies.
Does indeed work fine on Linux with optirun (Nvidia Optimus card). Voiceover is always a good thing to have, and you do have a nice VO. Although the sword direction isn't very readable on smaller resolution. Maybe if I just could see the mouse pointer? Or make the sword much bigger? Or some sort of overlay highlight element?
So glad to see controller support for games, so thanks for that. Small glitch where the high score and final score are missing the last chain you cashed out. Otherwise a fun li'l game
I struggled with the mouse input somewhat, but controller was fine :) super cute style and good execution. Would be nice to see some abilities - maybe a dash attack or AoE ground-pound to mix things up as combat gets repetitive, but otherwise awesome work!
Love the art!
The art is very good and the first time, the game looks easy but it's not! ^^
The game is cute and I like the concept, but I ran into issues with the sword hitbox. I kept stabbing through things and hitting slimes that it seemed like i wouldn't touch. Otherwise, cute concept and it definitely fits the theme.
Once I read the tutorial properly I understood the theme and the gameplay, both of which were good ideas. The graphics and voice-over etc was all great, nice presentation. THe gameplay itself was pretty cool, has good potential, was just slightly a pain for me as the hitbox on the sword and the slimes seemed a bit off (I had a few combos broken by hitting slimes that weren't that close to my sword). I think overall this is a very good entry though.
Beautiful entry! Mouse controls are horrible, but I don't have a gamepad to play with. I also got stuck on slimes a lot, and lost a lot of health to getting pinballed around helplessly by groups of slimes. With just a couple tweaks I could easily see me playing this 15 years ago on Neopets XD
Really nice submission, great job! That was a pretty interesting take on the theme.
That was a really nice game! I wasn't expecting a voice-over, that was a pleasant surprise too!
The graphics are super cute, the sound effects and feedbacks are juicy and the game is polished. You guys did managed to nail the project scope! The mouse controls were not so precise but I get it that the intention was to play it on a controller.
Congratulations on the entry, one of the best games I've played at this Ludum Dare!
This was a fantastic entry! I actually ended up playing this for nearly an hour, it's quite addictive! The voice is a very nice touch and drives home the feeling you're trying to convey with this.
This is one of the better entries I saw. I didn't play for an hour like some people, but I still enjoyed it. the art style is nice, and the gameplay is fun.
For everyone who says mouse controls are bad, I just played this on a touchpad and... yeah, I need to go get my controller anyway, so I'll go do that.
I kind of find myself wondering how this would feel if just touching the sword killed the slimes. It might be more satisfying, but it would also be harder to keep chains going. (The spinny sword thing I could do by spinning my finger in a circle looked like it would have felt great as an attack.)
It's polished and very cute, but other comments have got that covered, so ::thumbs up::
Biggest complaint is the font choice, but that might just take getting used to. I spent a good several moments wondering what "cdsn"-ing in my chain would do. Was it some terminology I didn't know? the keyboard equivalent for the control pad part? OH, CASH. CASH IN MY CHAIN. I'd have felt silly but I felt pretty safe blaming the font.
Again, really well done. I'll definitely come back to the download version with a controller when I get the chance so I get the full experience.
I am not sure what everyone was talking about, I think the game was very fun! The controls were okay, to my mind. The voice over elevates the game so much and the tutorial is really really helpful. The feedback loop is consistent and nice, overall this is a very polished experience. It does get a bit stale over time, but there is only so much you can accomplish during a weekend. Nice job, with this!
Good job! Cool game!
I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.
I hope you continue with the project.

Finally got around posting the video! Very nice and polished game. My only gripes were with the controls (I played it on an XBOX360 gamepad) and that the gameplay doesn't offer anything new after a while. Apart from that, you can ship it as is, pretty much, the presentation is very polished and there's even a talking tutorial! Here's my attempt at playing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=md_wmDhaD_w
Played your game with a gamepad and had a bunch of fun! The art is lovely! I really liked the different enemy behaviours and trying to come up with strategies to maximise the amount of points I was getting. A frustrating thing for me was getting stuck in a hit loop and losing a ton of life in one go. I think introducing some obstacles like small walls would stop the player getting trapped in a corner and might lend itself to creating more advanced strategies. Well done!
Interesting concept. It's an interesting take on the theme. The art style is really good! Good job on this.
Please, take a look at my game too https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/confessional
Super fun game. I've been meaning to rate it for quite a while as I've been in several streams where you guys were being played. The announcer is the best part of the game I think. The other day I was thinking it'd be cool to make some sort of fantasy sports game, like the old Mutant League Football or something with her and another (maybe male) announcer as co commentators for the thing. Have some banter between them, could be super funny.
Anyway, the graphics are super cute to and the concept is great and really on theme. I like it.
Impressive visuals, it feels very coherent and suites the "cute-style" of the game. Always a big plus with voice acting as well, one of the best games when it comes to the over all audio.
Feels very complete, nice main menu and a lot of polish.
Love the voice acting and the visuals! The colliders feel a bit too big and playing with mouse is VERY difficult, but it's very enjoyable too! Very great game! :D
FUn game and great avoice acting but as other have stated, very difficult controls :/ Great game otherwise :D
Very nice and cute game, but as many other, I find the control not easy to... control...
Very beautiful game and the voices are very funny. Furthermore, the theme combination is very interesting. However, there are some odd aspects that I want to mention: - The control is very difficult because it isn't possible to see the mouse, besides the sword change to its initial position very fast. - When I clicked the credits on the main menu, the tutorial was shown. - There isn't pause button. These are some inconvenients in the game, although the idea is very funny, to kill several slimes to get money :D I liked it a lot!
I love the graphics and silly voice acting of the game
the only two problems for me personally was trying to figure out what to do because "killing" the slimes didn't work (maybe i'm just stupid), and I have a Razer mouse that can have an auto clicking bind so all I had to do was spin in circles holding that button, immediately removing all challenge from the game. A limit to the amount of times the game can use the left click input would go along way I feel. Otherwise I like the game!
Once again thanks for recommending our game :)
Just slashed some slimes - Nice idea and coll simple yet nice looking graphics! Keep it up :)
Great audio and cute graphics - a nice reading on the Tutorial screen! Gameplay wise it was a bit hard to see when I could stab a blob effectively - making me continually stab. Maybe a swish graphic could help there. The match-three aspect was nice - gave some choices on when to continue a chain or not.
Ideas for improvements: - Have a more defined weapon 'swish' area - More weapons (powerup on field for temporary weapon switches?) - Powerups - Special blobs that count as more points - Rainbow blobs that count as any, but will finish your chain - etc
Ok this game is really funny and very cute. Good job with the voice acting! This game was a very enjoyable experience
Very well polished fun game, good job! I love the voice acting and graphics. +1 for the nice tutorial.
When I slashed a slime while more slimes were surrounding me I felt alert! If you continue to develop this, when I saw the number count up from 1, 2, I felt confused. I guessed I would want to get slimes of the same color, but when I tried to target slimes of only one color, I felt like I was slow and clumsy.
Wow, you did an amazing job on the audio part! And this graphics are super cute, especially this fish-like horned lady Ambyst (have i got her name right?). She is super lovely  Sadly i don't have a working controller and aiming with mouse is surprisingly difficult in this game, so i was losing chains too often and didn't get any good scores :slight_frown:
Love it! The mechanic is a little hard to get by yourself (improve tutorial?), but it was ambicious and well implemented.
You are aware that your endless spam might hurt your rating, right? Damn, that's annoying...
Cute graphics, well made game. I included it in my Ludum Dare 41 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gETlUarz7Y
Very fun game and i really liked the voiceover. The graphics are also really nice, especially the tutorial lady and the people in the stadium. For now I could only play the web version with keyboard and mouse, when I'm at home I will also try it with gamepad and the windows build
Well done! I had a super fun experience with this game!
It feels like this mechanics (artstyle and sound seems almost perfect) could be used for some bigger projects. Hope you'll continue to develop it.
Really pretty game, I had fun. Maybe you could do smoother controls but really good Game with the theme.
If you want to check our game, we nned a few rates ;p https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/rocket-pet
It's a funny game. The graphics made me smile and the slimes were really cute. How you control the sword is well executed and the AI is good! Only thing is the score didn't move. I played it on WebGL, sadly I didn't get any sound, either. Congrats for the great game and hope you keep working on that! Could be a hit for mobile!
Quite a solid game! My main issues with it are mostly down to subjective reasons as the game was objectively quite polished and well done! c:
Some really neat concepts explored here. It was sometimes tricky to not accidentally get the wrong colour and have to start over when they really started swarming in, which is the kind of challenge I guess you were going for! It felt a little too easy to stay alive tho so it would've been neat if the difficulty ramped up faster and/or more.
Really nice to have a proper tutorial tho I feel it could've been quite a lot shorter and still explain everything unambiguously. :p
Came running as soon as I saw that it has gamepad support because that's such a great way to make something just feel that much more like a "real" game to me as someone who prefers playing games on consoles (unfortunately not something I implemented in my own entry)! <3
I do feel the scheme was a little wonky tho. It really started hurting my finger after a while of spamming the shoulder button and it was difficult to move the secondary stick at the same time. Would've liked it if the sword just stayed in the last direction pressed instead of reverting back so that I could let go of the stick and go a little easier on my fingers. Not sure overall what would be a better scheme tho. Maybe using the left hand trigger instead since walking requires less precision? Also I don't think it was possible to access main menu options using the gamepad unless I missed something? ):
Nice audio and music! I personally find "real people's voices" a bit awkward in games and prefer Zelda or Banjo style vocations, but obviously that's really a personal preference. Would've been nice to have audio cues coupled with text instead for me, but again, a very personal thing. It did confuse me at times tho, because sometimes the narrator would say negative things while I was doing well and not taking any damage and sometimes it would prompt me that it was time to collect coins when in fact there weren't any. :p Might want to look into that, could be a bug!
Collecting coins was a very satisfactory addition to it! Seeing them just rain down felt great.
Overall a good game that I quite liked! Nice work! c:
Well done! This game has a crazy amount of polish to it! I love the art and your use of an arena annoucer to convey feedback on what the player did/needs to do. Again, that art is brilliant. The controls are a little to get used to, but it also adds a good little dash of challenge. Great LD game! You guys should be proud :]
I liked the idea of your game and the art is neat. For some reason, the controls on the Mac version are a bit laggy, but since no one else has complained, I guess that's only a problem I have. But else, the game is awesome! Highly rated and totally recommended for anyone.
If you could check my game out, it'd be great! Link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/123
Good game. Really polite. I really like the feeling created by the sword and are placemnt, the trick and simple but very efficient. good job.
Very cool! The art was "smashing" and the game was just really appealing in general :)
Nice work, excellent look and feel!
Awesome game! Especially the graphics are great! I really enjoyed playing it even though the mouse controll was sometimes a bit weird.
It would be really cool If you could check out our game as well! (https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/cartds)
As others have already said, voice acting is great and game is polished as heck! Ship it!
Also found same issues as many other players. You can get pinballed from full health to empty gauge in seconds - and speaking of that gauge! First I was wondering why my character was running around without any health, but then I noticed that the face in corner got increasingly beat up after running out of HP. Instead of having two different meters, I think you should stick to one method of tracking health.
Other QoL-improvements I can think of: Consider giving the player a couple of invincibility frames after getting hit to combat the issue of death by Astrojump. Game should inform the player in some way when the dash is ready to be used again (be it UI, sound effect, anything). I found myself either spamming the space bar constantly or completely forgetting that dash even existed.
Both my controllers are currently recharging, so can't comment on those controls yet. Mouse aiming was pretty unwieldy at times, especially since in this game you really have to be precise to build those combos.
Nitpicks aside, game is good, and you are clearly a group of talented individuals. Keep at it!
Oh my god this game is among the most fun that I've played this ludum dare. I don't have much to add that hasn't been said already. Great job:D
I'd love it if you could check out my game, I'd appreciate it very much. If your feeling up to it here's the link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/yum-some
The graphics were amazing but the controls really hurt the experience. I liked the Pipimi face on the background character.
nice graphics and animations, cool genre combination, unfortunately the learning curve in correlation with the control is too steep, but on the whole a very great game
If you have still some time, I would love it if you could test our game. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/astropover
I found the voice acting, font, and graphics awesome! It's rare to find LD games with this level production value. I had some issues with collision though, but to be fair I was playing the WebGL version, and the downloadable version might have far better performance
This one is really enjoyable. Very nice work !
One constructive thing to say : the hitbox of the ennemies. They seem really big. In a way, it makes hitting the right ennemy in a crowd difficult, and that's good, but on the other side, it's hard to navigate through this. Sh'mup tend to have little hitbox with bigger sprites. Here it's the opposite and it feels somewhat strange. But sincerely, that's very nitpicky.
This one is really fun, and I absolutely love the art style!!
Really great job on this, I can't wait to see more of your work! :)
Our game is at https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/tower-defense-paradise
Nice game and pretty fun. Love the graphics!
This is really good stuff! I could not stop playing for 40 minutes straight. That pop team epic reference got me smiling like an idiot
