LD38 — A Small World

Small World Transport by devpaul 2017-05-05T00:10:32Z

What you did get done was done very well. It seems like you were very close to having a complete game before you ran out of time. Since you're using Unity, I would look into building your future LD games as WebGL. It makes it much more likely to be played.

I'd kill for a gym membership by cptalbertwesker 2017-05-01T19:15:56Z

Interesting concept, but I didn't really feel like I was playing a game. I think I won? I'm not quite sure. It could have used an end scene. The way the game is titled, I was fully expecting to start murdering people, haha!

To do list by Finlal 2017-05-03T03:51:17Z

Holy crap, this is amazing. This inspires me to try so much harder in future LDs. *Greatjob* Four Quarters!

Advanced Mitosis by Endurion 2017-05-01T19:35:46Z

I love the innovation brought to the "Fishy" style game. You added some great features to that genre. Some critiques: - I had to give up on the "Engagement" level, it was too slow to keep repeating. - You move faster going diagonally. - The movement sound effect started to get annoying.

Flurpies by Gumboot 2017-05-01T20:56:45Z

Nice work! I hope to begin my own virtual pet game soon, so this was very inspiring!

Karma is a Bitch by drmargarido 2017-05-01T20:32:47Z

Great innovation, I love the idea of your own attacks coming back at you. However, the collision and randomness of spawns made it so I never made it that far. It feels like you really could have used an extra hour or two to tighten things up just a little bit more, then you would have had a really good game!

Inside the Blockhead by Photon 2017-05-18T19:41:16Z

Nice job! I loved the controls. I, too, had some troubles with the jumping, but I was able to persevere and make it to the end.

Gnome Town by Campbell 2017-05-01T17:42:24Z

Thanks everyone! @occultone @pierallard - I've been working on another build with a better control UI, but I always imagined porting it to mobile

Gnome Town by Campbell 2017-05-03T19:55:11Z

@dakikad That's right. I've never made any music before, but that is one of my goals for the next LD.

@jeremy-ryan I have the first jump prompted in the updated version I am working on. Hopefully it helps avoid confusion.

The Nedludd Club by zaibakk 2017-05-01T20:07:30Z

I'm impressed with how much you were able to squeeze into one weekend! It definitely has the longest playtime of the games I've tried so far. I wasn't able to finish, couldn't find the computer that the bartender was talking about. Am I supposed to have a map? NPCs kept mentioning it, but I couldn't find it.

LD39 — Running out of Power

Crazy Car by ritoban123 2017-08-03T00:45:23Z

Congrats on your first LD! The only thing I found frustrating was the cooldown on lane changes. Nice job for how little time you had.

Spincharge by DMajor 2017-08-02T23:49:40Z

The controls felt very unresponsive, and the tops could get very jittery. It seemed like maybe you were relying on Unity's physics when making some basics on your own would have been smoother. Maybe that was outside of the scope of your weekend though. I liked your use of the theme, it was nice to see a "kinetic" power instead of battery power.

A Night at Grandpa's by Kingethaniel 2017-08-03T00:57:58Z

Amazing job! Your graphics and audio worked very well together, creating a great mood. The only issue I had was at the beginning, not realizing the flashlight drained so quickly and would kill you if it ran out.

RooP by Genpaku 2017-08-02T23:38:26Z

I thought it was funny when the two cop cars show up behind you. The obstacles look like land mines, so I was a little disappointed when I hit them and they didn't play an explosion sound.

Low Battery by Battle Buddy 2017-08-02T23:19:23Z

Nice work! The menu and intro looked really well done. I felt like the graphics and level design were a little lacking, but over all it was quite impressive for a jam game.

The only problem I had was that I missed the word "frozen" on the janitors keys. If you have the frozen keys and check the toolbox, it still just says "I can't open it, I need another key". I died on my first playthrough because I spent too much time backtracking trying to find another set of keys.

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Advance Cookwares by Aurel300 2018-05-02T14:32:58Z

Very cool, but also frustrating. It is an amazingly beautiful game, but I feel like I'm missing out because I don't know how to play it. A short video of you playing through the scorpion fight would do wonders.

Jotunn Trivia by Thirsty 2018-05-02T22:40:41Z

I don't know anything about norse mythology, so a lot of answers just looked like jumbled letters for me to smash randomly. Thanks for making an HTML game!

a new day dawns by Ovidios 2018-04-25T17:22:30Z

Nice work! I did a match-3 game as well, and it seems like this game suffers one of the same issues: The randomness out ways the strategy. It doesn't matter how good you are at the game, just which tiles fall for you. Still, I think that's a problem with all match-3 style games. You did a great job at a match-3 tower-defense mashup.

Boxing Surgery Simulator 2000 by ponywolf 2018-04-27T18:03:52Z

Amazing game! Just wished I knew what I was doing a little more, but I am thoroughly impressed.

A Tale of Comedy and Tragedy by jelch 2018-04-29T04:33:18Z

Thanks for making an HTML5 game! I thought the graphics were nice, but very small. As others have stated, the line breaks in the middle of words isn't great. Overall, it was a pretty decent game.

Love In The Gaming Club by D-Studios 2018-04-29T01:08:24Z

Some of the jumps felt like it was just a random chance to see if the physics engine would allow you to pass. Thanks for making an HTML5 game!

LoveGarden by Le6barbare 2018-04-27T17:36:49Z

I love the characters, they are adorable. The game is extremely hard though, it could really use some re-balancing.

Might and Matchic by Campbell 2018-04-25T17:42:08Z

@Jakupf Woah, I'm surprised that I've never heard of those games, thank you!

Might and Matchic by Campbell 2018-04-27T22:42:38Z

@Tay @Chunkybrewster I did have more that I wanted to do, like powerups, fighting multiple enemies, and weaknesses. In the end I just needed to get it done, and a lot had to be cut. TIC-80 is basically just a free version of PICO-8. It's fun to use, but since all of your code has to be on the same page, it turns into spaghetti really quickly. The memory limit on your code also makes you code with awful variable names and no comments until you can see how big the game is actually going to be. If you want to try it out you can mess around with my code and resources just by pressing escape while playing.

Aloisius by Rongo Matane 2018-04-24T17:19:48Z

Really nice work! The game size is way too big for my screen, I had to zoom out to 66% before it was playable. It seems like something I would have played on miniclip or addictinggames 10 years ago.

Missile Mayor by Besmundu 2018-04-30T16:07:16Z

The screen resolution kept me from being able to play the game, since I couldn't reach the UI. So unfortunately I can't really give you a rating. All I could do was shoot missiles until I got a game over.

Super Slime Slasher Ultra by sebastianscaini 2018-05-02T22:29:51Z

Beautiful entry! Mouse controls are horrible, but I don't have a gamepad to play with. I also got stuck on slimes a lot, and lost a lot of health to getting pinballed around helplessly by groups of slimes. With just a couple tweaks I could easily see me playing this 15 years ago on Neopets XD

Beet Farmer by oneseedfruit 2018-04-27T17:51:10Z

This was very well done, the only real problem was figuring out what to do. I didn't want to read a wall of text just to play a 5 minute game, so the video was a nice addition. Thanks for making an HTML5 game!

Gender Circles by EkkoEkko 2018-04-24T17:32:04Z

Good job on the game! Did you misread the theme? XD

Platforming Knight by Jakupf 2018-04-25T18:02:52Z

I didn't find it very "fun" to play. It's very tedious navigating through the menus for every little action. But it is very cool, you did a great job of putting the theme to the test. Full points to innovation and theme!

Run 'N Hide by MooseHat 2018-04-24T17:43:12Z

Thank you for making an HTML game! It's so much easier when I don't have to download something. Is this your first game? Colors are hard on the eyes, no sound, and the replay button doesn't work. But congrats on finishing!
