LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Make It To The End by Repusv 2017-12-06T21:01:51Z

I finished it! I felt like a turtle however, going slow and steady haha.

I really like how the ship feels, this is probably my favourite game of this Ludum Dare. When you go fast, the sense of speed is really good. My only complaint is probably that even though I like how the ship moves, sometimes it's a bit TOO floaty (just a bit), and you die too easily, making it better to go slow. And that's not fun in a game like this where going fast is crazy fun.

Overall, very nice job!

Give Me a Pound My Friend by KriskyD 2017-12-06T20:34:33Z

I also tried collecting coins, but thatt quickly went south haha. I thought that using the LMB for gettign rid of the beggars was a bit annoying. Maybe you could have used som sort of QTE for that instead, using the keyboard?

BlueLimbo by Minord 2017-12-06T13:06:20Z

The mood in this game is great! I liked both the music and the artstyle, there's a real sense of horror in here. The life mechanic was great, and lead to the ironic scenario of getting more life being a death sentence haha. The thing that holds the game back is the controls. Too unresponisve and slippery, making the platforming really hard. Otherwise, really nicely done!

The Carrier by Pixel Shade 2017-12-06T21:16:28Z

Thanks everyone! This was our very first game jam ever, so we appreciate the kind words!

Regarding the difficulty we may need to change some parts. We want it to be a somewhat tricky game that you learn to master, but maybe starting out a bit easier would be preferrable, I agree. :)

The Carrier by Pixel Shade 2017-12-11T14:37:19Z

@potti Thanks for the feedback! I agree about the walls, we were maybe thinking about having a damage-system, so that you're able to hit a wall a few times before dying. Will try to look into the landning pad issue a well.

Thanks @shinyogre! Yes, we agree that instruction are pretty poor at the moment, but we didn't have time. If we release the game further down the road we'll be sure to ramp up the difficulty and explai nthe game much better.

We'll try to rate other games, I've just hadn't had the time. But thank you for the encouraging words!

Passenger Peril by Julester 2017-12-06T12:03:21Z

Enjoyed this one!Kicking people was really fun, and I loved it when I realized I could open the doors inside the planes to kick people out! The design of the characters was good, but I think the plane itself needed a bit more work. The audio was ok, but the soundtrack was a bit too repetitive. Overall, I enjoyed it, and the humour was great!

Late Night Chef by DosWosh 2017-12-06T12:26:23Z

Shit, didn't expect this to be scary. I never play horror games, so the jump scare got me good! Really loved the atmosphere, felt like a Mac Donald's employee's nightmare. Found it a bit hard to actually perform well, and some of the customers' requests felt hard to understand.

MetastaKill by TenSolz 2017-12-06T12:33:48Z

I liked it, but the gunplay felt a bit basic. The character design was good though, I especially liked the invincible green blobs that hurled green projectiles.

Squares & Hexes by Tom Robson 2017-12-06T21:12:55Z

Nice! Reminded me of "The Impossible Game", or whatever that game was called :) Timing the jumps was fun, however there seems to be a delay in some jumps. For example, if you press space just before you die, the next life you spawn jumpijng, which was pretty frustrating at times. :O Liked the graphics and the music

Barnacle Dash by Philippe 2017-12-06T12:15:27Z

Liked the concept of having the barnacles slow you down, made it interesting when deciding which way to go. I liked the design of the submarine. The music howwver was very repetitive, would have liked just some ambient music instead.

ISS Strike by IDEA_Games 2017-12-06T20:44:48Z

Very nice atmosphere in this one! I liked the concept a lot, and most of the time it was fun. However, the red lines indicating where the asteroids are going were a bit deceiveing at certain times. I was hit a lot by asteroids that, according to the red line, were going to miss me.

Also, sometimes it was hard to really know in what way the station would spin.

Other than that, I really enjoyed it, good job!

StarBounce by Azathothep 2017-12-06T12:47:33Z

Nice game! Liked that the bullets bounced everywhere, made me consider for a whle wheteher I shoul shoot and get more bullet bouncing around, or just take the shot. The art style was a bit all over the place. The enemies seemed to have acompletely different art style than the main character? Overall I enjoyed it, but a more coherent art style would have made it better :)

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Platjectile by APTriangle 2018-04-24T12:15:20Z

Nice game, but a bit short. I agree that the physics are a bit wonky, but I still liked them. A few more levels and mechanics and it could be quite fun

Elemento by Togis 2018-04-24T12:35:06Z

Nicely done! I liked the "board game"-esque style of the levels, and the combining mechanic was cool. However, I didn't really know which combinations where stronger, or what they did differently. I ended up mostly having to put up towers using earth.

Blockland by Ghost20000 2018-04-24T11:13:24Z

Got to wave 6 on my last try!

I liked the game, but didn't see where the platformer aspect really comes in. None of the enemies I saw used the hovering platforms, everyone went along the ground. I liked the simplicity of the game, but would have liked to been able to use more tactics for each wave

Missile Mayor by Besmundu 2018-04-24T09:49:06Z

Gaah, it was published as a Draft! Fixed it now

Missile Mayor by Besmundu 2018-04-24T12:18:13Z

@Jani Nykanen Aha, that sucks! I'm not sure why that's happening. But I had problems uploading the game from the start, getting the UI to fit and all. Maybe it's related to that.

Missile Mayor by Besmundu 2018-05-01T09:19:02Z

@ARuculaDoMal Haha, yes, I never worked with UI in Unity before, and managed to screw it up a lot.

@ArturasD I didn't have time to properly playtest and balance, so I absolutely see what you mean. I think some tweaking to the amount of money you earn would have helped a lot

@Campbell Oh, I'm sorry for that. Did you press the full screen button, and still you didn't see the UI? This happened for me on my surface pro, which has a resolution higher than 1080p.

@Tero Laxström Thanks, and glad you liked the music!

Missile Mayor by Besmundu 2018-05-11T12:35:33Z

@mic_matrix91 Thank you for the feedback! :D Glad you liked it.

Yes, I know. I've unfortunately not had the time to rate as man y games as I've wanted to. Hopefully I can get a few more votes though

Missile Mayor by Besmundu 2018-05-11T12:40:44Z

@ian1337 Thanks! The hitboxes should be the same size as the meteor sprite, but I can look into that.

I'll try to play your game when I have the time :)

Missile Mayor by Besmundu 2018-05-11T15:19:55Z

Woooow, thanks to everyone who voted and commented since my last comment here! I now have over 20 votes! Thank you sooo much :)

@goffmog Glad you liked the music! I'll try out your game when I can and help you out!

@Joror Great feedback, I like all of your suggestions!

@RockhopperGames Ah, great to hear, so happy you liked the music!

@DerLasseHenrich Thank you :)

@shrinjoy_fox Thanks, I'll try it out when I can!

@digitaldude555 Great that you like the music! Yes, balancing at the moment isn't the best, and the snowball effect is very real. If I continue on with this game I'll surely balance it out a lot better. And yeah, repairing silos should probably be cheaper. My reasoning was that they are so important that I wanted to punish you for letting them get destroyed.

@tigerj Thank you! Yeah, mobile could be a very good platform for a game like this. A ui timer is of course a great addition, I like that idea. I think I know why the UI is screwed up, but I haven't had the time to go into this project again and work on it. Maybe in the future :)

@0nironauta Ah, sucks that you couldn't play it, I apologise for that. But glad you liked what you could play! I'll let you know if I fix the issues :)

Missile Mayor by Besmundu 2018-05-11T18:03:24Z

@Corbak Thanks! Yes, the middle missile silo shots faster than the other two. It's like that in the original missile command game, so I kept it. :) I had shoot on right click since I didn't want you to accidentally shoot a missile when trying to collect resources, thus wasting missiles.

@Floc That seems to be common thing, left click to do the main action is probably a standard I should have kept to. Glad that you liked it, and happy that the music was good!

Jump & Cards by Beh 2018-04-24T12:02:06Z

Great idea! I had a hard time getting past the first obstacle (that should be a bit easier), but after that I started to get it and have fun. I also think that the game should be slowed down a bit, since sometimes it's really hard to hit the right card in time to jump or stop.

The music was setting a nice vibe, very chill. Good job!

Turn Around - When turn-based rules meets their opposite ! by ValBoise 2018-04-24T11:27:46Z

Wasn't super intuitive at first, but when I got a grip on it it became really fun. Nice mix om genres, love the simple art style and the golden look. The one thing I didn't like was the music, which was too repetitive. Overall, great job!
