A sweet, short game! The only negative point I could see is that the line breaks can be at the middle of a word (might depend on the resolution).

justinooncx 2018-04-24 15:47

That was... an interesting experience~ I see you tried to combine theater genres in your narrative, so that was a twist. The puzzles were simple enough; even found a way to play the last level without needing to use the box at the top of the stage. It's a shame there wasn't any real tragedy in the game, though you tried to put in a few puns here and there... You've urned a few points in humor for that, at least. Art and sound were rather delightful, very well done on that end. All in all, a pretty solid entry! Good job!

Great job! Gameplay feels solid and I love the art and entire presentation

jon-nova 2018-04-24 15:51

realy cool !!! i love the theater style.

darby-costello 2018-04-24 15:54

Cool little game. I liked the dialogue and the mechanics, as well as the vignetted lighting. Good job.

victrola-sage 2018-04-24 15:57

Played the whole thing! It gave me a sort of Undertale vibe with the characters, which really made the game for me. I'm normally a little leery of puzzle of platformers but I really enjoyed this. Nice job!

Nice use of Bxfr! Unfortunately I missed a bunch of dialog from pressing buttons too fast.

samueldeboni 2018-04-24 16:43

Really nice game. I love puzzle games, and the basic mechanic and the levels are realy well done.

goat-toaster-games 2018-04-26 10:18

This was very nice! The main thing I had trouble with though was the text. It often had words seperated and sometimes went too fast for me to read. Other than that though, I loved this! Nice graphics, puzzles and characters

arche-san 2018-04-28 17:21

Finished! Good vibes between the two characters. Good job! :)

lereveur 2018-04-28 23:02

What a strange and unexpected mood for a puzzle plateformer! I finished it, and this is not as short as one could expect for a LD, so good job!

Thanks for making an HTML5 game! I thought the graphics were nice, but very small. As others have stated, the line breaks in the middle of words isn't great. Overall, it was a pretty decent game.

paddywhq 2018-04-29 04:47

Great job guys:) the level design is great, I hope the story is longer and the continuous levels could be hearder

ryan-bishop 2018-04-29 04:57

This is a really cool game! The art style is weird but i like it a lot, and the theater aspect is very neat. The music is spot on and good to listen to, the puzzles were well designed and kept me interested, and i really dug the humor. I experienced a few glitchy bits: The first is while i am holding the urn and trying to push a block, the block will get stuck to me and move as i do, lucky this can be fixed easily by jumping or setting the urn down, this also happens if you run into it at odd angles like the very top of it, or by getting pushed into the block by a moving platform. Second, if there is a non-moving semi-solid platform close the ground, walking near it will mess up the players movement a bit, allowing you to walk on nothing (only while still near the platform). Third, I think it may be impossible to advance text with the controller, but everything else with the controller worked fine. All said and done, this is a wonderful and cute game. great job!

Text are too small (graphics too...) but nice game, well done

legavroche 2018-04-29 05:20

I genuinely feel that I cannot add any more feedback then my colleagues above so I will emphasize that I loved the graphics, mood and tone of the game. Incorporating things like the stage lighting as a gameplay mechanic was very cute. Gameplay and puzzle mechanics were solid and well-paced in terms of a learning curve. Again, as others have stated, the small font and line breaks in the middle of words made it difficult to catch the plot and subtle humor.

Very nice presentation. Feels like I am playing an 8 bit console game from the golden old days.

morrilet 2018-04-29 05:46

This was really cute. The puzzles were well designed and the presentation was smooth. I had to maximize the window to see things properly, though, and the text was a little hard to read as the spacing didn't seem even on it and words had line-breaks part way though. I also wasn't sure what two genres you mixed to get this, as it seems to me that it's just a puzzle game. Platformer, maybe? Anyway, the entry was solid. Good work!

torak-whiteleopard 2018-04-29 07:44

The game's theatre style was really nice. The lighting was a nice unique mechanic and the dialogue kept me going through the game as I wanted to hear more.

macdoom 2018-04-29 07:44

The graphics are great but they look so little it's hard to appreciate them. The contrast of genres isn't evident as I think it should be more videogame mechanics than storytelling. Good puzzles! Congratulations!

chainedlupine 2018-04-29 09:05

Well, some people took the theme to mean gameplay genres, other took it to mean other forms of genres. Which one is correct? I think both are! So it's nice to see more along those lines.

Neat game, I like the life-as-a-stage presentation of it. It was a bit small to play in the browser, though; I also missed a lot of the dialog, and that made me sad since I wanted to hear what the two characters were saying.

Good entry!

ragnta 2018-04-29 09:18

It's a very nice game, I like you idea, but I think the resolution is too small. Great job anyway!

jesper-fyhr-knudsen 2018-04-29 09:40

Very strong entry. It was fun, looks and sounds good, and most importantly the puzzles were well designed. I was considering a puzzle game too, but was afraid that I could make fun/interesting puzzles in a short time, so shied away from it. Really nice job.

linus 2018-04-29 09:42

I like the idea of combining two themes in another way than simply combining two mechanics from two incompatible genres. It worked quite good in this game, but everything was so small it was hard to focus on the text.

The dialog was interesting but I accidently skipped through some of it because I pressed x right after the dialog appeared.

All the puzzle mechanics worked really good and I liked that the puzzles changed a lot with time. Good gameplay.

Cool game overall, and very good effort.

alpdogan 2018-04-29 10:02

Nice one! I especially liked the chemistry between characters. Keep up the good work.

beebo-studios 2018-04-29 12:57

Wow, the sense of style in this one is really good! I really like the dynamics between the two characters and the music is top notch!

Really cool game!

kr4ft3r 2018-04-29 20:32

Pretty smart, Tragedy has taken over life and Comedy has died but its spirit lives on, and is essential to carry on. Puzzles are well balanced, decent sound and graphics (for a LD entry). I did had fun and probably some emotional reaction as well. I don't like CX controls, it takes some processing power to recall which one is for what. I'm not really sure which two genres were combined, looks like puzzle platformer with some dialogues, all of which can often be seen in one genre.

Good game. The puzzles were nice, and the atmosphere was calm. I also liked the character dynamics, but am still a little confused what the second genre you mixed was. Good job none the less!
