LD38 — A Small World

Near kingdoms by Hadik 2017-05-02T07:20:29Z

Nice! I loved it actually. Simple art, but clear gameplay and mechanics that worked in almost seamless fashion. Some extra mechanics could be added to increase the fun and gameplay, but being able to increase the difficultly does add a smidgen of replay-ability. Nice job. If you haven't already, check out my game! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/slovenly-shopper

Bunosphere by torcado 2017-05-02T07:04:32Z

Very pretty, puzzling and a pleasant experience. The art was pretty. The game actually had me stumped all the way through it. I'll definitely tell my friends about it. Try out my game! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/slovenly-shopper

IT'S SO CUTE!!!!! It's so ~refreshing~ to get some super nice visuals and tunes in these games, I love it! It has great design and lots of nice details, also the game play isn't bad at all. I loved playing this with my partner and solving puzzles in co-op together. Please check out my game! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/slovenly-shopper

RASHLANDER by ryguydavis 2017-05-05T03:32:35Z

Wow, nice game! The graphics are simple, but really pack a punch. I really wanted to keep playing this but I have to stop at some point and do Homework! Good work. Here, if you want to check my game out too I'd really appreciate it: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/slovenly-shopper

Not Enough Room by rubyleehs 2017-05-02T07:00:39Z

I had a good time with this one. Simple art, not much to latch onto, but it's got promise in the mechanics. I loved the feeling of the controls, smooth and responsive, especially when paired with the fast paced puzzle-like gameplay. You've got the skeleton for a great game. Yeah, it could use a bit more work in level design and graphics, but all the same it's a fun little game. Good work! If you would check out mine I'd appreciate it! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/slovenly-shopper

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Puzz Snake by Igor KinGamer 2018-04-29T06:24:37Z

Interesting combo here! I thought the first two stages were really fun, i couldn't get past the third one, "Climb and Fall", though. It had a good progression as the beginning, but then just got way to hard for me. Idk if I just suck, but I couldn't stop dying 😅

Age of Pacman by Linus 2018-04-30T01:23:26Z

A solid RTS pacman army vs. tower themed game ^^. Pretty fun, kinda cool looking, alright sound effects. Great work.

Stop The Munchies by Sarah 2018-04-29T05:45:11Z

*I am the* **MUNCHIE MASTER! **

Music, art, programming; this is a lot for one person to complete in a handful of days! And it works! The color palette was good, and the music wasn't bad either. The game works fine and the mechanics are fun. With a good team I'd be excited to see what you could make.

Hrm, on to business...

For this game to make sense and to understand the controls fully, you might have to thoroughly read the manual. Having more content in the realm of helping the player figure out the game, or making the interface user friendly would be the best improvement in my book. Still, with your aloneness this is great work!!

Match Strike by chainedlupine 2018-04-29T05:01:02Z

WTF COULDN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO LAND AT THE BASE TO REFUEL!!! SFKJDFKWQA!!! Besides that, the feeling and mechanics of soaring in this game are **so fun** and it *felt great* and realistic.

I loved the overall design, it was immersive, and the "match strike" in the menu was a nice touch 😂. The sound design was really immersive too! Really appreciate the voice acting and it's guidance... *though i couldn't do some of the things it instructed me to do...*

Still, if I didn't have more games to rate tonight, I'd be playing your game some more because it felt so satisfying to lift off and fly.

Try our game and give us a rate too! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/a-tale-of-comedy-and-tragedy

City Blocks by legavroche 2018-04-29T06:15:26Z

This is a solid little game! Loved your attention to laying out and setting up the mechanics for the player. It was easy to pick up, with details like "type me", and the simple intuitive breakout style. I was able to jump right in, and the fast-paced easy-to-learn gameplay was very captivating.

I noticed during my second play-through that the words I was typing were kinda all strangely *negative*, and I began to worry about your writer 😱

I realize now that this game was intentionally in a horror style! The bland art and music direction really made it easy to think the scary words were an accident, which in turn made it more unsettling! I think its a really cool psychological-horror spin!

This game is solid.

Might and Matchic by Campbell 2018-04-29T07:23:06Z

This is a pretty cool little game! Love the vibe, art and mechanics. The feeling I was getting from the art style and game play really made me crave more story type elements. Adding more creative narrative in some way, either through music, or giving the enemies names, or a little transition between battles, just a little more of something would really help it feel more captivating and fun. With the time that you had, you made a nice game.

Battle Bots by Human 2018-04-30T01:03:47Z

Super jam entry! Idk how fun fighting the AI is, but I had fun playing this against my boyfriend.

The music is really nice and sets the mood. The cool sound effects are nice too. Even though it was turn based, it felt fast paced. The affect of time stopping as bullets are flying around was really cool. I wish there were more stages with obstacles to try out!

Pinboy-an RPG+ Pinball game by Colleen9416 2018-04-29T07:31:20Z

**Loooooove that art!**

Super adorable, silly, fun, and also super polished for a game jam game! VERY nice. I did find the music to be a bit repetitive after a while, but it was a good laugh and mood setter at the beginning!

Beet Boy by Ryan Bishop 2018-04-30T00:23:48Z

Did you make this all by yourself for the jam? I really liked it! ^o^

Your art is really charming and fills the world with character. The puzzles created by the topdown and platformer interaction are fun, kind of like what celeste did, but with an intriguing twist. The music is good, the world building with the art, is again, so good.

This game feels really fleshed out. It's hard to find anything to critique! I love the ghosts coming out from the tree layers in the beginning. The inventory was cool! I like how you changed the music once the player character left the "safety" of home. The amount of animations the player character had was also a nice touch. This game felt immersive and full of good content. If I was to critique one thing, it would be that some of the art assets seem to have different art style, but it adds to the vibe anyways. Very good work here!

Maze in dark by Richnou 2018-04-30T00:43:29Z

Cool game!

It didn't need to have good graphics, but I like what you added with the brail. The game play has a lot to do with sound, since hearing is the the main sense you use to play without sight. I'd love a little more indication of where I am in the house (different walking sounds for concrete, tiles, wood, carpeted floor/different tap sounds for wood, glass, metal etc. ). I felt disoriented playing this game, but it was an interesting experience to play a game without looking at a screen.

Nice work here.

Sword step by DarthWaxus 2018-04-29T03:39:46Z

Love the minimalistic art style. It's nice how simple and easy to learn. It was fun! The one critique I have, is that I couldn't tell which fighter I was sometimes, which makes it hard to play. I'd suggest giving the player character a different color or something.

I'd love for you to rate my game too! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/a-tale-of-comedy-and-tragedy
