Solid concept and well executed. It's hard but it's not frustrating.
One thing you could try adding is revealing the level at the end to make the player realize exactly what they were facing.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD41 → Maze in dark

I played this through finding the remote. Not the most fun game, but perhaps that's part of the point. Has a very serious mood, feels like a commentary game, putting you in the shoes of someone who can't see their surroundings, or read written text. I was excited to see this game as I've wanted to do something similar, but with a more game-like feel.
Its a bit of a stretch as far as the jam theme, it's basically just a simulator. It is rather unique in that many games are graphically driven, so it's quite a departure.
The audio clip for a collision is odd, it sounds almost like a ceramic tap, when I would expect to hear something more solid most of the time. A nothing there (swish-y or tappy) sound would have been nice also, just for more feedback.
This games shines more as an experience than a game. It's not something that is really fun to play, but rather something that you might find enriching to have played.
@pokenoufl : Thank you :-)
I hesitated about this, but I think it's less "immersive". Maybe I would add this as an "option".
Great concept that was well executed. I hope this game gets more attention!
@GameCarpenter
Agree: this is more "simulation" than other. And you are right: after working and testing, the "game play" is more play than game.
For the "nothing sound": good idea (and why not another sound for tap-a-wall).
Thank's for your feedback.
@TheZingThing : Thank’s for your feedback :-)
Very good concept, I don't think I've ever come across another blind game like this before. Great work and thanks for playing my game too :)
@quixatocs : thanks :-)
really liked this game, while i played i had the same thought as pokenoufl, i want to see how the level was and a replay of the character reproducing my movements would be fun, seeing it all lost ia a room trying to find the exit
Freaking amazing! Excelent work, wanna check ours too??

it is a really cool concept you have here ! Well done on making this :) I actually got quite far and the sounds are really helping. Interesting idea by the way. Well done
Graphics rating for a game like this is pure irony. Love it.
- Pros: Super innovative, I've never played anything like this, and yet it makes so much sense. Like the Braille you got going on.
- Cons: More on me than the game but I suck at directions so I bailed quite early. And thus the levels I played were a bit samey.
All in all it's a great effort to bring something new to the table. Mad respect :)
@jaime-paz-lopes : thank's for your feedback. i'll do test of the suggestion to "see" if it is viable (i think so) and how...
@corbak : thank's
@GastricSparrow : of course for the graphics :-)
For levels, yes they look same (not exactly). A little lack of time for this aspect...
What a brilliant concept! It would be nice if there were more sounds to know where you were (carpet vs wood floor, fridge sounds, etc). But man, a blind pac-man. Who thinks of these kinds of things? :D
@AfroAnt : thank's for you feeback :-)
Nice idea the multiple sounds
Nice idea and implementation :)
Cool game!
It didn't need to have good graphics, but I like what you added with the brail. The game play has a lot to do with sound, since hearing is the the main sense you use to play without sight. I'd love a little more indication of where I am in the house (different walking sounds for concrete, tiles, wood, carpeted floor/different tap sounds for wood, glass, metal etc. ). I felt disoriented playing this game, but it was an interesting experience to play a game without looking at a screen.
Nice work here.
The Idea is very nice and it is a very nice entry! Really good job
@joqlepecheur , @elsiana-eaves , @jin9310 : thanks for feedback... and yes : multiple sounds to give a more "deep" experience should be great...
Thank you for such a deep game, it allows to think about life. I got an unusual experience playing this game.
Maybe show levels after passing to understand which path has been done?
@darkwing00duck : thank's for feedback. I'm thinking about the "after level" effect... I'm still not sure how...
Nice! Reminds me of https://twitter.com/mazeBotGame , a bot that provided a text-based maze on Twitter from a few years ago. It didn't give any visual feedback, and early on, the human players kept walking in circles, until someone else made https://twitter.com/MazeBotBot , a bot to display the first bot's maze as pictures and suggest the best direction to explore.
@monika : didn't know Maze Bot... interesting concept
Who would've thought someone would make a game with Braille.
