Actually pretty interesting game! After reading the description I was quite confused what the time mechanic was meant to be. But after I started playing I was actually positively surprised how it worked. It was quite a clever idea to attach missile moving to time and only make the time pass when some actions where happening.

I should maybe play some more before I could comment on balance. I would imagine the game would quite easily last very long against a human player.

Overall I quite liked it! Mechanic was smart and with some more work on the game it might be quite good!

Definitely one of the best games I have played so far! The idea is clever and well executed and everything looks polished. Good job!

Just played the jam version. I really liked it for the concept and execution. I'd like to see more variations of the tanks and missiles which bend the current rules of the game. On bug that I found is that the background music track doesn't stop after restarting, another track overlaps on the previous one. Other than that, this is a pretty solid entry. Good luck!

A seriously polished entry, with a totally functional AI ! The graphics are really neat, and the sound design in particular gives to impact to the moves and shots. Gameplay-wise, this requires much more anticipation than I thought it would, and overall I had a great time. Nice job !

Amazing idea. Add a few more mechanics / arenas to mix things up and you're on to a winner. The one I would have liked would be to click one space away to fire bullets that move one square at a time.

great concept ! Modulable LD would be great. But the main mechanics works perfectly for me

That's a great game. I really enjoy playing it. I found a bug: If you stand between a wall and a bullet and you or your opponent makes any move (Screenshot below), the bullet disappears and you won't get hit. But other than just it's just an amazingly executed game.

Really nice game. The time mechanic is really cool and gives a lot of possibilities. The only thing is that maybe it lacks other possible actions. Other weapons would be interesting too.

Did you ever play the browser game "tank trouble"? In there, tanks fight in a labyrinth and bullets bounce of walls. Maybe the bounce mechanic can be interesting with the time system?

I understand that you might have already thought about a lot of this but 3 days are 3 days. Any way, really nice concept and game!

Hi everyone, we have thought of other possibilities. For the jam we wanted to keep it simple and polished. Now as the jam is over we will make it a complete game. Hi DerLasseHenrich, thanks for pointing out the bug.

human 2018-04-27 18:13

and if guys are interested you can play the post-jam version which has the bugs fixed and ai improved.

The mechanics are something I enjoyed the most about your game. Would love to see some expansion, perhaps with some environment tiles. Might help to change the tactics of the gameplay a little. Good Job!

It kind a reminds me game 'Into the breach'

Simple but surprisingly tactical. Good work!

Super jam entry! Idk how fun fighting the AI is, but I had fun playing this against my boyfriend.

The music is really nice and sets the mood. The cool sound effects are nice too. Even though it was turn based, it felt fast paced. The affect of time stopping as bullets are flying around was really cool. I wish there were more stages with obstacles to try out!

I really liked the graphics and the mechanics. It seems to have enough potential for adding new mechats as well.

I remembered a bit of (Star Wars) X-Wing tabletop game. In his the shots go in shifts and this adds a new dimension to the game, congratulations.

Gogogo! :) I would like to see more levels.

I liked that a fight can end really quick or last long time depending on your moves

saoi-games 2018-05-07 01:18

I’m not sure if you were able to see it, but I played your game on my stream at https://www.twitch.tv/saoigames tonight.

Thank you for making a multiplayer game for the Ludum Dare.

We played it and found that once we understood the controls, the game itself created a bit of stalemate. Instead of strategically fighting, we would just wait for the other player to make a mistake. Then it became as engaging as tic-tac-toe when you memorize the patterns.

I liked the visuals, but wish that the board would change between levels to force us to engage with each other in novel ways like moving closer or having barriers we could block but still need to move away from to shoot.

An objective other than trying to kill each other would have broken the stalemate. In Robo Rally, for instance, you are trying to go to specific spots on the map, and there are environmental hazards to avoid while you fight each other on the way there.

Thanks for the helpful comments. We are planning to go ahead with this game, your feedback will going to be an essential part of the design process.

Pretty cool game, it would be nice playing t with more variations in it (And also a second player in order to make the game more dificult haha)
