Awesome game, really great mechanic
This is a really neat little puzzler. Whilst I did get quite far I'm still not entirely sure on the ruleset (for example why can I move a row but then cannot move it back)
Fun little game. Nice to see some VR in LD35.
I like the idea of shipping headsets. It wasn't quite as self explanitory as you would have liked as the game gave no feedback as put boxes in the truck regardless of whether they were good or not.
Once I realised you could pull the shutter on the truck (which felt great!) I got the hang of it.
The one word of caution is to not assume the type of room height a player has got. I actually pressed my controller in the ceiling for the really tall truck shutter.
It really picked up there towards the end though. Fun!
It's a really neat proof of concept - I guess what you'll get from this jam is feedback on whether it works as a mechanic, to then build on, and in my view it's definitely worth exploring :)
Looks good, sounds good, fun to play!
Way too difficult and the controls weren't well explained. Particularly that the jump button doesn't actually clear jumps (you need float)
Solid entry - got the whole way through. Pretty simple, and I didn't get much excitement or climax from the story. The mood was definitely strong though.
Interesting concept but then feel out of the world in level 3 :(
Looks great, sounds great! Shame you don't really feel like you're working towards anything but, as you say, time pressure sucks!
Interesting concept but the menus should be driven by whats happenning in the game. If I die the menu should appear, I shouldn't have to hit escape, makes it feel way more clunky than it is, because other than that, this is cool.
Difficult, twitchy, frantic.... fantastic!
Really neat little game. Got stuck on the level with the mines which was quite frustrating otherwise I liked it
Really cool game, awesome mechanic. I want more!
Great little game, the platforming is a little too precise but otherwise good
Fun innovative concept, however, the game doesn't do a great job explaining what the goal actually is. The first few levels are already aiming at the pockets so I first assumed that I had to great holes that the balls had to avoid.
Really cool concept, love the transition between levels, just remove the beat basic movement as it's more annoying than fun.
Neat little game but why *all* the clicking. Would have preferred something a little gentler on the mouse.
Very interesting visual style. I'd have liked to see the theme more directly impact the game mechanics. As the character says, sliding on the ice WAS fun though :D
Lovely character art and some nice little animation touches.
Playing on Windows 10 - vague flickers of shapes, then as soon as I pressed anything my shape vanished! Seems maybe the Windows build isn't working
Really like the idea! I found it kinda tricky to attack, though I was on a touchpad, so maybe just the click input was dodgy! A really original take on the theme.
Good fit for the theme and a nice idea! I found a fair bit of waiting for the ghosts to sidle up to me, and I got stuck in bird form, couldn't morph to anything else, and couldn't progress.
Excellent game :) Think I played enough to get 8 different endings, the music is sweet, and the humour right up my street!
I wanted an option to make all the text appear at once, but I understand why you wanted to make it quick to skip through! The fact it has a delay on the options so you don't just accidentally pick one is a really nice touch :)
Awesome idea and a really unique twist on the theme. I think I had some issues as I needed to be kinda 2 inches off to the left of where I wanted to be clicking, which made it a bit tricky to play! But I could definitely see a great idea shining through!
Enjoyed it, played to the end :) I had to go read the description again afterwards to figure out why my weapons were changing, and the final boss fight took quite a while with the same tactics throughout... But then even the fact that it had a final boss fight in a 72 hour jam is really cool! Loved the mood and the graphics.
Looks *really* good, and it's got a good mood to it. The platforming gameplay is not really my thing though and possibly because I was so bad at it, I got frustrated always hitting balloons! The little game over messages are excellent tho XD
Having lives is needless and means I would need to repeat a lot. Very enjoyable otherwise.
Enjoyed this one - the simple hook of the characters trading states is one that is instantly appealing! I feel like it would probably need building out into multi-screen levels with a bit of exploration to get more mileage out of the puzzle mechanic (though maybe you have other ideas for post-compo!)
Awesome game, great atmosphere, but the controls were awful, particularly when trying to fight of the spider things.
My friend and I are both playing Ludum Dare entries tonight: just had fun explaining to him what the game I was currently playing was like :)
Neat little game but not sure how it applies to the theme (What exactly is shapeshifting) Also add a faster move speed.
Nice entry :) No issues, and a few minutes of good fun! Not the most innovative game, but a solid fun one
Nice little game. Lots of swapping!
Looks neat, good that it has an endpoint, and I enjoyed it!
Enjoyed playing this a lot! Nice the way it randomises every new game so you can play repeatedly :)
Really strong mood to this one :) I didn't get how to advance after a level ended for a while - turns out you needed to click on a character, which confused me because you never had to click on the character to advance the dialog at any other point.
Still, looks excellent, fun to play and a really interesting idea that I've not seen done before! Rated highly and would recommend :)
Really cool shifting mechanic hampered by a incredibly difficult random placement. If you had crafted the difficultly a little better than this would be pretty sweet. The first and only time I got enough coins I immediately died due to the placement of the track.
Looks great but really picky platforming controls. Got frustrated after hitting the spikes one too many times. Give me a version that doesn't require pixel perfect jumps please
This is very nice - like the look of it a lot, fits the theme well, and it's a nice relaxing little game to play through - good job!
Really great little game. The enemies were a little more annoying than I would have liked. Perhaps have more static hazards as lot of the fun is simply warping the area itself!
Had great fun with it for the first few fights, but I think the amount of time between goes at shapeshifting just put me off in the end. Coming up with words was *really* fun, and the responses you get back are very funny - my first full-marks for humour on this one :D
I could only ever seem to shoot the rightmost 2 aliens I'm afraid - after that all my shots went straight through (I did try switching colours accordingly of course :)
Awesome game, gets tough fast but that's part of the challenge! Like the gfx too
Oh no, restart from the beginning after a glitch and getting stuck in a wall :( Up until then I was rather enjoying it though! Music is cool, and the switching is nice.
Aaaaw, I managed to get stuck against the left hand side of the screen! I was really enjoying it though - a very nice game. No idea quite how I got so excited about what transformation would come next haha
Very nice game - my favourite I've played so far :) I guess the boss is the shapeshift bit? That's kinda tenuous tho! I think I walked too far back on him and he despawned and wouldn't come back, so I couldn't complete the game :(
Pretty cool :) Trying to get out of rooms left me just mashing the whole keyboard lol - I should've read the instructions better! But yeah, cool concept
Annoying that you can't quite. I didn't get exactly what was happening (or why my girlfriend ran away) but it was fun transforming things.
Yeah, I like this! Great going for a first game jam - the mechanic is neat, and the game has a fun tone to it. The "all progress will be lost" on death is a bit of a killer tho in terms of keeping me playing!
The game is way to tall even for my huge resolution laptop. Not sure what the gameplay is. An interesting first step
Got stuck on level 3! But I definitely enjoyed what I played of it, just couldn't work out how to get up a steep slope with only circle and square to switch between!
The rules for shifting shapes were not clear enough, should have ramped up a little or introduced concepts via early puzzles. The constantly changing background hurt my eyes.
I literally have no idea what's going on in this game. The cog just seems to be grinding the wall. Looks nice though.
You need to give feedback that you've killed the wrong thing or the right thing. I had no idea why the numbers were going up or down or why the game was randomly entering initially.
After reading the comments below I now understand what's going on. It's an interesting concept. Perhaps add other ways to discover whether a dragon is a kitten or not. Also don't change them when they're about to go off screen. That's a little unfair.
Jumping is just a little bit too difficult so it's incredibly frustrating when you'd grind against a wall
Those graphics almost gave me a fit. Also sometimes I got feedback that I lost a life even though I got the write shape. Get's confusing very quickly
It was really difficult to play and it wasn't particularly intuitive. That said, it was a neat concept
Take a while to get challenging. Should have ramped up a little sooner. Other than that, great!
Great concept. Wish there was more levels!
Interesting mechanic, *very* tough. Really had fun though!
Solid playable game! The link to the theme seems kinda weak - I guess it's that your snake gets longer as you eat. But yeah, that's just Snake ;)
Fun but the game feels way too zoomed in!
Really fun game. Gets a tough later on!
Yeah, I liked this! Felt like you'd genuinely embraced the theme, and the mechanics were introduced well. Can definitely see where you'd take it after the jam too! Character art really nice, but backgrounds could definitely benefit from some love too :)
You need to make clear what you're supposed to do.
Cool game, maybe have the colours at the bottom of the game, next to the spaceship so you don't have to keep moving your eyes up and down the screen.
Lovely art but very static - sounds and animation would really add polish here, and compliment that beautiful painting work. The game didn't really to have much progression to it, tho maybe I was missing something!
Really good game - one of my favourites I've played so far :) Nice one!
I like the "break a few eggs" linking with the theme, a neat little game here, shame that the relative lack of audio
I really like this concept and I really digged the mood/tone. The game felt a little stacked against me though when the hunter cards starting coming out.
Really interesting game. I suspect the RNG isn't being exactly truthful or at the very least isn't give a good balance. It seems to actually be scaled to a lot more difficult than the percentage seems to indicate.
Other than that, interesting mechanic and well presented.
It's increase the transition speed betweens days but an otherwise good entry :)
I like the idea, it might have been nice to have some extra ways to manage the crowd to try and minimise casualties
Nice concept. The camera felt *really* awkward to control though
Interesting but felt mechanically limited, you just picked a stop at a very beginning and wait 10 seconds (plus however long *every* rounds intro took) until you got your optimal 3x3 area
Neat little concept. I found it quite tricky to get the white ones to block the red sheep when they were on the wrong side.
It looked and felt lovely, But holding down on the mouse try to get them all up felt weird. I just didn't understand what it had to do with sacrifice either?
It felt like I lost most my ship after the first level, but a thoroughly enjoyable little game! I really liked it
From a polish perspective it's great. Just let down by poor controls on Windows.
Nice little platformer but the sacrifice theme was unclear.
Neat concept but leaving the other dimension takes a little too long so it's hard to execute some of the jumps
Solid little game. Sometimes the camera didn't pan out entirely but it was a neat concept.
I loved this little thing! It would have been great for the village to be a little hostile to you as you sacrifice them. But yeah, great!
Everything was way to slow and I didn't get the sacrifice theme.
Awesome game, it's telling how good a game is by how long you keep playing for :D. Really like the mechanic
Cool game with an epic, fight your way to the top feel. The only problem is that I didn't feel like fighting, I avoided most of the enemies on most floors. There's also no feedback to hitting things. I could tell the bats would die eventually but had no way of knowing if I was doing damage to the other baddies.
Also, I only ever saw the shop once, so I had bags of gold with no use for it.
A little frustrating to get starting but quite addictive when you get into the rhythm!
Amusing little thing. I liked navigating around, it would be good if you could 'retract' your finger so you could see a bit better. I couldn't get the last capsule!
Super interesting concept. Its quick to restart on death which is super important when death is so critical. The lift mechanic was very confusing until I figured you needed to be in a super exact spot.
A cool and unusual take on the theme. Just wish there was more items.
Really interesting concept. I love the visuals, music and general tone of the game. I think there needed to be a better explanation of the mechanics. I was just constantly picking four cards with numbers on. Didn't seen to be much jeopardy. I rated highly because I liked the vibe
Love it. Really great vibe, but I didn't know the limit was 1000 cultists. I was in the middle of moving every temple to the blue one when I hit the win condition! Great little idler. Would be nicer to have some other upgrades.
Maybe the cutscenes were a reflection about "wasting your life away" because they were long an unskippable. It was incredibly frustrating. That said, I loved everything about the actually gameplay.
Super interesting and unique experience. I'm not smart enough to figure it out though
It's reaaally challenging but very fun when you get into the groove.
I really enjoyed this one. Not sure what 'endings' there are. I got 14 chicks but it didn't feel special enough for me to want to go back and see the others.
I got caught out once on some of the descriptors (not sure I'd call a painting thin and blocky) but otherwise it was great.
Cool little game. Managed to complete the game. I like the slow ramp-up in difficulty but at times it does feel that it spikes. I do like the misleading items that you think you need to complete but don't. Agree with others in that the music shouldn't restart every time
Fun little action game but a very lose connection to the theme. Overall pretty good though :)
Interesting little entry. It definitely needs a very quick tutorial as it was confusing for the first few rounds.
Interesting game, but the controls were a little frustrating. Shoot should definitely had been mapped to the mouse to make combined platforming and shooting easier. As it is you have very little time to react to enemies shooting at you
Solid cool little game. Really like the ramp up in mechanics. At first I was trying to frantically get coins in before realising that being slow and controlled was more important.
Simple and fun mechanics, but there needed to be a little more forgiving in allowing you to hit non-patients. As it is you can just drive really slow.y
I really liked this one. The restart time is way too long when I wanted to jump into the next run
Awesome game and makes you keep playing to see how far the rabbit hole goes!
Interesting but there's a few wierds thing preventing me from enjoying it.
- Switch to keys rather than mouse for fast gameplay. - The right click to shoot (it's actually right then left to shoot) felt odd - The randomness causes a monster to spawn on the same square as me and I died.
One of the more polished games I've played. Really good game and concept. My minor suggestions would be a speed up button because when you inevitably get a paint wrong, you may have to wait some time before he loops back round for you to try again!
Great game. The handling is a little tricky, particularly in the tighter area, but awesome combat and mechanics.
Oh my days, this game is amazing! My only critique is that it's quite the penalty if you accidently fall and kill yourself, maybe have a checkpoint system rather than reset the level.
Love it! Strikes the perfect balance of avoiding the obstacles and trying to pay attention. Was satisfying to finish it!
Fun and original concept, but greater control over the car would have been appreciated.
Awesome game and concept. My first 5/5 game I've rated
Amusing concept, not sure how you figure out what emojis to send.
I randomly happened to play another guns n golf game just before this one. Yours was the better one!
It would have been nice to have more options against the zombies. I eventually got stuck on one of the multiple balls ways and had to give up.
I really liked the concept. Took a whilst to figure it out and some keyboard options for aiming would have made things easier. Annoying bug: If you have your mouse over a button and press space it both fires the object and clicks the button, which meant that when I had my mouse over the decrease/increase power buttons it would do both. Multiple attempts kept getting weaker! Overall though, the concept is still great and it was fun so you get high marks.
Nice game and concept. My main critique is that the between play phase takes a little long. I already knew what card I wanted to use next but had to wait for all the animations to finish.
Equals parts fun and frustrating, in general it feel like there's not much you can do to avoid getting hit by the bouncing enemies and firing behind you wasn't intuitive. Overall, it's still enjoyable though.
Really challenging and a little frantic, trying to jump between breakout and typing. I liked how the darker down started to creep in and I'd be interested in seeing where that would go if you'd kept going!
Neat little concept. It would be nice to have keyboard controls for the camera too but it's a tiny blemish on an otherwise cool entry. Top marks!
Thanks everyone for your comments. I'm definitely considering making a bigger release in the future probably on mobile.
@Whirlwind Yeah, I was undecided what to do with the pawns, as they can technically take pieces diagonally and it opened up the puzzle space a little more. I might revisit that decision when I come to expand the concept into a full app.
@Jupiter_Hadley Thanks for including me in the video. Looks like you picked up the mechanics pretty quickly :D
@GastricSparrow @croewens + Everyone else Thanks for the feedback
@minibobbo I start with a specific aim in mine, e.g. I want this level to involve the player taking a piece by gravity. I want this level to involve stacking... Once I have a concept in mind I then try and think how to get the pieces into that position and expand from there.
It's not obvious what many of the tools did. I got stuck for a long time with a hand full of spades, because I didn't know you were supposed to use them on an empty field.
Interesting concept, I couldn't get very far though as it speeds up fast! Need to ramp up the difficulty a little slower to allow the player to get a sense of accomplishment.
I like the visual and effects, but don't really understand what I'm doing beyond, 'get to the checkpoint'
Really cool concept. It's quite tough to juggle the positions of the numbers in your end in quick situations (in a good challenging way) :)
Awesome little game. Good choice on making the new dodgeball match the same direction as the returning ball to make it harder to score quickly.
Interesting concept. It's really a shame you can't score points yourself (even for destroying tanks). There also wasn't any hit feedback on the tanks so at first I didn't know you could even destroy them.
This is a really great idea. Fix the bugs and you're on to a winner!
Amazing idea. Add a few more mechanics / arenas to mix things up and you're on to a winner. The one I would have liked would be to click one space away to fire bullets that move one square at a time.
Love the concept and it's plays really well. Solid game.
I really wanted to like this game but it highlights the main thing I don't like about Pinball... it's almost impossible to aim. That said, it looks great and sounds great so you still get good marks :D
Really great concept and execution, not exactly sure how I die, it just seems to happen in the middle of action
Really cool little game. At some times it was hard to follow the logic and I'd have personally preferred it if it didn't update if you found a 'mine'
Not sure how the fishing part works as no matter what I do I cast just in front of me so perhaps that could be explained a bit better in game.
You get 5s in all the categories. This was awesome. The only downside was the wasn't enough tasks, it ended too soon.
Great concept. The camera was odd at first but quickly got used to it. I'll echo the other comments about a minimap. At times it got a little confused. Would be nice if turning was a little tighter too so it's nicer to get through those narrow gaps.
Love the presentation/art here. Wish the mashup went a little further than just visuals but it's still a really unique combination
Great concept, art and music. Would love to see more cards so it would keep replays fresh and I could play it more!
Really fun little concept.
I really didn't understand what you had to do. Had to go read the comments to figure that out. Sorry.
Really liked the combination. It would be nice if the shooting effected the gameplay/score a bit more (e.g. power up the football or stun the player). Either way, really fun little game :)
Really cool concept but needs a little work on the level design, too many places were the ball got stuck in the geometry
Interesting combination. You definitely need some crosshairs as the gun doesn't give an indication that you're actually aiming up/down in addition to the left/right movement of the gun. Also really annoying level design in the first level if you don't have a key, you have to retrace the entire level.
Interesting concept. Shame it's not complete. Would have been cool to seen where it would have gone.
PLEASE put the controls on the description, I didn't know you could even interact with those games at first.
Like the art style and concept, but not sure which two genres are being combined here
Interesting game, ended up getting stuck but like the concept. It would be cool to have more fun actions / rules you could use to mess with the world.
Great concept but the game didn't ramp up enough. You couldn't do much once you'd built enough towers. Also, you have to start the game before you can use the commands which makes sense, but the current error says "unknown command". It *is* an known command, you just can't use it yet.
That said, this is all minor stuff, this is definitely one of the more polished entries I've played.
Took me a while to notice the "Current Action" bit so struggled on the first screen. Once I figured it out I 'flew' through it!
Interesting game, needs to have more of a challenge though!
Beautiful game and I love the atmosphere it creates. I'm a little unsure as to what exactly eating the bugs do but loved the experience.
I like the procedural aspects of this game, in general it's really cool. It's hard to tell what the goal is at first. Due to the procedural nature of it the first few levels didn't have any falling deaths so I didn't 'get' it. It eventually clicked though
Nice shooter but I don't get the chess aspect as it's more about the graphics rather than combining the gameplay of chess.
Really like the concept. Four bots on one seemed a little harsh, particularly when they all ganged up and shot is fast across to my goal.
Really like the concept (I got so close!) but the shooting part felt almost like an afterthought, like a distraction, but the tower building was really fun.
