This was a fun game, I played it through to the end, great job! I love the inversion mechanic. If you could somehow manage to fit the UI on android/IOS it could be a fun puzzle game.

This was a fun game, I played it through to the end, great job! I love the inversion mechanic. If you could somehow manage to fit the UI on android/IOS it could be a fun puzzle game.
This is one of my favorites so far! My only criticism is that at the start I felt a little too slow, maybe if the movement speed was bit higher it would feel better.
Nice artwork! I was having a little trouble with the ladders but that could just be me being bad.
@Amir-Bayareh If you could add an invisible two way-platform at the top, that would probably do the trick. Great game otherwise.
This was a funny game, it was interesting to use both hands to play. There was a bug where the bacon went from uncooked straight to burnt for some reason. Also I picked up some raw bacon while the stove was full, I wasn't sure how to put down the raw bacon so that I could pick up the cooked bacon.
The art is very nice, but the controls felt a bit off. Also the fireball disappears too fast, it should have a long life span. Fun game though!
Yea, gotta admit the art is gorgeous.
Pretty impressive for a game made from scratch! The biggest problem in my opinion would be that the controls feel very slippery, I think there is too much momentum in the players movement. I do love the graphics though!
Graphics and sound are nice, but I was having issues with clicking on objects, sometimes I would have to mash the left click button to get it to work.
Nice work! I love the art style and best of all, I love high fiveing the villagers.
Final Score: 1 Sorry kids, there's always next Christmas. At least little Timmy gets his present.
I loved the art, it was very pretty!
A very nice and simple game. It didn't seem like I could harvest pumpkins, I think it would be a neat idea if you could pick them up and drop them off into a collection bin for points.
I remember seeing a blog post of this game and wanting to play it when it was done, its awesome I was able to find it again! It was a lot of fun and the controls were very tight. Question though, how are you supposed to deal with the skull boxes, or do they stay forever?
I really dig the art style, sort of a cut out of paper look. Also sorry for letting you down Sir Münchhausen!
Thank you for the comment, it means so much to me after spending so much time on it! yea I agree the UI doesn't match with the rest of the game and sticks out like sore thumb, but I was new to libgdx skins and I kinda left it for last minute and it came and bit me at the end. :P Lesson learned for next ludum dare though!
Thanks @jjjjason! I 100% plan on polishing this game and releasing it, maybe on android. I do like the idea of using high desync to allow you to reach further platforms. Perhaps I should find a way to be able to balance your desync allowing you to control your jump length!
Pretty fun game, though the difficulty ramp up is a bit too fast.
I loved the sound effects!
Was that not expecting that death animation haha
The dialog of the old man was great, actually laughed out loud while playing!
@matt-fabius Thanks for the feedback! I agree about the year changing being very sudden, we wanted to make the transition between years better, but ran out of time.
@pseudobytes You are getting your eggs back, which will one day hatch into your babies. The theme is supposed to be that your life(eggs) is your currency.
@vladirien A timer was very much planned, but as usual I was still adding stuff to the last minute haha.
@vrixyz Shoot, I had some logic commented out that would have fixed this but I forgot. Darn it haha.
@ultrasonicaeron It seems to happen when the property 'metallic' is used. I'll look into making an updated version that fixes this.
@kyrio Thanks for your input!
- I was worried the window would be hard to tell that it was special, we had intended to have some little icon pop up to show that it's intractable but we ran out of time.
- I wanted to avoid having UI elements, I think I added too many eggs that they don't stand out so much. There are 5 days total with a small ending based on how well you did. We didn't have much time for play testing the final product as it came together towards the end, we feel in retrospect 5 customers per day is too much
- A timer was originally planed but was scrapped due to time constraints, the rest of the game worked without a timer so I put a focus on bug squashing though I do wish I had time(pun intended) for the timer
- Haha a scythe is not lavish, we had a huge spread sheet with item properties that I would export to unity to fetch the data, there were a lot of items and properties so there are a few mistakes from miss clicks here and there. I like Utilitarian, I wasn't a huge fan of tool but the only other word that came to mind was 'useful' but that felt weird as well.
- That is correct haha, the chicken is trying to get her eggs back which the farmer sold and the eggs are the life she created. We didn't want to use the theme as a game play mechanic as we were sure a lot of games would take the theme literally, and we wanted to do something outside the box which was hard for this theme. So we tried to tie to into the story, which unfortunately needs to be read on the ludum dare page, I had no time to incorporate it into the game elegantly.
- Yea there seems to be something wrong with the word metallic that's breaking things.
- You mean proposing with a single olive is not normal? :O
@mahou I'm so happy to hear you saw the ending! We underestimated how long it would take to finish 5 days (pfft who needs play testing) and we were worried people wouldn't reach the end.
@tbaudon Interesting idea! A timer was planned originally but dropped due to time constraints, but the customer count was still going to be fixed. Having it so you go through as many people as you can in one day sounds interesting!
@jezzamon
I think most of them are allowed according to this:
"Certain Bug Fixes are allowed. You can’t add new features, but if something broke or didn’t work correctly as you were finishing up, you can fix this after the deadline. You are asked to highlight the changes you make in your submission (a short change log). You probably wont get a 2nd chance with some players, but at least it wont be a problem for future players."
The only ones I might agree with you is:
-Reduced people per day from 5 to 3 to make the game quicker
-Changed day text from Day X to Day X of 5 to help show players there is an end to the madness
-There were toooooo many eggs on the shelf, reduced max reward per customer from 2 to 1
Though they aren't new mechanics, just fixes to let people finish the game faster.
In the future I'll keep this in mind though, thanks!
@mrerdalural We ran out of time, for the end screen, I'm considering doing a quick update with just a simple black screen saying congrats to let the play know its over, but I'm worried it might be too much too add post LD.
@ferdi I plan to play a bunch this weekend, I'm just a little to tired after work during the week haha, maybe might play some during my lunch break!
Anyways thanks all for the feedback!
@benjo-games I'll need to try yours out later! I spent so long trying to get the systems in place that I left the item/recipe creation towards the last hour which was a.... mistake haha.
Love the isometric style! The animations are very nice!
Such a simple concept yet so much can be done with it. Well done!
The music is amazing!
Really fun game, though my mouse hates me now
The player animations are amazing and fluid!
This is the funniest entry I've played so far.
Oh my gosh, the graphics are amazing for a jam!
@eckkert I intended to make accurate-ish, but for a proof of concept I decided I can keep it simple and all I do is go over every planet and get the direction of the planet relative to the ship and apply a fixed force value towards that direction. I sum up all those vectors and apply it to the ships velocity. I kind of forgot to go back and make it correct haha, I lost an entire day from a scrapped idea and got excited after my proof of concept worked that it skipped my mind.
@stefan-laimer Glad you liked it! Yea all the planets have the same pull, and the pull is the same regardless of the distance, so not exactly accurate orbital mechanics haha. The comets do use the same forces as the ship and in retrospect that's probably why collisions are so common even though I made the comets pretty small as they get attracted to the same spots as the ship LOL
As others have said, could be a fun mobile game! Fits the theme well.
Very fun game, got the egg out safely, well one of them at least, we don't talk about the others.
@turquoise-moon Yep that is my cat, it was a place holder asset that sort of become permanent LOL
@mausimus That is the ending, it was rushed and last minute, wish we had time to make it more interesting and cleat that the game is over.
@chris-mcknight I wanted to make the un-fixed rooms to be weighted more for the random doors but that idea kept getting pushed back for other features and wasn't added in the end
@ryan-winstead Woah the inverted controls were not intended, that is an odd bug LOL
@marbles Unfortunately the RNG screws me over every run, something that needs to be tweaked to be better
@stefan-laimer I wanted to use middle mouse for camera orbit, but webGL outside of full screen doesn't disable page scroll for accessibility reasons. So you would hit middle mouse and the page would scroll down LOL.
The visuals are some of the best I have seen in a Ludum Dare, very cohesive and detailed. Seriously well done. Like @auusi9 mentioned I was having UI issues while in full screen. The start of the game was also a touch too slow of a pace. Overall well done!
I'm going to have to say this is probably my favorite game this Ludum Dare. Most of the time I play each game for only a few minutes but I actually put significantly more time playing this one then others. Well done guys! Loved the art.
Nice graphics! We did a similar genre combo with farming + horror.
@Team Orange Pop Yea I agree about the pace, I didn't have much time to work on the game this jam, I wish I had more time to make the AI actually a threat.
@Brendan Toy LOL I plan to make him look more scared as time goes on, and I too would have issues placing crops sometimes, especially when facing sideways. The fix was on my todo list, and I just kept forgetting about it LOL
@Mister-Kweh Ha ha yea that was an annoying thing. I think it has to be do with floating point rounding errors, so if your screen size isn't right to match your tiles sizes, the edges of other tiles will bleed into the current tile. I couldn't figure out how to fix it in time, just ways to reduce the frequency, it was much worse LOL
@Mister-Kweh I checked it out!
@Redhatto I was thinking off adding a noise mechanic at some point, for example planting potatoes will alert nearby monster to come at you. I do like the idea of monsters eating your potatoes as well, as well as the battery idea. Glad you liked the game!
@ramza This is amazing, thanks for including us! I wish I had more time to work on the game so it would actually have some form of end goal and therefore proper game play, but with only 1.5 days to work with, I was surprised with what we got in the end all things considered!
I saw this was a farming game and I was curious what you were going to combine it with, and a shooter was the last thing I expected LOL so well done with the theme.
I saw your blog post about streaming games, if you don't mind could you check ours out? We also did a farming game but we combined it with horror. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/happy-harvest
Interesting theme combination! Like Beelzeboss said, the pace of the circles is way too slow, twice as fast may work but that might be too fast as well.
I thought about making a card game for this ludum dare, but I felt overwhelmed at coming up with fun mechanics and decided otherwise, I think you guys did a great job with it! I loved the random sound clips that would play with some of the cards as well!
