LD39 — Running out of Power

Night Shift by galacticglum 2017-08-09T03:12:27Z

Your game is challenging and has some atmosphere to it with the dim light. It really would benefit from sounds and a more consistent graphic design. The 2D sprites inside the 3D frame feel a bit flat (I know, great description :D ).

I definitely see potential, right now it's a bit like an unpolished diamond.

Space Tanker by wasea 2017-08-09T03:23:00Z

I love the art style and the mechanics are nice. Some more game elements would be great, maybe let the tanker collide with the asteroids? I was kind of surprised it didn't kill me when I flew over one for the first time. :D

Controls relative to the world felt very intuitive for me.

PowerMan by C0nst4ntin 2017-08-09T13:54:46Z

This was fun to play! I really liked the tutorial (despite telling me nothing about the R key). One thing you could improve is changing the level design in a way the player has to use his abilities. I had to use my jetpack only once and never shot an enemy.

Cooles Spiel, ich hoffe du bist nächstes Mal wieder dabei! Falls du Lust hast die Menschheit zu vernichten würde ich mich freuen, wenn du unser Spiel auch ausprobierst. :)

Light-Eater by prettylucky 2017-08-01T16:31:55Z

I tried to play because your idea is fascinating but it crashes right after scribbling out the first light.

Say Hello by Pedrowzee 2017-08-02T00:30:57Z

It took me a while to understand what I have to do but now I really like your game. The art style is amazing, keep it up! :)

Plug Me by hav24 2017-08-09T02:29:47Z

This looks like a few weeks of work and you did it in one weekend. Congratulaions! I really love the animation at the end of the level. It's simple but somehow positive.

Lights Out by Emery 2017-08-09T03:03:40Z

The basic idea is not really revolutionary but I like how it gets darker when you're going to lose. Like many others already wrote the background is phenomenal, this really earned you 5 stars in the humor category. :D

What bothered me the most is the camera. It is hardly possible to see anything below you, so I stayed on the ground most of the time and I didn't have the feeling I knew the positions of only half of the batteries because they often spawned out of sight.

Maybe you can show the player the whole height and only scroll sideways?

In conclusion: I had fun playing your game and I'm already looking forward to your next entry. Congrats!

B1NMAN_ROFP by davideperozzi 2017-08-09T03:31:49Z

Great art style! The only thing I'm missing apart from the music would be a walk and jump animation. The leaning sideways walk looks a bit weird in my opinion.

One of the better entries for me! :)

The Light City of Karola by davidcollado 2017-08-01T16:25:46Z

I really loved to play your game! The art and theme are awesome and the sounds really added to the mood. The only thing that confused me in the beginning is jumping with "z". I have a german keyboard layout and I have to press "y".

I'd love to see new levels in the future!

Extincti by FooMar 2017-08-01T20:56:31Z

@prettylucky Thanks for your feedback! I love the idea with the little people, maybe we'll add that in a future release.

About your question: We represented the position of all objects as an angle and offset relative to the earth's center to avoid errors with trigonometry.

Zzap by HS_Dave 2017-08-09T13:38:08Z

I liked your game a lot! The corruption tiles are a nice idea, they got me the first time. :D

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Snaketris by Yngvarr 2017-12-05T16:49:07Z

Really great idea! We had lots of fun playing this. The only thing that felt a bit unfair is when blocks float in the air near one of the spawns after colliding with the snake.

Grammar Dystopia by Xarras 2017-12-05T17:07:58Z

Pep best gapo I played so far! Pep tipo I laughed lla

Ascension by Roberto Romao 2017-12-05T15:34:44Z

I definitely had fun playing your game! The atmosphere is great and the music fits perfectly. A few things I noticed: - I like the small text messages in the upper box but I felt like I don't have that much time to read them. - Some of the buttons are placed in a way that when you smash them you decide for the second option as soon as a decision is coming up - Options like "lose half of your legions" motivate to have few of them

Overall a nice entry, thumbs up!

FIT_IN by cachodragon 2017-12-05T16:27:52Z

Great one! Feels a bit like Tetris and causes the same stress when time moves on. I like the simple and clear graphics and the shapes and colors are a good choice. I would really like to know what happens when you unlock all shapes but I can't make it that far...

3x3 a tale about friendship by oskarOlausson 2018-08-14T19:44:45Z

I love puzzle games and yours is no exception. I needed a few rounds to understand what each tile does and how to use them properly but then it was very enjoyable. The only thing I did not like that much is how dependent you are on randomness because there are positiont where it's quite hard to get out of.

Good job on your game!

TINY TOWNS by BearishMushroom 2018-08-14T11:56:30Z

This is one of the best game jam entries I have played. Some of the puzzles are really hard and I loved solving them. Your art and audio fits the game perfectly and like others said before me it feels like a finished product in many aspects.

But since we all want to know what could have been better here are some things I noticed: - A reset level button would have been nice. - I spend quite some time trying to reset the perspective after misclicking on the rotation button because I couldn't stand the jagged lines after rotating. Maybe a rotation in some predefined steps would have been enough for the case. - I would have liked different sounds for placing "positive" and "negative" buildings. - The levels don't always feel like being sorted for difficulty.

In my opinion besides being really good at this point, your game has still potential to become even better (more building types, more levels, etc). If you ever release this as a mobile game @ me here!

AL - A Choose Your Own Adventure by starvingindie 2018-08-14T16:36:45Z

This is one hell of a good looking visual novel! I really liked your humorous take on cleaning up the house, feels just like the real thing. Somehow I didn't manage to not find the key and leave the house in three playthroughs.

Pervertica - CCG by mitus 2018-08-14T15:00:07Z

Wow! You don't see polished artwork like that very often in a game jam. I'm really impressed. The gameplay is also fun but too hard for me when it comes to the letters.

LectureRush by FooMar 2018-08-14T15:57:31Z

@monyandere Thanks for your feedback and your encouragement on your game. Ours doesn't have a special prize for winning though

LectureRush by FooMar 2018-08-14T19:08:18Z

@loonydrope Thank you for the feedback! Yes we used Godot 2. Since not everyone had hardware with OpenGL 3.3 support we couldn't use the newer one.

LectureRush by FooMar 2018-08-19T00:13:37Z

@mike-inprinciple Thanks so much for your honest feedback, appreciate it a lot! I actually had to laugh out loud at your comment because we made a game about balancing plates at LD40 and I was very confused at first.

Balls Deep In Lava by BlueMirror 2018-08-14T17:04:11Z

You might have created my new all time favourite gun sounds.

Hello Ground by Kaiomoi 2018-08-14T16:58:18Z

Ahhh! Woooh! What’s happening? Who am I? Why am I here? What’s my purpose in life? What do I mean by who am I? :whale2:

Verdurous Harmony by Buddaccio 2018-08-14T11:17:41Z

This looks surprisingly polished for a game jam entry. Nice work on the graphics! I like your restricted area mechanic a lot, had some stressful moments. The only thing that bugged me a bit is that there are times where it feels a bit unfair, especially when I am teleported into the restricted area and there are already a lot of bullets in there.

Grimder by CraigDuth 2018-08-14T15:31:25Z

This is really funny! I laughed out loud a few times when I read the death cause or just listened to your audio. The graphics are really clean and nice to look at. Nice one!

P.S. you should really edit your entry to show that there is a Windows version. I found it more or less by accident and almost would have never played it :)

Tale of the Bagger: A Love Story by trozen 2018-08-14T15:47:42Z

I loved almost everything about that. The audio in the background is funny as hell. The game is challenging but not unfair (gave up after level 11) and the art fits the case. There is only one thing I found a bit inconsistent: The bad bags are counted across levels but after losing you have a fresh start at the current level. For me that meant that in later levels I would lose on purpose first.

Overall a really nice job!

Bus Mayhem by artbohr 2018-08-14T15:09:11Z

Most realistic simulator I played so far. Perfect 7/5.

Dessert War by Krapht 2018-08-14T12:22:51Z

The tactical decisions in your game go deeper than I initially thought. We had fun battling it out - for the cookies of course, they're waaaayy better! I liked the art style, it's really cute and fits the cupcake vs cookies theme. The only thing I'm not quite sure about is the balancing, it feels like the beginning player has too much of an advantage.

Crumble by anstabo 2018-08-14T17:22:11Z

Awesome game! Thanks to the music it's at the same time relaxed and enraging :D I didn't make it past 0:30 but with a few more minutes it should be very possible. I couldn't spend them though because I was too distracted by trying to jump through the red thing on the left and right just at the start. Is it possible?

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Exploding Sport by jk5000 2018-12-04T15:44:17Z

This is one of these games I would have played for hours with my brother back when we lived with our parents. Great entry! I delete most of the ldjam games after a few weeks but this one is a keeper!

Good Intentions by gogo199432 2018-12-04T17:58:21Z

Did you ever consider selling this to psychology students? All of the levels were really funny, nice job!

For Lucifer by Rasmus Clausen 2018-12-04T18:10:21Z

To me it feels more like a concept than a finished game because there is no real gameplay or the possibility to win or lose. But the story is original and interesting and your graphics look really nice so for me it's still a great entry. Keep it up!

Nezohuaya by adamdabrowski 2018-12-04T17:18:58Z

We tried to play with two Xbox One and one Xbox 360 controller (all wired) and only one player could use the triggers. The other two players were only able to move and turn. What I saw of the game looks really nice though.

Nezohuaya by adamdabrowski 2018-12-04T18:28:48Z

@rektorgladowski Thanks for your quick help. Yes you're right we did

Plugging them in after launching the game resolved the issue, everything is working as expected now. We are on Windows 10. I will update my rating to include the missing categories as soon as we played a few rounds!

(P.S. As a special thank you i will give you an exclusive tip for our game: Try burning the forest after the tutorial. Pssssst.... )

Stolen Soul by Marcial 2018-12-04T17:35:59Z

For the gameplay this is a pretty standard jump-n-run, but hell it looks nice. Music and art style create a really dense atmosphere. I would come back to this for more levels!

Canyon Gods by PierKwadrat 2018-12-04T16:13:57Z

This looks incredible! I managed to win at my second try so it feels reasonably hard. I don't really like the click to defend mechanic, it feels to distracting to me. But other than that, this was great!

Wicked Kinders by Humpert764 2018-12-04T16:51:30Z

I could say the humor is too dark for me but that would be a lie. Santa dancing in the chimney is hilarious. The gameplay is a bit repetitious but the great sounds keep it interesting through the whole game. Overall it's a 4/5 for me

edit: I would recommend you to stop bluting! (Love that line. Keep hinzufüging those.)

Impossible Circle : Make it 14 by Chinmay Yagnik 2018-12-04T15:55:42Z

I like how minimalistic and challenging this is. The music fits perfectly and creates a nice mood. There are only two things that bothered me: I would have loved to play on after 14 and the reset with space felt unintuitive. I tried clicking the mouse button to restart after nearly every round.

All in all really nice entry!
