Hey very cool mechanics, I'd like to think of later version of this game.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD39 → Space Tanker

Hey very cool mechanics, I'd like to think of later version of this game.
Loved the idea, but it would be nice to make the game little bit longer with some extra mechanics. Also, I never have won the game :) Is it possible?
Nice little game, but the controls took some getting used to!
It's fun but a little hard. I can't seem to find the right solution to keep earth alive. Nice take on the theme, I liked the mechanics but the difficulty needs a bit of fine tuning. Good work
I don't think the controls are confusing at all, it plays just fine! The only thing, it took some time for me to understand that I didn't need to press anything to collect the water.
Flying around was really fun! It reminded me of controlling the rockets in 'Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime.'
Um, I'm not sure if I just suck (lol), but I couldn't keep my planet alive for more than about 30 seconds T.T I'd fill up on the nearest satellite and then dump it on Earth, but it kept going down way faster than I could keep up with. Am I missing something?
Not sure if this is just me, or that suckers on the Earth are using water to fast? :D Controls are pretty intuitive.
Controls should be changed relative to ship. It's very hard to control it now. Physics looks pretty.
Nice!
Nice little game. It took some time to understand the controls :)
My dear planet Earth, I have failed you!
Actually, I didn't have any problems with controls. More problematic was the fact that people probably were pumping all given water underground or the planet was somehow cracked :D The rate of water usage was a bit too high imho.
Anyway, really solid entry. Good job!
Way too dificult too quickly. You should always consider yourself as the greatest player of all time of your own game. So the thing you would call easy -> call it hard for player ;)
The core gameplay, art, and music are good, so I am wanting to play longer and to deal with new objects! Yea, it's better to make small, but fun game than boring, so good job! It was unclear to me where I need to find the water at the first time - I tried to hit and to burn comets by my engine (it looks like I need to protect the planet from comets), then I tried to fly away and research all territory. And then, I have noticed that I have some water points. Hm. Then I looked your video and finally got the idea. So, the video really helps me.
Nice game! I like the graphics and the simple style. It would be more exciting if it had more objects which could be placed randomly, so every round would be a new challenge for the player. It would be also nice to see what score the player has achieved (how long the earth survived for example)
Fun game, too bad I let earth down every time i played it! It was very (maybe a little bit too) difficult to hold up with the water supply.
Great entry anyway!
Pretty neat idea. I really liked the audio and graphics!
The game has good graphics and music
But it seems like game mechanics and balance could be improved.
As for me (and I'm complete noob in space ship control) the earth looses water too fast, I just get to the nearest planet and came back when it lost almost all of it water
I love the art style and the mechanics are nice. Some more game elements would be great, maybe let the tanker collide with the asteroids? I was kind of surprised it didn't kill me when I flew over one for the first time. :D
Controls relative to the world felt very intuitive for me.
Nice spin on the theme, like that you collect water, really liked that earth graphic visibly loses water. But it loses water too quickly.
As others said, I think the rate of the water being lost on the planet happens too quickly. Gameplay seems to last for about ten seconds, no more than 20-30 if you can maneuver that rocket with precision. The rate at which water is being lost increasing, however, does make for a good challenge, but it definitely needs to happen more gradually.
While planets fill the water tank much faster than the nearby satellites, it didn't seem as though there was a lot of strategy or progression for the player that would make the speed of diminishing water feasible. It would be interesting to have some resources only giving you a certain amount of water, maybe, or a certain amount of fuel. Maybe have some resources with differing cooldown times, where you can't use that resource for a given period.
I really like the music; the chords really suit the being lost in space sort of feeling. Maneuvering the rocket was fine. It was hard to master, but not frustrating. Some additional sound effects for water collection would be nice as well. I couldn't tell if you had them in there, but if you do, they should be louder or something to make it more obvious that it's there.
Overall, you all did a fine job.
