This was fun! Got to level 9 :)
Loved:
1. The spinning customers in the background! :) 2. The random WEAPONS and suspicious items that i had to bag :) 3. The overall game design was very thoughtful, i could be creative and still be setup to succeed. 4. I liked the highlights of the bag showing if it would fail or not. 5. Loved the general concept :)
Thing that might make it better;
1. The inside ambience was really loud - The frequency range of the content muddled up the game mix and some neat little sound design. 2. The conveyor belt might have gone faster in spots, i felt like I was waiting for it in places :) 3. The help screen didn't really help me, but the in game tips were SUPER helpful :)
Great job!
Got to Level 10, it really ramps up after that. Love the groovy music and the PA going off in the background, fits the theme of the game really well. Great to see so many item variations and the combinations they had, really made it a lot of fun. Well done!

Lovely little game. I liked the idea and the graphics.
At some point, a cashier in the background started spinning like crazy. I don't know if it's a bug, but it was really funny :D
Well done.
A great game with a lot of nice details! Really impressed with how well the puzzle mechanics work. The atmosphere is really well done. The game start getting hard quickly after level 8/9, but this is not necessarily a bad thing.
I was playing with the headphones and it really seems to be inside a supermarket haha :D! The art was great and the concept is fun. Just to say something I Would set faster the conveyor in the middle levels. But well done. You have a made a very fun game, congrats!

Overall the game was fun. Controls work really well especially when using a touchscreen. The ability to move between bags is a nice touch and increases the variety in playing methods. The gradual introduction to mechanics is nice. The ambient noise was surprisingly accurate to a normal supermarket and fit really well with the overall style you've gone for.
The difficulty curve after the last few kind of tutorials levels threw me off a bit and forces you to jump up your speed fairly quickly though. Perhaps toning down the initial difficulty jump after all the mechanics have been introduced could reduce this.

This was really fun! I enjoyed the challenge a lot. I got all the way to level 12 on my first try :) I wish you had fewer lives, but that they reset at each level, rather than just the four for the entire game. Perhaps that would remove too much of the challenge though?
Very surprised by the amount of depth in the game! You did a very good job! I noticed the guy spinning in the background, I wish I could walk like that XD It was very well made, gets very stressful as you go through the levels, in a good way :P
Really slick, easy to play, and this great feeling like "I WANNA IMPROVE" :)
Thanks so much for the wonderful feedback everyone!

Awesome little game. It feels well polished. Great graphic and sound effect. Good overall. One of the most polish game I've played so far in the Jam.
Absoulutly fantastic everything. Biggest critique for me is that failure should have more informative feedback
It's really nice that it slowly introduces the various rules so you can ease into them.
Great graphics!! I like how each rule builds on the others, but I can see that I am not cut out to be a bagger :shopping_bags:
I really liked this game, the audio was great! It was like I was a real bagger out there haha!

Love your take on marrying the theme with a supermarket (my entry was also a supermarket game!) great game! Well polished, depth of content is great for a jam entry. Overall, very impressive!

I like this a lot, is simple and has a nice complexity curve. You should keep working on this great job!

All aspects of the game are really well done. Good job!
Really well polished I played for about 10 or so levels, was hoping for some story elements the titled hinted at. Thea surprising amount of mechanics helped boost the game to that next level. Overall great work!

I only made it to level 7, but this is amazing! Very polished! Pro-quality graphics, great sounds, even animated people in the background! And last but not least, a fun puzzle mechanic that matches the theme and well-designed levels. Do you make games for a living?

You guys nailed all aspects on this one. Its a neat skin on what is a souped-up towers on hanoi and I think it works really really well. The mood and humor is on point, and all the different types of rules make sense and combine in interesting ways. Great work.
Humor/audio/mood were all spot on! Funny stuff with the voice over in the background.

I liked: - the background music / supermarket announcements / graphics in general - the packable items were fun, the little icons next to them made the game easily playable - the idea was original and the game is very enjoyable
Ideas: - once something is in the bag you can't change it -> makes the game harder - (I realised at level 11 that I can pack my icecream with bleach :D that confused me)

So much time spend on Newgrounds and your game is just fit for it. Pretty addictive and fun ! That intro music makes me feel in so much good mood for play this game. Good job team keep it up !
That is a good game! I like how you introduce new features one by one!

I loved almost everything about that. The audio in the background is funny as hell. The game is challenging but not unfair (gave up after level 11) and the art fits the case. There is only one thing I found a bit inconsistent: The bad bags are counted across levels but after losing you have a fresh start at the current level. For me that meant that in later levels I would lose on purpose first.
Overall a really nice job!

The supermarket's ambience was a really nice touch
2018-08-14 17:08
The game is somewhat broken with the player getting all illicit items for the 1st 6 sometimes, making it impossible to not lose a life. The item being dragged should also be prevented from being thrown away.
Thanks for the feedback! I agree, some of the levels are unbeatable. We wanted to do curated item lists per level but resorted to random generation due to time crunch.

Got to level 12 but then started losing myself in all the different combinations! It was a really good game, and one of the few games I replied after I died! I did like the music and announcements, but I would've liked a way to turn it off, or at least lower it a little. I found the bagging items to be very amusing as well, good work

Hilarious! It's a little bit concerning, seeing what people are buying... why do you need two concrete blocks and a few bags of good stuff? Graphics were very impressive. Props.

I remember seeing this randomly on twitter during the weekend, glad I was able to find it. I really enjoyed it, started off thinking it was going to be simple. Boy, was I wrong :D Has a lot more depth than I first thought. Big fan of the art style too.

hey @trozen Sorry I cant remember how I seen it on twitter.
Wow. This is one awesome entry for a game jam. The game was so polish and so well thought out. I'm impressed.
I love the way you add rules per levels to increase difficulty. I think the complex items with more than one category is a way bigger step than any other. I always lose there.
The supermarket mood was achieve perfectly, the audio, sound effects, graphics. Just perfect. Then the rules where super clear and they made a lot pf sense.
A nitpick would be that the us of the jam theme is not clear at first, just when the harder levels start. And also the steep in difficulty with the complex items.
One of the best games of the jam, for sure.

Incredibly fun! Loved that that the bag turns red when you're about to make a mistake, and the level select feature. The music and sound effects were really nice, and the graphics are so crisp and pretty.
I loled when I saw the customer flipping in the background. Great game. Gave you straight 5s.
@sebastian-m @jerripo Thanks so much for the feedback. We really appreciate it!

Very well done, team! This is so polished, I would suggest you just put it onto an app store for mobile as-is. Very good job on the graphics, the sound design, it's funny, and programming-wise feels very smooth. Well done!
Had a lot of fun playing this one. The difficulty curve in the game is nicely done, adding on a new element each level. Having to manage the items into the bag from the conveyor was a great challenge, and I goofed up a few times, but felt I was able to get the hang of it quickly. A good challenge, not too difficult, and not too easy, hit that sweet spot.
Graphics are great, and the inclusion of little things going on in the background gave it some good humor as well. Audio was nicely done, from the very fitting music, to the announcements over the PA system.
Also, that bonus level lol.
Here is a video of the play through from the stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/297562912
Great job! I had fun on this game. The gameplay is well done. It also works with a mouse, but it's more difficult that playing on a touchscreen. Thank you for this game! Have a look at our game too if you have time ;)
@udo @manbeardgames @alex-brull Thanks so much for the feedback everyone! Really glad you guys enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed making it!
Might be the best entry for this jam I've seen so far, well polished and a good learning curve. Great job

Nice! Well done, fluid and with fun background noises to boot. And to top it all a well made tutorial! Congratulations, this is very well polished.
Loved it! I like the random backgrounds, the graphics and sound were awesome! Solid entry!
interesting concept! I really liked your take on the theme. The gameplay is simple but fun. Loved the art style too

Awesome feedback! Thanks to everyone.
Super good game, I'm so glad you added a UI mechanic to show when the bags weren't compatible cuz I certainly started to lose it when you did double combinations. I'd love to have seen your brainstorming session or design docs cuz you kept surprising me every step of the way, especially when the illicit weapons came out lol. Not only did you fit the theme perfectly but you made a truly fun and frantic game, I'm very impressed.
@peachtreeoath We really had a lot of fun coming up with the items and the combinations! The UI mechanic for the bags was a late addition, we are definitely happy we added it too. I think the game would be way too hard without it. Thanks for the feedback, we really appreciate it!
cool game!
