LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Mallio Cart by Ava Skoog 2017-12-06T10:23:29Z

So glad I finally got to have a shot at this after seeing you post about it on twitter throughout the jam! The thief mechanic was hilarious! Though they were pretty easy to avoid. Aesthetically, the game was cohesive and comfy! Having the non-interactable crosshair at all times was a bit annoying because it takes up so much screen real-estate. Having the other customers stop to chat with one another was a really awesome addition to selling the space (or maybe it was my imagination and they had just collided with each other?) Congratulations on finishing on time! Love it!

Holiday Parking Panic! by FormalCloud 2017-12-06T11:47:42Z

Glad I finally found the time to give it a shot! I was in fits of laughter when other cars would slam into the parked cars in the lot. The goal wasn't 100% clear, after picking up all the presents I could see what was I mean to do next? Aesthetically, this game was really consistent and felt like a believable christmas-y space. Great work!

A Platformer for Ants by Elendow 2017-12-05T10:22:40Z

Glad I got a chance to play the finished prototype! Ever since I saw it on twitter I was in love with the idea. Great work! totally delievered on the experience I was expecting! Congratulations!

Bit Swapper by Galan 2017-12-05T04:09:32Z

This was really really cool! The mechanic was really interesting, I was always thinking about whether to reclaim my bits or not. The game's framerate started to tank after about 5 minutes and the waves of enemies became pretty repetitive. This was really enjoyable to play, thank you for making it!

Air Pressure by zgragselus 2017-12-05T05:53:22Z

Still, love that night/day globe effect! I couldn't figure out after having few airports to manage. Where to see what the current flight plans were for the planes. Also, what were my upgrades doing? It's really beautiful to just sit there and watch all the planes fly around the globe. It felt very aline. Great work! An excellent achievement in the time given!

Tap me, darling by supr 2017-12-06T11:06:21Z

Woah! some of that writing was brutal! It took a while to get onto my phone to play. It's a shame it was so short! So many emojis! I think this would have done just as well in a web build too! Congratulations on finishing another LD!

Boiler Room Defense by cerno-b 2017-12-06T10:36:42Z

After seeing you post about it on twitter over the weekend it's really cool to get to play the final product! Having the arena fill in based on how much you shoot is a fantastic innovation and you should be super proud of how it turned out! I can't believe the high scores everyone is much better and me! Congratulations on finishing anthter LD!

Grammar Dystopia by Xarras 2017-12-06T15:52:24Z

This was really fun! I loved the face animations the tracking was great! Deciphering the text was a really satisfying game loop. Congratulations on finishing the LD!

Gas or Pass by Kobi Hawk 2017-12-05T03:43:27Z

Reminds me a lot of race the sun. A great effort in ~40 is hours! It wasn't obvious to me that the yellow cylinders were fuel until I started running into things to see what they did. Perhaps, in future try to get an effect or show the player what is friend or foe. Especially with primitives! The distance bar on the right was awesome, it gave me a great idea of how far ahead I had progressed.

Needy Greedy Pirates by witylernn 2017-12-05T05:44:43Z

This was really fun! I couldn't help but laugh when the other pirates come in see you're on the other side of the screen, then proceed to steal loot. It was hard to tell if my sword was doing damage, so I tended to prefer the pistol. The aesthetic was consistent and meshed well with the games core loop. Great work!

Speed Demon by Incredible Ape 2017-12-05T03:52:26Z

This was really fun. The quick play sessions make it really easy to learn the game's mechanics without feeling overly punished. The four-lane control scheme was a tough one to wrangle. Rewiring my mental map of the keys for what is left and right was surprisingly tough! The aesthetic is cohesive and look beautiful. (I love that enemy death animation into the pentagram)

Food Fight by PonchoGuy 2017-12-05T10:06:31Z

I really liked the damage effects on the food after the had taken a few hits! Was it a separate mesh or another system altogether? Curious as to the design decision to adopt tap to fire rather than hold to fire? It gets tiresome on the finger quick! It also allowed you to shoot as fast as you like. Intentional? The environment and food models were good, it is truely terrifying to have the food slower surround you! Congratulations on completing LD!

The Terry Pebble Show - An Awful Day Time TV Simulator by Poffle 2017-12-06T12:03:26Z

Wow! this was loads of fun! Excellent work! the voice acting and writing was awesome! thanks for making this!

Sheep without Shepherd by navot 2017-12-06T16:25:42Z

Really interesting interpretation of the theme! I became so frustrated with the sheep while really impressed with the flock AI systems! At first, I thought they were just moving away from me. However, it's clear they do get guided by you! It took me a while to get a handle on it! Congratulations on finishing the Compo!

Somni by Timestop 2017-12-06T07:41:39Z

The game got stuck on the sobbing screen for me. After it faded to black I sat there waiting for about a minute but nothing progressed. The art was beautiful, the celestial goddesses definitely felt out of this world 'cute'. I didn't quite understand what the candies meant. Was it favor with that particular goddess? The dialogue was interesting and tied well to sound. Great work finishing another LD!

KITTEN SITTER by sadsmile 2017-12-06T11:01:12Z

Interesting take on the theme. It definitely became worse the more kittens I had. managing that was a nightmare! It was hard to know when I had food 'selected' from the fridge. an icon or food sprite attached to my mouse would have helped clear that up! I noticed if you don't hit ok on the notification box you don't get the kitten! This game was very meditative. Congratulations on finishing an LD!

The Floor is Lava by BinarySpark 2017-12-06T16:03:59Z

The use of resources is balanced very well. I always felt like I couldn't spam shooting in order to slow my fall or destroy every bomb. The destruction was quite fun in of itself, it reminded me of an old flash game called Motherlode! The score ticker also felt great!

I wonder if I had a younger sister by fangzhangmnm 2017-12-06T07:30:21Z

Great work with the difficulty curve! I felt a growing sense of challenge as the game progressed without too much frustration. Interesting choice using Umaru-chan as inspiration. The dialogue jumping in during the middle of boss attack patterns was a bit jarring considering I was focused on avoiding that incoming sword or bullets! The juice for when you take damage was great, shacking the screen + white damage on the bar + healthbar animation was really a great way to let the player know they took damage.

Mini Mod by Riker Greenslade 2017-12-06T10:12:40Z

The integration of musical stings for combat was excellent! The dashing and attacking was really fun and the SFX made it quite rewarding to execute! There was a lot of dropping down in the level design, which wasn't really facilitated well by the camera. 90% of my damage came from either falling on top of enemies or jumping over a gap into a bullet. While I could sometime hit the bullet before it did damage, you down have a downwards attack to use when an enemy appears below. The use of the theme for picking your perks and tools before the game starts to scale the speed of the game was great! I played a few times because it was so enjoyable! Awesome work team!

Greedy Robot Fight by rodel77 2017-12-05T08:37:31Z

I had fun! The increasing actions per turn are interesting, but I feel it removes your ability to balance around race conditions. Similar to what @squatch mentioned. Some additional reason to spend actions rather than just move shoot would improve the tactical options provided to the player. The interface for navigation and making actions was brilliant and very intuitive. Congratulations on a successful LD!

Goonisher by aaforcebox 2017-12-06T09:43:33Z

The core loop of dashing through enemies was really satisfying! Though like @arly mentioned, it appeared that enemies didn't hurt me? The tank controls were a little annoying, the rotation speed was a little high so it was hard to aim myself with the given control scheme. Having all the gems you collect follow/hover around you was awesome and visually clued the player into how much they had collected.

Kittie Reaper: A Depressed Cat Tale by jfraser314 2017-12-06T00:03:59Z

Woah! Those animals are really throwing themselves in front of you! An interesting take on a hide/seek style game. Fits the theme pretty well! Congratulations on finishing an LD!

Hotel Nero by Nightfall 2017-12-05T08:12:09Z

Whoa! That intro blew me away from a jam project! The music fits the aesthetic perfectly, the idea of planning your route because you move slower with more people is always a tight game loop. The doorways were a bit glitchy to get through. Perhaps, in the future, place some clip colliders to help guide the player through the door. The sound and glow of the fire were great. I bet there was a discussion on how to efficiently do the particles! Excellent work team! Hope to see you around next Jam.

Double-Edged Arena by Charlotte Fries 2017-12-06T11:15:01Z

An interesting take on the theme. The first few waves I accidentally didn't take an item and started the next wave. Perhaps it would have made more sense to start the next wave after the player chooses one or the other. That way the player can't min-max the best gear? The game asked for a controller but the A button didn't appear to work on the controller required screen? I had to click the A button. Worked fine after that. An attack animation would have gone a long way to get some movement on the screen with the bonus of showing exactly how far I can attack. I really enjoyed the negative effects of the equipment. I had to stop and read to make my decisions. Congratulations!

My Greedy Dog Steve by Honest Dan 2017-12-06T16:13:47Z

Making choices about debuffs is always more satisfying than choosing buffs. The idea of needing to collect even more food was pretty brutal. Having a full swing attack animation would have gone really far to help illustrate the actual distance I could swing. Congratulations on finishing an LD!

Mine Games by danman113 2017-12-06T07:15:45Z

This was a really great way to interpret the theme! The mechanics are immediately intuitive, while still leaving room for mastery. Not having the ability to bounce the mines of the angled corners was a little frustrating. After suggesting that you can bounce them off walls it was a shame when they just reversed direction. An indication of how many rounds are left would be a welcomed addition. Timing the launch of a mine with the right amount of force to land right under and enemies feet was incredibly satisfying!

Just Another Day by DraperDanMan 2017-12-05T05:06:47Z

@dcolgan Ah that's great that you liked the atmosphere! It's frustrating that the bug made it through in the last bug pass. :'(

Just Another Day by DraperDanMan 2017-12-05T23:57:56Z

@mr-matt Thanks! Weird it should have been in mode Locked! Must have left the Re-lock OnFocus commented out!

@PonchoGuy That's actually great! Thanks for playing!

Just Another Day by DraperDanMan 2017-12-06T16:18:42Z

@navot You helped them make napalm? we will have to bring this to the attention of management! Thanks for playing! Yeah, we ran out of time to write more dialogue! :( I'm glad you like the little details!

Just Another Day by DraperDanMan 2017-12-06T16:51:27Z

Haha @novot tanks so much for playing! <3

Just Another Day by DraperDanMan 2017-12-07T00:00:07Z

Thanks, @indie-gaming ! it was really fun to watch someone play!

Yeah, @mambojambo we ran out of time to write more dialogue. Surprisingly what is there took a solid 12 hours >.>

Just Another Day by DraperDanMan 2017-12-26T02:39:44Z

Woah. Thanks, @noble-robot !

C.Y.B.E.R.R.A.C.E. by Mehozavr 2017-12-05T06:01:27Z

The aesthetic was brilliant. Having the white on black lets the chromatic aberration add rather than subtract. The map didn't appear to have enough balls to make me or my friend explode? I'm glad I had someone to play with. It doesn't look like this would be very fun without other players! Well done on completing the jam!

Switch Zing WIP by Sharks 2017-12-06T00:35:08Z

Link doesn't work. Is it published?

Herding Cats: The 400th South Winchester Jr. Semi-Finals with Fiona Pennywhistle by Cercle 2017-12-06T10:52:52Z

Woah! This was a great puzzle game! The humor at the start made me chuckle and that was some pretty good writing/voice acting! The simple rules of the game made for some very interesting puzzles! The first level had me stumped for a good minute until I learned that you could interrupt moves with a new one. It would have been nice to have a visual hin on the blue and red cats in their diamond in which directions were flipped. Eg. arrows on the top and bottom or on the left and right to help aid in remembering which color was which. The puzzle designs were really great, whenever you achieved the goal ahead of par it felt so rewarding. Congratulations on finishing the LD!

Fan Favourite by erd0s 2017-12-06T11:22:49Z

This had me in fits of laughter! Which made it even harder to press the note. I wish there were more songs and that it did actually use all 4 band members. But perhaps that was what you were going for. The sound could have used a little work, The song sounded great, but there were no effects for the crowd, or when a band member gets ganked. Congratulations on having something to submit for LD!

Buried by Books by PaperbackGorilla 2017-12-05T04:28:35Z

Great! I thought I had too many books in real life, now I have too many in a video game! I really liked the way the room changes to fit in all your new books. The bookmark/checkpoint system was a brilliant metaphor! Having books fall from above off screen was a little frustrating. You could never see them ahead of time, plus they were so fast I couldn't reaction dodge. Luckily they don't respawn! The book internal monologue was surprisingly engaging. Thank you for this making this!

Sally's Dark Adventure by Nia 2017-12-06T09:01:40Z

Please, no mum! I only do it to fit in with the other kids. Nice short little experience. I liked the humor that was added on top of what presented as a scary game. (Oh and it's thoroughly terrifying, to think this could happen to any child)The boss fight was a bit buggy for me, the mother just kept running into me not attacking. Though I think if she was attacking I would have been doomed!

Crowd Control by PolyHatSteve 2017-12-05T06:29:45Z

woah this is hard! Fits the theme very well, it definitely got worse the more people that showed up!Those damn trolls made it quite the challenge! I love the fact that it's a one scene game! The animations on the people did a great job of giving the spheres personality. Great work finishing LDJam! <3 Screenshake!

Mortal Komba by kokirisandfriends 2017-12-06T16:36:03Z

This is so aesthetically comfy! I really like how difficult the game became to manage when new characters came in to jump! I kept wanting to play 1 more game! I had to force myself to stop! An amazing effort to get done within the timeframe! Congratulations!

DUTAZEM by SiCzech 2017-12-06T09:08:14Z

I wasn't able to find the end. The map didn't really convey any information to my starting or current location. After a bumpy ride, I ended up flipping and getting stuck upside down looking under the map. The atmosphere this game creates is wonderful! the sound of the whistling wind, the sliding on the snow, the storms fog. A recipe for immersion for sure! Shame that I wasn't able to see more! Congratulations on finishing the LD!

Oh no! Zombies! by Benjamin San Souci 2017-12-05T08:55:06Z

An interesting premise. I enjoyed that the sheer amount of guns, hotkeys, and achievements made it nearly unplayable. Great satire. It took me a while to figure out the up arrow was asking for me to hold the shift key. The art could have used a little more movement. A second frame can add a whole lot of character to a sprite. The variety of enemies and weapons was great. Congratulations on finishing an LD!

LD42 — Running out of space

ExplodyOS - Defeat the Virus by Ltven0mI 2018-08-15T10:48:12Z

Really solid jam game! Great mood and narrative space. Hoping you spend a little more time to polish and finish it up over the coming weeks!

Scale Escape by Evan Polekoff 2018-08-15T04:20:13Z

Very interesting, I found the movement controls very cumbersome, jumping felt rather hard, (trying to get onto the chair frustrated me to no end! kept hitting my head) and I don't think i moved forward correctly towards my crosshair. I got the key at then end but i think it disappeared into the wall while i was trying to unlock the door. Other than that, a really cool concept and a great ode to lewis carroll. Looking forward to seeing what you do in the future!

BLOCKADE by PixelJerry 2018-08-15T13:38:22Z

OMG this is brilliant! I never really felt like I was 'running out of space' but that doesn't matter you found an awesome mechanic off that top of that theme. I actually just spend the last 30 minutes entranced in gameplay. Improvements could be made on the audio side, probably should have opted out of Audio seeing that you're using kevin Macleod music. Looking forward to seeing more from the team in the future!

Reptiloid Simulator by Mark Chepicov 2018-08-15T08:00:43Z

A pretty funny game, music is quite catchy. Great work! Look forward to seeing more from your team in the future!

CLAMPRESSOR File Archiver by Deaymon 2018-08-15T06:21:00Z

Really strong submission! The default controls were a little strange, but I got used to it. A very nice gameplay loop, make sense and is pretty addicting!

Gridlock by TerraPass 2018-08-15T23:36:14Z

Really strong entry, congratulations team! The aesthetic is fantastic and all your assets are very cohesive. Something quite hard to pull of in a jam environment. The lack of audio in general was a shame and hurt the over all product the most. I found the game very meditative, which was a nive break from a lot of the other action, shooty shooty games im been playing this jam. Looking forward to seeing more from the team in the future!

Bolted Explorer by Zelif 2018-08-15T11:06:56Z

Definitely a seedling of much bigger plans. Congratulations on still submitting something! In future scope management is something i hope you will look back at this project and use. For reference! The movement felty a little wonky, however it was easy enough to get used too. I dont feel sound was used to its full potential. Sound is a pretty critical part of video games and can really improve the way a game feels. You ammo mechanic was fantastic! Greay work! Thank you for sharing your project with us! :D

Follow The Light by DraperDanMan 2018-08-13T18:48:37Z

Yeah, @ktur I'm pretty sure there is a bug that I ran out of time to chase down that thinks a wall has hit you when it hasn't.

Follow The Light by DraperDanMan 2018-08-15T03:52:16Z

@sharks it sure did! Very slight! Nice spot! Thanks you did great too!

Follow The Light by DraperDanMan 2018-08-15T08:33:22Z

@mikixen oh the one where it resets when your on the floor? hmm Thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed it!

Follow The Light by DraperDanMan 2018-08-15T08:34:24Z

@jackwilson Awesome! I'm glad there was a bit of challenge there for you! <3

Follow The Light by DraperDanMan 2018-08-15T09:49:09Z

Yeah @matank I was hoping the only coloured blocks (red) would do well enough to indicate danger, but perhaps I should have done more! Glad you had fun though!.

Follow The Light by DraperDanMan 2018-08-15T10:44:04Z

@mikixen oh wow! Interesting i will look into that when i get home from work. What platform are yoh playing on?

Follow The Light by DraperDanMan 2018-08-15T10:53:43Z

@mikixen thanks! Ill look into it! 💪

Follow The Light by DraperDanMan 2018-08-16T00:38:39Z

Thank you everyone, I found out what's causing the random deaths in the long rooms. I got my maths wrong and the wall in the room below is technically 'hitting' the players feet and causing the reset. I'll fix this up after work tonight and make a seperate bugfix v1.1 build.

Follow The Light by DraperDanMan 2018-08-16T08:32:04Z

Thanks @saoi-games i tried to tune in, but i was at work 😭 ill give it a watch over when i get home.

Alive by Darylsteak 2018-08-15T10:42:00Z

This aesthetic is beautiful! I as mentioned the digging is really tedious. Other than that a really great submission! Looking forward to seeing more from you in the future!

Recycling frenzy by Sharks 2018-08-13T18:32:13Z

Slow to start for me! I was searching for a button in the room :joy: The music was pretty good, though started to feel quite repetitive on top of the organizing boxes. However, perhaps that was the point. Nice work completing another LDJam! You're kicking goals!

L: An Interactive Mystery by Cercle 2018-08-15T07:31:58Z

This was really awesome! I'm really blown away! A very strong narrative and a very intense way to explore it. The only thing I really have to say is that you should have opt'd out of Humour. Though I doubt you were expecting to do well in that category :P Looking forward to seeing what else the team does in the future!

Pre Alpha Build by PlusMinus 2018-08-15T06:30:57Z

This was really cool! (I'm no good at rts though) the tetris influence on the buildings was brilliant. very simple to get into, while still having quite a lot of depth to explore. It would have been nice to have the hp of the headquarters displayed permanently on the HUD. Overall a really great effort! Looking forward to seeing more of your team's stuff in the future!

AsterVoid by F1Krazy 2018-08-13T18:20:25Z

I was never good at the original asteroids! This is a nice iteration on the original and fit the Jam theme well. Overall it was a very solid well rounded experience, sounds, collisions, particles, etc were all on point. Great work! Looking forward to seeing more from you in the future!

Lucy in the Sky by Joshuc 2018-08-16T04:55:49Z

Woah, the chromatic aberration and motion blur was too strong for me. From what I got to play it was very interesting. The level was probably a bit too large though, took a while to get around!

Deep Down by Nyunesu 2018-08-14T12:10:44Z

This was fantastic! I had been following your progress. This turned out really great. I really struggled with that final saw section! haha Awesome work :muscle:

Bouncy - A Bouncing Ball Game by ItPlay 2018-08-15T11:11:52Z

A really neat and simple to understand game. I'm not very good at it though 😣 my reactions abd positioning is mediocre at best haha. Looking forward to seeing what you make in the future!

Tower of Destiny by Eric Schmiel 2018-08-13T18:10:49Z

Finally submitted my game, So I can vote now! Yay. Thanks for reaching out on Twitter yesterday. I was great fun to play on my work lunch break. The game was really straightforward and well executed. Very Great work in pico8. I mentioned it on Twitter, but I struggled with the dash, it felt a little... delayed perhaps? Overall excellent submission!

Goblin' Up Loot by teddynashor 2018-08-15T23:29:26Z

A really enjoyable toybox to play in. It took me a little bit to get used to the controls. The aesthetic beautiful and visually consistent. Looking forward to seeing more from the both of you in the future!

32D by Préda 2018-08-15T10:38:38Z

Really great fun! Quite a few mini games there! Very impressive for the timespan! Looking forward to seeing the team polish this up!

Bob's Budget Bomb Disposal by Dark Roast Studios 2018-08-15T08:23:00Z

Excellent Compo submission! The difficulty gets very intense after a while! You did really well!

Deep Decent by DanielEFisher 2018-08-15T07:23:04Z

Woah a really solid effort! high fidelity of the models made the lower res textures of the environment stand out. The controls weren't too bad, but definitely room for improvement. Hope this gets polished up a bit more! Looking forward to seeing more from you & team!

Cluttered Mind by HAUO 2018-08-16T01:57:02Z

Woah! That was really interesting! Thank you for making this. Very interesting and aesthetically stunning. (If not a little unsettling) Congratulations on finishing with such a high level of polish! Looking forward to more experimental games from you in the future!

Benjamin's Acceptance by Zachary Granger 2018-08-15T10:56:58Z

Wonderfully hilarious! I found the absurd movements from Benjamin very entertaining. I definitely got more than i signed up for when i played this. The narration was excellent and really added to the experience well. Looking forward to seeing more from you in the future!

Zombie Invasion by YamiOG 2018-08-15T23:20:29Z

This is a really strong entry! The difficulty curve feels so natural. Keeping it simple with a really fun core loop is definetly the way to go! Looking forward to seeing what yoh do in the future!

Tiny Colony by Mikixen 2018-08-15T06:13:29Z

This was really cool! Success You have completed the game! Kept me entertained the whole time. Though the end was quite frustrating moving the villagers around constantly trying to get food to spawn. Overall a great effort! Looking forward to what you do in the future!

Tale of the Bagger: A Love Story by trozen 2018-08-16T04:53:30Z

This was really fun! I don't have anything new to add on top of the feedback people have already given. Well done! <3

Simple Space RTS by Storm626 2018-08-15T13:22:19Z

This is really sweet! Congratulations on completing your first LD Jam! Camera controls on the keyboard would have been super nice for me. It would be really cool to see this polished up a bit and getting a version 1.1! Look forward to seeing more from you in the future!

S.O.B.A.D. by Jamie Reed 2018-08-15T23:15:22Z

This is really impressive! And you have recieved a lot of great feedback above. Ability design is pretty tough to get right, especially with such a limited amount of time. I didnt really understand what my Q ability was doing. Having a secondary action and an effect to go along with buffs are very important. Requires a lot of polish, however overall and exceptional jam game. Looking forward to hopefully seeing this polished up a bit!

Electric Fence - Micro B by Capital-Asterisk 2018-08-15T23:43:26Z

Awesome work! I played this last night and its still in my head. Taking the idea of a topdown shooter and knocking it on its side is reslly creative. You executed on it really well. Yhe controls were reslly hard to get used too for me. But i understand why they are there. Overall a really strong submission congratulations! 💪

Stock Up! by DriagonV 2018-08-15T23:52:13Z

Congratulations on finishing your first game! It will get easier from here! (but it will still be tough because your ambition will grow) Really great getting some subtle education in there! It's made me aware i dont know much about ants! I couldn't finish winter, but i think that was my fault. Oops haha. Looking forward to seeing more from you in the future!

The Maze by nik2434 2018-08-15T04:10:08Z

Awesome work finishing LDjam! A nice little maze game. I had similar issues with the fire. But, apart from that a really solid experience. Keep it up! Look forward to seeing more from you in the future!

Shov Station by Alej 2018-08-16T08:42:03Z

This was really cool! Ylu should be really proud. It looks fantastic. My onky geioe is that the controls can be really frustrating. That said I can't provide a neat solution. Overall a really strong submission! Congratulations

Science Vs. Flowers by RootLM 2018-08-15T04:02:54Z

Control buttons seem fine to me. Though the actual movement is very slippery. I found this game very hard, but I really like the way you limit space. Giving the player time to try and recover the zone before it is lost to the flowers felt superb. Excellent work!

Space Slugs from Planet X by disco 2018-08-15T08:03:22Z

This is really fantastic, gorgeous graphics and excellent music. Very enjoyable to replay as well which can be hard to achieve in a game jam! Great work! Looking forward to the teams future!

AGAIN by Colorfiction 2018-08-16T02:35:03Z

Another FPS platformer yay! This was really cool, the controls felt a little sloppy. (normalising your inputs and not setting the gravity of buttons to be really high perhaps?) I felt like i was in a cyberpunk virtual reality and the moving walls gave a real sense of urgency! Really cool submission! :muscle:

Dungeon Runner by SirMichel 2018-08-15T10:52:46Z

Wow! You managed to pack quite a lot into the game in such a short time! I didn't think your music was that bad haha 😂 really impressive, looking forward to seeing more from you!

Dora De'athsplorer by Phantom Dinosaur 2018-08-15T10:33:12Z

Wow this was executed really well. A great submission! I found myself playing a couple of times! Also the aesthetic is clean an beautiful! Looking forward to seeing more from you in the future!

LD49 — Unstable

Criticality by 3mpty 2021-10-04T09:17:30Z

Surprisingly in-depth simulation. I spent around 3 hours playing this trying to fully unlock the tech tree and get a sodium reactor stable. Learning and optimizing facility designs was awesome. Fiddling around learning how the systems work and getting to the mastery of being able to identify potential issues before they come up. I'm certainly going to be coming back to this to try get a stable sodium reactor!

My biggest critique is that on-boarding is rough, I didn't understand why the simple facility design was working, after a few explosions and making use of the view modes it certainly helped get a better idea for how things worked. I don't expect there was a way to solve this in such limited time so take this with a grain of salt.

Incredible!

Domi-No-Mercy by squimmy 2021-10-04T07:45:15Z

I had a blast*(haha)* with this! Really creative idea turning dominoes into a turn base strategy fight! I would chuckle every time one of the units got knocked down. I landed this great shot from spawn on Town and knocked one of the enemies right off the map! The physics can wig-out sometimes and when an enemy shoots they can knock themselves down, which while funny, felt kind o bad being handed a free win. Some more audio sounds for turn changing, moving units shooting and hitting, falling down would have been great. The textures were a bit of a mixed bag, I wonder if there may have been a more simple-coherent look the game could have taken with such a far out camera. Picking out the troops can sometimes be difficult against the ground and surroundings.

Really solid game! I look forward to more from you in the future!

Critters by BeasRabbit 2021-10-04T05:51:38Z

Initially I had a bit of trouble understanding what my buttons did. (I was pressing Q, A, & Z) Things were moving on the screen so I thought I had it right. After I figured out I was pressing the same action I got a handle for the menus and playing the minigames. The tamagochi vibes are perfect, I think the citter runs out of energy too quick for how much money you can make playing the minigames (mostly keep up specifically doesn't earn much before it becomes too fast to keep up). The minigames were a bit too simple. The pong minigame had an issue where if it hit the side of the paddle it could start bouncing really slowly between the walls to the other side making each point take up to 30 seconds or more. Keep it up also had a weird lock after you hit the ball before you can move again. but after 4 or 5 hits the balls speed becomes really high and impossible to catch.

Really solid output for the Ludum Dare! Keep it up and I look forward to seeing more from you in the future!

Unstable Mines by AppoxGames 2021-10-04T08:13:13Z

Took me a little bit to understand what to do, but after accidently bumping into one of the mines I had dropped it skittled into almost everything on one side of the map making a huge chain reaction which was awesome! Great use of the unity generated sprites. Very slick menus and animations. (love the mine that is synced with the music!) The dash didn't seem to work for me, I would press shift expecting it to launch me forward and give me some invincibility frames. Really amazing submission, keep it up!

Better Tomorrows by DzejPi 2021-10-04T07:27:16Z

This was really cool! Idle/incremental games are always a great bit of fun. Marrying that with the narrative of a war torn communist country was often funny at times. Requiring my resources for the war effort. One thing I found confusing was being told to look around the map, but there wasn't really much to look at or interact with. I tried following the ufo and missiles, but they only led me to some rubble.

Great Work!

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Deadication by bcvery1 2018-04-23T09:55:54Z

This was pretty hard to figure out how to play. A lot of backtracking between the shed and the fields. I interaction system was nice and I like the witty comment about picking human food, and who needs food anyway when your zombies die. Made me chuckle. A lot of cool tech here, I'm sure more time would have helped 'flesh' out the flow more. Keep up the great work!

Cocaine McBain - A Farm Rush Adventure by Goat Toaster Games 2018-04-25T16:41:57Z

Simple and elegant, great submission for LD41! I don't think it fits the theme (let me know if I'm missing something) not that it matters that is only one voting category. The aesthetic is consistent and beautiful. It was nice to get into a sort of flow with the obstacles and harvesting in between. Great work! Looking forward to your future projects!

Super Dashball by SecretPocketCat 2018-04-26T12:13:20Z

Fantastic! I had been really looking forward to playing this when we spoke on Twitter. Finally got a chance to play some games today. Excellent work!

Mysterious Floating Gems by roflmoqkz 2018-04-23T10:36:39Z

What a combination! This was really fun, the constant stress of trying to keep an eye on dodging was intense! getting some animations (just some tweens even) in the for all the different interactions would have really helped round off this game as a whole. Really great work! Keep it up!

Dodge The Bullet by Apace 2018-04-23T09:10:12Z

This was really great! That last level was definitely my favorite! It required me to think a bit more on my feet in the second half after the new bullets entered on screen. The movement was a little visually glitchy for me but it din;t inhibit gameplay. Great work!

Scarry by Memel06 2018-04-23T09:00:05Z

This was really cool! I always feel weird with games where I'm shouting into the microphone while playing haha. The atmosphere is solid and really sold the whole experience! Awesome work!

Scarry by Memel06 2018-04-23T09:19:29Z

@Memel06 Oh I totally would have lost my voice! Even as it is while streaming the majority of the event my voice is raspy!

Skirmixer by DraperDanMan 2018-04-25T14:33:10Z

Thanks @Yirggzmb ! It was great fun to see you having a go!

Skirmixer by DraperDanMan 2018-04-25T21:01:06Z

Thanks @mrPenguin fixed now!

DeathBall by Andreadbx 2018-04-23T11:15:16Z

Pretty cool! I enjoyed breaking the robots apart with the ball more than scoring goals! It's pretty hard to freeze the ball when it's bouncing up and down really fast, it may have been nicer to allow the player to freeze the ball at any time without requiring them to aim at it? There was way too much motion blur for my tastes, sometimes it was difficult to see where I was going when turning around. The sounds were great and really gave the feeling of a soccer ball bouncing around an enclosed room. Overall really awesome work!

Typodie by Kusaihana 2018-04-23T09:33:55Z

This was interesting! Though there was a lot going on to manage at first. Type, place towers, roll dice, etc. At first, I was taking my time, because it appeared turn based. but more and more enemies were spawning while I was just reading how to play. But perhaps I was mistaken and there was something else I was doing. However, it means that the 2nd or 3rd time I rolled the dice I died immediately haha. A very interesting idea! Great work!

Ducks Hunter (Shooter + Racing) by StarzzDrak 2018-04-25T16:33:37Z

This was great! I laughed quite a lot while playing just from the strange situation alone. The sfx were super satisfying. Great work! Looking forward to your entries in the future!

Turbo Viking by benskca 2018-04-25T16:27:16Z

This was rad! visually everything was really cool to look at and made sense. Gameplay wise, the car drove just like I expected it too, which was great. I feel as there wasn't as much gold as there should have been? it was hard to afford upgrades. a lot of levels had no cash, but lots of traps and enemies. Lots of cool details here. Really great work for the 48 hour compo! Keep it up!

Endless shooter by theBOSS12 2018-04-25T16:18:51Z

Pretty solid jam game! Pretty stressful dodging those planes. Theme is only one of the categories, so dont worry too much about what people are saying. I had a fun time. Though it was a little on the tough side for me! Great work! look forward to seeing more from you in the future!

RealTimeStrategy-Racing Game by Lecalat 2018-04-23T10:27:01Z

Oh damn this is cool! very challenging, but ultimately fits together quite well. aesthetically consistent, with a pretty great atmosphere. Great work!
