A nice little game! It wasn't always clear why some of the levels seemed to restart? Maybe when you are stood on the floor a little too long? Otherwise the addition of 'lava' floors and blocks added some good progression later on. :) well done.

Nice game (:
Yeah, @ktur I'm pretty sure there is a bug that I ran out of time to chase down that thinks a wall has hit you when it hasn't.

Extremely fun! The sensitivity felt just right, the levels are really fun to navigate, and the timer is a great way to have the player mess up a little on their first run and want to play it once more after getting a handle on the mechanics. "The floor is lava" levels are really great at teaching the player to stay up high to get better times.
The only real nitpick I have, and I really can't be sure what an elegant fix would be, is that for the first 5 deaths or so I didn't realize the wall behind me was killing me and I was really confused. I'm not sure of any clean way to give feedback to the player, though. The only thing that comes to mind is a wall rumbling sound that gets louder as the walls close in, to let you know the wall's about to smack you, but that runs the risk of ruining the great ambience.
Lots of fun! Definitely returning to this one when I've got two minutes to spare to try and improve times :)
* controls feel stiff when falling * the 'floor is lava' part was really not clear * feels like you hit terminal velocity really quickly when falling... not sure if that is intentional.

Am I crazy or did the camera have some nice tilt effects? Overall I enjoyed the game. The music was good, and great for the limited time you had!
@sharks it sure did! Very slight! Nice spot! Thanks you did great too!

Ooh, gameplay was really smooth and audio was great! The sounds of the footsteps and jumps added a lot to the experience as well. The falling and double jump moments were fun when you hit space at just the right time and it takes you really far. The game made me want to continue playing for a long time, the challenge and reward feels just right :) I only stopped when I met the (likely) above mentioned bug!

This was cooooooooooooooooool!!! There was a long level shortly after the first appearance of lava that I really struggled with, but I got there in the end. Game flow 10/10 :)
@mikixen oh the one where it resets when your on the floor? hmm Thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed it!
@jackwilson Awesome! I'm glad there was a bit of challenge there for you! <3

Took me some time to get into it but I eventually really liked it! I didn't manage to get to the end (is there an end?) but I only stopped after playing for a long time because I got to a state where the respawn point caused my character to die immediately so I couldn't keep playing.
In any case until that happened I felt the game was really fun and addictive. Would be nice to have better indication of what's going on - e.g., took me a while to figure out that some platforms kill you if you land of them.
Oh, and I really liked the shrinking space and use of the theme here. Felt really claustrophobic and actually got me into panic mode :) Good luck in the jam!
Yeah @matank I was hoping the only coloured blocks (red) would do well enough to indicate danger, but perhaps I should have done more! Glad you had fun though!.

@draperdanman I just replayed the game and realised that the floor is lava did not render for some of the levels previously (only 1 had a red floor the entire game, even the last level which i was stuck at was white)! So previously on the last level I could run quite a bit on the floor before the level restarts itself, which was strange. When I played this time many of the lava levels rendered right (I was like, wait, there were these levels?) and i made it to the end, yay! :D
@mikixen oh wow! Interesting i will look into that when i get home from work. What platform are yoh playing on?

@draperdanman I'm playing on Windows, graphics quality medium! Thinking back on it, I thought I was taking fall damage at some point, those were probably the lava levels that didn't show haha. Perhaps it's a graphic card issue on my side, but if not, I hope you can find the bug! ^_^
@mikixen thanks! Ill look into it! 💪
Great game ! Loved the dynamic that it has and the graphics and the music just blends in perfectly with it. Good job

I really liked the concept, would be nice to have a way to adjust the FOV settings. Something about the current FOV gave me slight motion sickness which is abnormal for me

The idea is simple but realisation is good. It plays good, it feels good, I really like the soundtrack. And simple design.
Really cool game! I think the mouse sensibility is a little to low. Love the level design. With longer levels and different music, it could be a great game. The "red" level are cool, and the difficulty balance is perfect. Good job!

Very enjoyable! Love these types of first-person challenge games. The idea is there, the movement is alright, could be a bit less "floaty", but it works well. At first you don't notice the walls that much, but later on they really start making you feel almost a bit claustrophobic. It would have worked very well as a endless procedurally generated challenge!
The presentation is simple, but it works, could have gone with a bit more colour. One thing that I would have liked to see however was a greater focus on the light effect. The game is called "Follow the light" but the light source for the next level is not very noticeable, only if you where behind a objects, and saw the shadows did I notice that there was indeed a light source on the hole. I would have liked it if the rooms where a lot darker, and the light source "popped" a lot more.
In the end a nice concept! Great work.

251 seconds was my best! Very fun, really good flow!
Such a cool game!
Pros: - Super nice mood and feeling while playing - Very fun gameplay
Cons: - Took some time to get used to the controls (maybe the ultra setting was a bit laggy in my pc) and to understand that only touching the walls killed you (specially the behind one)
Cheers!
Very cool game and such a cool implementation of the theme.
The game is nice and fast paced. The shocking colours work well against the otherwise 'white' blocks. Controls feel smooth and responsive and the soundtrack is spot-on! Very nice entry, well done!
Hi Draper, finally got a chance to try your game. I liked it . I've always been fairly skeptical of first person platformers, I got some old memories of a few choice segments from the first Half Life games that I remember being a bit rough xD, but I thought it was interesting here. Kind of rhymes with Clustertruck.
I think by far the most enjoyable parts of the game for me were the places where you could just free fall from really high up from one hole all the way down through the second hole. It just felt really cool and I think there's something about seeing the floor flying up at you that creates a really interesting feeling, probably because a little bit of the fight or flight part of your brain is going off because any other time you would see that kind of visual it would be time to panic . I also thought the floating red cube mechanic was interesting and I would have liked to see more of that.
I wasn't always sure when the floor would kill you or not though. Sometimes it would trigger a fade out, other times you could just run to the hole, it felt a little off or something and I didn't really know when it was ok to hit the ground and when it wasn't.
Looking forward to seeing your next project  top score.png Also here's my best score :sunglasses:
Thank you everyone, I found out what's causing the random deaths in the long rooms. I got my maths wrong and the wall in the room below is technically 'hitting' the players feet and causing the reset. I'll fix this up after work tonight and make a seperate bugfix v1.1 build.
You really nailed that "Mirror's Edge" feel.

It was pretty laggy on my computer, but I would say it is a pretty fun game! The graphics are simplistic (WHICH I LUUUV) and the gameplay is fast-paced. Good Job!

neat game. I think it has potential to be something more, with different types of obstacles are more variety to the look. The clean, minimalist look is great
Can only play web games right now but I like the idea!
I love how the game is so fast paced!

I love these types of movement optimization games. The double jump and floor-is-lava added a lot. It's minimalistic but has a nice vibe that suits it very well. My best time was 139.8.
Thank you for sharing your game with me. I played it on my stream tonight at https://www.twitch.tv/saoigames
I have rated your game, but all of my feedback was captured in the stream.

Thanks @saoi-games i tried to tune in, but i was at work 😠ill give it a watch over when i get home.
I really liked your game. I did not want to press shift to accelerate. I think it would not be bad to add blocks of different shapes

Great game! The movement is smooth and easy to control! The walls are a little bit buggy when they collide with the play. But other than that, great job! :D
@draperdanman Great game man. I liked it a lot but there is not a way to get killed or to lose but overall enjoyed the game. the graphics, sound and the visuals are all great.
Tricky, but fun! I love a good parkour challenge from time to time, and this definitely scratches that itch. The graphics are minimalist, though very functional, the audio is good (especially the music!), and the gameplay is solid and polished.
Also, *wow*. I'm not much of one for claustrophobia (in fact, I usually *like* small spaces), but the walls closing in here are genuinely claustrophobic. Ace use of the theme.
Excellent entry!

WOW! This game send me into some weird trance with my mind wondering here and there from room to room. Deffinetly on of the rare minimalistic but perfectly executed entries for this jam. @DraperDanMan, you did a great job! Thanks for the experience
If I hit the red floor and somehow manage to get to the next room while my eyes are closing. I survive. cool :)
