Your game Kitty Reaper is a really cool idea and really puts the theme of "The more you have, the worse it is", into a really cool game. I enjoyed the game a lot and the idea of having to strategically avoid other innocent animals to get to your victim is a cool concept
Pros: - I enjoyed having to look for the old animal, adds a new aspect to the game - The music and audio was really nice
Cons: - The graphics could maybe be a bit better - The animals tended to go too fast at times and I am unable to avoid them coming out of nowhere and get killed
Overall this was a really nice game and you should be proud of what you achieved. :)

I will probably need more xanax ... cute things are running on me >< does every creatures in this world want to die ? (or maybe it's just to get a hug, because i'm super fluffy ?). Nice and fun game, maybe some strange collider but liked it !
It's a good game, fun to play, but a little short.
It would be cool if the music changed based on how sad you are.
A little bit too short, but pretty nice game, a bit frustrating to move so slowly while the cats are purchasing you :D This has a good potential because with some more animals with their owns rules, you can have a real strategic stealth game. Overall, good job on this one !
Bright sceen and fun gameplay with clear goals and no confusion. Music is also nice. The idea is very interesting. However it's a bit too easy.
You had a really great idea with this game, I just think the cute animals are too fast (but it's easy to fix). In general I like the game.
Those animals really wanted to die, but I somehow managed not to kill them too much. Just enough much. Simple fun game.

Really nice idea and concept! The only thing that bothers me is that there are some grass patches that you can't walk through, but otherwise it's great!

Great simple game, quite funny. It could do with some more feel since animals dying feels a little underwhelming. Stuff like screenshake and other forms of feedback would help.
Great concept of killing an enemy being bad. The character being Death made this all make sense, very good world building.
The elderly worm people artwork is great.
Some critiques: - Character movement could be a bit more fun, maybe faster? - The bright green and bright pink hurt my eyes a little.
The game felt the right length and had an ending, I enjoyed this game. Well done.

Nice! Challenging but fun :) I like what you did with having to avoid the other animals. I didn't really like the target animal - it feels a bit reductive that it's in a wheelchair with sunglasses, you know? Besides that, this was a really cute and fun entry - great work!

You've got an impressing team ! I loved the graphics, the concept and the mechanics; but I got depressed after a dozen of pigs ran to their death :( I also liked the game over. Good job, hope to see you on future jams ;)

The piglets had amusing deathwish, trying to walk at you all the time. They even moved faster then you (thankfully they got easily stuck to walls).

Worked fine for me using latest Firefox on a mac. The game was very cute but also made me sad. Now I realize my free-running pig didn't go to a farm like my parents told me :(

I quit anyway! :-) The trick was that the piggies don't move very fast vertically and their path finding around houses etc was simple so that's the way to avoid them! Simple short game but that's what the jam is about. Nice job!
Very cool and funny idea, but unfortunately the graphic style is not really consistent. The music, on the other hand, goes into your ears and is also perfect for this setting!
It was a good game, Just had a couple of issues with the hitbox of the cat & some areas between buildings that looked like they should be accessable but wernt.
Those poor animals! The pink dogs looked funny :)
Pretty awesome idea! I like the art and the theme was fun. One suggestion would be to keep the hit box just on the character's feet for a game with this perspective so that you can fit between buildings more intuitively. Other than that, was fun!
I loved the concept and the characters, the art was nice, although would be better to keep a consistent resolution between all characters and background, music worked well too. I made it to the end, then tried again because i wanted to see the cat getting dramatic.. not as dramatic as i hoped but still. Gameplay was simple but fun enough, good job.

This game is so funny and cute! I love the dialog, and the concept, and art. So funny! I would love to see more cute animals to avoid, like cats, or puppies. Your student team did a great job!

What an interesting idea :D The graphics worked very well with the game and the music was catchy. I didn't really understand why the pigs were suicidal but that definitely made the game more difficult.
Good thing there was an in-game tutorial, people tend to miss that and many people don't read the description. As others have said, the collision handling was a little obnoxious in the way that you sometimes would just stop because you collided with something not really touching the player, since it's a topdown game it makes more sense to have the hitbox around the feet. The level design could have been made to make sure the player doesn't sneak in somewhere where he shouldn't.
The things I've mentioned are just some details, I really admire the fact that you got together and made this into a classroom project. I wish my teacher had these kinds of ideas :D

There's a coherent feel of cute, inevitable doom to this game. The audio and visual work well together, and it's a nice concept. The title is great and this is the only cat reaper I've seen here. So, you've got some uniqueness. Congratulations!

Cool idea. It was sometimes hard for me to judge if I ould walk between two hoses or not. But otherwise well done.

The game is very very short and easy. I finished it on the first try. Not sure if I didn't get it properly, but I couldn't avoid killing some animals as they moved faster than me and were completely attracted to me. However, very nice!

When I used the arrow keys to avoid cute critters and reap the cripple, I felt successful. If you continue to develop this game, when I reaped and didn't see a reaping animation, I wasn't sure what was happening.
@ethan-kennerly A reaping animation is a great idea. We definitely didn't have time for that, but if we update, we agree that it is a must have.
Nice game, I like the tileset. It's pretty short, but it's still cool and funny.
Very charming! I love the concept. The one part that I really didn't understand is why the animals go towards you when you get close. It makes sense mechanically to make the game more challenging but why do the little piggies wanna get reaped? :(
@schu I would like to say that they are going after you because you are so lovable... but the real reason is because they were supposed to be dogs chasing a cat, and those assets didn't get finished.
Music was really catchy and I loved the "have more fun than me" line at the end of the tutorial!
Cute! I like the colorful graphics even if there is some inconsistency in style. It's a pretty funny idea having a grim reaper be so adorable to be chased down even if it means death for the other party.
I don't care if they're dogs or pigs. If they die, at this point, it's more their fault than mine >:I

This game is very cute in setting and overall atmosphere. Kittie Reaper is a protagonist I can really cheer for, since the juxtaposition of impending death and destruction along with the need to keep fuzzy cute things alive is just that funny.
The game itself is alright. A bit on the slow and simple side, but regardless, nothing too intrusive. My one qualm is that, mechanic-wise, it makes no real use of the theme as a mechanic or to outstand in setting. The bar is pretty much a reverse health bar with average contact-damage enemies.

@moski We have definitely had some people letting us know that it was too slow. Thematically we felt that a depressed Grim Reaper just wouldn't be in any kind of a rush. Gameplay wise, it should probably be modified. Thanks for playing!

Would have loved a secondary mechanic to distract / slow down kitties - now I often could not outrun them.
@joror A distraction mechanic would have been awesome! It is possible to out run them by juking them out (going left/then right quickly), but the mechanic for it really isn't explained very well. Thanks for the feedback!

I liked the way you narrated the poor kitten life. His job is most certainly worse than mine hahahaha The movement could be a little bit faster and the difficulty a bit higher though. Also: More stages!

Its difficult in that those pesky pigs are FAST. Other than that its a nice game. The slow movement I find frustrating but I understand due to the size of the levels. The graphics are cute, audio is nice and it fits the theme I think in that the more animals means more difficult which in turns means more depression.

Cute, but also very sad :( why do all the animals want to die? They are running at me so fast that I don't have a real chance of escaping them... I think it would probably be less frustrating if I could move a bit faster.
