It' a nice puzzle game, but it surely deserves a better graphic and some tuning to the difficulty.

Have a great day!

r3c0d3r 2018-08-13 15:27

Liked the storyline(?) of the game haha. :star: :star: :star: :star: :star:

superpokeunicorn 2018-08-13 15:36

I like it! The premise is pretty simple, but well executed. While most puzzle games tend to feel slow, this one was very fast paced. I like how energetic the whole thing feels, especially when the music speeds up as you're running out of time. I really like the narrative theming as it fits well with the gameplay, since you aren't getting rid of tiles, but rather just compressing three into one. The cutscenes were also pretty funny. Overall, this is a simple game, but one that was a blast to play. Nice work!

hegemege 2018-08-13 16:31

Nice match-3! I don't fully agree with Shift for clamping, but it worked alright for the couple of minutes I managed to survive.

I played it almost like a rhythm game at times in the start. Good, tactile audio + animations!

314owen 2018-08-13 16:32

Addicting gameplay although the game over screen is a bit much.

girania 2018-08-13 16:33

I found it really fun and interesting. However, I feel the graphics could be improved, and some controls were strange??? I really liked it, though. Very decent entry :)

andrew-friedman 2018-08-13 16:34

I love the main game mechanic. Clever UI in general. Make the clamp phases easier to tell the difference between. Great game!

talios 2018-08-13 16:35

This is exceptionnal, everything is awesome in this game ! I got hooked ! That's definitely a game I'll play again and again ! Huge congratulations and mad respects !

jens 2018-08-13 16:46

This was awesome :D Well done! The only thing I would change is the key bindings, I found it quite hard to play with shift and space for the actions. The tutorial was great and innovative, really enjoyed it.

j0ye 2018-08-13 16:48

Really nice puzzle game. But hard to master

syrapt0r 2018-08-13 16:48

Awesome idea! The gameplay is easy and intuitive and the overall presentation is amazing! I loved the soundtrack and the art style. Also I laughed after the game over ^^ The music going up in pitch when you run out of time is also a great little detail. Amazing game!

deaymon 2018-08-13 16:56

@jens @girania @hegemege Thank you for playing and for the feedback! :D Do keep in mind that, as any Unity game, the controls can be changed in the Input tab before hitting "Play!"

jens 2018-08-13 17:11

@deaymon Didn't think about that :P I'll give it another try!

stateoff 2018-08-14 02:50

... and the funnies of them so far.

Also loved how you linked to your other games via the apps. I guess you are the first one to make use of advertising space in LD games. If google finds out they will probably buy ldjam.com :end:

thijs-tak 2018-08-14 17:54

Nice one. That was pretty fun. I liked the app style reviews and intro. Keep it up.

draperdanman 2018-08-15 06:21

Really strong submission! The default controls were a little strange, but I got used to it. A very nice gameplay loop, make sense and is pretty addicting!

annie-owl 2018-08-15 15:22

Interesting take on a match 3 game that fits this jam's theme perfectly. Good job.

raccoon-js 2018-08-15 18:57

This is actually fun! I love it!

walnoot 2018-08-16 19:03

I could not get it to work on Linux, both my monitors showed a black screen from which I couldnt exit

endurion 2018-08-16 19:32

Interesting idea, and a new variant of match 3 for me :)

The masquerade as mobile with apps and the game over message is lovely! The only thing a bit weird is the control scheme, I'd preferred pure mouse driven. Got 2200 compression points my a** :)

shp 2018-08-16 19:39

Gameplay was pretty good, very hard to predict where the blocks will move when they go out of the way when you move another one, which was a bit annoying, but other than that it was fine. the visuals serve their purpose but the audio forced me to lower the volume a lot

dovakla 2018-08-16 19:41

This is a nice little match-3 game! The controls are a bit weird but I got used to them pretty quickly. The thing that kept throwing me off was that you can't make vertical matches or matches with >3 files. I like the visuals and music a lot too, and the starting and ending cutscenes were funny. Nice work!

deaymon 2018-08-17 17:19

@walnoot That's a shame! :anguished: I don't have a Linux system, so I couldn't test it. Thanks for trying it anyways! Maybe WINE works on the Windows version?

@Dovakla Yeah, didn't have the time to code other types of matches  I'll add them once I get to do a updated version!

drtizzle 2018-08-17 18:08

Nice entry! Very original main menu (angry guy screaming to right ). I am not a big fan of match-3 games, but this one got me hooked for a while. It feels very nice to clean up the playing board and have some more space to breathe. Graphics are simple but effective, and the music is cool but a bit repetitive after a while. Overall a very nice game!

cope 2018-08-17 21:23

Very nice game. Innovation to the max.

ryomayonnaise 2018-08-17 21:31

Really fun to play ! Nice idea for the puzzles !

swordfish 2018-08-17 21:34

Fun gameplay for sure, though it would have been nice to match more than three or match vertically. The graphics could be improved but they're functional and I like how happy the clamp gets when you combine things.

Reading through the other reviews nobody seems to have mentioned it, but for me at least the audio was crackly and almost like it was playing in slow-motion. I've had that happen before with other games but only if it's running at 2fps or something. The gameplay was smooth but the audio wasn't. Other than that though it seemed like pretty good music.

deaymon 2018-08-17 21:37

@swordfish I'm glad you liked it! The audio thing you mention is weird, indeed. Wish I could do something about it

crastinator 2018-08-17 21:45

Great job! Loved this game. It was a roller-coaster experience playing through this game, as I laughed through the intro, grasped the concept quickly, started to struggle, noticed the music getting off-pitch, panicked, decided you were gonna jump-scare me at some point, saw the screen shake and bleed, and then laughed through the ending. For a quirky LD entry I could not have asked for more.

tom7 2018-08-17 22:56

Intro and end are very cute. High marks for humor and mood. The game itself is perfectly fun, although as far as I could tell there's no constraints on moving things around, so it's really just a matter of finding three icons that are near one another, fixing them into a horizontal line, and compressing. That was reasonably fun, although there's a little bit of a delay in the movement so I couldn't max out my typing speed. Eventually it seemed like it was just too fast to keep up with, not because I was unable to think fast enough, but because the animation when moving or compressing took too much time.

The other thing that I found confusing was that your clamp head is on the left side of the clamp (with the bar extending to the right), but you need to compress when selecting the middle of a group of three. It would have been more natural for me if it was the three icons underneath my character.

2940 compression points!

mike-inprinciple 2018-08-17 23:14

The only thing that I found weird in the game was that when I wanted to clamp 3 files I had to be exactly in the middle of them. I would probably add some kind of AI that checks left and right and the pushes you in the right direction by 1 unity before clamping the files.

In my experience, I didn't run out of space much. What I ran out of is time every game I played, so I'm not sure the theme has been hit as well as it could have?

With all this said, I enjoyed my time playing this game, but I think it would need more mechanics to retain interest.

sh1rogane 2018-08-18 16:12

I had surprising fun with this game. A cute solid match 3 game with nice tunes/sound effects and fun "story". The match 3 mechanic was new to me and felt mostly polished, there was sometimes how the things shifted places when moving them that it looked odd or didn't make sense but I don't know.

The graphics was also very nicely done.

knithguris 2018-08-19 07:00

The game has nice and simple mechanism! Also I like the humourous app review at the end of the game

igor-kingamer 2018-08-20 23:56

Very fun and innovative, mixing traditional puzzle elements into a well executed game.

I found what should probably be called a bug, you can "fool" the combo system by clamping a file, then moving around and compressing files of it's type. But maybe that's a feature XD

deaymon 2018-08-21 17:38

@igor-kingamer I think what you're refering to is actually one of the two ways to make combos and get more points. By compressing the same file over and over again without releasing it gives you greater scores. (The other one, compressing files without "grabbing" a file to do that)

igor-kingamer 2018-08-21 18:19

@deaymon Actions "use to be" mutually exclusive, so this looks like cheating. But that's nice, increases the number of strategies you can use

dimesto52 2018-08-23 12:18

friendly but the music is super stressful even when there is no danger of losing

gilborn 2018-08-26 12:14

Nice presentation with the app and so on. The gameplay makes fun und fits perfect to the theme. Good job!

frogcheese 2018-08-27 15:53

This was uproariously funny. The presentation is really top-notch, and it's a cool take on the "eliminate row of same objects" type puzzle game that I haven't seen before!

wildcard 2018-08-29 11:00

Well defined gameplay and exceution. I like the 3d models for the Icons and the mobile setting. Well done!

loyance 2018-08-31 18:56

This made me laugh so hard, you got all the points got humour. This was truly something, probably one of the most entertaining games I've seen so far on this jam. I love small touches like changing music when running out of space. All of this was very high level, congrats!
