Ghosts In The Shell by xgeovanni 2016-08-29T01:55:00
Amazing game (and also is pretty long), but might be hard for anyone who never used unix systems. Pretty good idea!

Amazing game (and also is pretty long), but might be hard for anyone who never used unix systems. Pretty good idea!
Better than original. Great job!
That is a really calm game with neatly drawn graphics.
Though I couldn't really catch the hidden sense of the game, I still liked the relaxing atmosphere. Great job!
I can see that this is almost first experience with the GameMaker, and to be honest - this is really impressive for beginners.
Though the game is definitely unfinished and kind of plain. Particles could've made it much better. Good luck next time!
At first I wondered how could one combine tentacle sea monster with 'one room' theme. And then I was disappointed.
The idea of multi-phase boss is really cool, but the unbalanced difficulty and poor graphics do not leave any positive feelings.
This game left me happy! So simple, yet so fun. Yes it requires a good memory, but it is not a problem if you have a pen and a notepad nearby - there is no rush. No concerns!
This game is simple and follows the theme. But the costumer orders are too fast and you just can't keep up with it.
The idea of being kidnapped is quite unique and I loved it. The voting system at the end of each day reminded me of "Survivor".
Some flaws are:
Need to scroll the screen to see all the content
Often clicks do not register, so I have to click like a madman
I did not finish, but I really liked it! At first I failed to understood what I was supposed to do, but then it all got clear for me. The only thing I did not like is a music balance. Sound effects were way louder than the music. Overall - pretty neat game =)
This is an amazing game with lots of replayability value. I'm not really sure how you are supposed to defeat ??????, but other than that - this is a very balanced game. More particles and sounds in the future would be nice!
Very nice game!
I liked the idea of "changing" room, to fit more content into, well, one room. The boss sprite is very neat, although other sprites lack details. No concerns about music
Wow. Hitboxes on this one are really weird. It is a good implementation of the theme, where you have to find that "one room". Good job!
Maze was the first game I ever made, and yours addition of powerups makes it way better. I really liked the background and music. But.. technically it's not one room =)
Visual novels is a good game type to have at LD. Although the story is not so deep, I really enjoyed it and it even made me laugh in some parts.
Did not really like the UI. Bright red kills the eyes =)
A small visual novel. Flashbacks to the past are very well combined with the dark atmosphere of the prison cell. Although I tried to take this seriously - some CG's made me laugh very hard. Nice work =P
The best game I've seen on this LD yet. This was a lot of fun and it has a lot of replayability value too!
Welp, this coffin was not a useless purchase then
Description and images reminded me of Q.U.B.E. and I was not disappointed. Very good game, but in the red rotation crystal I somehow clipped out of bounds =/
Couldn't get it to run =(
Got an error that "MSVCR120D.dll" is missing. As I know, "D" in the name of dll stands for Debug. Did you compile your game fore release (never worked with cocos2d before, so that's my only guess)
@cicanci It's win10 =)
Fun little game, but I did not find myself using the abilities (boost, teleport etc) a whole lot. The graphics are a pleasure to my eyes, but some music would be nice too. Great entry
I really liked the graphics in this one
To be honest, even the easiest difficulty was tricky for me (but that's just me). A small story, sound effects and controls are nice
The only thing that bothered me are story text sounds. They were a bit too loud
A nice implementation of a wolf, goat and cabbage puzzle. Took me some time to figure it out. Feels nice to finish it
Some chill music would be nice, good luck with your learnings.
Wow. I enjoyed the style and mechanics. Making something like this in less than 48 hours seems insane (multiple endings and all). The stats at the end of the game really make you feel immersed and I think it is a beautiful neat little thingy to have
Amazing job
Nice little game with neat graphics Some music would definitely make it better
(Also, the game window height was too large for my screen, so I couldn't see the remaining energy)
Wow, I can't believe you managed to do this for compo. Graphics, music, story, mood, puzzles - that's a complete set of features for an entire game, and you got it all in one submission. Walking times seemed way too long, but it wasn't that big of a problem. Amazing job on this entry =)
Gameplay feels kind of slow and sounds are on the low sides, but overall this feels like a good game It's a good thing you have upgrades. They really do save you sometimes
The simple minimalistic graphics made my day. Would be nice if time between questions was a little shorter, but I enjoyed this game either way
Oh my god, you did an amazing job on sound effects and music Controls felt a little too tight, and on some platforms did not have good cycles when you restart on the checkpoint (meaning that you'll have to wait for them instead of timing your jumps) I like this game =)
Felt oddly satisfying to crash into stuff
Some more possibilities (like upgrades maybe?) would be nice
Every game on PICO8 I play looks amazing and this is no exception. Great idea, but hunger refill at the start of every climb would be nice. Awesome game
I like how this is basically two games. Landing was hard, got I spent so much time trying to figure out, but it was satisfying. I love how the planets change their appearance after colonization. I gotta say though, 10 planets is too much, but besides that I found this entry very interesting!
This made me laugh so hard, you got all the points got humour. This was truly something, probably one of the most entertaining games I've seen so far on this jam. I love small touches like changing music when running out of space. All of this was very high level, congrats!
I enjoyed this quite a lot. The popups are hilarious, good job on this.
The only small thing I would've changed is that when I click on a title bar on a popup behind the installer it doesn't bring the popup window to the front. But that's just me, besides that, this game is amazing
I liked the game a lot, but I've noticed that as I was playing I was having less fun with constant gun downgrade. The idea is really really good, but probably can be implemented better. I also found the upgrade/trophy switching controls a little tricky. The graphics are very solid for a 2d game and some music would be nice. Overall an enjoyable experience
I didn't get the running out of space idea at first, but that's because I missed the tutorial haha. Once I got it though I found it very creative. I like the game, but one touch kill on zombies makes it very hard. I enjoyed this
This definitely needs some polishing, but I can see how fitting it is to the theme. I mostly have the same problems with design that people pointed out already, but by giving it some more work you can improve it!
Huh this reminded me so much of that scene in Wall-e, that's probably why I enjoyed it so much. The graphics are top notch, but maybe having a little less flashing lights would help. I like the little details on the scene so it doesn't look blank. A very solid entry!
Wow this game really has its parts together. Music, graphics, word choice and everything work together to set a dark mood. It took me some time to figure out what I was supposed to do, but it was that 'aha' moment and I enjoyed it. Amazing entry
I'm always amazed by visual novels in the game jam and this was no exception. It's unbelievable how you find time to do art work, music, story line, and in this case voice acting. The spacebar pressing technique was also quite unique and I loved it. The story kept me to the end, it was definitely something. Very good entry!
Amazing game in such short time. The music and graphics are really something, but the audio voiceover was too quite for me. Alien wave room was iffy though, because I somehow managed to trigger the waves but not the actual countdown
This was truly something, and it does provide entertainment when playing with friends. The music is most definitely the thing I liked the most. The unfortunate part is that the game has no goal, which was said before. Besides that, a very nice entry
I enjoyed this small game. Small things like diagonal movement sprite show attention to detail. The music is very good too. Overall it does feel like a game, good job!
Thanks to the description I was able to figure out the controls. Sound effects were pretty good, as well as music. It's pretty fun, but there is definitely a ton that can be added to make it even better
This a very polished game and it's just a beauty to look at. Though I don't see how it connects with the theme, but besides that I found it really enjoyable. Good job
I found this turn-based movement very fun. Some weapons sprites made me laugh a little. I love inventory management, but boy do I suck at it. Good game
This is an interesting puzzle game, though I think it is a little long. I like the graphics and visual effects a lot, they are really pretty. The game has some background noise so it does not feel quite, but I cannot say that is something nice, just some noise. Overall I liked the mechanic of joining start - never seen this before
For some reason my spawns were not as high as in the picture. Good to see that it is a web version, but there is definitely a lot could be done to improve it. A small background tune is nice too
Hey. If possible, having a web version of this would be nice. I really liked the idea and the music. The step-by-steo moving kind of reminded me of "baba is you". I did not really see how this ties with the theme, but I'd say that this is a decent entry overall
I found the game to be very challenging with the cave entry fee, I just keep running out of money when I try to dig up coal. The graphics are neat, but there is not much to the game.
Hey! Would be amazing if you exported your game into a web version. I really liked the small audio loop. Though it took me some time to really understand what am I controlling and what is my purpose. This was not very clear, and even following your instructions in this post, I did not at first see that my ship was moving. Maybe some more details and/or in-game tutorial would have been better.
I always loved pico8 graphics. Just seems like you can never get it wrong. But I do not think there is anything else to this, which is unfortunate. I hope the next you are not rushed and that the next game is better!
Interesting concept. It is very rare that I see visual novels in LD. I love the "stats" bar at the top. Some music would make this even better
You know, I am not really a hobo, more of a university student, but I found the concept to be very relatable to me. Amazing graphics, and idea. The lack of music kinda gets me, but it did not seem that important. I love that I was able to play with a dog. A very good entry.
The idea and simplicity of the gameplay are great, but as noted above, kind of expected more. I liked that the controls are very intuitive and that the messages are communicated without words. A neat small game!
Interesting game, but I found myself struggling to find resources to upgrade the tools. The resources just felt way too scattered. Great job
Loved this idea. Everything is executed on a very professional level. Though the game did feel a little dragged out, but fun anyway
I really liked the dark mood of this game, but I do not really see where the theme comes into play. This is definitely a neat platformer. The music is nice, but having sounds would definitely make it a lot better. For some reason my game lagged out and crashed when I killed the big skull enemy, idk what is a deal with that
Firstly, I do not think that this game falls under the "Compo" rules as several people have worked on it. Also, no one likes installers - I think GM:S2 should have an option for a single-executable file. And HTML5 export as well. Now onto the game itself. The graphics are great. They are really good for this game. But even they seemed broken (eg: the phone part of the game had some glitchy textures and it did not register any of my inputs. I am just supposing that there are interactive elements there). The controls feel very weird because I was unable to jump and then move. Also, the lack of a fullscreen mode is a huge flaw. I also do not see how this ties with a theme. With all this, I can say that fixing bugs and changing some parts of the game would make this a great entry for the "Jam".
Loved the simplicity and the graphics (for me light mechanics are always fun). As some other people have noted having some audio/music would definitely be a benefit. Also the controls felt very snappy, even though the movement was animated (or did I just imagine this?). Anyway, great job with this entry!
I liked the physics a lot, and that includes the "throwing the drill" mechanic. Not much else to say on this entry though - for a limited amount of time a very solid job.
I wanted the better graphics on desktop version but the Windows link is broken - oh no. Well, I played the browser version instead.
I really liked the ability to "draw" the level. I found the game to be quite challenging though, with just too many stats to keep track of - that's just me though. This is exactly what I needed to pass my AI class at my university
Right, and I was confused by 40k files and 130mb game in the beginning. It's great - but I got stuck on the crypt. I am sure I got the 2x code in the correct order, but it just won't open it. Amazing entry, spent so much time exploring this! I also got into the jail when trying to explore by size... You really thought of this huh.
@jack-lance definitely going with the "thinner and thinner" order of numbers (twice, yeah). Anyway, I wouldn't worry too much about it - probably just me pulling something stupid lol
It's always fun to see semi-multiplayer entries. Great take on the theme too. I personally found that obtaining ladders was too hard. Other than that, I really enjoyed this entry, even though I was unable to get to the end!
The game feels very polished - the music, controls, movement - everything. It's simple, yet it really hooked me. I can really see how this can be expanded into a full game where the worm's shape can "mutate" due to different powerups. Speaking of powerups - I did not really understand what that blue orb gave me other than speed. I thought I was invincible at first, but then I got a ton of damage by ramming into the pink octopus thing
What a nice idea - I got confused by controls in the beginning (maybe a write up next time would be nice?), but then got a hang of it. Even though pico is not the best thing for graphics, I still find it fascinating that the most unique game I find are made using pico. Great job!
From the description I can see that a lot has went into making this work - great job. I was sure Pico was going to break after some time, but I guess I did not get far enough. But I have to agree that there is not much to it than just walking in a random maze - the tech is cool though.
Interesting take on the controls, but I did find that most of the time Luiz just ended up stuck somewhere, and I couldn't really make much progress without him. I did find that the game quickly became repetitive though - there just wasn't too much to do there, but great job on graphics though - I liked them.
I like the simple graphics and the fact that you use gamemaker studio  (still a great engine imo). I liked that with a simple howling sound you were able to make the game eerie - great job there. I did however notice that the browser version of the game started to lag a lot the further down I went, but that's the only concern I have.
**OH YEAH** now this is what I call a good game. The sounds are so simple yet so humorous, same for the idea in general. Great work!
What a great game - the art, the story, the audio/voice, the attention to detail, the jokes. This just screams at me why Jam is an amazing category. Also, the ability to export the playthrough into an image is really great (but I'd like it in a higher resolution). Some of these planets feel like they are coming from the pages of some sci-fi books - it's really great. A fantastic entry 🥳
Great entry! The simple choice of graphics was really on point. I also like how it is semi-turn-based game - really had to think quickly at some points. For me personally it was just the right amount of difficulty.
Wow, this feels like the lore for the game was inspired by true events huh  Who would have thought that controlling the rocket can be this hard? Anyway, fun way to spend time for sure. The hitboxes on the server were a little too tight for me - was really upsetting to crash into the server, but not go into the next level. Also, from your previous comment I really like how you implemented the wall collision - great job!
I'd have to agree with the above commenters that this truly can be a part of something bigger. I personally just found myself speed-clicking through every possible object and applying items logically. Great title though :eyes:
This game hit way too close to home... Thanks for the ability to yeet trash out of the window - that's a really nice touch. I was also wondering "what's up with this music change?" mid-game but then I got it... I can only say that maybe the theme here is a stretch, but otherwise an amazing entry!
Man that single hit sound effect scared me the first time I hit the enemy  I loved the lightning - it always makes a game look great even with simple graphics. Also that troll level with the red pickup got me. Twice. Solid game!
I usually don't rate jam games, but this sure is an exception. The idea is just great, and just shows to me personally how much more can be done in a jam. I liked everything about this game - the graphics, audio and the mood - an amazing interpretation of the theme. My only problem was that I threw some important items from the table by accident, but that's just my fault. Great job!
UPD: Though somehow I was able to get an empty plate without chicken nuggets on a second playthrough - interesting  But 64% after all
That's a very neat idea with the rhythm game - first time I've seen it here personally. For some reason the audio had a lot of crackling noise (probably just web issue), so I mostly had to time it just visually. Got the highest score of 34. It's pretty simple, but it's a well-executed clean concept.
The motion blur was too beefy for my laptop, but I still enjoyed the game a lot. The atmosphere was really created by the light and ambient music. Really liked that dying did not reset all of my progress. Some more variation in caves would be nice (just graphical flavor like moss/vines/etc, ye know, what Minecraft finally did  )
What a great puzzle game. Had a lot of fun trying to reach the egg and was only able to get with a small hint from the solution video. The graphics are great, and I really liked how the puzzle concepts gradually built on top of each other. Great stuff!
@ildenh Typed code must be exact. The case, the spacing, etc
Reminds me of how I tried installing certain graphical drivers of a certain GPU manufacturer, except less painful and things worked first try. Great game with a lot of depth and fun!
I really liked the atmosphere of the game and the mood it creates. I personally think that it would be a lot more fun with limited ammo, because the *abomination* did not really pose any threat. This is an extremely polished 3D game for 48 hours, congrats!
As others have said this is a pretty unique game that reflects on a real-world issue, so thanks for that disclaimer. This game is pretty slow, but in some way it made it feel really real
This is a brilliant idea combining multiple puzzle genres into one. Had a lot of fun trying to complete every level. It's amazing to see how many variations of chess are possible. Also great respect for making the AI so good. And the music is great too, amazing job!
This is a great idea and I enjoyed the music a whole lot. The deaths at the boss fight were a little bit unintuitive, and it felt like the majority of the game was spent in the boss fight, rather than collecting the plushies, which I guess is okay? It's just that I don't see the reason for the 3 different claw cabs to select from (but I enjoyed their design either way)
I especially loved the part that on the final boss I can re-catch the plushies that were dropped and bounced off.
The art is great - I always love to see hand drawn graphics. I was able the max score of 12, and then the big elephants got me. Pretty fun game!
Ah this is a great implementation of 3D "tetris'. At first I was scared by all the controls, but they really are very intuitive. The increase in difficulty is very well balanced. Some people have suggested holding keys for moving the pieces and I 100% agree that it would be a good QoL feature. My only concern is that the countdown and the game start before the dialog is closed, but that's not a major issue. Great entry!
The art style is great as well as the story. Some more indicators of what I element I am carrying would be nice.
Math major here. I died. Great job!
For real though, I'd increase the time for each question
Wow what an interesting entry - made with game maker too, had no idea that you can just tap into winapi like that. Great stuff!
Great idea - I initially had thought of something like this too. For the controls issue I personally think that using the mouse to control the launcher is best (track mouse moving left and right, and click to launch the object). Sometimes it was a little bit hard to judge the size of objects, but the graphics are really well done!
I did get an accidental crash once, but overall had a lot of fun trying to reach the goal. Felt sort of like a weird balancing puzzle. Perhaps increasing the orange dot speed a little bit would be nice
👍👍👍🤣🤣😂🙃💯💯👍👍😂😂💯✔✔✅✅
^Was actually expecting those here, but got a great voiceover instead. Some parts really were quite hard to understand, but I see that this was exactly the point.
Very interesting idea of negating the typical match-3 rules - I enjoyed qutie a lot. I did get confused with overlapping rows though, for me it would've been easier with the "helping" duplicated rows along the top/bottom and left/right. It is a very neat idea, great job!
I really liked the graphics and the idea. The controls felt a little bit weird, but I definitely see what you were going for there. The music is also pretty chill, great job
Good job on your first entry. The music can use some work, and it was not very intuitive how to pick up water - it's just by chance I clicked on it. Great idea though!
