The balloons were surprisingly creepy! Loved the atmosphere, though, it got a bit frustrating after awhile.

The balloons were surprisingly creepy! Loved the atmosphere, though, it got a bit frustrating after awhile.
The laser blast was a bit too slow. Like the idea, but it's a bit annoyingly difficult to actually hit anything.
The general mood really came together for this game! Everything from the music to the visuals to the gameplay itself really contributed to the generally relaxed feel.
Addictive! Major Spaceman's lines were funny, though it got a bit weird with them repeating so much...
Love how silly this game is! The game over screen was especially funny.
Fun! I'd say it was worth 87 well trained rams. Those turrents on the outside of the Death Moon weren't very nice, though...
Game doesn't run for me, just shows a light blue screen.
Silly fun! The controls may have worked better by having you turn instead of moving directly. The mood was fantastic; it felt just like a cheesy monster movie!
206 points over 128 seconds!
Anyways, I *LOVED* the gameplay in this one. The mood of an ongoing battle was also extremely effective.
I liked the kinetic energy idea, but the game ended up being too annoying to play. I found myself getting ambushed by nigh-unavoidable bullets the moment I started a level-- when I wan't glitching into the floor, that is. The game also desperately needed some kind of feedback when you hurt an enemy; I ragequit at the boss because I had no idea if anything I was doing was effective.
It crashed when I reached the first flag...
Loved the concept, and it proved surprisingly addictive!
This is my favorite LD32 game so far! The mechanics were interesting, the visuals and audio were brilliant done, the story was simple yet engaging, the mood was masterful, and the gameplay was addictive... I tend to be pretty stingy with ratings, but have decided to rate a game with a 5 in all categories for the first time.
Fantastic game! It was obvious while playing that the mechanics and levels were very well thought out. My only real issue was with the controls, which were a bit unresponsive at times (particularly when jumping across pits).
It felt like it was trying too hard to be "clever". The two endings were indistinguishable aside from the text (including a helpful bit to let you know if the ending was good or bad, complete with emoticon). The gameplay itself, meanwhile, wasn't engaging at all.
I didn't quite get the ending... was it closing the tab?
Cool concept, and the puzzles were interesting!
Fun stuff! It felt surprisingly polished for a jam game, though seeing outside the level bounds was a bit weird.
The gameplay wasn't interesting enough to be engaging, plus the music was annoying.
Funny game! The sound was a bit annoying though.
Neat game, but I wasn't incentivized to use the frying pan since the iron was useful in all situations.
Simple yet effective, and funny! Though the endings that involved jumping off of something didn't always trigger. Was this fixed in the post-compo version?
Funny, though it got pretty tedious.
Funny concept, but the game got monotonous after awhile.
This is really fun! Though the only real relation to the theme was a bit of storyline fluff in the description...
Liked the concept, but it ended up being too irritating to play.
Loved the concept! Provided some interesting puzzles.
Awesome! The gameplay and aesthetics contributed to a silly, exhilarating feel.
Love the lore in this one.
Funny idea, though the visuals during gameplay didn't look very good. I get that you were going for a sketchy notebook style, but the game itself looked more like MS Paint. The intro was cute, though!
Bug with running the game on Windows is fixed now!
@sararyCow Looks like the autosave system is saving a little after loading the level, instead of immediately at the beginning. I'll see what I can do to fix it...
@sararyCow Fixed!
Solid! The level design is spot-on, and the tutorial was extremely elegantly done (to the point that I may not have recognized it as such if I wasn't a game designer myself). I liked the music too.
The moment I saw "strange super meat boy on steroids" in the comments, I was sold. Fortunately, my lofty expectations were not only met but exceeded! The controls, mechanics, and level design were all spot-on. What there was of the story was hilarious! Normally, I tend to dislike 8-bit style graphics (as I feel they are uncreative from an indie game development standpoint), but here they were very well done and suited the gameplay. The same goes for the audio. That said, there are a few small issues; namely, the respawn time is a bit too long. This may seem incredibly minor, but when you die as often as you do in a game like this, instantly getting back into the action is key. consider Super Meat Boy's respawn time: it's literally less than a second, and the game is a lot more fun to play because of it. Aside from this, though, the game is extremely solid and one of my very favorite titles in the contest!
Hehe, that was a fun little timewaster! I feel like a pseudo-sandbox game like this would really benefit from additional animations and such to see how the chaos plays out. In short, I'd love to see this concept expanded upon! Also, best final boss of the contest.
Working out that I had to use the moon as a projectile (rather than simply a landing platform) wasn't very intuitive, but otherwise a solid game!
A neat little game! The dialog was funny too. I got Ending 4.
Probably the silliest one I've seen so far. The gameplay was addictive, too! Minor gripe: there doesn't seem to be a quit option, and I was on fullscreen, so I has to use alt+tab to exit. Otherwise fantastic!
It felt pretty aimless...
This is funny and all, but in the end it was more of a piece of meta-humor than an actual enjoyable game.
Nice! Loved the mood going on.
Fun distraction, though the game eventually starts lagging to hell after awhile.
Awesome idea, but completing a "battle" can be really finicky at times.
Basic yet entertaining! The visuals were hilarious!
Fun stuff! Though the way some of the weapons were used was unintuitive (Pebble of Boulding, for instance).
Best title of the contest.
The controls make it borderline unplayable, what with the lack of real mouselook and the mouse continually escaping.
I love the idea of a "reverse boss battle", but in practice it could use some work.. The combat mostly boils down to attacking with claws and using the jump when they get too close. The ukulele music was out-of-place and repetitive.
Upgrade system is neat, but the gameplay itself has little substance.
Incredible aesthetic! The watercolor thing is great, although the monster himself stuck out like a sore thumb due to the weird outline.
Love the style, but the controls were a little unresponsive.
I had absolutely no idea what to do. It's just a mass of confusion. It succeeded in further convincing me that ceo of a big game company isn't a good job for me, but I knew that anyway.
Now I have a headache. And an urge to watch Jim Sterling videos.
Wow! This is seriously addictive. The music is great, and the gameplay is easy to pick up yet hard to master. Simply incredible.
I'm curious, did you create the music or the levels first?
*SLAM*
Oh! Come On
I made it to 30. Love the visuals and the juxtaposition of peaceful aesthetic with hectic gameplay. Sometimes a thorn slams down when I'm already in midar and unable to react, but otherwise well done!
oh my god that sword looks so goddamn happy
Funny, but gets irritating right around the city area. Dangerous items aren't distinct enough, and powerdowns are super irritating. Also, the way that the background is scaled up looks really bad and blurry, nearest neighbor scaling would've looked better.
The aesthetic is spot-on!
Silly concept! I think it's a bit too difficult to figure out who knows about the video at the beginning though.
Love the mood going on, and a really innovative concept.
Got a "Flash is not responding" message...
Classic snake with a neat twist. Cool idea!
Really cool mechanic with the rotation!
Cool stuff. The music gets a bit repetitive after awhile though.
I like the general mood going on.
A fun little game, though only tangentially related to the themes.
Really needs an arrow or something to indicate where you're facing. Cool concept though!
very 1337 m8 88/8
Player moving on button up makes it feel unresponsive, and it's too simplistic; I never hit a firewall once!
A fun little homage to early pre-Atari video games. The increase in speed provides a simple but effective form of ramping. A good first effort!
Cool concept!
Neat concept! I imagine this has been done before, but it's executing extremely well.
Absolutely amazing concept, and very well communicated through level design.
It's just... confusing... The tutorial wasn't very helpful, I still don't understand the basic mechanics.
Made it to around 48. Love the mechanics and the hat falling off.
Would have preferred it if you could select a shape rather than cycling, but otherwise well-done!
Destroyed all enemy factories, joined a bunch of my own forces in taking down the base, and got killed by my own jeeps. 10/10.
"Rolling" as non-sphere shapes felt awkward, but overall well done.
Fun stuff! Love the strategic feel.
Neat concept, but the controls were a bit clunky and it's one of those games that sound a lot better if you mute the speakers.
A simple idea executed really well. Reminds me of Super Hexagon a bit.
Love the style, though the gameplay is a bit confusing at first.
Good first try! It reminds me of my own game Weredude, which wasn't that great but it was very useful for learning about Unity.
Controls were awkward, though I loved using the sword.
And I thought I was nuts for making a MegaZeux game a couple compos ago!
Wow, this is a really awesome concept for a puzzle game! I hope you work on it further, because I'd really like to see more of it.
Great use of style
Fun stuff, but I really wish there was a checkpoint at the start of each level
I really wish there was a clear indicator of which surfaces are climbable. Great work otherwise!
Level 7 broke me
Well I can't help but absolutely love this. Getting all the database code working within 48 hours is especially impressive!
Neat aesthetic and challenging battles! I wish the time between waves was longer; there's not enough time to get to the upgrade spot.
The wall jump is super clunky and enemy knockback was excessive, but neat work anyways.
Love the spooky sense of isolation.
Really neat twist on old-school wraparound mechanics.
Amazing visuals in this one.
I liked the procedural audio, but I feel like the goal of the game and how to reach it wasn't adequately communicated. Fun to mess with though!
Cool mechanic and a neat twist on the theme!
That solution put a stupid grin on my face.
Wow this gets nuts! I wish there was a meter or something showing how close you are to losing though
