Cool puzzle game. I haven't seen these features of manipulating words in a game before :)
It's pretty difficult though, I didn't manage to get beyond "feather" :'(
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD32 → The narrator is dyxleic

I can't get "feather" either. I can get "faether"...
Nice job using ClojureScript - functional programming ftw!
Thanks for your feedback! I fixed the issue :D
This is a cool little puzzle game. Might make for a good time re-purposed as a competitive game, or simply a game versus a timer. I mostly just felt compelled to ignore the story and try to solve the word. I think it would be more focused and fun if it simply gave you a target work to work towards.
Thanks for fixing, it works great now.
But: I had no idea what to do with "thcr"; I had to peek levels.cljs to see what word I was meant to make, heh. :)
It would be nice if there was at least some sort of congratulatory message when you finally beat it.
Anyway, I had fun!
I love word puzzles and hadn't seen a mechanic like this before. Really good, clever fun!
Neat idea! I'd love to have a 'max number of moves needed' indicator.
As others mentioned, I stopped reading the story almost immediately, and concentrated on the word.
This is the first time i see and play a puzzle like this one. From this point of view, it is a very interesting and innovative concept. But, because i'm relatively weak with the english tongue, I could not go farther than "cellut".
Also, I'm totally unable to say what and where is the relation to the "unconventional weapon". (maybe i did not read the story carefully enough, or did not go far enough)
Loved the concept! Provided some interesting puzzles.
@SuperUserNameMan Every foe/situation is defused with an unconventional "weapon" (I still can't think of rabbits as weapons)
Really interesting ideal for a puzzle. Made me really think, and eventually I got stuck. Story wasn't particularly engaging for me, and I would reconsider the title; spelling mistakes =/= dyslexia
I just loved the mechanic and had to play till the end!
On the flipside, I just finished the game and have no idea what the story was about, except that I killed cthulhu with a m****r (no spoilers)
OOH, very original. Never seen a game like this in a Ludum Dare.
I liked it, played it through in one go. And then played again, because I realised I had not read all of the stories :D
A bit abrupt ending, but a fun puzzle game nonetheless. Nice job! :)
This was pretty fun. Unlike some other commentators, i've read the story, though it wasn't especially engaging. I actually thought at first that unconventional weapon was supposed to be the word-changing buttons, but then realised there were a lot of these weird weapons during the story itself.
Since you asked to fix the minor spelling mistakes, here are some:
Jack deflect*s*
have been *eating* mushrooms
we*a*sel climbs
:)
The story was amazing accounts of unconventional weapons. The puzzle got a bit daunting, but I enjoyed playing with letters of a word like that, something I don't believe I have ever experienced in a game before.
