LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

Tightrope Theatre by AdventureIslands 2014-12-08T06:57:00

Wow! How could you possibly make this in 48 hours?!? You're a master video game designer!

P.S. I got through every level except the last. The unicycle is exceedingly hard to control on a pixel-perfect scale.

The Tower by Chaoseed 2014-12-24T22:05:00

Clever interpretation of the theme! I've never played a story before... ;)

Blobbit - A Disaffected Squirmy by Wampus 2014-12-24T21:52:00

Very nice! It's a little tricky at first, since most people won't know what they're doing. But once I got up to speed, it was really fun. I played for about 15 minutes, and near the end it got pretty easy, as my health was regenerating almost as fast as I could kill the Squirmys.

I really like how everything fits together so well. The main thing I would change is the use of clay, lava and magic. Gems are used for almost everything, while the other resources have no use besides buying golems. Also, the game screen was a bit bigger than my laptop screen, so maybe making the screen smaller would be a good idea.

Altogether, a very solid entry!

Entertainment Software for Lonely Children by folmerkelly 2014-12-16T03:14:00

This is a great idea, and well executed! The audio is exceptional, and the theme put across well.

I noticed one bug, where the description text would draw even after the game was started. I don't know if this is intentional or not. Altogether, though, this is an extremely well put together game!

Mossnaso by Mase 2014-12-09T20:58:00

Very creative! The black/white graphics are very nice, and the 3D style is awesome. I might have tried to make the movement feel a bit more on the 3D side, though; for example, the player could walk/cast parallel to the walls when up against them.

by gre 2014-12-26T22:18:00

Very nice! I like the snowballs/bullets mechanic. The game gets tougher the further you go, as you get bigger and bigger. I managed to get second place, dying on the wrong side of the road that first place died on... Oh well. :)

Laundry Day by Omiya Games 2014-12-29T16:16:00

Pretty cool concept! I like how you can spend money on the machines, but also profit from doing so. :)

Autumn Physics by Colorvade 2014-12-08T05:24:00

It's a pretty nice concept, and the graphics and physics are great. But because the level randomizes itself each time the ball is run, retrying a run is not possible. For me, this takes away some of the fun-ness. I would suggest keeping the blocks in the same place until the level is complete.

Slimey's Quest by LMT 2014-12-08T07:08:00

Very nice! The audio is lovely, the graphics are just as lovely, and the interpretation of the theme is also lovely. So a lovely game all round.

Yuki and Snow by Raiyumi 2014-12-19T22:58:00

Pretty cool! The graphics are lovely. I never did figure out the secret code, but maybe I'm not very good at that... ;)

Grid Cars by Germanunkol 2014-12-28T17:32:00

Awesome!! Just got off the server after racing with you and a few others. It's a whole lot like real racing. It relies more on strategy then quick thinking, which sets it apart from most racing games. The server can be pretty funny with its comments sometimes, too! :)

Tone Door by TheJiv 2014-12-24T21:02:00

Nice job! I like the sequence typing mechanic; it feels sort of like playing Simon. The trees look great, but I think the door would look better if it was part of something, such as a fortress or a cave.

Snowball juggling Olympio by Benjamin 2014-12-19T22:55:00

WOW! This is definitely one of the best entries in the compo. Aside from the controls, it feels exactly like playing a GameBoy Color. 5-star game all round!

Force Feedback by kumoi 2014-12-29T21:48:00

That's just awesome. A simulation several times over! :) I had an awesome time driving around the track, up the walls and into the void of nothingness. 5 stars all round. The most innovative game I've seen this LD, and maybe the most innovative game I've ever seen :)

Shiftavoid by rob1221 2014-12-08T05:49:00

Very nice! I love the way the boxes are moved around, so that none of the levels needs any more or less. The graphics are also pretty smooth. The one thing I noticed is that the game over animation is a bit harsh. Overall, I think that the game, although quite simple, is very polished and well executed.

Out of bounds! by lion123 2014-12-29T16:49:00

Awesome! It's very innovative, and I loved everything about it. Those enemies are really fun, both to avoid and to shove off the platform. The power-ups are a great idea, too!

Snowman Runner by Pantelis Petsopoulos 2014-12-08T07:28:00

Alcoholic snowman? Now, that's a new one :) Pretty nice game for 48 hours! For the post-comp version, you might want to add in a pop-up that says 'Game Over! Your Score: xx', or something like that.

The Last Panda by Shimone 2014-12-08T05:57:00

Very nice job putting this together in 48 hours! It's quite fun to try to keep up with all the ghosts. It does seem get a little too hard at times, but it's all part of the fun.

Room Nr.6 by PriorBlue 2014-12-30T02:22:00

Pretty short, but really fun. :) The graphics are awesome, and the gameplay is extremely clever. 5/5 overall!

Greeny GRUB by pht59x 2014-12-29T16:23:00

Interesting idea! Here's what I thought about it:

The controls felt unusual, but it seemed to help with the floaty/bouncy style.

I like the life system, and really like how you can retry the level that you die on.

The credits scroll too fast to read; the pausing feature really helped with that, but it still might help to slow them down some.

Overall, a great 72 hour JavaScript game!

Sweep Stacks by excaliburjs 2014-12-25T03:00:00

Very clean for a 3-day game! The mechanics are very smart and well-made, and the graphic style is awesome.

The Worm by xWarZonex 2014-12-08T07:21:00

That's one ridiculous game. :) The music is great, but more importantly, it's fun. Good job pulling off a funny, fun game!

Kuch Bhi ! by bORAT 2014-12-24T22:16:00

Pretty cool! The minimalistic graphics work really well. It would be nice if there was more things to collect or buy, such as power-ups.

Snake Rider by ETHproductions 2014-12-10T00:21:00

Thanks for the feedback, everyone! I agree, the controls/physics do seem awkward, but I've figured out a solution. They should be better in the post-comp version. I'll also make sure the collectibles and hazards can be easily told apart.

You're right that the snake-platform was inspired by the Super Mario games. I'll add more features to it, such as power-ups, in the next version.

Currently, the snake speeds up every eight seconds, but it does start out kind of slow. For the post-comp version, I'll make it faster.

I'm glad you guys like the music! I created it in ~15 minutes with a Flash-based program called Beepbox (www.beepbox.co).

Snake Rider by ETHproductions 2014-12-27T03:28:00

Thanks for all the feedback! The controls are quite slippery in this version, but I've already fixed that in the post-compo version. I've also improved the generation of items. Next on my list of things to do is add in some more power-ups.

Snake Rider by ETHproductions 2014-12-29T16:14:00

Thanks, guys! I've made the bad coins darker in the post-comp version. Turning them red sounds like a good idea; I'll see if it helps.

pht59x: No audio? You must've hit M, which mutes all sound. Sorry for not integrating the mute function very well; it was a last-minute addition.

Snake Rider by ETHproductions 2014-12-29T18:08:00

I did change the snake's AI quite a bit in the post-compo version. I'm considering making the snake, along with the player, be able to wrap around the screen (i.e. pass through the right side and appear to the left, and vice versa). That would help the player in situations where they currently get stuck underneath the snake, or pushed off the side of it.

Dry Land by funkysquid 2014-12-28T23:57:00

Nice! I had a hard time figuring out how to play at the beginning. It was pretty fun (and funny!) once I figured it out. I think that there should be a way to restart the game, because currently it's more difficult than it should be to play again after dying.

Fill the bar by SMASH BASH 2014-12-26T15:10:00

Awesome! Most original idea I've seen so far. I wish I could've gone exploring in the castle... ;)

Mr. Duck and the room0 by brainstorm 2014-12-29T16:39:00

Pretty nice! I gave up with the web version on level 3, mainly because the game was so freakin' slow. I then downloaded the desktop version, which was a lot better. The limited flight mechanic is really nice! I eventually gave up after trying level 7 (I think, it might have been 12 or something) about 20 times. Because I could not kill the little enemies, it became EXTREMELY hard to land on the platforms to recharge my flight. Very good overall, but the sharp difficulty spike makes it too difficult for my liking in the later levels.

0x2603 by Efuvex 2014-12-26T22:08:00

I get the name, it's the Unicode for the snowman :)
http://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/char/2603/index.htm

AntiPlane by Grenac 2014-12-27T20:35:00

Awesome all around! The one thing I noticed was that it is exceedingly hard to wall-jump onto high platforms, as in the race to the blue light. Other than that, there's nothing I wouldn't rate 5 stars.

Abelian by merrak 2014-12-08T05:28:00

Great idea and great execution. I love the transitions between the levels. I also like the audio, but I find it a bit hard on my ears. I'd try quieting it down somewhat.

Bionic Bliss by Mechamew 2014-12-31T03:42:00

LOL... I wish I had seen this before voting closed. I fixed everyone really well the first time through, then made everyone mad just for fun (except the cyber-chick, I got a date with her). Very funny game, and really well put together! :)

Blue Window by TyrusPeace 2014-12-24T19:00:00

Awesome concept! The window perspective is extremely clever, as is the activate/deactivate feature. Sometimes the window got in the way; it might be good to add a feature to hide it. I also couldn't find a way to get past the laser/ball level. Overall, a very creative entry!

Dot Dungeon by torcado 2014-12-08T06:15:00

I love the graphics, but I can't kill anything either...

Dot Dungeon by torcado 2014-12-08T07:14:00

Very, very good! The tiny graphics are awesome, the audio is great, and the gameplay is very fun. Overall, it seems perfect to me.

Snowman's Land: SNOVERCHILL by RHY3756547 2014-12-15T21:27:00

This is really great! The multiplayer makes it extremely fun to play, competing with the other players. The graphics are great, and the gameplay as well!

Snowman's Land: SNOVERCHILL by RHY3756547 2014-12-19T22:22:00

I don't stream video, but I managed to nail a 6x flip while Tech Valley Game Space (Omiya Games) was streaming :)

Snowman's Land: SNOVERCHILL by RHY3756547 2014-12-28T17:36:00

Just played it again, this time with the sound on :P Nice music, and great SFX!

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Ice Story ( koori monogatari 氷物語 ) by Christina Antoinette Neofotistou 2015-05-12T01:06:00

Very, very nice! The pixel graphics are lovely, and the music is the best GameBoy-style loop (loops?) I have ever heard. The gameplay was pretty cool, although it took me a little while to get used to the controls. Ice-balls aren't really an unconventional weapon IMHO, but that doesn't really matter, as the game is absolutely lovely. 5/5 overall!

Haven't a Clue by Hectate 2015-04-21T22:35:00

After playing through this a couple of times, I think I finally understand both the meaning of this game, and how An Unconventional Weapon fits in. :) Extremely innovative entry!

Star Driller Ultra by Omiya Games 2015-04-22T21:22:00

Awesome job for 48 hours! The graphics are really great, and the audio is nice as well. It was pretty fun, too, although it was practically impossible to avoid the bullets coming in from all directions. Maybe tone the action down a bit?

Velo-City by TeamEagle 2015-05-11T16:52:00

Awesome gameplay and graphics! It's so fun to try to beat the high score. One time I tried the "spinning in circles at the start" technique, but it only got me about 10k before I crashed. The only downside is that it doesn't seem to incorporate the theme well. It feels like a racing game, although I guess even those nowadays usually have weapons involved.... Wish I could vote 4.5 overall.

Caffeine Rush by Tommislav 2015-04-21T23:44:00

Interesting idea! The turning was a bit buggy (I once fell down to the robot while halfway through the game), but it worked smoothly most of the time. 4/5 overall.

Blackboard Wars by KedumeBits 2015-04-21T22:45:00

Nice entry! The graphics look great, and the gameplay is smooth. The one problem I had was that whenever a few spaceships got on screen at once, it resulted in an almost unavoidable flood of bullets. Other than that, a really nice game! 4/5

A Big Freakin' Ball O' Hurt by LMT 2015-04-21T20:17:00

An awesome entry for only three hours! It's a shame you didn't have more time than that. The graphics are really cute, and the gameplay feels well polished. I love how the ball's momentum pulls you along when you swing it around.

On a side note, it would be awesome if you could implement a Newgrounds leaderboard! :)

Crayon Poke by Raiyumi 2015-04-22T00:00:00

Wow! This is so good! The graphics are lovable, the music is cute, and the gameplay is difficult, but fun. :) Very polished for a three-day entry!

Dischord by Wefiends 2015-04-24T03:20:00

WOW. This is one of the best all-around LD games I've played so far! The concept is awesome, the execution is great, and the finished product is really fun. I kept forgetting the combinations as they were inching towards me, but eventually I beat the whole game. :)

Iridescent by PixlWalkr 2015-04-21T20:12:00

Very nice entry! The graphics are epic, and the crystal mechanic is really cool. The game feels somewhat short (which is to be expected from a compo entry), but it also feels very complete. Great work!

The Marshmallow with a Huge Friggin Gun by kantieno 2015-04-21T20:34:00

Pretty solid entry! I found the game a bit too easy when using the cat. The graphics are great, but I agree with Shimone that it could really use some SFX. 3/5 overall.

P.S. It seems similar to what I was trying to accomplish with my game. :)

Banana Republic by Saf 2015-04-21T21:15:00

Awesome game concept and graphics! The collision could be greatly improved, and I keep repeating level 2, even when I finish it. There's also a ground-pound animation left in there, from the Stencyl Platformer kit, I assume? 3/5 overall.

Savior by CarlsonAndPeeters 2015-04-21T23:34:00

Great job! I really like the handmade-style graphics. The control scheme seemed weird to me, but I enjoyed playing it. The physics seemed a little floaty to, but it helps with the feel of the game. Also, it may not be intentional, but the fact that you can stab zombies while hiding in a cabinet really helps. ;)

Love is a Weapon by MdotEdot 2015-04-21T20:09:00

I, like most of the others, don't really understand this game. It looks pretty nice, but it would be better if we had some explanation on how to play. :)

Bully Simulator by Pantelis Petsopoulos 2015-04-21T20:58:00

I don't really like bullying, even in a video game.... :'( The graphics are nice, though, and the audio too.

Rainyblow Bash by ceosol 2015-04-21T20:07:00

Intriguingly fun! You definitely succeeded at creating a bizarre, fast-paced action game. The graphics could be improved, but I know you didn't have much time for that.

Freddy's Challange by Shimone 2015-04-21T20:39:00

I tried playing the game, but it was somewhat laggy, which made it too hard for me. Oh well. The music and SFX are cool, and the graphics are really nice. I really like the angel when you die, too! :)

The Island by xWarZonex 2015-04-21T21:31:00

Pretty cool! I really like the music; I know that's something you enjoy creating. The graphics fit the game's style nicely. The story is kind of creepy, as I'm sure it's supposed to be. There were a few glitches; you can stick to walls/ceiling, and somehow I didn't die when my health was -450%. The boss fight was fun, but it could have been a little bit more challenging. A pretty solid entry altogether. 3/5

Flail Rider by jushii 2015-05-11T19:22:00

This is quite fun! I love the particle effects obtained by breaking objects. The invincibility powerup is fun, but it would have been better if there was a warning (either flashing screen or sound effect) when it is about to end. Great job overall!

Sock Ninja by monkeedude1212 2015-04-21T23:49:00

Nice one! One of the most fun 5 minutes I've ever spent. Graphics fit the style nicely!

Toaster Defense by ETHproductions 2015-04-21T22:40:00

Wow, thanks for all of the feedback! I'm glad you folks like it. :)

@CarlsonAndPeeters: Thanks for pointing that out! I've changed that now.

@KCrimson, Tommislav: Hadn't thought about adding in some more bready weapons. Thanks for the suggestion!

@Photon: I was planning to add in more enemies, but in the end, I ran out of time. :( Definitely going to add them in the post-comp version, though!

Toaster Defense by ETHproductions 2015-04-21T22:40:00

I'll try to play all of your games ASAP :)

The Attack of the recycling bins ! by Donni11 2015-04-21T20:23:00

PLEASE fix the fall-through-the-floor glitch ASAP. It completely ruins the game.

Thanks.

Giant Spiky Ball of Death by RobotHoboDanceParty 2015-05-11T19:07:00

Really fun entry! It was a bit hard at first, but once I got the hang of it, it was awesome. I like the music and the graphics, too.

P.S. This seems eerily similar to another entry: http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-32/?action=preview&uid=25578

Peashooting Funnel by klbrazil 2015-04-21T21:21:00

Pretty fun! I love the mechanics used here. The way I accomplished 2-player play was to have the ground player stand near the tower, shoot the watermelons when they were above him and the hamburgers before they got to him. Very nice overall; I rate it a 4/5.

Mutiny on Samovar V by Fabraz 2015-04-21T23:19:00

Awesome! I had fun just rotating and gravity-swapping by myself. I might try again with someone else. The graphics and music are great!

Hula Fighter by matt beckett 2015-04-21T20:43:00

Hahaha! That's one humorous entry. :) I love the music and dancy animations. The gameplay could use some more work, but other than that, an excellent entry.

Good's Out by SweatshopDev 2015-04-21T23:11:00

I had to borrow one of my brothers to play this (but of course, he didn't mind). Man, that was fun! One of the best entries I've seen thus far. The sloppy physics make everything even better. I would change the yellow items to some other color, such as green, as I thought at first that they could only score for yellow. But that was the only thing I didn't like about it. 5/5 all round!

Assimilator by Yondalor 2015-04-21T21:35:00

Wow. I think that was the shortest game I've ever played. It's a good start, but it could really use some more mechanics. Cute robot graphics, BTW.

SolSurvivor by Blobo 2015-05-11T17:01:00

Nice, solid entry! I like how the menu is basically a mini-tutorial on how to play.

I have to agree with the others, though, in that the difficulty is a bit to hard. I tried a couple times using all the planets and ended up with a score of 5 or 6 each time. I then tried spreading the planets around the sun in a small area, using the planet closest to the sun to obliterate the rest of the asteroids. This got me a score of 47, considerably better than the other attempts.

Overall, I think this deserves a rating of 3.5, but unfortunately that's not possible.

Taggit! by jfraser 2015-04-21T21:39:00

Cute little game! It feels well-rounded, although a little difficult. I love the concept and the graphics.

FIREFLY GUN ! by TRAB 2015-04-21T20:53:00

Pretty cool! I love the graphics and the audio. A couple of times, I spent several minutes wandering through the maze only to run into some monster and die. It would be nice to have a life system, so that you don't have to start over if you accidentally hit a monster. I would have liked to finish the game, but I don't have the patience today. 4/5 overall.

FIREFLY GUN ! by TRAB 2015-04-21T20:55:00

P.S. Try changing the embedded URL from 'http://www.stencyl.com/game/play/30546' to 'http://static.stencyl.com/games/30546-0.swf'. This will embed only the game, and not the entire webpage. ;)

Turbo Moon Hero by Photon 2015-04-20T16:36:00

Pretty nice! It does feel a little bit tricky to control the planet and the player simultaneously. However, it's a solid game for 48 hours.

P.S. If you change the embed URL to 'http://static.stencyl.com/games/30518-0.swf', you can embed the game without having a frame around it, as it does currently. :)

You stole some freezing device by FrozenCow 2015-05-01T02:45:00

Pretty cool! I like the graphic style. I couldn't quite figure out how to kill a heli, as I didn't have enough time before it passed me by. I'd like to see the finished version when it's ready.

LD33 — You are the Monster

First Person Giant Monster Game by Xanjos 2015-09-15T00:29:00

Very, very, very nice! This really deserves a post-jam version. I didn't find it immensely fun, but this was mainly because it was running at around 3 FPS on my laptop. The effects are epic, though! 4/5 overall.

Love at first sight by LMT 2015-08-25T20:16:00

Wow, what a great entry! Keeping the lovers apart is an incredibly innovative idea. The art and gameplay are excellent, but they could use the polish that comes from a few more days of work. 4.5/5 overall.

Hint: you can embed the game without the border if you use this URL: http://static.stencyl.com/games/31935-0.swf

Moon Base Shootout by Unept 2015-08-25T18:24:00

Very nice entry! I loved the gameplay, the art and the storyline. I would have loved some more puzzles with the broken windows, but overall, a great game for one weekend. 4.5/5

Nomzilla: Munching Mayhem by PixlWalkr 2015-08-25T21:02:00

Pretty nice! The graphics were great, and the people running around added a humorous touch. I do think it would be nice if there was a little more to the game, but it's great for 48 hours. Also, as it's hosted on Newgrounds, it's just begging for a leaderboard. ;) 4/5

Trick or Feast by kantieno 2015-08-25T20:36:00

This is a really cute game, but lacking in gameplay. Perhaps there could have been something that was trying to stop you. (Look out! An adult! AAAAAAAAAAHHH!) Some SFX would be nice, too. 3/5

Barrel Roll Ultra! by Saf 2015-08-25T21:38:00

Excellent, excellent work! The gameplay is nearly perfect, and the art and audio are awesome. It got a little hectic in the later levels, but then again, that's the point. ;) I'm glad you're planning to continue with this idea! 5/5

Monster Destroy Things by Cory Martin 2015-08-25T21:08:00

The graphics are great, the audio is great, the gameplay is great. Overall, just a great entry! 4.5/5

GhostMen by MdotEdot 2015-08-25T16:49:00

Interesting use of reverse Pac-Man! I think it would be great if the Pac-Man would move like in the original, using an AI. I also noticed I couldn't log in with my email address; maybe this was because I forgot my password from one of the older versions.

All in all, though, it's a great experiment! I'd love to see more multiplayer games from you. :)

Volcano Charge by Pantelis Petsopoulos 2015-08-25T20:56:00

The gameplay is challenging, but maybe a little too restrictive. I kept running off cliffs while trying to ram the enem- *uuh* good guys off.

The art is nice, but could be more descriptive. I could not tell what the enemy in the second level was (although from the sword-shing SFX, I'm guessing it was a samurai or similar).

I also think the "Press P to restart" should actually restart the level, not take you to the menu first. I love the SFX. 3.5/5 overall.

P.S. You can get rid of the border around the embedded game by using this URL: http://static.stencyl.com/games/31927-0.swf

Frankenstein: Do-It-Yourself! by t4u 2015-08-25T21:28:00

I agree with all the above comments; it's a good idea, but needs more elaboration. I think the upgrade/customize buttons need to be more obvious, as I didn't see them until I ran out of potions. 3/5

Crossy Chasm by ceosol 2015-08-25T17:22:00

Clever idea! I read the instructions before I started, which made it a whole lot easier. The art might use a little more contrast and range of color, but the animations were great. 4/5 overall.

The Banana Eater by Dizzyman572 2015-08-25T19:44:00

First of all, the music is genius. I was laughing out loud before I even started! Then I got into the gameplay, which is equally humorous. The crude graphics match the audio perfectly, and the level design is great. The movement could be a bit more polished, but overall, a great entry. 4/5

The Monster Inside by xWarZonex 2015-08-26T00:27:00

I personally think you nailed the Mood section of the rating. The audio is excellent, as you had hoped. The graphics are simple, but work very well with the rest of the game. The gameplay could be improved; sometimes not enough lights spawn within the rage to calm the monster, and the ones that do are difficult to collect. All in all, I think you did a great job bringing this concept to completion. 4.5/5

Labor Day the Game by hinerz 2015-09-12T21:45:00

Excellent entry! The theme is integrated very well. I found that I kept running out of workers, even after only killing the thieves, but perhaps I was just unlucky. Great graphics, though! 4.5/5 overall.

Blob by RougeRogue 2015-09-14T21:15:00

The idea behind this entry is great, as are the graphics. I didn't rate this in Overall or Fun out of respect for it being unfinished. Hopefully you can finish it up sometime soon!

Thanks for your comments, everybody! I'll make the particles smaller and semi-transparent in the post-jam version.

@merrak: Seems like Ludum Dare has a curse on all snowmen from now on. ;)

FBI Attack by Donni11 2015-08-25T20:40:00

The agents don't shoot, you don't die after 5 seconds, and the game crashes as soon as you hit an agent. This game is currently unplayable; please fix ASAP.

Fragmented Reality by merrak 2015-08-26T00:51:00

Wow. That is one of the most enthralling games I have ever played. The graphics are great, the music gets the player into the mood, and the storyline is killer. Literally. ;)

4.5/5 overall. It would be nice if there were a little more variety to the gameplay, but other than that, it's perfect.

Impassioned Fowl by Nebulaic Toaster 2015-08-26T00:37:00

Very entertaining! It does feel like staring into the minds of geese in flight. After a few rounds, I managed to get 70 before becoming overly anxious. 4.5/5 overall.

WEREDUDE by crazya 2015-09-14T21:22:00

Pretty nice entry! Shame it's so short...

Many Jumping Men Are Coming by tullyhansen 2015-08-25T19:51:00

Interesting idea! I had a pretty hard time hitting the jumping guys; my high score ended up being 2. It may be easier if you make the player taller, or have the men stand on the ground for a moment between jumps. 3.5/5 overall.

Lifes Decisions by squarepug 2015-09-12T20:08:00

Very nice! This seems like an excellent start to a longer game. I hope you are able to take this further after LD. :)

Tales of the Memory Dragon by raducumiczzz 2015-08-26T00:59:00

Interesting idea, sort of like a completely randomized Guitar Hero. It's pretty fun, but a little too challenging for the beginning player. I would suggest either starting with fewer heads or not switching them out as often towards the beginning. The graphics are great. 4/5

Bit by Bit by conrad123 2015-09-12T21:08:00

Nice little entry! The car is somewhat difficult to control, but I got the hang of it after a little while. It's not an incredibly innovative idea, but it's a good first entry. I also didn't feel like I was a monster (or even much of a hacker, at that); perhaps next time you should focus on creating an game that fits in better with the theme. 3/5 overall.

P.S. I like that you used Khan Academy for Ludum Dare. ;)

LD44 — Your life is currency

My Life is Not Currency by rjhelms 2019-05-21T19:27:53Z

Really enjoyed this game, though I agree that the enemies could be made more dangerous. Very well-rounded game in all categories too. Reminded me a lot of the old "The Grinch" game on the GameBoy Color, so it was particularly nostalgic for me

Robot Town by quadtree 2019-05-16T04:08:48Z

I'm pretty bad at FPS games in general, but I figured this one out pretty quickly. The trick is to upgrade the missile launcher so it can destroy everything around with one shot :-) I was stuck on those giant spike drone things on level 2 for a while, before I realized I was killing myself with those missiles... As @jordantanner said, it might be useful to display the cause of death, and set the health bar to 0 (right now it just freezes for a few seconds on death). Some ambient light would be nice too. Overall, nice job for a 48h solo entry!

Human, your life is currency by asfdfdfd 2019-05-16T03:26:57Z

Should've read the single line of instructions before starting ;) After 5 minutes of messing around I accidentally found the attack button, and it took me another 5 minutes to figure out how to get close enough to attack the human from behind. I agree that it's too easy to lose, the difficulty could use some work (especially getting seen by someone you can't see yourself).

Mani by Tex Killer 2019-05-20T16:22:06Z

I'd love to give feedback, but the game won't run well enough to judge it on my machine (Windows 7, 64-bit). The instant it opens, it consumes nearly 2GB of my 4GB RAM; several sprites, especially Mani's, show up as white boxes; and the music seems to spent most of its time looping in 2-second chunks. When I die, the transition to the "game over" screen is quite rough and seems to happen multiple times; when attempting to restart, it gets stuck on an all-white screen in the middle of the transition, looping a 0.25-second clip of music until I manage to kill the process. I wish I could see this game in its full glory, but right now that doesn't look possible.

Mani by Tex Killer 2019-05-20T17:53:51Z

No problem! I do have a fairly low-end graphics processor, in fact another entry I downloaded won't even open on account of not having enough graphics power. I suppose that's what I get for doing everything on an old laptop :P

Placeholder_Game_1 by NeitherNathan 2019-05-16T04:40:17Z

Well that was quite the experience! Took me about 15 tries to figure out how to do anything, and another 15 to get to the point where I could actually buy bullets. I actually lasted for over a minute on that last one, thanks to a very low ghost spawn rate. I had a weird amount of fun, but I think I'd have a lot more fun if the animals moved slower and the ghosts weren't so frequent at the beginning. Definitely up there in Humor though :-)
