Man, this game is oozing quality. Could definitely see it going full-scale and being awesome. Very suited for iOS.

Man, this game is oozing quality. Could definitely see it going full-scale and being awesome. Very suited for iOS.
Man, I love this idea. Such a great concept, and really well done too.
We really enjoyed playing this on our stream. Super cool concept and really fun to play! It seems like a lot of thought was put into the game design.
This was awesome. I saw your posts and thought the art looked fantastic, but the game design completely matches up. Awesome concept and great execution. The fact you did it all on your own too is pretty incredible. Great job, looking forward to more from you.
This is so freaking hilarious. Great take on the theme. Could've used some more instructions, but once I got it it was hard to stop laughing.
Awesome game, had a lot of fun playing it on the stream.
Genuinely think there's potential with this concept. I'd love to see it go somewhere.
Oh man, this is really hard. Really enjoyed the music. Could've used a few more response animations, sometimes it was hard to tell if I hit or missed a note. Also would've loved to see the falling bars skinned as aliens or something to match the theme, might've made it harder to correlate the notes though. Great job though, really impressive work.
This has the potential to become a serious addiction.
Wasn't able to get past the second stage, it seems like I reached the fail state for no reason, maybe I missed something. I liked the concept, wish I had gotten to play with it a bit more.
This is fun! Music might be a little to loud compared to everything. Could use some in game explanation of the controls. Well done.
Best LD game I've played so far. Serious props, keep it comin'!
Mechanic is awesome. Don't know you got this done for a jam.
Beautiful art, had a good time streaming it. I missed that you could buy more words in the shop and gave up on it too early so I won't count that against you. A really cool idea though.
Definitely one of the better games I've played. Great job!
Awesome concept. Had a lot of fun and I felt like you did a damn good job exploring the idea.
The art and animation is really oozing style here. The point and click mechanic is pretty interesting, reminds me of the 3d sonic games. The theme I think is a little bit of a stretch, but the game is good nonetheless so I won't fault you too much for it. Great job overall, the polish you got in such a short time is impressive.
Lovely game. I like to think i'm Kermit the frog going around murdering these poor campers. Wasn't very good at the game, but that didn't keep me from completely enjoying it.
Great game, though I only got one go at it because I couldn't figure out how to try again once I lost. That was probably my fault though so I won't hold it against the game. Good job!
Really enjoyed this on our stream. Great concept full of humor, and I really like the art style.
I loved the premise and interaction here. I wish there was more!
A really great game that kept me playing way more than I expected to. The progression system worked really well, though for the sake of the jam I wish I could've gotten more powerful, faster. Either way, great game, might be my favorite so far.
Really pretty game. Wish the text instructions didn't stay on screen the whole time, kind of ruined the beautiful sprites you made. Otherwise it was really fun until I felt like I was starting to get RSI.
This caught me by surprise and is now my favorite game in the Jam, seriously great job.
@dalbinblue I actually completely agree with all your points and totally wish the game was less easy to brute force. We went through a lot iterations that watered down some of elements we ended up on, but we're still happy with how it turned out. We're actually thinking of finishing it up for Halloween since it's coming up. Thanks for the feedback though, and don't feel bad about your honesty, we really appreciate it!
Really really well done and innovative. There were minor annoyances like the text speed, and it was a little hard to figure out what to do. Once I did though, it was a really great experience.
Incredibly well-polished game. Every action and reward felt really responsive and detailed. From the animations to the level structure, there was a lot of skill that went into making this game, and it really pays off for the player. Great job.
A fantastic and incredibly polished game! The way Ski Free should've always been :D
Really cool to hear you made this with your whole family. Not only that but it's a pretty cool game! It's also really adorable! Great job to everyone in the family :D
Cool idea. If the upgrade system worked a little better I think this could end up being incredibly fun.
A great mechanic, perfect for the theme. Overall really enjoyed it even with the broken end boss ;)
Cool game with a great take on the theme. I love that it's a monster in a monster costume.
Really tried to get into this one because of the lovely art, but it was too hard to even get past the first level. Something about the weight on the jump, and the unpredictability of the bullets made it a bit more frustrating than enjoyable for what the game asked of the player. Love being able to pick characters and would've loved to see more of the levels. Good job overall, I think everything could be fixed with a few number adjustments.
I really enjoyed where this was headed, but it was a little too hard to make it very far in. Feels like there might be some important animations missing to really understand cleary what is happening. Sometimes I felt like I was doing well and then the game over screen would show up. Definitely a lot of potential though.
Really fun game. The control bindings were a little awkward, but once I got the hang of it, it was really enjoyable.
An awesome game, with a more awesome soundtrack. Really great job, the names were a fantastic touch.
Yay, we finally got to play one of your games! This was great, loved the concept. This could easily be expanded on to be a really great arcade game!
It doesn't matter that you're 12, you made a fantastic game with a really innovative concept. Hope you keep making games!
I was honestly surprised by how much I enjoyed this. It seemed like a very simple premise, but once I got into it, the dynamic between eating the people and then avoiding them was really interesting. It's obviously not a fully formed game, but what was there was intriguing.
There was a lot to digest at the beginning since there's so much thrown at the player. With some better pacing this would be really great.
Really really innovative game, maybe a bit hard to get the hang of. The concept was great though.
Really adorable concept. Made me hungry for soup. Nice color palette and art style. Wish she didn't want to over s&p everything.
Really enjoyed this. The camera swivel was great, though I wish it centered the dino a little better. Controls felt a little weird, but maybe in a good way. Other than that a really impressive game :D
Didn't get to play this that much due to a bug that causes the character to move incredibly slowly when you fullscreen. Won't rate for now.
Great game even though you weren't really "the" monster. Had a surprising amount of fun primping up some ugly dudes.
Incredibly difficult, but crazy satisfying. A great metroid style progression, maybe a bit too hard too fast ;)
Man, I wouldn't have thought a game about using a lathe would be at all interesting, but you've definitely managed that here. Love the little bits of humor, and the wonderful art. Obviously a little repetitive, but honestly pretty satisfying.
Damn I feel so cheated! When you said this "suuucccks" on twitter I figured it was buggy or something, but this has been one of my favorite entries so far. Love the colors, and the tactile nature of the animations. The gameplay is a great combination of things. It feels really great to play. I'm sure you had great expectations for where this could go, but where it ended up definitely doesn't "suuuccck".
I can't say I really knew what I was doing, but it didn't really matter. It was all so satisfying and intense, the amount of polish you guys squeezed out of this in such a short time is really impressive. I only wish there was some way to control everything a little more precisely, but maybe I just need practice.
Man, this game is really pretty and what's there feels great. If you do continue this, make sure to make it so you can aim in a different direction than the one you're running in, makes it really hard to avoid enemy fire otherwise.
This game leaves an impression right away just cause of how cool it looks. Love all the particles, and the way the music matches the action, there's a lot of cool attention to detail. The progression felt a little weird, I almost wish it was an arena game, and you earned the transformations by clearing waves. Either way, really neat game, with a really charming aesthetic.
Saw a few screenshots of this and was pretty excited to try it. Love the art, the animation is really punchy. The game was fun once I got used to maneuvering between the two modes. I do think the mech suit was a little under powered, since the hit box more than doubles. Overall though, really cool example of how to make a game feel really responsive.
I think you pretty much got my thoughts from the stream, but i'll just say it again, I really like this game.
Had a really fun time running around punching dinos. Those spikes though!
Ha wow, once I figured it out it was actually really fun. Actually felt like I was fighting against this creature and trying to trick it. I love that the eyes convey almost everything you need to know, and there are little details that make it really satisfying to succeed.
Haha a good effort, I miss these kinds of games. Spent so long trying to get the required max air.
Not sure how this is shapeshifting, but who cares, this is really rad and totally impressive.
Really fun entry with a lot of polish. I don't have a lot of criticism and knowing this is a compo entry just makes it all the more impressive.
Beautiful colors & a very interesting concept! Cool way to interpret the theme, it felt like I was shifting my shape as well as shifting my perspective of the two dads.
Found myself playing this a lot more than I intended to. Impressed by the amount of battles you were able to make, and they were all pretty unique and required different strategies. The abilities were pretty oblique, but I really liked the idea of the animals having one particular type they feared. I also forgot to mention how awesome the art was! Really enjoyed this one.
Wish the instructions were in the game. Didn't realize you could switch the ball and almost gave up. Otherwise, an interesting take on Brick.
Really really interesting idea, and some really cool puzzles that result from it. The art is really nice, there's a lot of polish there for sure. The controls and handling of the character could definitely use some tuning, it's a bit floaty. I'd love to be able to press a button to switch back to the main character, since aiming the little floaty thing got annoying when I was constantly switching back to the cat. Overall, a really cool idea with a lot of potential.
Crashed right as I was getting into it, but what I played was a lot of fun.
Really interesting art style, and cool character designs. Wish you had implemented the theme a little more, since really it doesn't determine a whole lot which character you choose.
Had trouble getting past the mage. He does a ton of damage. Well done, it was definitely fun.
Played this one all the way through on stream so I think you know my general impression, but really cool game. One of the most thought out i've seen so far.
A really difficult game, but incredibly satisfying. Could use a little streamlining with the level design (which you did in the post jam version).
This is a really great and surprisingly complete game. I love the idea of Snakebird + Platforming. Made for some really fun discoveries.
I really liked this and would've played it for much longer if I wasn't streaming. A really cool idea that felt great to play. Obviously, some level design, more animations, and overall polish could've been great, but the fact that it works without those things is impressive. Great job.
Really cool concept. Felt good to plan ahead and try to make the longest chain possible.
I was surprised how well this worked despite how incredibly slowly it moved. In fact I don't think it would've worked if it went any faster. Sometimes the jump felt a little unresponsive, and some of the subtler rules went right over my head (like the way ghosting uses your momentum, or the fact you can't use it while touching a wall.) but overall a good entry.
Really liked where this was going until I got the little guy stuck behind a door and couldn't proceed :(
This will probably be the last game I play before judging ends, and it's a really great way to end it. Loved almost everything, the clever design choices, the amazing groovy music, and the amount of character put into the animations. Really really great job, one of my favorite games from the entire competition.
Cool concept! Only issue I had was switching into the Hovi guy made you move up a bit and that ended up causing me to get stuck in walls, or move upwards when I didn't want to.
Oh the triumph! Felt so good to finally take this dude down. Great job, really captured the spirit of a big boss fight.
Really cool concept. Wish the controls were a little more intuitive since I had to keep referring to this page to see what to do. Otherwise though, a cool compo entry with a lot of potential.
Really great art in this one. I like the shape shifting mechanic acting as the health, though maybe the animation is a little disruptive in the late game. Also, if I were to nit-pick, the BG could be a little more separate from the obstacles, since when it gets fast it gets hard to see them.
What a cool looking game. I didn't quite understand what the goal was, I think maybe it was just trying to survive for the longest time possible. Despite that, it was fun to play, and it always felt great when a new mech got delivered. Great job.
Not entirely sure this fits the theme greatly, but it was a really clever puzzle game. If you move forward with this I would definitely get rid of the free motion and make it tile based.
