I like the basic concept and the Plants vs Zombies thing you have going on. I think the game would've benefited considerably from having more information on the screen. Also, the clicking gets kind of hectic between collecting minerals and dropping in units. I think just requiring them to touch the mouse pointer might have made the controls feel less cramped.

Looks good though. I haven't used the framework you used but I'm assuming it's a lot tougher than using Unity!

Couldn't play :(. Missing a DLL. just letting you know

onlyslightly 2015-04-22 01:20

That was a really cool concept! It felt like a geological tower defense game.

manabreak 2015-04-22 04:17

Nice take on the tower defense genre, mate!

chippington 2015-04-22 04:31

I think splitting the game into two parts, like a "mineral collecting" section between all the "tower defense" sections would have been a better idea, since things get really hectic right off the bat.

A cool concept, but very tricky to play.

A bit too hard, but quite exciting! Having to gather resourcers so quickly while having to tecognize what towers to put for the enemies. Sometimes it is too confusing due to the huge amount of resources in screen. Maybe you could make them to appear less but require more clicks to collect them, it would saturate less the screen and may keep the feelof urgency.

pikmin4000 2015-04-22 22:31

Well is there an end? If not try adding a score board so I have some kind of goal. Anyways, it's a good concept and I feel pretty evil eliminating the dinosaurs >:)

hambone88 2015-04-22 22:33

Nope, no end. The score board is in the console. =)

dickie 2015-04-22 22:52

pretty cool, never had to multi task so much playing a game before which was quite the challange.

very functional but could do with some tlc in the polish/balancing side of things

acrimiens 2015-04-23 00:26

I like the concept, keep working on it!

richiebranson 2015-04-23 00:29

solid concept. Definitely reminds me of Plants vs. Zombies. I'd recommend maybe implementing keyboard controls to help select the volcanoes, but I guess that'd make the game too easy, lol. Good work.

elpaulo 2015-04-23 17:27

PvZ reference here :-)
You got a nice base to make something great !

keddelzz 2015-04-23 22:01

Simple but very cool game!

datamosh 2015-04-24 02:53

Quite fun, keep up the good work!

pvwradtke 2015-04-24 03:08

The game is a binary windows file, not web :). Can you add the source code? Wine can't run it, and a standard SDL2 program is not a problem if I have the source code to compile it :).

kinosawada 2015-04-24 03:56

Simple and cool! I liked ^^

ermrk 2015-04-24 22:10

Nice, it plays like Plants vs Zombies. There is too many of clicking and volcanoes could stay when they was placed.

andrewkennedy 2015-04-24 22:14

Neat idea, but it would have been nice if there was a bit more variety between the different volcanoes.

buzzwerd 2015-04-25 06:34

Genuinely think there's potential with this concept. I'd love to see it go somewhere.

deadbodyoutline 2015-04-26 22:19

Funny to play, and I didn't like Plants Vs. Zombies! Nice one dude!

Maybe if it start slow and increase its speed along the time could be funnier ;)

pietro-ferrantelli 2015-04-27 13:41

Pretty solid entry overall, and especially great fun ! Good job.

pietro-ferrantelli 2015-04-27 13:42

Pretty nice entry overall, and especially great fun ! I enjoyed playing this one. Good work !

nihilaleph 2015-04-28 23:31

Cool concept! It's hard and fun to keep up with recognizing dinos and best vulcan, but a bit tricky to click on everything so fast, maybe a better way to collect minerals and more infos on screen...

bizm 2015-05-01 18:51

Cool game! Very clever volcano-building mechanics. I think the dinos move a bit too quickly, though!

zerocreativity1 2015-05-04 03:42

Feel like the volcanoes should only go anyway when destroyed. fun little game, would be interesting with more content.

taro 2015-05-05 01:39

The game was too easy. Resources were incredibly generous, and dinos posed no threats. This makes the tower-defense portion of the game rather boring.

While I appreciate being able to place units right off the bat, I think a hefty amount of work should be focused on balancing the game such that the players sense some sort of threat. It might be a good idea to look into how to balance resources in games.

surpent 2015-05-07 03:39

Innovative concept.
The game is busy, I seek a more slow pace.
Fun The combination of puzzle elements.

team-ex-sword-stential 2015-05-08 08:52

Hello, Hambone! This is Taunia. :)

There is a lot of potential here to be more than just a PvZ "clone". I really liked the idea of having to collect certain types of minerals to build a certain type of volcano, and have that sort of science-y aspect to it.

That said, there wasn't any in-game instruction on what to gather to build what volcano, what each volcano was and how effective it was against each dinosaur. For a PvZ-style game, knowing exactly what item does what is a very important part of the entire idea -- otherwise you just end up putting pieces down haphazardly with no real rhyme or reason, and that can break your game.

I agree with another commenter that the entire mineral-gathering part of the game could most certainly be an entirely different part of the game. It doesn't have to be like collecting sunshine -- in fact, you could probably make a game with gameplay completely independent of a PvZ-style game and it would still be entertaining. I'd play it.

frederickk 2015-05-09 00:34

Time based turrets is new to me! I liked that!

smokecastles 2015-05-10 21:32

Really cool! Maybe more on-screen information would have been nice, but apart from that it was very enjoyable, nice basis for a real PvZ competitor!

phocker 2015-05-11 05:01

could not figure out at first - more instructions would help - nice effort
