LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

RELIC by CptDustmite 2015-04-23T11:01:00

Really nice universe you've created to tell your story in, I liked the depth of characterisation even though we were only with the characters for a couple minutes.

gameplay was a bit bland and could probably have been longer but due to the 'can't jump when rock is floating down' thing the platforming was unnecessarily difficult so appreciated it being so short as I didn't get too annoyed before the story wrapped itself up abruptly.

very nice branding and the other art was pretty nice to boot.

Dino Bros by josefnpat 2015-04-22T19:26:00

as much as i loved the derpy little breads maybe 100 was too many for this dinosaur to fight in one go.

enjoyed your fiction, you paid more attention to your world than most have even if it was about fussy eating dinos

genuinely laughed at points but the gameplay handled a little like ass which is a real shame, really wanted some castle crashers-y smashemup fun

Cube Wars by Hunter X 2015-04-20T03:23:00

pretty nice concept, well executed in the action/puzzels

whilst at first I thought it needed check points after I got significantly further through I started to have way more fun than I thought I would as it was genuinely tense, there was no way I was playing through all this again so I had to survive! but then I did die and I thought fuck it there's no way I'm sitting through the starting puzzel/wait again lol.

few polishing type features and I could see this being pretty darn fun if expanded

Rules of Paradox by OrangeeZ 2015-04-22T22:57:00

looks fantastical, nice animation too but yeah that control scheme just isn't working out for you.

click and drag to run? my control feels sad and neglected lol. but yeah if you'd of used a sensible input method or even just arrow keys to run would of been infinitely more fun to play.

also yay for checkpoint systems! you're one of the only games this jam i've seen have it, good job on that

Search & Destroy by highlyinteractive 2015-04-21T19:54:00

very original concept, one of the most interesting implementations of the theme I've played.

the search system introduces its own humor and tenseness to the combat though screw the bit by the server where you throw multiple enemies at once is very punishing

Lucid by rxi 2015-04-20T03:09:00

the atmosphere you created was awesome, really nicely done.

the graphics made the nostalgic yet the the warp felt really fresh.

I enjoyed playing though I will admit I rage quit when I died just a few too many times at the hands of the same flap flaps, I'll hopefully remember to have another go when I'm not so sleep deprived.

solid jam game!

Freeze Tank by Thijsku 2015-04-21T20:20:00

solid game, had quite a bit of fun playing it.

art work was killer, gameplay got a little stale a little quick but I think that was mainly due to just having 2 v 2.

another problem more players would have solved were your lanes which were a little less useful but I can see them mixing it up if you had a larger playing population so can't really fault you for that.

cute concept, well executed... just add a little speed boost to the tanks somehow

Freeze Tank by Thijsku 2015-04-21T20:21:00

also props for doing networking & and a good game in a jam

Twizards by Nonameghost 2015-04-20T03:45:00

Such a massive bummer that this isn't more finished, very interesting concept which I'd of been interested to see a bit more fleshed out.

pretty solid aesthetic to boot, keeping it simple and clean. It's pretty charming

Sky Sword by Yword 2015-04-20T23:38:00

I really didn't get what was going on, you should really include some instructions on what's going on. gameplay was a little obtuse, as soon as you fall off the bacon you're kind of fucked which isn't really fun.

graphics are awesome, really liked the sprite-y aesthetic, just a shame the gameplay was so frustrating.

Square Sprint by jackrugile 2015-04-20T02:57:00

solid gameplay idea, though I wish there was something trying to stop me/get in my way as, espcially with the last couple levels, I just button mashed my way through.

you're aesthetic was on point, wish there had be some sort of camera effect or variation in the blocks as they could of popped a bit more. Otherwise nice polish to the graphics which really blended well with the gamepaly

GAMUBòRU GUMBALL!! by Robber 2015-04-21T20:56:00

fucking awesome concept! love the fiction you've created, especially captain gumball in the driver seat, such a shame it's not more finished.

Really enjoyed what you guys have put together.

Manriki by FistBumpGames 2015-04-21T18:45:00

um couple technical things, first the whole right mouse button thing and second you didn't add in a death plane so you just fall forever if you're dumb enough to fall off

otherwise character looked killer, liked the origami concept and the pulsing sun was a nice effect.

enemies were a bit derp and when you hit them there didn't seem like much feedback to communicate to the character if you hit or could hit them.

The Panda Shoot n Scoot by ErikU 2015-04-20T03:36:00

well I've never played anything like that before, was a little skeptical at the beginning but you know what 360 noscoping a panda with bamboo shoots is damn fun

also interesting use of the unity default shader to make metal pandas. I didn't realise my graphics card could render that many bamboo shoots at once... and then I jumped and the world was way way larger than I thought it was.

if you paired up with an artist I could see you making some pretty fun/whimsical games

Soundwave Fields by Glitchy Pixel 2015-04-21T19:17:00

I have no idea what I just played, so many questions, why was there a business man in a field and why did the stone pillars hate him... ad infinitum

anyway I enjoyed it, the visuals were the selling point, that pixelated style was cool af. no idea how I was supposed to win though and put it mainly down to trial and error

Blanket Girl by Chippington 2015-04-21T18:01:00

yeah, I can't do that kind of platforming with a keyboard and mouse.

otherwise very cool looking game, the character art was killer and I liked the juxtoposition between that and the env art even if it was a bit incongruent.

blanket was a super cute choice though it didn't seem to have any relation or reason in the game. otherwise handled pretty well, sure I would of perceived with a controller. good job dudes.

DoubleNegative by Dickie 2015-04-27T20:50:00

Ah balls, I'm really sorry to Mac users but I have no way of testings, I'll try building again but without a Mac here I'm pretty stumped, sorry to the Apple users amongst us

Sheep by Cstudios 2015-04-22T22:02:00

managed to get through the first level, just about, though was frustrating. got onto the second level and after a couple tries pressed the wait button 25x times and the elevator was still going up... my RSI's to bad to be clicking the same button trip 50+ times.

otherwise nice concept, just needed a little better implementation i.e. view distance, I know it's kind of a trail and error game but that's not really fun that's just punishing the player and wasting their time if they have to watch this little bit play out then re put in a bunch of clicks just to get one click further.

cool aesthetic and I liked how the little tanky dude bobbed up and down.

PALBOT by Hot Box Games 2015-04-21T19:03:00

quite an impressive amount there for a jam, feels pretty fleshed out.

Idea's quite a good one but you guys needed a bit more time to balance the game. after a while I realised it was way way easier to just stroll past everything with basicly nothing giving chance.

otherwise add a bit of polish and you've basicly got a full game there

Stoned Scarecrow by gillenew 2015-04-22T22:14:00

feel like this game's a bit of a slow burn, like designed around someone playing it for a good hour before your even powerful enough to take on the hand bastards which isn't really idea for this kind of rating.

but with that said from what I've played the gameplay's pretty competent, really needs some polish/juice as yeah that cannon feels like a pea shooter and everything's just a bit bland feel wise.

visually really good job, loved the death animations of the spinny heads and the scarecrow just throwing himself off of the log.

but yeah optimize a little more for initial enjoyment otherwise you're xp bar's never going to incentivise people into continuing playing as they've already unlocked so much instead of thinking like 'sigh 5 more minutes before I can start doing any proper damage to those flying mushrooms'

Dinos Vs Volcanoes by Hambone 2015-04-22T22:52:00

pretty cool, never had to multi task so much playing a game before which was quite the challange.

very functional but could do with some tlc in the polish/balancing side of things

99 problems (and a bitch is one) by nassi 2015-04-20T23:08:00

fucking amazing, I've never laughed at an LD game so hard.

can't for the life of me beat it and took a while to realise what I was doing but yeah awesome themed idea. Real shame I couldn't get my thumbs to cooperate and rotate at the same pace.

would fondle again

Tactical Module Circullation Device by Deal With It 2015-04-21T18:36:00

so hard I threw my hands up in the air so hard the hit me in the balls on the way back down...

anyway, really enjoyed the aliens in tux's, found it very hard to check load out as well as not being chomped, would of been nice if you could of gotten the ammo type on the player or the gun so I didn't have to look away only to look back and my head was about to get nommed

otherwise pretty humours and fun lil game

Troll smakkin' by Shimmergloom 2015-04-22T19:02:00

really impressed with how much you got in your LD, the art style was very mice and polished especially the flame participle effect.

the gameplay was ok but not too captivating, with a little bit more play testing I think it could hold my attention a little longer

Triangular by pss 2015-04-21T18:24:00

the character controller certainly felt different, really felt like the canter of a fox just through the bouncy animation which was really nice.

Bravo for getting so much out of so little with the graphics, really well done on that monochrome forest.

gameplay didn't feel like it had too much meat to it, but for a first finished game it's solid.

NO TIME TO EXPLAIN: GET IN THE LLAMA by Nidar 2015-04-22T17:46:00

defo just lost a couple brains cells playing this, certainly enjoyable but kind of nothing past its initial shock laughter

relatively fun to play but yeah just not enough funnys beyond starting the game to hold up the gameplay being kinda bland

Lethal Throw by ermrk 2015-04-22T22:43:00

rather enjoyable and a pretty novel idea.

plays really well, simple and a smart amount of workload for a jam. Was a touch easy and could do with a slash of enemy variance but otherwise nicely pulled off

SUPER Kid by SuperKid 2015-04-20T23:27:00

totally didn't get that you were fighting your imagination but yeah guess that fits, wish you had made of the weapons a bit more imaginative though

the art was pretty cool, really jelled well together.
very competent game just need a little bit more juiciness to add a bit of fun into the mix

Hoard Hearder by QuestionableQuality 2015-04-21T20:09:00

there's no way you can complete that! bloody zombies!

still looks really cool, is an interesting concept of trying to get through a zombie hear pacifist mode/in a society without guns readily available.

reminiscent of the original GTA, shame the gameplay's not a little more fleshed out

Ex-Sword-Stential Crisis by Team Ex-Sword-Stential 2015-04-23T11:22:00

bummer first game I see with controller support and I'm at work without it. still lovely concept, the physics were suitably derpy and the aesthetic was really nice, reminded me of spyro era games

definitely very silly, enjoyed it.

Zoo Racing by refreshgames 2015-04-20T02:40:00

I enjoyed it, disappointed that I didn't get to see how badly I placed at the end.
feel like you could of balanced your time a little differently between the art and the gameplay as all the weapon systems are in but the only time I ever interacted with one was because I ran into it on purpose,
would of liked to see a bit of rubber banding as they all shot of and left me alone at the beginning but considering the time the AI was good enough
