Really like it! You choose the right sound effects, fits the music! The music is nice!

Some more juiciness tweaks and this could be a fun mobile game!

I finished in 07:43 with 374 clicks!

chadivision 2015-04-20 02:34

Very nice! I love the aesthetics. The subtle horizontal grain texture makes everything look really cool, and the sound effects really add the the overall feel.

phobos001 2015-04-20 02:36

Finally, a game where you play as a laser!

You did a very good job with the music, sounds, and graphics. It really made the already solid gameplay feel very pollished and satisfying! Fantastic work!

pauljs 2015-04-20 02:37

Nice, but this does not really respect the theme.

exilegl 2015-04-20 02:44

Won with 711 clicks and a time of 4:24. I was slightly stuck at the beginning while figuring things out, however, beyond that it was very fun and interesting. Great job.

kitch 2015-04-20 02:51

Screenshake. :)

Really cool game. Looks great, love the palette and grain.. And the music rocks.

I started off sort of slow, but once I figured I wasn't constrained to grid movement/collision, it was all on.

The mouse was really laggy for me, which is a shame, as that really took away from the core mechanics... but that could be something on my end.

502 with 301 Clicks...

Thanks!

dickie 2015-04-20 02:57

solid gameplay idea, though I wish there was something trying to stop me/get in my way as, espcially with the last couple levels, I just button mashed my way through.

you're aesthetic was on point, wish there had be some sort of camera effect or variation in the blocks as they could of popped a bit more. Otherwise nice polish to the graphics which really blended well with the gamepaly

time 3:58
clicks 285

lynx 2015-04-20 02:59

Overall a really astounding entry you have here! The graphics make my graphic designer inside me cry from the beauty, and the sound is superb. My only, ONLY suggestion is maybe start the timer after the player first clicks because I loaded up the game and before I had time to move the mouse in the proper window area, the timer was already ticking past 5 seconds... but then again, that's really more of personal problem I guess.

andrewkschwartz 2015-04-21 06:12

Could not get the game to play, no idea why. Music is great though

iaknihs 2015-04-21 06:17

4:10 , 242clicks.
This is fun. Everything comes together well. Simple mechanic, well executed.

jukimv1986 2015-04-21 10:57

Nice short game, interesting concept. I finished it in 5:31 and 422 clicks. The graphics are very well done, with the particles and the shake effects adding to the experience. However I find it not very much challenging, in the sense that there is nothing that avoids you achieving the goal easily. Maybe you could add a restricting dynamic, like number of clicks or something else which makes it more competitive. Otherwise you could change the audio effects to more relaxing ones and this would be quite a zen-like game. Great work!

gnx 2015-04-21 20:15

Really good production values here. Visuals & sound work really well and it feels like a polished game.

Mechnically the game is a bit bland and seems to mostly amount to clicking really fast.
Still, very nice effort and with some more work on the mechanic it could be a great game :)

garygreen 2015-04-21 20:23

7:21 in 306 clicks. That was fun. :-)

ehtd 2015-04-21 23:16

3:49 with 304 clicks. Fun game, add a post to twitter so people can challenge each other!

ruerob 2015-04-22 10:08

Very great entry I post my time later! at 4:12 I was in level 10/10. Had to leave the pc for now! Thank you for this graphics, sound gameplay, everything. It was very nice to play!

flummox2d 2015-04-22 16:58

Simple, minimalistic fun. Not sure how it fits the theme though. Good job anyway :)

foolmoron 2015-04-23 06:16

This game probably has the highest style to substance ratio of any game I've ever played. Awesome scanline filter and excellent screenshake and particles. Audio is flawless too. But there's no substance to the gameplay at all. Even if you're going for minimal time/clicks, it would basically just be an exercise in memorization. I want to feel more of your pixels and audio, but the gameplay is too lacking for me to want to replay it.

davikin92 2015-04-23 06:22

I liked it! I enjoyed the sound effects, especially the one for the warps, it does really sound like what I think a warp would be.

I could nearly hear an announcer's voice challenging me to finish the levels as quickly as possible, that would make it even more compelling. Thought of a time attack mode?

tselmek 2015-04-23 06:22

Pretty enjoyable game despite some intense lag at some points, but that might just be my internet. The mechanic could be a lot more explored with puzzles and new abilities. Clean graphics and great soundtrack.

ruerob 2015-04-23 07:35

So now I'm back! I needed 3:20 and 191 clicks! Awesome game!!!

frenchie 2015-04-23 07:41

You absolutely nailed the feel. Tearing through those squares was super satisfying. I just wish you had done something with the theme :(

bace1000 2015-04-23 15:39

Awesome!!!!!
280 clicks and 3:42 on my first go!

hexdie 2015-04-24 03:22

This is a very nice entry! Tons of polish and tons of juice. There are some very interesting mechanics. I love the art style and the music is fantastic. It also controls very nicely!

I would say that the only thing it's really lacking is some sort of challenge other than trying to get the least amount of time and clicks. Some ideas to add some challenge: 1) Player only gets a certain number of warps per level. That could vary per level and give it kind of puzzle feel. 2) Put things in the game that when you hit them, you have to restart the level. Perhaps those could move and you have to dodge them or move carefully. 3) Each block gives you some points but getting more blocks with one charge builds up a combo multiplier which would allow you to get a better score.

Those are just some ideas that came to mind. Overall, this was a very good entry and extremely polished. Nice work!

emmelineprufrock 2015-04-24 03:35

Like it aesthetically quite a bit. Also quite a lot of good feedback. Swiping squares across the screen feels quite powerful in the best way.

onlyslightly 2015-04-24 03:36

You've got a firm grasp of game feel. Every action has a ton of feedback to it. Every item on the screen is arranged beautifully, nothing static everything moved and felt alive. The audio was great, I felt the force behind me when I smashed through a ton of blocks at once. Great job!

paperblurt 2015-04-24 09:21

Kinda fresh and unconventional even if you don't include the theme.
Would like to see a post-compo version of this!

voider 2015-04-24 21:46

Amazing job on the graphics, sounds and effects. It is fun enough, but it has a lot of potential for more fun!

kate-kligman 2015-04-25 18:56

This is awesome! One of my favorite LD entries so far. Love the music, retro feel, and gameplay. Took me a minute to figure out the warp when I got stuck early on.

iceburg7 2015-04-26 03:53

Great entry! Something as simple as how the game graphically reacts to punching through blocks made this so much fun!

squarlboy 2015-04-26 04:48

Very fun, the sound effects are pretty crazy.

jmborden 2015-04-26 04:49

Wow this was a really great entry! Simple, easy to play and perfect sound effects. Very satisfying to take out lots of blocks at one time, sounds like a gun shot. Whats awesome about this entry is that it runs perfectly in Chrome, using just plain HTML5/JS! Great entry... can't believe this is a Compo entry!

hazel-bun 2015-04-26 05:03

Amazing entry!! Could easily see this on the App store :)

hexagore 2015-04-26 09:08

Fun this. Took me a few levels before I got into any sort of flow with it. Looks great, too :)

sebasrez 2015-04-26 15:38

Awesome job Jack, tis is a neat entry you have made that I think would work great in time trail type situations. I like the more narrow levels better than the larger ones (face) which I think plays better with the dashing and warping for speed.

dreyan 2015-04-26 22:05

Absolutely spot on. A game built around beating personal bests is a great way of getting replay value out of a short game like this, and it's damn fun which means I'm certainly going to be doing just that for quite a while. Kudos.

chuigum 2015-04-26 22:26

266 clicks with total time at 3:29. Very innovative, so original! Nice colors and again very cool idea. Cool music too, well done! :D

dreyan 2015-04-26 22:54

cogentinvalid 2015-04-26 22:56

Nice juice and polish! I got 2:58 in 204 clicks.

skiddings 2015-04-26 23:01

Dat screen shake. Also nice music and feel and looks great. Little on the easy side though.

iamacoconut 2015-04-27 01:03

This entry was really cool. It was a lot of fun smashing through those blocks! It'd be nice if you could add more of a challenge to the game. Cool entry!

sonderworks 2015-04-27 02:19

So simple, yet oddly satisfying. I love it. :D

nameoftheuser 2015-04-27 03:24

Pretty good, took me a while to get to the last level

evergreen-games-ludum-dare 2015-04-27 04:45

very solid entry! there needs to be more mechanics and variation. the graphics and audio are great. overall its just really satisfying! i got 2:51 with 265 clicks. did i get the high score?

junber 2015-04-27 05:39

Nice game. Very nice music and graphics. Got 03:15.

syncxzoz 2015-04-27 05:53

greate games!!! 03:57 , with 349 clicks... hope will add some background sound!

d-b-o-nstudios 2015-04-27 07:14

Loved it! One of the better ones I've played!

bitowl 2015-04-27 11:22

This game is lots of fun even with (or maybe because of) the simple concept. I really liked it!

thecams 2015-04-27 12:08

That was great! The music is really motivating. I can totally see more game modes, with chains or enemies that move around and you have to avoid. Great entry.

james12802 2015-04-27 18:45

Great fun and fast paced - would be great on mobile!

diningphilosopher 2015-04-27 20:02

Nice. 03:13, 202 clicks ;)

leaghorn 2015-04-28 19:54

Very fun to play but it has nothing to do with the theme.

jupiter_hadley 2015-04-29 01:30

Simple, neat little game! I included it in part 7 of my Ludum Dare 32 compilation video series, if you would like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/Cnio28O-EgI

kristof 2015-05-10 07:40

Very nice and polished presentation. The gameplay itself could have used some more variation. But I had a lot of fun!

jakob37 2015-05-10 09:31

Nice job with the visual and audiotive feedback on this! Felt good to blast away those squares. Would have been nice with some feedback on how good I was doing during the individual levels, for example "Aim to get under 50 clicks on this one...".

managore 2015-05-11 10:46

Very, very fun speed running game! The music and juice is incredible. My only complaint was that it was sometimes hard to find where you started, especially toward the end when the levels got very large. I managed to get a time of 2:29! http://puu.sh/hJg2H/6f4ab60340.jpg

oddballdave 2015-05-11 11:54

This has a very satisfying whoosh when moving. Really interesting idea. I felt it needed an online high score table, but a solid entry even without. Good stuff.

ajopart 2015-05-11 12:17

Only need more level to become a market ready game ! Great job. Music, sound, graphics meet the concept perfectly and form a certain harmony. Congrats ! Ho, and fun too. Really fun !

sergi-montaner 2015-05-11 12:19

At the beginning I didn't get it. But then, I enjoyed it very much.
The mechanic and the amazing sound effects give me the feeling of being powerful.

pixzleone 2015-05-11 12:20

Very cool graphics, loved the screenshake and lightning!
Keep it up!

Finished on 02:51 with 501 clicks!

zarkith 2015-05-11 13:06

Somehow I managed to beat it with 231 clicks in 02:31. O_o

This is exactly what I love to see from LD, fun games with super satisfying player feedback.

eemmbbeerr 2015-05-11 16:48

2:29, 487 clicks. Largest APM and new record in the comments!!! Khmmm.... I liked the music.

mossy-frog 2015-05-11 22:45

Very fun I don't know why but smashing those blocks is really satisfying. I missed the unconventional weapon however. Still a very polished game!
