One of my favorite LD entries. Fantastic game. Love the graphics, music, and sound fx. Hope you continue with this.

One of my favorite LD entries. Fantastic game. Love the graphics, music, and sound fx. Hope you continue with this.
Nice concept and fun to play. My first few shows were poor, but I liked the spectate feature. Would like to see more from this.
This is more fun than ET!
Enjoyed the gameplay, especially the splat on my first death. Nice graphics too.
The mood was great: I was nervous inching aross the rocks to the temple. I finally made it on the second try.
It reminded me of the old Tomb Raiders in spots, particularly when I couldn't climb the mountain on the right side of the temple. I had to work my way around.
The temple swayed a bit in the distance when walking as though the player might be drunk. This seemed funny given the serious mission of avoiding the sand worms.
Very fun, great concept and execution.
Interesting concept! While waiting for the sky to fall I managed to fall off the platform. :)

Love the concept and execution. Took me a few tries to find the killer!
This is very cool. Love the graphics and all you managed to do in 48 hours. Would like to play an expanded version at some point!
Quick and awesome.
It looks fun and I like what you've done with it so far.
Liked the music and the graphics. Nice game!
Great idea and very nicely done.
Great intro and opening sequence. Dodging enemies is fun. I had trouble with being mobbed by yellow fish. There's enough hp to eventually escape but it's difficult to recover from.
Loved this! Nice graphics, loved the intro sequences and pixel art. One of my favorite games for this LD.
Fun! Loved the humor. I had some difficulty accidentially switchng between asteroids by clicking on parts of the surface. Would like to see more from this entry.
Very nice for a 48 hour compo entry. Liked the graphics and the music. Gravity felt a bit funky/heavy but I got the hang of it after a few minutes of play.
Great job on the music! I liked the graphics too. The game is fun.
Interesting and fun. Took me a couple games to realize why I died. Would be cool if there were things to discover each level.
I felt bad playing this game. :) Slow but good gameplay. Like the Atari cartridge pic above.
This is a neat idea and a tight game. I felt a bit of disconnect between picking the right colors and the object disappearing, but otherwise had a great time playing.
The first generated level I played reminded me of level 2-1 in Super Mario. :) Fun game, a little bare, but could fill out nicely with some polish. Would like to see more.
This is my favorite type of game. :)
Enjoyed the graphics especially the sunrise and sunset. The little monsters are cute. I felt like there should have been a cursor to mark build spots but it's a minor detail.
I love the build and defend mechanic. I felt a little bad sacrificing the villagers with the small houses early on, but it was fun to build more fancy stuff later.
Hope you do more with this.
Unsure what the shield did (or maybe I didn't survive long enough to use it). Like the concept, good use of the theme. I liked that the water seemed to get darker the further the player descended. The sound worked well with the gameplay too.
Loved the shadows and the music.
One of my favorite games from this LD. Good early game balance between the upgrades and gameplay. I got to the end but I don't think I won...
Made it to the end! This is a nice and quick little adventure game.
The navigation felt a little rough and I'm not sure if anything could be done out of sequence or incorrectly. For example: losing after being electrocuted by the battery charger.
Overall: great job completing all this in two days!
Enjoyed the retro feel to the game. The level generation is sometimes difficult but the game is still fun. Good adaptation of the theme.
Liked the concept, would like to see more levels.
Awesome idea! Love the concept and the music. I appear to be very bad at this, but I love playing it.
Cool concept. I had some issues with the controls, for example I accidentally hit command-a (on a mac) and I couldn't regain control of the game. The trade route menus were also a little confusing.
I liked the financial and exploration aspects the most. This is my favorite type of game, I would love to see more if you continue it.
Trippy! Liked the graphics of the planets in the background. Music was interesting, the narration worked with the drumbeat.
Interesting puzzle game and good use of the theme. First level took me a couple tries to get the hang of it. My only nit is that the planets didn't explode when I crashed asteroids into them. :)
Interesting game. The crafting controls feel like they need more polish, but this is good for a 48-hour compo. The tree things would also grow by me unexpectedly. Great concept, would look forward to seeing an expansion on this.
Thanks for all the comments. I've added a post-competition version that fixes the laser, uses a custom cursor, and reworks the spawning a bit.
Loved the game, music was great too. I know it's a LD (so limited content), but I wanted to play more after the game ended. :)
Great concept for the theme, was fun to zip around. I tried to find a sun to crash into but alas.
lol @JamesRossi
It's a cute concept and I like the sketchy graphics/animations. Congrats on finishing also, I got stuck for awhile too.
Liked the music, the puzzles are fun.
Loved the concept and how it worked with the theme! Graphics are cutely simple.
Had some issues with the controls my first game, but I could see this working well with the keys mapped to an xbox controller. Also had some gameplay issues: I was unable to enter the color world after staying too long on the right side so I couldn't complete the second jump puzzle.
Overall it's a good game demo, the cross-world puzzles are neat, and I would love to play more with some additional polish. This is really good for for a 48-hour jam.
That was tough! Love the graphics.
Fun game, I liked the orbital mechanics and concept.
This is delightful! Love the retro look and feel. I wanted to move faster than the game seemed to allow, but it's a minor nit. The game is fun.
This is a very neat interpretation of the theme.
Cool idea, fun to play. The audio really worked well with this.
Loved it! Love the graphics and music, especially during the slowdowns.
Minor nit: the background (non-interactive) rocks were a little funky contrast wise when navigating the real rocks.
Anyway -- what a fun concept! One of my favorite games this LD.
Love the concept, the music, and where this is going. It's a cool idea.
Okay, this is great. I love how the first guy just drops dead with blood shooting out. Good controls, funny concept, and the game reminds me of the opening of half life 1 for some reason.
I don't know what I just played but it was a lot of fun! I liked the graphics effects with the streaks.
Liked the pixel art graphics. Had some difficulty with the controls at first, but once I got into playing it sort of worked out.
Sounds cool, would still like to see a post-compo version here after the scoring period ends. :)
This is very unique and original. Love the effort you put into this, it's a beautiful game.
This is a clever game. I like the expression on the thief's face. Took a slight bit of trial and error to get the hang of where the thief will go.
Interesting use of the theme. I like the gameplay and mood.
I like the screaming, also, I didn't realize I was a large mosquito until I was near the two men. I have an Oculus, will be interested in trying the VR version!
I'm away on vacation without my rift, but if you leave it up, I'll play it when I get back!
This is beautiful and a lot of fun. Congrats on your engagement!
Love the micro-graphics!
I'm getting a 404 on the drop box link.
I really enjoyed this game! Great graphics and mood, especially the music.
This was fun! Enjoyed the concept, music, and sound design.
I liked the cloud visibility concept. It gets hard fairly quickly once the eye is introduced!
I got ending 3!
That was fun, I should have anticipated the ending more. :-)
I can't seem to get this to load in mac/chrome.
Loved the implementation of the theme! Liked the graphics and music too. This is a really all-around solid entry.
I liked the mysterious elements to it and the effects.
I can't seem to get the play button to work on the web version.
I'm getting a 403 on drop box.
I love the expanding view when the player first emerges from the starting house -- it's a wow moment. Seeing the entire world on one screen really works well for this game. I like the colorful micro-graphics too, I just wish they were a tiny bit larger on my display to help prevent eyestrain. Overall, great job with this!
I liked the variety of monsters as the game progressed! I forgot to level up, then later found it impossible to die.
Wow I love this. Behold my beautiful art:
https://www.flickr.com/search/?tags=ludumdare31
A+++ would play again.
That was fun. Given all the blood I guess they are throwing ice balls! The audio was cute. :)
It's a good holiday puzzle game. It has a nice bit of advent calendar feel to it too.
Love this. I don't even. Snowman. Cobra War.
I had some issues running it initially on Mac / Chrome, but after using the flash menu option "Show All" I got it working.
Overall, it's a fun puzzle concept, I like the mechanics, and the sound effects mesh well. I'd love to play something like this on a tablet during an early morning commute.
Love the sword fighting combat mechanics! The teleport is fun too.
Thank you, this should now be fixed!
mrexcessive:
Thanks for playing! :) Try continuously holding the up key when you're jumping towards the clouds from the highest tree. It will float you a bit. I'm on Windows 8.1/Chrome myself and able to make the jumps.
Really enjoyed this entry. I especially liked the background art, the sun, and the dragon animations. I think it's fine that it's more of experience -- it's a good one!
Love the animated text walls and the binding of isaac feel. The music works too. Fun game, it's like a mash-up of good stuff into something new.
I love this type of game, I like where this is going, and I'm looking forward to seeing further developments. The music is trippy!
I like the maze concept and the glow effects. I had some difficulty with the contrast of the ship at first.
When I try to download it, I get: Error
Something went wrong. Don't worry, your files are still safe and the Dropboxers have been notified. Check out our Help Center and forums for help, or head back to home.
This was fun! Love the use of the theme and the humor.
What a great idea. I'm not very good at this but it's fun to play.
Loved this! It's great!
Also, it's a minute later and I'm...dizzy...huh.
Love the retro / frogger-like aspect! It's hard!
I loved this, especially the graphics and music. The theater concept is great.
I was able to find my character after a minute or so of looking. I like the colorful micro-graphics, I just wish everything was a tiny bit larger.
Overall, very original and challenging.
That was cute -- I like that the cats are the villains.
One of my favorite games so far from this Ludum Dare. Love the simple visuals and the red monsters. Love the animations and the 2d-ish aspect of the world.
Love the graphics!
I can't seem to connect to the server. :-(
Love it! My favorite bits are the movement/magboots and the zero gravity. Fun use of the theme.
The music is intense. I liked the minimalistic concept! I had some trouble figuring out what to do, I was able to travel to two regions but there wasn't much feedback when using the context menu options.
I liked the Christmas lights on the display panel and being able to shoot multiple elves at a time. The ammo felt a little buggy. Hope you are feeling better!
Love the 2d point-and-click aspect. The jump spins and the flying birds are fun.
The graphics really work well with the concept. Great job!
I really liked it. Very original!
Like the graphics and the concept. Good use of the theme.
I like the simple placement of the title and author information -- was neat to realize suddenly realize I was actually in the game already.
Cool concept! Interesting music! It reminds me of surgeon simulator for pc's, but a little more jammin.
Loved this!
Entertaining, especially the hair drier.
Love this!
This very vaguely reminds me of a game called elevator action from back in the atari days. I like the retro look and feel.
I like the graphics and the fast gameplay. The mood is really intense.
Good game.
It *is* fun to fiddle with the control panel and listen to the sounds. I think I took a record for the fastest meltdown. :-D
This is beautiful. Love the graphics, music, and overall theme. It took me a little while to find the player on my display.
Love the concept of this. My fish didn't go to heaven, though. :(
I love the transition effects for each scene. And the graphics. You are very talented!
It looks cool, I'm just not sure what to do except watch it grow. I guess that's how fungus is, though?
Enjoyed playing this on android chrome.
Love the graphics and the humor. The game lives up to its name!
Love the concept and execution on this, and the space portal graphics. It's fun! I like the audio messages too.
Your link redirects to: http://sparkedstudios.co.uk/cgi-sys/suspendedpage.cgi
Wow, the loved the lighting, animations, and mood. This is very cool.
The loading takes a bit, would suggest adding a loading status bar.
The game was fun and maybe the girl is from kill bill! The commentary mechanic was interesting.
I like the idea behind this game and where it's going. I think I broke a lot of the glasses.
Very cool! Love the weapon, I felt like Indiana Jones in reverse. The enemies flying apart looks great and is satisfying. Suggestion: The intro text passed too quickly for me to finish reading -- could possibly use a click mechanism.
I tried playing it on my samsung galaxy s4 and I wasn't able to get past the first menu except when game over screen would show randomly. I was able to see a tiny bit more on my macbook pro, but as you said it's not really playable on desktop. This seems like a cool concept, would be neat to see it go further.
Loved the audio and the flashlight effect. Your writing really captured the moments. I remember seeing my first tornado in person. It was terrifying even though it was far away.
Getting the wave control aimed is challenging and I like the game's premise. When the screen starts to crowd full of enemies it feels like patience and targeting is the game's most important mechanic.
This is awesome! One of my favorite LD entries so far. Love the music, retro feel, and gameplay. Took me a minute to figure out the warp when I got stuck early on.
Beautiful visuals and good music. Hope you're able to continue with the game.
Neat concept, it's fun!
I love the format of this game! Would suggest keymapping to the vi keys also (ex nethack), though I did get my full keyboard out just to play this. :)
I had some weird issues with keyboard lag, but I was able to fight a few of the monsters. Cool mechanic idea with the crafting.
Loved the message! Good humor too.
Aside from reading your introduction, I wasn't sure what I was building for the most part until the ramp started appearing. The items in the carts looked like they were carrying people?
I like the management aspects to this game and it's fun to sit back and watch the people build the ramp.
This looks cool, but the color choice is too difficult to read on my macbook pro retina display.
Love the game's format, mood and audio. The real-life wikipedia links are a nice touch. :-) Would like to see a post-comp of this that takes it further.
This is fun! I love the subtle changes in the background and the crowds of cards on each side. Feels like an oddly pushy brawl.
Not sure what happened here, did I win? https://www.flickr.com/photos/katekligman/17079168398/
Had a little trouble with weapons when running this on bootcamp w/a magic mouse. I liked the mechanics and the music is awesome!
Beautiful game! Love the graphics and music. The rocky rotating earth looks superb. Nice polish!
This was fun to play and I liked the achievements. ChoiceScript looks really interesting too!
Very awesome! Love the music and platform visuals.
I liked the camera movement and how the screen eventually centered on the player as they moved around.
I used an xbox controller and wore out my hand trying to pull my first fish out of the water.
Good job and good use of the theme!
Like the mood, audio, and jumping mechanic. Would love to see a post-comp version of this.
I really like the navigation with this, it feels very eye-of-the-beholdery. Good use of the theme!
Enjoyed the gameplay and format! I like your choice of unconventional weapon.
I liked the unconventional weapon. The depth perception from the pillars and shooting controls were hard to work with at times, but it was fun to catapult items at the creatures. Nice audio.
Great graphics and music! Found it a bit difficult, but I like the gameplay mechanic.
Loved the art and music! Cool concept!
I couldn't get the enemies to spawn on the web version with chrome/macbook air. The planet hopping is a cool mechanic though!
I thought internet ads would do it for sure! Love the idea behind this game, hope you take it further.
Enjoyed this! Loved watching the invaders advance. Great music and good use of color.
This is a good first ld game! I like the debris gun concept and it's fun to collect them & shoot it.
Loved the graphics and feel of this. It's fun!
I love this concept! Original! Lovely art too.
Loved the concept. Very funny. :)
Enjoyed turning into a scorpion. :) Interesting adventure and the length of the game felt about right.
This is a great idea, cool game!
I liked the music and the detective aspects of the story. It was short enough to hold my attention and long enough to feel like a complete game.
Creepy and disjointed -- the mood and incentive to see what happens next is a really strong point in the gameplay.
Music and sound were great. Enjoyed the gameplay too.
Great music and effects. Game was a bit hard!
Loved the voice & music.
I liked the puzzle mechanics and simplicity. Great mood with the music. Overall this felt more like a complete game than a prototype.
I like the pacing and enemy spawns. This is fun!
Short but entertaining.
I like the mechanic! Great idea.
Not sure how to jump?
I liked the concept! Would love to see a post-comp version of this.
An indicator to know which player I am would be helpful. Cool idea and implementation.
I liked the sense of time built into the game. Reminds me a little of the old Ultima mechanics.
Love the format and the music!
Would like to see a post-comp version of this! I didn't know how to play what was there, though it did look intriguing.
- It wasn't immediately clear to me the game had started, but having the credits as an intro is very clever. - Love the motion of the worm squeezing through narrow spaces. - The transitions were unexpected and wonderful. Loved playing as different creatures. The ending is perfect!
I like the idea of this -- it's an interesting take on global warming except it's more like global sizing? Losing was fun and strangely satisfying: watching the earth get larger and larger made me want to see what would happen. Screen Shot 2017-05-14 at 2.24.46 PM.png
I live in San Francisco and this is 100% legit.
- Love the intro screen -- it has such a classic NES feel to it. - The flag and the use of hills gives this a Mario vibe. - Love the mechanic of being blown off-stage at the end of each level. - I know the controls can be remapped, but I would suggest changing the default control for jump from left CTRL to spacebar.
I like the concept and the graphics, it feels very sim-earth-like to me. The moving stars were a nice touch at first, but a bit dizzying after repeated play. Great use of the theme!
- Enjoyed the inventory mechanic, it made the planet (?) exploration more satisfying. - Playing on OS X with a late 2013 Macbook Pro I felt like I was losing frames, which made the jumps jittery. I've seen a few other Java games this LD that didn't have this issue, so it's possibly fixable (or smoothable). - I liked the overworld map on the lower right. I got lost in the big sun(?) and was able to navigate my way out with it.
Clever use of the theme! I play in grayscale and had some difficulty distinguishing between the red and the green cells. Enjoyed the mechanics, reminds me of microsurgeon for the Intellivision.
- +1 for a clear feature. - I like that it doesn't have sound or FX, but maybe a satisfying noise when parts are fit into place could work. - I know close to nothing about transistors and circuit design. It took me awhile to pass the first level and a bit of trial and error to figure out how the bridge worked, even with the manual. My mistake was trying to run wire from the top to the bottom point of the bridge, rather than just using the contact points. Even though you illustrated it. :P
Overall this game is both challenging and educational, both in good ways. I spent about an hour playing, and I will probably put more time into it later. Hope you continue with this!
I would buy this if you built a post-comp version! I love the concept and prototype. I wasn't able to win, but it didn't matter, it was fun. Please continue!
Love the title, also the intro puzzle and getting out of the cage is very well-done. After I rolled off the table I kept going right and kind of floated bounced on what looked like endless thumbtacks. Overall, I loved this entry.
I played the flash version. Interesting game -- had some difficulty with object gathering at first because I think I picked up trash as my first items. The health bar also wouldn't re-fill 100% after I re-entered the dome. Overall this is a very soothing game and it's fun to gather the objects.
I started playing on Itch on OS X / Safari. I had some difficulty with the window size. I then tried to get the Indiexpo standalone player, but it was only for windows (the download button indicates combined with OS X tho...). I finally went with Kongregate.
This definitely has a board game feel to it, and the mechanic reminds me of Forbidden Island. I like the multi-character puzzle-like aspects and the overall mission is fun. I drowned about half of the island befoe I got a hang on the controls, though. This game is incredibly polished for such a short competition. Would love to see this as a board game.
- Love the art. Reminds me of Maniac Mansion for the classic NES! - Messaging interface is smooth too. During first message with cousin Lisa she's talking about her Dad quite a bit but the option says Uncle, which is a little confusing. - The background music is fantastic.
Overall, loved this, one of the best games I've played so far in this jam.
Played this on OS X.
1) I liked that you had a loader before the game started to tweak visual settings. 2) Great font! Reminds me of tempest! 3) Loved the gameplay -- the physics and spider flight are fun! This reminds me of a throwback arcacde game in all the right ways. The spider animation has just the right amount of detail. 4) MUSIC 100% AMAZING!
This is so great! Love the premise, Atari 5200 style graphics and gameplay, and the music. Would love to see a post-comp version of this with more depth.
Please post a mac version! :)
Thanks for the mac build! Working fine on my late 2013 Macbook Pro!
- I can't seem to jump on the overworld even though the instructions seem to say I can. After playing for a bit I get it now, but the entry area is so pretty I feel like I should have full range of motion. Love the island scenery.
- Also, I got stuck in a rock on my first try. Ahh.
- The mini-games are fanatastic and I love the simplicity and classic NES feel to them.
This is one of my favorite LD 38 entries, it's very well done. :)
Hey, it shipped! :) I like the background, it gives the impression the user is on a counter-top or kitchen-like floor area and makes it easy to see the ants. The gameplay is simple and works.
FYI the game was a bit slow on my late 2013 Macbook Pro running Bootcamp / Windows 7 Pro.
The intro was lovely and well paced. I would suggest increasing the font size of the intro text.
The graphics were beautiful and the landscape gorgeous. It wasn't exactly clear what to do, but I would love to see a more fleshed out version of this post comp.
- I liked the art! It's handrawn! Obviously! And it works! - The music is so soothing. I've been playing LD entries all day getting beeped, bopped, and screetched at, and this makes up for it. - Playing on OS X / Safari on a late 2013 Macbook Pro, the background is a bit stuttery during jumps which makes it hard to read the floating text. My suggestion would be to position it a bit lower and 100% visible from ground level so the player doesn't have to jump to see it.
Overall lovely game, hope to see a post-comp version of this!
I played this on OS X / Safari in single player.
- The simplistic unambiguous graphics worked well for the game, it was very clear what to do. - I wanted to jump, but the vines worked well! - The mechanic is fun and reminds me of the Luminosity coffee maker game.
Overall, great entry, especially loved the music.
Great gameplay and polish. The graphics and UI layout are nice too -- I especially liked the moving clouds, hud, and the intro fonts.
I loved it! The gameplay was fun and I enjoyed abducting the cows as much as the people.
@endlessplumber Thank you for the detailed feedback and the screencap! Completely agree on the dismemberment.
@ironchest: Thank you!
Thanks everyone for the feedback! I'm playing all of the games left by commenters that I can access (please put your game link in your profile description if you're not a team leader). If your platform is Windows-only I'll play your games on Monday/Tuesday.
@wtoa We made the game in Python 3. It's running on an Ubuntu Amazon Lightsail instance.
This is really cool!
Love the co-op and the overall use of the theme. The 2d zoom effects and rotations work well too, though they make me a little nauseous after playing for awhile. I love toasting the earth. :) Great job!
Enjoyed this! The research added depth and I liked having to be a bit shady when starting out.
Enjoyed the options! I died with the catapult the first time around which was funny. Made it the second time.
Screen Shot 2017-05-14 at 1.25.55 PM.png
I liked the overall concept for this game. It feels like an interactive board game. One suggestion would be to incorporate the mouse into the game to make it more intuitive.
Enjoyed the strategy and gameplay. This could be really fun as a co-op.
- Very clear instructions. I was interested in playing the board game version even before the game started. :)
- I was relieved when when enemies would miss, but it took me a few games before I wasn't killed almost immediately.
- The crisis cards definitely added flavor and broke things up a bit.
- Would suggest adding tooltips on the ships and making the date a bit more visible. It also wasn't clear at first when the enemy ship would start attacking.
- Would also be fun to see where the population is concentrated. Near the end of one of my more successful games almost everything got bombed away but my population was still quite high and seemed to increase. bombed_off_map.png
- The end-game is fun! After I stopped generating metal I held out much longer than I expected thanks to the bomb cards.
pallas_2064.png
Fun game! I'm playing on OS X / Safari. It took me a few tries to get used to the mouse cursor placement of objects, but after that I finished the first scenario fairly quickly. I love the simplicity and the pixel graphics. It's especially nice to see the population using the houses and roads. The UI could use polish, but this is an exceptional game for a weekend jam.
- The intro was solid and worked. The game is called ducktron, but it wasn't until I started playing past the intro that it hit me the game was going to be about ducks. :) - Love the chess-board feel of the game. - Great job on the music and FX too. - The gameplay is fun and pecking feels satisfying.
Would love to play a more fleshed out version of this post-comp!
Very soothing to play! Thanks for releasing this.
Love these style of games, and the humor with the spider was great. The joystick at the bottom is a nice touch too. Great job!
Love the small world concept and use of the theme, which makes flying a challenge. The bird strikes are a nice touch too.
Funny but a bit difficult at first, it took me a few attempts to conquer a sandwich without getting swatted. I like the graphics and the concept. It would be cool if the up arrow also allows the player to take off in addition to flying up.
- Great intro! Loved the voice over and the overall presentation. - If you press the space bar while jumping the jumps seem to come up short and stiff, particuarly with running jumps. I found just using the arrow keys works a bit better. - I liked the player character's graphics.
Overall great job for your 2nd LD! Looking forward to playing more of your games in future events.
Funny intro dialog and the agent sunglasses work well with the graphics to add humor. I also like that I can skip the driving intro. Hope you continue with this post-comp!
Difficult but moody. I liked the music!
I played the OS X version. The background flowers and gameplay perspective is engaging and well done. Hope you continue with this.
This is a clever take on the astroid (or planet x!) crashing into earth scenario. Except it's the sun! This is a fun unique puzzle game.
This is great! I love the paper images, especially at the end when they come apart. Great story & finish and clever use of the theme too -- it really is a small world!
I played the version of the game produced during LD38.
- I liked the positioning of the intro text, but it was a tiny bit small and reading it involved some gymnastics.
- LOVED THE VIEW! Jetting from planet to planet and then looking "up" made the game.
- At first I wanted to be able to run on the planets, but then I got used to the speed. It reminds me of watching moonwalks.
- Walking from day to night on the tree planet was a neat experience. You really captured the beauty of it. This was my favorite moment: blocknauts-favorite.png
- I also liked how the character was re-positioned during landing. I struggled with the camera alignment while jetting around, so I'd feel like I was constantly mid-crash, but then my character would finish the move gracefully.
- BUG-REPORT: Immolation didn't work as expected. blocknauts-immolation.png
- The intro pacing & zooms are well done, so is the brief tutorial that meshes with the gameplay. - It's fun to roll around as a square. I like how most objects shake after jumps. - The color / gameplay transition on the staircase to the cantina is cool. - Great use of humor, two doorways: one for giants, one for regular squares, the ending, etc.
I really enjoyed this circular-endless runner. Clever use of the theme.
- Graphics are simple but sharp. - Gameplay is fun and the difficulty increases are well measured over time. - Great music.
- This is really fun! I love the concept of teleporting around to different areas and exploring planets. It kind of reminds me of Starflight. - The controls took a bit to figure out. I like being able to use the mouse to target shots. The enemies were quite fast though. - The action happened so quickly it took me a few deaths to realize I had died and respawned.
Hope you continue with this after the jam, it's a great concept for a game.
- I liked being able to toss unicorn-cows? at the aliens. - Struggled a little at first to figure out how to play. - I liked the friendly fire concept with the gameplay. Early on I shot a car into a space cow and watched it tumble away. - I could keep playing sort of (in the background) after I killed the earth with my lack of space sling-shot competence.
Overall, good job, this is a fun casual game.
This is a cool puzzle game. It's compact, but challenging in the right spots. I feel like the difficulty increases sharply between levels 1 and 2, but it wasn't too much of a stretch to figure things out. Agree with the above commenter a zoom-out would be nice, but things work as they are and add to the challenge. Looking forward to seeing a post-comp version of this if you make one!
- I liked the small-town feel of the game, it definitely fit the theme and was pleasantly retro. - The quests were fun, if a bit repetitive, but impressive for a first Ludum Dare weekend project. - The tree art captured the smothering feel of a thick forest without restricting movement too much. The layout of the houses also worked very well. - I'm playing on OS X without color and had to use the hints to find objects.
Overall, I enjoyed your game, looking forward to playing your future entries!
When I try to play on OS X / Safari on itch, I get "Exception thrown, see JavaScript console.

@arch-a-type I'm back with a Windows 7 Pro on Bootcamp in Chrome! :)
- I was immediately drawn to this game because the graphics reminded me of a tiny version of Dragon Warrior 1. :)
- The click mechanic was satisfying and fun. I'm slow at these sort of games, so I especially like that it's turn based.
- Good choice on the music.
I wasn't able to get this to run on my Macbook Pro running Bootcamp with Windows 7 Pro. The map editor seemed to load, however.

Smooth gameplay, I liked that the background seemed to be a pocket. Being able to place people is fun, looking forward to seeing the post-comp version of this!
This is definitely unique! I like how the patient seems to get angry after the first pull.
- I like the camera positioning and the smooth zoom as the player jumps from planet to planet. - The audio works well at a lower volume. I had my speakers cranked up from another game, and the bursts at higher volume were a bit squeaky. My suggestion would be to polish the FX to make them a bit more soft and space-like. - The player's icon is cute and the solar system exploration via jump mechanic is fun.
Overall this is an incredibly relaxing game and a good use of the theme!
- Love the music and the sound effects. - The shape of the overworld is fun to navigate while attacking monsters. I want to go into the houses -- they feel almost like a mini-game waiting to happen. :) Did you ever play Fester's Quest for the classic NES? - The buckler throwing mechanic is satisfying, but it's sometimes challenging to recapture the buckler. - The difficulty of the game seems about right for the levels.
Great job on this!
Nice! Thanks for including an OS X version. The game has a dream-like quality to it, not sure if it's intended or my computer is just slow. Also, I got kind of mobbed by drones after playing for awhile. Great job on all of this, the game looks stellar and is fun to play.
Despite seeing the cube in the instructions it took me a minute to figure out that I should rotate the view. :) Playing on a mac laptop with a touchpad was challenging, would love to see some keyboard hotkeys for the zoom and rotation.
Overall great job, love idea behind the mechanics, and I'm looking forward to playing the post-comp version.
