We Made It !! In Time XD :joy

Great looking game. I think the music fits nicely as well. The controls are a bit confusing when the track starts to circle around. It's an interesting take on the "small world" theme, I didn't see many other games in this style. Thanks for making this game.

kate-kligman 2017-05-14 22:25

Love the music. The core gameplay is fun, would look forward to playing a post-comp version of this.

silkworm-sweatshop 2017-05-14 22:35

Reminds me of micro machines :). It looks nice and music is pretty funny. Physics are kinda wonky and buggy though (I could still drive while flipped over or on the side XD). Also wished there was a way to reverse.

impbox 2017-05-14 23:05

Very micromachines, good take on the theme, unfortunately physics and handling are not fun.

prototyke 2017-05-15 00:27

I like the tiny car racing. Fits into the theme of a small world well. Unfortunately, the controls are a bit annoying and the physics seem bad. The acceleration is too great. It goes from really slow to uncontrollably fast way too quickly. Those games are the most fun when you can race around and just smash into stuff if you mess up. I wasn't able to reverse, if that is implemented, and the poor handling when moving fast made it feel pretty bad compared to quite a few other games, like micromachines other people have mentioned. I feel like you have a solid base that could be way better with some tweaking of physics and controls.

hackschnitzel 2017-05-15 18:06

Had some problems with the controls / physics... But yes... Good old moods from micromachines... Congrats nice one...

pschichtel 2017-05-15 18:16

The first racing game I found. Nice map and it looked quite good. Sound for the car would be nice and it felt pretty slow/sluggish, but that might have been browser problems

drtizzle 2017-05-15 18:26

Very nice visual style! There is a lot going on 3d-model wise, that must have cost a lot of time to create . The controls are a bit floaty and heavy, but once I got used to them it was alright. Music is awesome! It really got stuck in my head. Reminded me of Transport Tycoon haha.

Well done!

ryte2byte 2017-05-15 18:58

Well... Its a start. There isn't an actual game here. Just a little car with wonky controls (no reverse, you can drive on your side) and some coins. Speaking of coins, did you know that the player's points persists even if the game is closed out and restarted? There is nothing to race against, not even a timer. I got excited when I dove off the table, thinking 'Oh, there's a whole secret world under here and this is gonna turn all Frog Fractions," but nope.

The music is cool and catchy and I'm very impressed with how many 3d models you were able to generate. It is a shame you didn't actually have time to complete the game.

ragnta 2017-05-15 19:43

The directions are weird. I can't move backward. I missed the goal, but It's a cute game :)

terracottafrog 2017-05-15 20:42

Cute little game :)

However, it isn't really complete :(

Like others have mentioned, it would have been nice to have a time based goal to work towards, and there were a few physics bugs.

The music and art are fantastic, however complete gameplay should have been prioritized. Even just adding a timer would have added a huge amount, even if it meant taking out the coins.

Good work overall.

simplepotential 2017-05-15 22:12

Not bad, needs some physics work I think but otherwise seemed good

smiley 2017-05-15 22:15

Nice little game.. unfortunately a bit slow on my computer so I had a bit difficulty to play it.

gozz 2017-05-15 22:18

Funny little game.

It's a bit odd not to be able to move backward, you can only brake. I reminds me when I played micromachines V2 on Super Nintendo with my friends :)

I encoutered many physics bugs, as the car rotating backward that got me stuck few times.

Great job doing this by the way ! Hope to see you on next jams ;) (I hope you got your last 5 votes ;) )

binaryferret 2017-05-15 22:25

Awesome. Made me think of micro machines! Loved the blocky aesthetics. The music was a nice touch as well. Enjoyed the layout of the track, I managed to get the car stuck a few times but it didn't stop me from enjoying what you made.

If the car was sped up a bit, adding in a bit of skidding and sorting out physics issues and this could be really something. I hope you work on it more as I'd look forward to seeing this polished!

Thanks for creating and share!

nightshadow0 2017-05-15 22:33

I love the aesthetic, but this is really glitchy at the moment. Ramps should be avoided at all costs, every time i jumped the car spazzed out and ended up flipped on its side, you may want to restrict rotation on a couple of axes. It's a solid start though, with a little work you could get a Micromachines going. Nice work!

bainerd 2017-05-15 22:42

I would like to see what you could do with more time! Definitely has a lot of potential.

kosmo 2017-05-15 23:04

The visuals are quite nice and I like the idea of a forever race as a LD game -- however I ran into a few control/physics issues.

I feel like not having reverse is a strange choice as I often wound up facing a wall and my instinct was to reverse out of it.

Additionally, the physics gets all wonky while driving into the wall -- I ended up upsidedown at one point and the car continued to drive around without any issues as if my wheels were still on the ground.

Finally, I think that you need a larger view of the game -- you have essentially zero time to react to obstacles. I get that part of the fun of this game is crashing, but I wish that it was more so a result of me messing up as opposed to simply not seeing it with enough time to avoid even with perfect reflexes.

Despite all of my criticisms I think that you should be proud of what you made in the time allotted -- thanks for making it!

richard-michael-smith 2017-05-16 00:17

This is a nice idea but the physics don't quite allow it to shine in its current form. When I try to reverse, the left and right do not behave like real-life. If you could add a more realistic driving model and get the handling really satisfying then I think it would make a huge difference.

kytn 2017-05-17 12:44

Hey, goood game !!! Free coockie :cookie:

thendash 2017-05-17 16:52

The toy cars fits the theme well I thought. It's kind of fun to play around with but it didn't seem like there were any consequences to crashing, the only difficulty came from hitting the ramps and then landing on your side unable to continue and thus being force to restart. Not sure if it's a bug or not, but the coins don't reset when you press restart, you only ever have to collect a coin once. I liked the graphics a lot, and the music was fun, unfortunately the physics kind of ruined it for me. Good work none the less, you accomplished a lot in the short amount of time provided.
