Cool game! Great atmosphere and feel! Had some trouble with the key controls, probably due to the cheap keyboard I was using. This would be fun with an NES controller!

Cool game! Great atmosphere and feel! Had some trouble with the key controls, probably due to the cheap keyboard I was using. This would be fun with an NES controller!
Love the humor, graphical style. The gameplay was a bit touchy, and there are some bad guy follow glitches- other than that- it took me a moment to figure out how to truly pump up, but after I did- I spread the love!
This is a well-made little platformer. Took me back to the gameboy for sure! Great job!
Played as far as I could- single player, keyboard. Would love to see a dedicated single player. Great job making a local co-op! Do you plan to add some audio feedback in the future?
Hey! Would play more- X didn't work and then I got stuck!
I wasn't able to play with anyone else. Alone, it seems very responsive. Do you have any footage of a full match?
Same runtime error. Macbook Pro Yosemite, if that matters. Happened right away- thought it was part of the game! Great game overall- love the chip tune screams! So cool.
This game really feels great. Full, albeit simple story, fun and fluid mechanics! I loved how the music would lull so that the beats of my pea picksups broke it down! Brilliant job!
Great effort! I jumped right in and was trying to figure it out- the sword was slow- then i realized i could jump and kill mario-style, then i almost got old- then I read your write-up! P.S. - Those titles are rad!
Yeah, I kept forgetting the S shape. Wow, really incredible achievement! This game seems really polished and slick. It does tend to get fast pretty quick, but entertaining tutorial- responsive gameplay, and fantastic character design! Would love if the "shifting" effected the main track more- but c'mon! Amazing work for 72 hours!!!
Hi! Looking to play- the link is still broken!
Great little platformer. So many times, I thought it was broken. Nope- just my skill level. Like MegaMan in that way. Great job!
Great job. I had some problems with the camera, but amazing COMPO accomp!
Ooo! I get the point! You're trying to make me mad! Srsly, tho- this is probably the simplest, yet most frustratingly hard game of this LD. I know what I gotta do- I just can't do it! Video of a speed run please?!
With a tutorial at the beginning and a little visual/aural feedback- I'd pay for this! Great job!
Not quite sure what was happening. Love the concept and the mystery. Can't wait to see if you do more with this!
Incorrect header script? Safari as well.
A lot of lol's playing through this. Great writing. I got to the end. Can't wait to see the next episode!
I spent most of the time underneath the world trying to jump back up. Can the camera swivel? Beautiful graphics!
I lost my battleship! Love the controls- the scroll was a little too sensitive on a trackpad, but moving and shooting was so smooth!
Looking forward to trying this on WIN!
Fluid and simple animation. Effective play mechanic. Fairly precise controls. Fantastic work!
Great animations. Wish there was more. Love that you can knock dues into those pesky garbage cans!
Love this. Great little game- Love the art style and feel!
Great work! Love the idea of shadow puppets in general, but this game has really pulled it off. Begging and choosing; the control was a bit off, but interestingly so- I found I could intermittently jump up the entire side of a vertical arm to save myself- Also, was hoping to turn into a bird, or an elephant?! That seemed like it must have been a concept discarded for time- great job!
Can unrar for mac; opens an app or package called v1. V1 can't be opened- any suggest?
Super intense! The different shapes really made a difference in how I had to play. The GFX are amazing!
This looks great, animated well, and has a lot going on- i.e. mini games- Yet, is there a way to dump your inventory? That's where I got stuck. Great job!
Great all around! Simple and effective design, easier to understand and implement the tools. Good job!!
Love how you can moonwalk in this game- Intended? Or happy accident?!
This game is gorgi! Great atmosphere and simply satisfying! Thanks for making it!
Looks really polished. Feels close, too. A little weird sometimes, my player would seem to get stuck to the walls and I had no idea why. Opened a door and the screen went white.
Just a couple bugs, but loved the suspense. Sometimes the "Help" bubble would be flipped horizontally. The helping character followed to closely. I thought it was a bug when I died attacking the monster in monster form, then, I thought it over... Great little game. Hope you keep at it!
I would love to see more shifting- and triple jumps- or forever jumps! Rainbow jumps! Power ups? Maybe I just died too soon? LO SCORE- 15637 HI SCORE - 56717
Tense! Gameplay is smooth and the mechanics are intuitive. Collision could be better, but I read your edit- Great job!
"Kaneda!" Was all I was thinking, as I ravaged through the city until they shot me down like Kong.
I couldn't tell, but it seemed like attack wasn't working. So, I became a pacifist and found the three orbs. I braved the things and brought them back, but they were already there! I am a FOX!
Really enjoyed everything about this - The perfect pace- I couldn't put it down, and then it was over- all I could think was all of the mystery left behind. I'll be back!
Beat the game- I could keep going!
Can't get this to work!
Any updates? Looking forward to playing this!
Can we beat this one? Yes we can- after the blood pressure rises! And after I finally got into the third room- There was a frustrated sigh when the exit popped up outside!!! Great little game!
I had a problem entering the door code from certain distances. Up close- it worked fine.
Fun! Love the states of matter!
Love the art style! The controls and concept took awhile for me to get a hang of- Love that you can send bullets around the blackholes!
Love the concept and the card mechanic. Great take on the cabin in the woods! Would be cool if you could shift the landscape in the fly!
Transmorphing! I was doing well until I got stuck under a cloud and a tree! Is this randomly generating?
Slick graphics! What a harrowing mood you have created! Reminded me of Golgo 13. Can't wait to see how you take this further!
Very creative and entertaining! Great job!
Works great on Safari. Fantastic story and great click mechanics.
High score! 6834! I was a little confused at first, but then I caught on!
More!!!
Gorgeous Love the look, feel and mechanics. The best I could do was 9. :P
Great idea. I could help but fall into despair over and over again! Could use a little work on scrolling and physics, but don't get me wrong- all in all- a beautiful concept. I will try again on the big screen!
I want to see more!!! Great start!
You had my heart pumping there!!! Fun game!
Web vers- Got the blue lens, I almost quit and then found a second room. Found the green lens, then I got trapped in a wall. I'll try again on Windows! Art is a Path!
Love the opening song! Cool graphics!!!
On Web, MacBook Retina- Safari- I really can't consistently apply the cards to the player portrait. Have a feeling this isn't an issue in the download version! Trying that next. Great look, nice pace- reminded me Gunpoint and Papers, Please! Awesome job!
Love the look of the game. Simple and effective! Didn't expect the shapeshifting- duh, really cool! Talk about product placement!
I like the movement- it's difficult, but fun. The gravity is amazing! Right before I turned into square, as the triangle, I jumped into the ground and couldn't get out.
I couldn't get it to work with keyboard. What am I missing?
Tried this again and got a better hang of it. It must be more responsive with a controller- sorry! The graphics are great and the core mechanic is cool- will try again in the future when I have a controller.
Addicting and arcadey! Will try multiplayer when I get a chance. The sound could use a little work? Maybe, it's perfect. Great job!
Most moving game that I have played in this LD so far. Great job! Holistic!
Almost completely realized. The first level felt very polished! The second level, a woman fainted at the sight of the rat and slid across the floor until she came to a stop in a doorway- barring completion of the level! At least I think so- I fooled around for 20 minutes, shifting and shaping, and then I gave up. Will try again in the future!
Can't wait to see more! Great animations- full of energy. Cool attack FX, too!
I was hoping to transform into the html 5 skeleton - nope. :( Had a great time tho- I quit at 62/62 48/48 21!!! Great feel, can only be tightened up and made better. Reminded me of Crawl. Fantastic!
Love the graphic style and the overall look. I didn't realize that I was being hit by an enemy until I was already dead!
The first play through was pretty random in my favor. I was getting cocky- it got harder!
Totally need to memorize the levels. That was a major part of the game for me and what made me keep coming back. Great arcade game feel.
Thanks all! It's probably a little broken, I'll check it out later today. ChummyWinds- did you get it to work? That is the right file. It may take a moment to verify, the first time you open it. It works on Yosemite and El Capitan. Let me know if you have any more issues!
Thanks! I am trying to figure out how to completely disable controller support. Glad to know it is working, somewhat- looking into the fullscreen issue and win condition! Thanks for al the feedback!
Thanks for all the feedback! Working on some bugs and will post an update ASAP.
Thanks! Working on a post-comp version- a smaller download. Was hoping to maybe upload a WebGL version, but it's too big. Thanks again, for playing, and all the feedback!
Very complete little game! Great job! Animations were fun, sounds were on point- it took me a moment to realize the sphere shape and the character were different.
Fun and engaging! I spent a lot of time playing with faces! Reminds me of Carmen Sandiego, and Paper's Please. I reached a certain point on the web version where the screen went black and looped me back to the creation screen with no info- after a few times of this, I gave up. Any ideas?
Too many paper! They zerg rushed! Fun, but confusing. Love your characters!
Awesome! Like the best part of Oregon Trail with a turn-based strategy twist. Love the simplicity, and the scale! Downloaded the Mac version, but there was only a .exe. Web worked fine in Safari. Unfortunately, all my friends are dead...
Love the art style. Can't wait to see what you come up with next!
I had real trouble timing the sling shot. Couldn't get it down- was on Mac with trackpad. Will try Win later!
Great artwork, solid gameplay. Played four times. First time, couldn't select the club, tried to punch out the lizards- to no avail. Never had a problem with the weapon selection again. Second time, got to the second Pterodactyl scene and died to a baby t-rex. Third time, got murdered by the second Big Rexes. Fourth time, got stuck on the first Pterodactyl scene- think I killed the last Pterodactyl off screen- shot off screen for a few minutes, but no continue came up and the game wouldn't let me advance. Sound will add a lot. Fantastic use of theme, graphics, interfaces, and pretty near complete!
Hi! Mac version does not work for me- admittedly, I am running 10.10.5 on a Retina. I'll try again for the Win!
Master trader! I was put off at first- thought it was a straight Cataan rip- boy was I wrong! One click control, fast play, clean design, and nice sound effects. By the end you had me thinking of the traveling salesman- one step closer!
Was going to wait for windows, but your concept and style drew me in- Downloaded love and played on Mac! AWESOME! Going to try again on Win- as the track pad made me no hero, but was forgiving enough. Found what I thought was a secret room, then a pit- tried walking over and got this-
http://bit.ly/2bXuzEt
@S0lll0s Awesome! I hear that... Will maybe wait to play on Win until you patch. Great job though! Love the chroma disintegration- and all the clipped clips!
Cool art and solid game mechanics. I'd play again and keep playing! Great jam!
Same problem, here, on Mac- will try on Win later.
Awesome!
I agree with the previous comment, about filters. Not where I was expecting it to go, but was pleasantly surprised at the end! Just enough animation and variation to keep me interested. Reminded me of the cut scenes in the Trauma Center: Under the Knife- in a good way! Great job!
SPOILER WARNING>>>http://bit.ly/2bxTcGL
Nice! Simple and difficult! The art style is perfect, and cave art an interesting take on the theme, as is using your kids' art. I can't kill a sabre toothed tiger for the life of me!
Looks great. Played by myself on web, Mac laptop with trackpad. Worked great. A few bugs- the timer doesn't display the 10s correctly. One time, the enemy I killed didn't die and/or respawn for a good while after health was gone past zero. Other than that- I'll look forward to multiplayer!
Same problem, couldn't download for Mac- will try Windows later. Looking forward to it! This looks awesome, awesome, awesome!
Love the feel and the concept. Upgrade the graphics and the sound and I'd play more- simple, but effective.
Awesome! I missed it! Will stay tuned!
Great package- starting with the cymbal hit on the exit key. Had me jamming on that for a while, just to pay along. Played this on Web, had issues with the controls when not in fullscreen, tried to go fullscreen, and it crashed. I'll try Mac next!
Okay, that's more like it- totally different experience for me on download. Real slick feel, love that you can turn around- didn't realize this for some reason on the web small screen vers. Great job!
Great job! I lost- but made it to the second round. Love the graphics- played on web, on mac- is there any sound? I didn't hear any, but some cool effects would put this over the top! Kinda wish it would AI clear the tapes that stack on top of each other. Will try to play on mobile. Again, awesome job!
Awesome! Love those little guys! Can't wait to find out what's going on in this cave!
Great little jam! Love the atmosphere! I'm still working on it- but I think I have to reset. I will come back later. Thanks!
Love the graphics and the gameplay! The sound didn't work for me? Thanks so much!
Awesome! Got 16290 on my first try- 1800 on my second. The atmosphere is fantastic- love the soundtrack and the sound effects!
Awesome! I def started killing some opponents after I locked onto them. Had some fun little dog fights. Amazing what you guys did in the time! Beautiful, simple, and with great atmosphere!
I thought that the goal was explicit in the title- at least, that is what I set out to do and accomplished. So be it.
Great little game. Tone reminded me of "Gods will be Watching." More!
Amazing concept! I can't play the web version- will look at the others, but do you plan to fix? Thanks!
I was confused. Wouldn't open in Safari- got further in Chrome. Playing on Mac Retina- will try on the Win box later.
Wow! This is fantastic. Took a while to get rolling, but just the right amount of time to get me hooked. Great graphics, stellar sounds, and awesome mechanics! Top ten of 36, IMHO- as far as full featured games.
Was kind of impressed at the depth at the beginning, felt like the best ninja ever sneaking past every dude- then realized that they were getting stronger and I- not so much. Started fighting again, and got to what seemed like a boss on the third? level? This happened, for a while- http://bit.ly/2bPUmv6
Reconnoitering inventory, I hit escape absentmindedly to return to the game- and quit to the main menu. I knew better- you told me, I just was in the habit for some reason. The pathfinding could use some work, and I had to reset my inventory at each new level- but maybe that's a feature. All in all, was surprised at how much fun I had. Thanks, and good show!
Okay- so it ran pretty slow on Safari, worked well on Chrome. Looked great- simple, cool, couldn't really tell what was going on, but okay, mouse clicking and great, time for feedback. Stellar job! Then I hit a button and the real game began. Customized Count Coote for the win. This game is fast, responsive, and seems to require a bit of skill. Great audio, effective graphics, and one of the most complete games I've played on LD. Delta time?! Good show, mate!
Mac version? Will come back to this on Windows!
Yeah, the web was pretty buggy- I think. I thought I was driving into the ground, but my car just rolled. Must be the pivot point on the wheel? Any way! Love taking a Sunday drive down Old Barfield Lane East, hope to make it back to Cat City soon!
Wow! Fascinating little game of chance. Played on Mac- worked fine. Needs a few options so that you can rescue yourself from the randomness and play a little longer- or at least have one more enterprising option to make money- but hey! I can only criticize because of how much gameplay you have going! I tended to get stuck in a "I can't take in tax because I have no men to send" situation- You could maybe solve this with an inflating/deflating tax system? Which could have even more repercussions- e.g."Why are the taxes raising again! They were just lowered!" All in all, loved it- great potential- hope you expand this into a larger game. Loved the art- especially the variety in the character design! Need to come up with a different way to select the taxman, soldier, and throne tho- more than once- I choose the wrong one- maybe a back out button for each option? Anyway- great job! Can't wait to see more!
Awesome! Near-perfect Atari port of NMS. Infinite jump is cool- Love the ship controls on the planet- tho- a way to call back the ship after you jump out and it sails off into oblivion would be nice... Of course, that'll probably come in the NES port!
Nice- subversive educational rpg. More!
Great little text game! Can't wait for the long form!
I got a little frustrated with the gameplay, but loved the story and the feel. Love that you can knock a mis-dropped block in with your ship! Also, the sound is great, and in 48hrs?! Great job.
Love the look and the controls- hit a few visibility bugs in the building behind the robot in the screenshot^^^ Other than that everything seemed pretty flawless. Would love, and imagine you intend, to control the bots I damaged. I'm getting a Hyper-Light Drifter feel, but also a Star Wars feel: IMHO, tone down the former and pump up the latter. All-in-all, great job- and I'll be on the lookout for more!
Couldn't get the get to start in Safari browser- Spacebar wouldn't recognize. No problems in Chrome. Fun little game, only lasted 3 days though.
Starts on Mac, but for some reason the controls aren't working. Doesn't seem to register in the game world, but rather in the browser. Will try again later- intrigued!
Thanks for all the great feedback! @brunurd, @ccegeadamcc, @stenol - will get a Win version out by the end of the week!
Also @tonynogo, you'll get a Win version soon!
Thanks for all the great feedback and for being patient- I'll see if I can get a vid up too, especially for Linux folk- and might be able to make a Linux port, but I have not come up with a way to test it on that OS yet!
Some of the characters and similar effects are in my previous entry for LD35, which does have a Win download, but a little different. My personal goal is to combine all the mechanics into a final playable game, but all the pieces haven't fallen into place yet! ;)
You can find the other dl here:
http://ludumdare.com/compo/author/joemid/
Windows and PostJam versions should be up within the hour! Thanks for all your patience. Here's a link to the Rex in the Spriter Awesome Boss Compo-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qCsV4iERPI
Plan to have a gameplay vid link before the end of the week!
@Lonely Vertex - Built with a touchpad, but might be easier with mouse? Still working on it- Anything specific that could improve? Thanks!
@Dietrich Epp - Sorry, not a bug- I can't get a certified vers at the moment. But, I hear you. Thanks for the feedback and I'll post here as soon as I can get it signed.
@kazoo - totally intentional!
@scriptorum - thanks for the heads up- I'll see what I can do and will post back here. I have a sneaky feeling it might have to do with El Capitan? No sure-
Thanks again to everyone for the great feedback.
Post Jam vers are up- lemme know if there are any issues!
@RIPPorkins - Actually, that might not be the trackpad- was intended to be a feature, not a bug ;) The cam shifts focus onto each character that the cursor passes through. Still needs some work or maybe to be removed all together, as it sounds like it is confusing. Thanks so much for the feedback!
Finally, little bamboo copter get his future! Played on Mac- had no issues, but was a little confused at the beginning, I thought I was the plane, not the bamboo copter. Got it figured out easily. Challenging, but I did it! Thanks~
P.S. Great job!
Tried on mac. Failed, as you predicted. I will try again soon on PC!
Screen Shot 2017-05-07 at 12.38.05 PM.png You don't have a mac build. I can play on mac, but technically, only remotely off a pc or in a wineskin wrapper. ;) Will try later on Win.
Gorgeous gameplay. The look and feel really gel. I had a hard time with the controls too. My fingers not coordinated enough to ZXTRShift + WASD. Would love to try this on a controller- because it looks so well in motion and responds so nice. Excellent COMPO entry, though! I'll try again!
Thanks for playing and THANKS for the feedback, RS!
Thanks all! @danman9914 ;) @novodantis You are on the right track! @ilikescifi would you mind posting your computer specs? @ChloraVirgo You are not wrong in your criticals! Thank you! (And yes, lizard brains are on the menu, but good luck- and the functionality of the smaller beasts- very limited ATM. (no tree climbing or WAIR yet;) also, would you mind posting your specs? @turbo-hermit Thank you! @devastus Thanks! Yes there is still much to do- most of the interfaces were so broken by the deadline, that they were removed before the build. Will get a post jam vers as soon as it is fixed. ;) Thanks all for your patience and feedback- YOU ARE TOO BIG! No one got to the temple? ;)
Thanks all! @smiling-cat-entertainment I think you went the wrong way. ;) Dumb luck?! More like smart luck! I think you hit "S" which was a hotkey that was never removed. Now- it's a feature! ;D Thank you for the feedback! Trying to get a postjam vers out. @Icewind Thanks- I will look into that! @piller-yann Thank you! And worry not! You are not alone! @cerno-b Thank you for the wonderful compliments! I'm giving you a trophy for posting the links! BTWs- loved Grohk's Arena! ;)
@feltip @juju-adams Just to be clear- I have been working on assets and concepts for a very long time, but I make a new game to fit the theme for each LD with what I have learned from the previous months. But don't take my word for it, there are links to the previous entries above. Remember, this is not the compo! ;D @larzan - Thank you very much! I have been experiment with the Shader ToolKit in Visionaire- I highly recommend it! Thanks @buteratosgames, love your art as well, see your comments for more! @urban-logic-games Thank you for the compliment and feedback. I still have a long way to go in story and way posting! ;D
Thanks all! I am finalizing a post jam vers that I hope to post after the ratings!
@kate-kligman Thanks for the info- I have not tested in a bootcamp scenario. I have run on Mac through remote desktop, but it is also very choppy, and not recommended. I am still unaware of what is wrong with the shaders for the mac build- but they (at least I think) the new shader code is responsible for a crash early in the game- though it might be optimization or hardware related. Either way! Thank you for trying it out!
@frodewin Thanks! I worked some of your comments into the new vers. Not perfect, but a start! I'm still trying to determine the best camera controls, and have had a few setbacks with that in the recent change to VS5.0 The zoom function is performed with the Mouse Scroll, however, the parameters change with each character- I think?!?!? ;) Thank you so much for the feedback!
@louspirit Wow! Thanks for the compliments! Can't wait to implement the instructions. Visionaire has a strong dialogue system built in, but I have been experimenting with a custom setup, not quite there yet. Thanks again!
@takusan ;) Yeah, Visionaire does make big games- at least has the ability to do so. I feel like the Chains of Satinav games built with this engine were around 5-10gbs for a full game- maybe a hundred scenes or so? Anyway- thanks so much! I am having an issue/conflict with the math of the camera and the parallax scroll- not sure where this will end up, but I think optimization; reducing VRAM and seek times might help. Hard to clear the view with out losing the density of the forest, but I hear you. In the future, I would like to utilize some cover spots, for simple stealth mechanics. Also, I might need to fade the visibility of the foreground trees when ever the camera is zoomed. Either way, I think it points to better level design. Thanks for the feedback! Would love to get this vers down to 256mb at the most!
@gama-croma You know it! At the moment, there is a day night cycle that controls the lightness and contrast shaders. I think that there is a bug at "high noon"- otherwise the game definitely needs refiguring in the day/night department and I think that will go hand in hand with level design and visibility in general. Thank you for the feedback!
@lyxil Thank you! Aw, yes! The Flight of Claude! Yes, I recommend Visionaire, especially to you, for narratives! Though, there is a learning curve. I have been working with it for about 5 years now- Yeah, I have created a slight different control scheme for advjam. I think that it is more responsive, and actually, it makes you give up some control. For me, this game has always been geared more toward "interactive animation" but without sacrificing fun. In the end, conjuring a narrative up out of a "digital world" has also been a goal.
Thanks again for all the feedback. It forces me to think about all the things I avoid on a daily basis! INVALUABLE!!!
Hi @pond-loach! Have been away and just saw your post. I'd love to upload a web version, but realistically it's not gonna happen anytime soon. Right now, Visionaire does support webGL, but it's somewhat buggy and only really playable for games under 100mb. This version clocks in at just under a gig. It's just too big! Maybe in like 10 years?! With the right optimization? Thanks for your interest!
For some reason, it took me awhile (2-3 levels) to figure out that the arrows on the ends signified up and over, and to remember- "wait, what- which way does it go again?" (
Wow- that was a great one! I played through twice. The first time, I hung around my wife, the second, I went back around the world and it felt like a new play-through! Subtle! Love what you are doing here! Even the graphical language leads to an "arc." Love it! And compo! Congrats!
Impressive! For some reason I had an easier time the first go on PC. On Mac, I couldn't get a hang of the controls and kept banging into the walls. EDIT: Steam controller seems to work! EDIT EDIT: Just saw your note about controls! ;) Love the feel of this game. Totally reminds me of Innerspace- the intensity of the red blood cells- the laser, the needle. Great production value! Whole body educational game please?!
Loved this! Not too much exposition, just enough. The digging mechanic is great. Had trouble with the last item, I get it now! Thanks for a great little game!
I was a little judge-y at first,(because of the controls) but then I started making choices! Good hook! Next thing you know, I'm searching for a conclusion! Great job! Lost two to the raptors, had a babe, picked some berries, had some feasts, shot lasers and took them apart, found other ones- and then I don't know what the text said, because I must've clicked and it was gone- but I won. I really felt like I won. Very satisfying game. And the music moved me through it all! Great jobber!
Love the look and the concept. The controls are slick and overall this is a fantastic game. I love how I mindlessly yearn for the next problem to solve! (one part Zen one part Dystopia) Just enough self-reflexivity in the hints. Can't wait to see the next version! Bravo!
Screen Shot 2017-05-20 at 11.48.03 AM.png
Very easy on the eyes and ears, and very difficult. Great job!
Hey @devastus! You left me wanting more! (And with a string hatred for those robo-spiders. Just made me want those turrets.) Graphics were awesome and control was fluid. So much scale- I found myself running toward the end of the cliff to see how far I could drop before the game reset! Meta! Great job, just wish I could place turrets!
EDIT: For some reason, (Me? WebGl? Mac? Safari? Me?) I could not place a turret on the first play-though, as I read through the comments I saw that people were placing turrets. I revisited and WOW. Felt more finished than you led me to first believe. Really got into it. Brought me back to the arcades. Lost the sense of going for score points and really felt the necessity of scarcity of resource and time. I thought it was a great start before, but can't wait to see where you go with this.
Love it! VVV Screen Shot 2017-05-15 at 10.36.11 PM.png
Perfect title. Wonderful premise and use of theme. Gorgeous and clever graphics. Thank you for making this game. Congratulations!
Screen Shot 2017-05-14 at 12.51.55 AM.png Wow! I'm blown away! Way to go. First terminal game I've played in an LD. IMHO- full stars just for that! Played twice. The first time I got lost with a scorpion in my pack. A painless experience the second time. Simple. Fun. And, funny! Great job you two!
I mean, this reminds me- especially in art- of Broken Age. Amazing what you accomplished in such little time! Wondering if you used the Adventure Game template for Unity? Can't help but recommend Visionaire Studio- ;D (Though I only use it for 2d and don't know how difficult it really is for 3d characters.
Anyway, I was really impressed! It seemed like you focused mostly on one solid puzzle- the pigs, and that was really well done. A good little scavenge! Totally thought the Idol would suggest a third option- taking the Discarded with- played through again to see if I could trigger this.
Great job! Hope to revisit this small world again, soon!
Great art and arcade-y controls. The stress-o-meter kept going up, and up, and up- I couldn't make it long enough to see if I could use the samurai sword. Can't wait to see what you do next. Very polished.
Awesome! Can't wait for sounds! Would love to play this like Word's with Friends (or insert better example here) online and somewhat turn based. What are your plans for the future? Thanks and congrats on a great jam game!
Wow, this was hard for me. I never won, but had a good time trying! The best results came from jamming on f and j and space, then hoping I didn't get too close to the unraveling edge. The music really adds to the stress!
Gorgeous! Unique and informative. Best death scene of the jam! Congrats!
Aw nah! MAC OSX The application cannot be opened. I'll try win later.
Screen Shot 2017-05-20 at 10.02.25 AM.png Congrats! Love the comic style intro- green man. The mana is cool too, love how it zips over to you. It seemed to reset when I gave the mana to the tree? Also, no sound for me, maybe that was my fault? EDIT- It changed to the day 2. Is there more? I'll check again after the ratings are posted. Great job!
Gorgi game! The music reminds me of the third man- on guitar. I found if I tipped the world like this, I could not die- meaning, the level of difficulty was extremely lower, not that I was invincible. Screen Shot 2017-05-13 at 5.48.13 PM.png That was until I paused the game. When I unparsed. My character disappeared. Screen Shot 2017-05-13 at 5.52.37 PM.png But I still couldn't die. Don't know If I was controlling my character, or what, until finally... Screen Shot 2017-05-13 at 5.53.21 PM.png Hope that helps! Good luck and great job!
Love the mini-map. Didn't get it at first, but when I did, it saved my life more than a few times. Def reminds me of the arcade/nes games I grew up with! Also, love the sound! My gf didn't. ;) Screen Shot 2017-05-18 at 12.35.38 AM.png
Wow. The scale in the intro is amazing! I aborted on about planet 21. Then read the comments and went back through to 30-31- well, you know. I recommend you check out Visionaire Studio if you haven't had a look. It has a slick dialogue system you might find really useful if you were to try another go at this game type! Congrats on your first jam!
Cool little game! Reminded me of super monkey ball in some ways. Great graphics and sounds. Unreal! Great job! Would love to see some more animations (easy to say :)) for the beetle, as long as this pose still happens while falling!!! EDIT: Played on mac with keyboard.
Screen Shot 2017-05-20 at 1.07.07 PM.png
AIIIIIIEEEEEEEEYAAAA! Love this lil stinker!
Great sprites and animations. Unforgiving. I found it very difficult, but I loved every second.
@juju-adams This was unbelievable! Fantastic use of visuals and motifs. The sounds and visuals are fantastic! The gameplay itself, though intentionally simplistic, is so tight! Everything gels from your intro screen to the title, to the first sound of that pink exit. One of the best of the jam, in my opinion. Congratulations!
Love the music, love the graphics, and love the comments! Reminds me of something built for Vectrex! Very challenging!
@buteratosgames Love the art! Is that Spriter? Fun and arcade-y! Great death scenes! @mmason @mathijsvissers @listonos Hey you guys, check out the rules, no?! ;D

"You’re free to use any tools or libraries to create your game. You’re free to start with any base-code you may have.
You’re free to use 3rd party Artwork/Music/Audio assets, or assets you previously created, but we ask that you OPT-OUT of the respected voting categories (Graphics, Audio). You can opt-out of a voting category when you submit your game.
We strongly recommend you only use assets that you have the legal right to use (Public Domain, things you licensed/created, etc). If you don’t have the right to use something, it is your responsibility."
@mmason I'm more artist than programmer, and I use a middleware engine with actions and events to construct my game. (Visionaire Studio) And I have used the same assets and/or concepts; for the last few LD. I build from scratch each time, rebuild, and redo assets; I opt out of graphics and sound. I hear what you are saying about being forthright and clear, this is something that I am working on as well.
I feel like the ratings in the jam are more of a gift from the community to the developer, in response to the gift of the game. And I do believe that discourse is imperative in order for all of us to grow! I felt you were clear and articulate in your response! Your feedback is necessary! ;D Also, side note, love your game!
@buteratosgames Yes, that was it! Thanks! Keep it up!
Fun adventure! Great jam! Have you ever used Visionaire Studio? I'd recommend it! I noticed a graphical anomaly when ever the text popped up. Seemed like different text and then the typing animation began- quicker than the eye, but maybe you know what I'm talking about. I grabbed up all the items right away and piled them into my inventory- I never really "searched" for the right item for the job, I already had them- so maybe they could be hidden a little better? Just some thoughts. Great job, and love the art!
Cool! I picked up all the actions right away. Love this little planet and all of it's details! "I'm a bit tired!" Thanks and congrats!
Kinda perfect arcade- more features would make this an addictive mobile game for sure. Fantastic art, sound, and solid controls. Congrats! Screen Shot 2017-05-17 at 10.04.54 PM.png Best I could do! EDIT: Screen Shot 2017-05-17 at 10.20.03 PM.png
Gorgeous tone poem. Made me happy for minutes. 'Til we meet again.
Amazing game. At about 800 credits I got docked real bad. Started working toward -credits, wondering if it might all end. No such luck. Finally did it. Regret it. ;D Thank you and congrats!
Great game! Love the concept and fantastic execution. Easy to pick up- would love to see a next gen version with updated graphics and more levels; rat kings, catchers, and laboratories!
Congratulations! I will download now and print and play when I get a chance. Love the art and concept! Hope to see more packs like this!
(Here is an english translation.)
The Lines of Hope Game is a print and play game, played only with cards, tested for 1-2 players.
Components: The game has a total of 83 cards
1 bomb threat marker 1 refugee protection marker 4 guards
10 cards of resources 12 cards of crisis 26 cards of refugees, divided into 8 families 24 cards of consequences 4 Agents Of the "Federation" 1 patrolman 4 rescues
24 cards on the consequence deck 57 cards on the main deck (26 refugees + 12 crisis cards + 10 features + 4 policemen + 1 patrolman + 4 rescues.)
Game mode:
Divide principal decks and consequences; Position the 4 guards in the field randomly, side by side, forming the 4 rows; The game begins with 4 refugees, each placed under a guard, randomly pulled from the main deck; They shuffle the decks; Each player draws three cards. If one is a crisis, it must be returned to the deck, the player shuffles the deck and pulls another card. Repeating this until you have three cards that are not crises; The player (s) must (obligatorily) perform 3 actions in his move.
Possible actions are: Pull a card play a card move a card (Both from one queue to another, as you move your position in the queue you are in.) Heal a bruised refugee Pass a family
The non-use of all actions implies pulling a consequence.
The player always lowers refugees at the end of one of the queues. A refugee needs to be on the range of an appeal. Each feature supports 2 refugees adjacent to the card, up or down. If a refugee runs out of resources this is considered a tense situation. At the end of the turn where a tension is generated, the player must draw a consequence. As at the end of each subsequent shift if the tension is not resolved.
At the end of the turn, after the 3 actions are used the player must add cards to his hand from the main deck, in the amount indicated by the danger marker. If this triggers a tension situation, it will be considered as started on the turn of the next move, and will only generate a consequence at the end of his turn.
When picking up a crisis card, the player must choose between adding 1 to the danger marker, or pulling a number of consequences equal to that indicated on the danger marker. The drawn crisis cards accumulate in the field, and whenever they form a group of 3, 1 is added to the threat marker. Whenever the threat marker is increased by 1, the row with the most refugees is destroyed (the save card is face down). Her refugees are relocated to the line with fewer refugees. By spending 3 actions, the player manages to repair a destroyed queue. If there is a Federation Agent, or a patrol in line to be destroyed, it can be sacrificed to prevent destruction.
Minority Mechanics: If there are refugees from different planets in a row of refugees, there may be a majority of refugees from one planet. In this case a voltage is generated. Except there's a federation agent or a patrol in that line. If the majority and minority relationship happens between refugees from the same alliance, there is no tension. Children do not count do not count to count majority, unless there is an adult of the same planet.
When a family is complete, and the first in line, the player may spend an action to move a family to the other side of the border. By doing this the player can move the danger marker back to 1 number, or advance the safety marker to 1 number. Each advancement in the safety marker gives players extra action per turn. Evil refugees can not cross the border.
Each guard has some alliance symbols. These guards only pass refugees belonging to that alliance. Except there's a federation agent or a patrol in that line.
The defeat conditions are: No more cards to draw at the end of your turn. If a situation requires you to add 1 to the hazard counter, and it is already at 4;
You win the game if you pass a family, with the security marker being at 4.
Hi! Was fun snaking through the forest! I went off the rails after I discovered the potion behind the wizard's house. Would love a completion cutscene, reveal of where this little place was. From the corners it seemed like a glass box. Reminded me of the Village, or a Twilight Zone episode. Congratulations!
Played this a couple times. You'd never see me again with an instant restart. The last round, I am sitting out back, a huge moth flew into my face as I was spinning around the globe. don't know how you did it, but it made everything that much more real! ;) Srsly, tho- amazing. 48 hrs. You compo folk really inspire. Thanks you!
Love all the love you put into this! Great compo. Thanks for letting me play as the chickens! I didn't have the stamina to win- quit after about 10 tries and a bowl of space spaghetti. I'll be back to try again. Looking forward to you taking this further!
This looks super cool. Would love to see a vid! What was it like developing for holocube?
Gorgeous look. I like the simplicity of the character. It has an almost paper craft feel. Great job!
My only complaint- I want to blow everything up and ride those vehicles! Had fun with this! Great humor- love the long opening crawl. The action can only get better with time! Great job and congratulations!
Thanks for the OS X version! Game would crash unless I turned off the post-processing. MacBook Pro mid 2012 Retina 10.12.4 Addicting game and fantastic graphics. Keep going! I love this macro-world!
I really enjoyed this! Love the graphics, sound and gameplay. Took me back to Pole Position on the 7800 (and of course outrun, also cruise'n world.) Played through the world a few times- then, skidded off the road for about and 20 seconds and the screen froze on this- just thought you might wanna know. Screen Shot 2017-05-16 at 11.06.47 PM.png (mac, safari) Thanks for the trip down memory lane! Congrats!
Just finished. A well conceived twist on an age old tale. Ren’Py seems to serve you well, but I recommend you play around with Visionaire Studio if you find the time. Great atmosphere, great job!
Screen Shot 2017-05-18 at 12.42.37 AM.png This dude is cold. Congrats and thanks!
Wow! Amazing game! I think it's perfect- for me, the lack of music added to the monotony. Clever and powerful. Def one of the best crafted and complete games of the jam. I'll take your advice! Thanks for this experience, and congratulations!
Almost there, just gotta buy a new finger splint. Then I'll top 10. Screen Shot 2017-05-20 at 2.16.35 PM.png
My favorite part, hands down- the planet faces. For some reason, there was a disconnect for me- where I place the asteroid, where I hit it- something that I didn't experience with AB Space. I don't know what exactly, I'm longing for a more tactile and tension building setup before I fire- probably just conditioning. All in all, very straight-forward and nice polish!
Awesome! Love the sound FX. Great job! Reminds me of an old MECC game!
EASY Screen Shot 2017-05-20 at 10.11.44 AM.png HARD Screen Shot 2017-05-20 at 10.18.49 AM.png IMPOSSIBLE ;D Screen Shot 2017-05-20 at 10.28.23 AM.png
Really loved the alien laser blast sfx! Congratulations!
Love it! Looking at the screenshots- there seem to be amazing planet backdrops. I didn't see any of those- graphical glitch? Or is that just promo art? Seemed like the burning fireball around the asteroid would make more sense with an impending planet in the b-ground. Was streaming through remote desktop from pc to mac. I'll try on the desktop alone and let you know! Great music and feel.
Totally missed the ending! I kept going over the road and the truck went by above me- was stuck here for a while. Screen Shot 2017-05-16 at 1.28.21 AM.png Watched the vid and got what was supposed to happen. Played on mac, safari- see now the "play windows standalone for best experience" ;D Great job! Love that you had something to say! EDIT: Just saw that this has been noted! Sorry for the repost!
Screen Shot 2017-05-14 at 1.27.04 AM.png Looks like I've still got some work to do! I'll be back for another play through! Great work. Very Agatha Christie meets Neal Stephenson- kinda! Love the mood, retro graphics, and great soundtrack selection!
Love this! So simple and eloquent! The scale is intense!
Awesome! Sounds and feels like Q-bert to me! Love the simplicity, the gameplay, and the meta take on the concept! ^Love what @moski said! Played on mac safari- had trouble with jumping and the falling platforms seemed to drop before I landed. Got used to it and- Screen Shot 2017-05-20 at 1.52.58 PM.png Thanks for a great little game!!!
I loved this. The gameplay was just rough enough to go with the art- which has a great style. Concept and execution are spot on and the random level generation kept me playing. Congrats!
Oh whoa- I agree with @qyouk - that was very hypnotic. I am amazed that I could actually follow the story and keep clicking- I only made it to 128- oh the neighbor... Thank you for the pleasant little game!
Congratulations! Really impressive for a jam game! The art-style, concepty and quick- recalls Ashley Wood, and is really integrated well into the rest of the game. Smart move for a game jam and exudes a real confidence. I love how you created such a simple turn-based mechanic- reminds me of Advance Wars and Into the Breach, but with the tower defense angle- it was fun! Thanks so much for the game!
So cool! Love the pico look! A very thoughtful take on the theme. Thank you for unlimited energy- without it, I would not have unlocked the simulation's conclusion. I think you should make this game into a Ted talk.
Yay SNES! Love the famicom style. Graphics were chunky fab. "Shlack" is my new fav sound effect- tho whne I played on HTML the sounds seemed to bug out. All-in-all, simple, nostalgic, and prolly one of the most real representations of the them this LD. Way to go!
I'm in! Looking forward to ld46 in lockdown!!!
Skip button def coming- thank you all for playing and the feedback!
@odeyalko @overmolo @maxestla @nosfer @nutriz @ted @j-c-one-bit-studio @bastian-bresson @sunnray @fraanns @ukumeme @robowarrior1982
Thank you all for the wonderful compliments and feedback. I have just uploaded a bug fix!
@stefenism Thank you so much! Happy to hear that!
@annie-owl Good ears! Most of the dialogue was recorded on the last day in a panic- Thank you so much for the compliments about art and sound. The "organism" was to have another ending, but yes- you've got the three. Working on adventure jam now with a different game, without any story. Probably should have done the opposite!
@amazura Thank you for your kind words! Yes, everything was made for the LD. We had a rough idea on Friday night that it would be a sort of alien autopsy scenario. While I was working on characters and backgrounds, Anthony and Nikki wrote the script and dialogue. Also, Anthony made the score and sound effects- you can hear more of his work here: http://anthonynovakmusic.com/ We had hoped to record voice overs, but ran out of time to record them- so I went through the script and did them with the built-in mic on my laptop at the last minute. Happy they turned out ok! This is our first time working on a game together, it was a lot of fun- hope we can do more. Thanks for playing!
@no-grapes-games I wonder if "your family" even exists? ;) Your "operation" gameplay was much more polished! Thank you for playing!
@jk5000 Thank you so much! We'll see what we can do!
@team-wala Thank you! The skip button "ESC" was accidentally skipped over in the beginning of the cutscene- it is in the Bug Fix version.
@gorypixels Oh no! It was built on a Surface Book 2- any way you could post your Pro 4 specs? m3? i5? i7? Thanks for trying!
@sam-minh Thank you so much! Sorrow noted and unintentional- we'll try to be more clear in the future. Thanks again- to all- for playing and taking the time to leave feedback.
@curleysam @euforia-games Thank you so much for the compliments and for playing out little game!
@krakadushka Yes! With help! I recommend Visionaire Studio. I couldn't have made the art without Spriter Pro, and I think Anthony was using Logic for the soundtrack, but Audacity really comes through in a pinch! Def needs some work in the art dept, but again, it is insane how much 2D can be done in such a short amount of time-
@poulpint That's okay! Let it sink in- or maybe forget about it! Either way- thank you so much for playing! P.S. I love squids, too.
@43sam Thank you so much for the compliments. I really enjoyed your game as well!
@stefan-jovanovic Thank you! That means so much. We will strive to top it next time! ;)
@team-on Thank you! Big fan of X-COM series. I do not know SCP, but I will check it out!
@max-louis Thank you for playing and for the compliments! So sorry that I missed your stream!
@trexxak It's ok to fail- in fact, some might even think you succeeded ;) And, we love the Flatwoods Monster- in addition, we were definitely inspired by Area 51 and other mid-century lore.
@baconinvader Awesome! Hope we can deliver more and better!
@daniil-tcyvakin Thank you so much!
@madewink Thank you for playing! Rest assured, I think you have reached the limits of what we could accomplish for the jam. We had more in mind for the bucket, but it turned out to be a red herring in this version. Also, thank you for trying the HTML version- I am frustrated that it is not working, but I think I am asking too much of Visionaire's player. Hopefully we can optimize and iron out the kinks for the future. Again, thank you for playing and taking the time to leave honest and detailed feedback!
@gamescodedogs Thank you so much for the compliments and the best wishes- we need that!
@exainz Thank you for your kind words and for playing our little game!
@fatpenguin Thank you! Yes, we need to work on the "The operation tableeeee!!!" XD I agree with you, and it will be the first thing we look at in a postjam vers- well, after the bucket, but right after. Really appreciate all your complements. Let me know if you ever need any voice work! ;)
Thanks again to all for your time and support- it means the world! And, thank you again for YOUR games, this LD has really been a blast!
Wow- really nice graphics and gameplay- you had me playing until I could beat Gymzilla, or is it Gylla?!
Such a cool concept and pro execution! Thanks for the game!
meatball.jpg
Hectic! Fun little game! I had some issues getting started with HTML build- it seemed like it lost focus? I kept reloading and going back and forth into full-screen and I regained control.
stoker.jpg
That small issue aside, I like the controls- they are a little squirrel-y but with the pixel graphics, I assumed that is what you are going for- reminded me of 2600 or NES- The ragtime score really set the mood. I loved the graphics too, and appreciated the color and diversity of each train car.
I think this could be a great prototype for a larger game- built around the history of train lines and robberies.
Maybe instead of an endless points-based arcade style (I'm assuming, based on my play) you could start with a smaller train and get more cars as you progress? Bottom-line, you got me excited and started a brain-storm for sure!
Bravo and congratulations on a fantastic game!
This game is like a memory of a childhood dream. So funny how I keep trying to control camera with the trackpad. Thank you for breaking me free of that scheme for a little bit. Flying feels so good in this- hard to get off the ground and so graceful in the air. You know you have a good game when you learn how to end the game, but you don't, because you just want more. Thanks for the amazing experience!
boid.jpg
So many little piles of pure carbon.
carbon.jpg
What a horrifying and hilarious game. Saturated in moral dilemma! The cute and photo-real juxtaposition kind of recalls an Amanita game. I love it! The scenario also reminded me of the BSG remake- with a Covid-19 twist. The sound effects are spine tingling- from the fiery screams to the cold voice over the loudspeaker. Doubly impressed that this was built from the ground up. Congratulations and thanks for the game!
Awesome and challenging little game! I have yet to summon the unclean one, but I'll be back to try again! Love the accurate reticle- and the weapons feel right- I just need to get gud! Thanks so much for the moody little game!
Having never had access, so cool to be able to play in the style of Zed Ex! Really took me back to the 8bits. I thought of some improvements to gameplay, when i was strugglin' but really, I think all of those "conveniences" would take away from the charm that this little platformer just exudes. All 5's, baby. This is next level LD. Fun, challenging, nostalgic, and short. You left me wanting more.
dun.jpg
Brilliant design! The mental 360 that happened in the first scene! I think the way this game plays with expectations and perspective definitely relates to the theme. Great job and thank you for the game!
The controls are very slippery, the iguana doesn't have enough jump or speed percentage, and the snakes are too fast- in other words, a perfect representation of a real predator/prey relationship!
I think this is is a wonderful jam game. I don't know the last game that had me cringing on the edge of my seat and hanging onto the keyboard like this. I went right down the center.
iguana1.jpg
The snakes are terrifying.
iguana2.jpg
Even when I just went back to check out this right side exploit (or survival of the fittest route, who can say) I was still sure so conservative- certain that a snake was gonna pop out and end me- phew.
iguana3.jpg
Also, pleased to play a 3d godot game! Thanks so much for the game!
br.jpg I mean c'mon- this is amazing! Vampy GTA?! So- I only made it through two feedings- I didn't eat enough and died in my sleep. Superb art, fantastic music and wonderful SFX- Will be back to see if I can get in a tussle with the cops. This is a perfect idea. Can't wait to see more. Please add more drift. Thanks for the game!!
Oh wow- I kinda wrote this off for a moment because of that bug- so glad I came back. This is so good. Very innovative and super cool. The graphics are great- the interface is juicy and the sound is so good. I just kept the start screen creepy chill jam on for some ambience after. One of the best of the jam for sure - why? Jeff.
ohjeff.jpg
Whoa- very intense little game! I played HTML and it worked very well. I love the controls. It reminded me of the sniper sequences in Golgo 13 for NES and La Croix Pan by Joshua Nuernberger. I love how the music rises- I only wish it kept going- maybe a Shepard's Tone would work better? Creating the illusion of constant rising? Less dynamic across the track tho- Very well done- thank you for the game!
I love the mood of this game. Sure, the controls are kinda clunky, but the isometric view is cool, and for 72 hours... c'mon- it's great! I made it 7 orders before I called it quits. Having grown up in a rural area- I think it is spot on as far as life on a farm. Work work work. Maybe with a little story in-between the orders, there would be more incentive to continue playing? Great job and thank you for the game!
farm.jpg
Awesome game- reminds me of Nuclear Throne! Had some issues with the movement, but wow- 3 days? I'm impressed! The title image drew me in for sure. Love to hate the bats in this, and when the tall dude teleported for the first time- I freaked out! I did have this occasional issue while running the game. marrow.jpg Oh- also, thank you for the in depth tutorial- it def made the experience more enjoyable for me- though I couldn't ever activate an upgrade. Huge Map! Thanks so much for the game!
Really impressive work for an LD! Love the cute style with the gory premise! ;) I dug out a steam controller- but, no go- is there a way to make that work? Either way, keys worked absolutely fine for me. I did notice a bug on the menu screen. It seems the soundtrack re-triggered- maybe from hovering over one of the buttons?! Thanks for the gorgi little underwater game!
Feels so good! The scale reminds me of Lawrence of Arabia in 70mm! Played on web- downloading now. After playing the dl- it is, as you said, smoother, even tighter gameplay, and the ability to turn was not working for me on web- it made me question why you had the crosshair- now i know. Really love the mood of this. Thanks for the game! I didn't get very far, but I will keep trying!
rebutia.jpg
Beautiful art and UI! I would love a little more hand holding in the tutorial- and it seemed as though my cursor was offset so that it was difficult to control exactly where I wanted to put the pieces. Also, the music very well produced, but a little repetitive. Love the concept and can't wait to see where you take it! Thanks so much for the cat fun factory!
Wow- great job! This is really impressive as a whole- I am loving your art and the ambience that you created here. The stress is almost insurmountable! I also appreciated your well-developed menu and the journal as a mechanic. Thanks for the angst-y game!
hj.jpg Love this little light year sim! Such a good start- you can add some juice and this game with be amazing! I want more feedback as far as when to maintain- and maybe some reasons to throughout the maintenance schedule all together. Def fits the theme! Jim was 37 and Pem was 28. She can sleep more through anything! ;)
I hate to say it- but I had the same problem as @gorypixels Thought you should know. Hmmm- I'm playing on a Surface Book 2- had a mouse plugged in. Removed- restarted- no luck. What's with these iPads any way?! ;p I though this was supposed to be a computer?! Looking forward to try again on desktop tomorrow.
@binaryspark Works for me too! Had the same experience as @gorypixels again- so assuming the first round is intentional- or part of a workaround. Thank you for the patch! Solid little RPG- the naming system really adds a lot. I like the graphics and the interface. Heads up- when I died- it seemed to softlock again- or something?! I had to quit and restart to go again. Also, thank you for uploading the timelapse- so cool to see all the work you did. Congratulations and thanks for the game!
Love the character design and colors- the graphics in general are fabulous. The sound really brought me back to the 8 bit loops of Nintendo. More scenarios and maybe some different enemy types and Robotron beware! ;) Thanks for the game!
So good- great story, tight gameplay, gorgeous graphics, and soundtrack! So much depth! I used the SMG class and never switched. I love the eyes in the water!! Löve2D?! Lua for the win! Thank you for the spooky game!
Definitely one of my favorites this jam! Perfect mood- love the Quest for Fire scenario. The sprites are perfect- love that you have "bullets" raining from the sky. So many times, I just saw an opening and chose to take it, not knowing the outcome. At peace now, knowing the flame will go on to survive! Congratulations on such a well-rounded game! Thank you!
Such an amazing entry. A lot going on here! I love the physics, art, soundtrack, and tight mechanics. Some of the game was hard to achieve with my laptop trackpad, but I will try again with a mouse- this entry earned it. I was only able to defeat 3- will see if I can beat that.
meat.jpg
Thanks for such a gross and moody lil charmer! Great job!
Love your take on the theme and the gorgeous little world you created. Very cute little blabbermouths! I last played single-player, but so much more fun with two. After a while- news stream stopped? I just had to take a hit in views and it restarted.
sock.jpg
The lighting and design reminded me of Media Molecule's LBP, so juicy and responsive! Great job! The eye brow control is comedy gold!
I love all the care put into the design of this game. The character art is stellar and the mechanics- especially the need to enjoy the last beer while dashing away even though it clouds your vision- just great! Thanks for the game! I went from 30 - 60 -

Very difficult for me- but I'm not coordinated. Had a look at the other comments and thought I'd take another go. I think the problem is- I was playing on a laptop touchpad. Spent a little more time and got through the horrors! Worked best for me with the keys and touchscreen. Love the concept and the art- the burning fings- so cool. Great job and thanks for the game!
finger.jpg
lol no offense- this is the only screenshot I was able to grab before my soul was extinguished ;)
dance.jpg
Hard to keep the beat and get a good screenshot! At first I was bothered by the movement speed, but that was because I missed the instruction about timing the spacebar- that was a big help. Ooo then that dance party got started! Thanks for the fun game!
Played on web first- even with disclaimer. Made a note to come back- glad I did. Airy little story. Love the graphics, game play, sparse scary sound effects, and the hopeful ending. Great game. Reminded me a bit of FAR: Lone Sails which I loved as well. Thank you for the game!
Love the art and music and the feel of the platforming. I wondered if the "charge" move would be more useful- and it was! You taught me through play really well. Also, loved the care that went into the interface main health bar of the character. Thanks for the game!
Love this game! A few bugs, but extremely playable! I started without reading your tutorial here and there was a bug in the in-game tutorial so I just went with it. Needless to say, I lost fairly quickly. Came back and starting fishing heavy and producing more villagers and it was smooth sailing from then on. Love the art and how you use the camera to increase tension! Sound effects and soundtrack are very on point. Like @lateralis said- the only time I was really disappointed is when it was all over. Fantastic what you were able to accomplish in so little time! Bravo!
tribe.jpg
Very nice! Reminds me of Lasagna Boy and Luigi's mansion and Neverending Nightmares- so much art here! Fantastic character design, and pretty solid gameplay. The only thing I want is a "going upstairs" animation- "going down" looked great- especially sneaking! Great job, and thanks for the game!!!
the_daily_scoop.jpg
Here's the news- this game is brilliant. I did not read the description, so everything was a surprise. You really captured the stress of retail/food service in the mechanics of the gameplay.
"Oh shit- I made the wrong ice cream cone" was a thought that actually went through my head. Trying to get rid of that cone and watching the customers slowly get pissed off- all the while glancing at the clock spinning in the corner... I'm still chuckling reliving it- omg- the twist- the release- and the consequences- perfectly executed in my opinion. The newspaper cut scenes were the cherry on top.
You have a wonderful sense of comedy and drama- not only within the plot and mechanics- but through the audio and visuals as well. I mean, the characters are very reminiscent of ice cream cones. Super impressive jam game. And the self-reflexivity! I think every game developer should be required to play this game. No matter how hard you try to please everyone, mistakes will be made, and the monsters are coming.
the_empty_cone.jpg
This was a challenge! Occasionally I was really confused as to where my character went to- Something as "simple" as a chime or a graphic letting me know might be a helpful addition. As far as the mechanic of staying in the shadows- I love it. I am just reading your notes- which I avoid as standard until after the game, but you address the issues I had with the web version. Over all a nice chill jam! Thanks! Oh, also- you should check out Retrobulbar- https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/retrobulbar it is different, but I thought of it immediately- probably because you share an abundance of yellow, but also- puzzles.
Personally, I love the learning curve here. It took me a couple rounds to get into it- but the ambience created by your audio and graphics made that intriguing. The look and feel of this game is great, like a Lynchian nightmare produced by Midway Games in the 90's. Was rating high in my opinion, but the PC GAMER and PS1 ephemera took it up to all 5s. ;) Thank you and great work!
dc.jpg
I just pretended that I was playing the music while pressing "QSLP" Cute graphics and story. Played through twice to see if there was any difference, and yes- the keys needed were different! My favorite line:
damn.jpg
Great work and thanks for the game!
Really impressive for 24 hours! I love the western theme, the Leone reference, the character design, and the audio. And that Daisy is precious- I really wanted to save it. Thanks for the game!
I really appreciate how you achieved "hard to play" on so many levels, but I still was determined to go through it. Personally, I find this to be a really sad game. But, I'm filling in the blanks. The worst kind of horror. Love the graphics and light effects. Style and feel reminded me of Inside, but with a much more hopeful ending- maybe... I was going to post my favorite image, but I'll leave it up to everyone else to find. Fantastic work, you two, as always. Thank you so much for the experience!
Love everything about this! Such a well-rounded and functional game. Great art and so many cool animations. The world you have built here is awesome and led me to check out your other LD games. Revolutionaries and Pixels is super cool! Looking forward to more. Thanks for the game!
Wow- just so gorgeous- very tense! Love the look- I think I would enjoy more with a controller than keyboard. Very polished and professional entry! The echo-locator effect is a gem! Thanks so much for the game and congrats on creating such a dreadful mood!
Simple- yes, but a great start and proof of concept. Bravo! Fun mini-games and could definitely use some more, but it's a compo! Extra points for Wolmar and that truck full of meat! Great job and thanks for the lil game!
tiger_king.jpg
@neuronezero Thank you for the response! I was definitely led through the game by the highlighted buttons- but got stuck at that part- moving toward the destination, but at only at a clip of 5 m/s. I was only ever able to add 5 units- and managed to fill the power reserves. Will try the update. Thanks so much for the game!
Wow- super impressive- 3D in game maker?! I thought that was just a myth! Seriously, Played on web and I think the controls feel amazing. Kinda blew my mind with the view change. Everything seems really responsive, and clear instructions help avoid any confusion. Reminded me of Tron, but like for real. Great work!
tank1.jpg
tank2.jpg
Thanks for the game!!!
mv.jpg Wow. Mood is off the charts! I couldn't seem to interact? After a while I noticed that pressing S seemed to trigger an SFX? Not sure. Reminded me of Tamagotchi and Folding@Home. Frames were low- gorgeous visuals and the music reminded me of early Brad Fidel. I am not familiar with VFX graph, so please take my comments witha grain of salt- Amazing though that this is all particles! I will def check out Beleth. Thanks for the experience! mv2.jpg (edit)I feel like the bright particle cloud might be interactive, but maybe my laptop is too slow? Surface Book 2 Nvidia 1060.
Love this idea! The concept is solid and has a lot of potential. Looking forward to see where you take this.
What a slaughter-house! First Pico8 game I've payed this jam. Love the art style. Just longing for music and/or sfx. Great little game- thank you!
pico8.jpg
The art, sound, and story are serene. I only had an issue with controlling the crab- and understanding what to do with the pandas. All the other mini-games were spot on. Also, the end scenes for each game were so cool and thoughtful.
turtles.jpg
Thank you for a wonderful break from killin' stuff.
Had an issue on the first battle- I guess LD has me conditioned to be on the lookout- so, I was sure it was a game-breaking bug- I WAS WRONG!
1.jpg
But, I can't see the HP range!!!
I took a moment and realized that the resolution of my monitor might be the problem (on Surface Book 2) I set to 1920 x 1080 and FIXED! Thought you should know.
2.jpg
Then, I started questioning the complexity of the gameplay- but strode forward. It wasn't until the next match that I really started to see the potential of this mechanic.
I wonder if each player had the ability to attack, protect, or heal- how would that change the gameplay loop? It was pretty amazing how you were training me to think ahead. Love the graphics. I feel some variance in the soundtrack could actually benefit this game- Overall, fantastic job. A compo game with this much gameplay and polish is very impressive. Thank you for the game!
edit: After reading through the other comments- I agree with you that this could be a great math teaching tool!!!
@stefan-jovanovic Hi! Thank you! I thought I did- but just looked and if I did :o - it didn't take. Should be tabbed now! Sorry about that!
So gorgeous. Fantastic animation and sound work. The style reminds me of http://www.joerichardson.games/ who you should check out if you haven't. Your mood is of course much more arcade-y and intense! Is it odd I was also reminded of Midsommar?! Awesome game! Thank you so much!
So good. Funny, solid gameplay, and a surprisingly little platformer. The achievements really kept me going. My favorite achievement?
the_void.jpg
Would love a checklist at the end. I didn't see half of them because I was too busy wiping sweat from my eyes. ;)
Love the art in this- the wall jump and combo mechanic really allow for some frenzied gameplay. I am not a big fan of the WASD controls for this type of action, though I may be in the minority, but happy you had arrow keys as an option. Would love to see controller support. All-in-all a very solid entry and the soundtrack- especially the "game over" music- is epic. Great job and thanks for the game!
It was really difficult for me to try to pilot the ship and flip the levers and avoid the baddies. Actually, I never lived long enough to "Stoke It!"
I almost feel like it would be more fun if the ship was on auto-pilot, or on rails- as crazy as that may sound. If only because of all the other details and game play you have crammed into the game.
The graphics are amazing! The art-style def recalls an alt-history 1990's high-end computer game adaptation of Lynch's Dune. Can't wait to see what you do with this post jam. Congrats and thanks for the game!
Jumped right in at the end, and it was like 16 bit FF all over again. I've not played many RPG Maker games, but I loved this. So many attacks, so many items- I'm really impressed. Thank you for the game!
Have played a few times- first on web, without reading any grave stones. Realized I could do that and downloaded the windows version. Interesting- the mix of characters. Not quite sure how to form the "best" team, but I soldiered on- the graphic style is so cool and the audio creates a chilling mood. Love the digging mechanic- also, the art inside the graves is so cool. Accidentally hit ESC and quit the game- went back to web. Still not sure what combination of knaves and heroes might fit best together- I must have taken too long, after awhile, the WebGL crashed and I will read through the comments above and try .exe again. Really cool mood and story, and the necromancer is a great character! Would love a bit more of the battle at the end- even if only sound effects- something to stretch out the tension a little longer. Will you work on this anymore after the jam? Either way, thank you for the game!
edit: After reading the comments- I will try again later. Again, so cool!
md.jpg I love your cover art- def reminiscent of Atari box art! I ran into a few bugs- at least perceived, but maybe I was missing with the button presses? Would love a different layout button layout to make play a little easier. Love the graphics in general and funny voice work! Thanks for the game!
Hahaha! Love the concept- such a good idea- graphics and implementation are great too. I was able to play for a moment as a guy- but I censored a user too early. I haven't been bale to play since, just keeps crashing. Will check back later on. Awesome work. Thanks for the game!
switch.jpg
So much art! Love all the aliens. Really impressive how much variation you were able to accomplish in such a short amount of time. The gameplay was tight, and the only thing I was craving was a little more story behind each of the aliens- maybe as a win condition for each success? Great job and surprising amount of content for a jam game. Also, cool to see a Godot game. Thanks for the game!
Wow- so cool to see that you used the Game of Life pattern. Blue planes work great, but what do I do with red planes? Send them down? Try to send them far? I was a little confused about that, but maybe I missed something. Cool concept and definitely hitting the theme! Looking forward to where this goes next. Thanks for the game!
burned.jpg
Great work! I love the style and chill mood. I found a lot of food- but few cats. I shudder to think of all the poor cats that didn't survive the flood! Thanks for the positive game! Kinda reminded me of an Orisinal flash game- which I mean as a compliment.
cats.jpg
Wow. I really felt the anxiety of each conversation- and I am so happy with the ending- it really lifted the cloud of not being able to save some of the earlier relationships. It really pays off the setup- and calls into question whether anything is a choice, a concept that people who don't suffer from depression may not fully understand. Thank you for this game!
Fantastic! I really enjoyed how the story unfolded- and everything gelled; audio, art, and game play. I totally freaked out when things changed- how human of me. Wonderful work! Thanks so much for the game!
I could feel the dread creep into camp the night before we rounded the last bend. It seemed as if this whole expedition had been doomed from the start. Oh, we had been warned many times, but heeded none. The pass had been so far unforgiving, and many good allies had fallen to the enemy. If my instincts were correct; the worst was yet to come. As the sun peeked over the snow-capped mountains, I cinched my herb poultice tight and loaded the last of our ammunition into the Colt Navy. Our provisions were low, but with a little luck- we might just make it out and onward to the promised lands. We might just- The sound of gunfire shattered my daydream. I scanned the horizon- and the puffs of revolver smoke filled my guts with doom. In that instant, I knew the truth- today, victory was not ours to be had... Thanks for the game!!!
This is perfect- gorgeous art, unbelievably smooth game play, great sound and AAA design. Thank you for adding SPACE as an alternative to right-click. This was a lifesaver while playing on laptop touchpad. 5,5,5,5,5,5,5,5

nund.jpg
Wow, just played your 45 entry- so good! You dummies make some amazing games!!!
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/the-legend-of-nudacus
@dummydojo My pleasure! I found Nudacus difficult, but not unfair. I really enjoyed it. A good balance of brute strength and naked vulnerability with a bit of luck! That being said, Turtle Daddy is def next level. Thanks for the games!
Hi! I am unable to play your game- I tried in Firefox, but it did not load. It loaded to the menu screen in Chrome, but I was unable to use any of the buttons. This error popped up when I tried in Microsoft Edge.
lasthealer.jpg
I will check back later to see if there is an update. Looking forward!
k.jpg This is so cool- solid platforming. Simple and effective graphics/anims. Love the self reflexive and engaging story. (Signposting is superb in this- you got me with that first lever- total suprise- perfect game moment, when I fell!) I got stuck in the polys on the next segment (see pic, also- i thought i picked up a blue diamond thing but now i don't see it in the HUD?) would have loved to jump out and keep going. I'll be back! Thanks so much for the game!
@gabriel-pittol Thanks for the reply and the info- love this game!
Had a few issues with the controls at first, but resolved after I got used to them. The collisions seemed a little buggy, but it also seemed like you accounted for that, i.e. Lisa gets pushed off the far right ledge and disappears- but re-spawns back, so that was good. I wasn't really able to tell- but does pushing Lisa out of the way of the owl's pine cone bombs help? It seemed like once they were launched- they would hit. I couldn't ever get up the ladder, and ended up just shooting into the air- sometimes that helped, sometimes not. Cute characters and an ominous ambient soundtrack! Good job!
That is too bad. Love your walk cycle and looking forward to this when it is complete. Don't get too upset- it happens. But, yeah- you should complete this when you can! Hope your team is safe!
The font is hard to read, but I still love it. I love the scale of this game too. There is no way I am ever going to beat it. I like the art, but couldn't manage the mechanics. Thanks for the game!
jump.jpg
^^ I got real high on this jump, but missed the screenshot!
Gorgeous. Great idea for a walking simulator- love mood that you captures with the soundscapes and sparse graphics. I was sure that I should protect the candle from the wind, but unclear what to do with the other sounds. Very horrific to be chased through the dark!!! Also, love the menu and cello(?) throbs with the buttons. Impressive work! Congratulations and thanks so much for the game!
I just played on web no problems- (firefox win i7 gtx 1060) well, low frames, but I can't believe the graphics, and AI, and map size for a 3D web game. Really impressive! Big fan of the squatch, glad he's back. Fantastic work!
bf.jpg
Love this- def reminded me of Keep Talking- love the mini-games, but had a a few bugs with the web version. Couldn't get out of the tutorial screen.
nuke.jpg
Downloaded win vers and had a much better experience- though still some bugs-
nuke2.jpg
All-in-all great job! A much more pointed comedic take than Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes.
Wow- I clicked on this because of the cover image, looking forward to a simple flappy bird rip off- I was WRONG. This is so good, so well thought out and a great concept. By far- one of my favorites from this jam. My face matched the mother bird's the first time the SPOILER stupid little bird fell and died- OMG. Great animations- cool levels, can't wait to see more! I think this could be a best seller for sure. Great job and thank you so much for the game!
Fantastic use of theme to convey the politics of the arena! This is a propaganda tool like pro-wrestling! Amazing work for 3 days- I love gladiator games and I don't know of any game that does this quite like you do. My fav is prolly Domina, but just played this by @dummydojo (their entry for the last LD)
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/the-legend-of-nudacus
retiree.jpg
Great job! I hope you put more into this!
Yeah, I'm impressed with this being a first entry, too. Fun and expressive graphics, amazing sound, and a real difficult game! I hate those lights!!! But we did get mauled by a dog and then run over by an exploding car. Wow! Smithereens! Thank you so much for the game! Can't wait to see what you accomplish in the future!
Love what you have done here, against all opposition! Simple, but so effective. The concept and execution reminds me a bit of Oddworld or Badland. Fantastic pixel gore! Wonderful job and thanks for the game!
chick.jpg
Good job! I think you should go back to top down if you put more work into this. Or, maybe, there is a way to connect the two genres?! Def had some bugs- or what I thought were bugs- try to shoot right- bullets go left. But this game is exactly what LD is all about. Testing new ideas, making something, and putting it out there. Keep up the good work and thanks for the game!
drskull.jpg
Gorgeous. Jaw-droppingly gorgeous. I was playing on Surface Book 2 and had problems with the trackpad- (a windows problem) used the touch screen instead- problems solved. What a fantastic little world you have built here. Thank you for the game!
tumble.jpg
5* for Dingus. I have a question- are you right or left-handed? Ambidextrous? I am right-handed and have little to no coordination- oh this game messed with me- even tried crossing my hands on the keyboard! So I found a friend to play. Much more manageable! Maybe not intended, but I really had fun with this as a local 2P. Great character designs. Thank you for the weapon power ups- Would love 4-way fire- at least, but get that the LR fire is part of the challenge. Love the character design- Gundog is my new fav. And that engorged Ubergine!!! Fabulous little world here. Also, really appreciated the menu and especially the full-screen option! Thanks for the game!
Ooo- I love the hand-drawn animations! What a great little team up- Interesting to read your inspiration. I had some issues with the movement, but for me- the charm of the art more than made up for that. Love the mechanic of being able to control two "thingies" at the same time. The potential of this mechanic is very promising. Thank you for the game!
This really has some potential- I love how "free" the map seems, unlike most traditional bullet hell games which are kind of on rails. Had some issues with collision and draw- hit a few times by what must have been invisible bullets. Need a restart at the end with such a arcade-y game. Let me get back to dying! ;) I hope that you go further with this! Thanks for the game!
I think with some tweaks to the character movement and camera would allow you to get away with an insta kill in the water pools. Have you seen this game? https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/the-seeker I love how much care you put into the story, sound, and graphics. The subtle high rez smoke/fog in the foreground is so cool! Also, love the "voice" of your character- it is easy to fall for Ignis Morty. All-in-all, great job and good luck! Thanks for the game!
Nice! Love the scale! The gameplay kinda reminds me of Missile Command- only cooler because you are a wizard riding a giant! Seemed as though the kinematics kinda broke on the Monster- and the leg was messed up- but maybe that was broken by the stones? I'm not certain. Anyway- great job and thank you for the game!
mons1.jpg
mons2.jpg
I think you broke Ludum Dare 46. Intense and reverent. Thank you for the game.
Ooo thooose Sleeeeems.
Mom! Very nice graphics and smart simple style. Haha- I could only ever last (2) days. Great job- would love to last longer, but also love if that's the point! Thanks so much for the Hikikomori Simulator!
Congratulations on your first entry! I like how you had your tutorial on the end screen. The game loop was so quick, that this caused no frustration and added some humor. Great job!
bugs.jpg
In all its simplicity, I found this game actually plays up the anxiety of shopping during a pandemic. The soundtrack with the incessant beeping and occasional cough is perfect. Juggling the list and basket and overlaying the two "inventories" really reminded me of real life shopping. I managed to get through without spraying anyone- which I figured was fairly rude. ;) Thanks for the game!
congrads.jpg
Yeah, I would love keyboard controls as well! Such a gorgeous game, tho. Every element is amazing- very cool music! Super juicy as a whole and I think you knocked the death anim out of the park! Thanks for the game!
space_ghost.jpg
The art is gorgi! Love the whole feel- I don't know how to feed the dog- I could only get 1/3 and 2/3- I thought I was about to get there- and then Max died again. :( can't wait to see where you go with this. Thanks for the game!
dog.jpg
I'm proud! This is the first typing game I have played in LD46. I would have liked to spell words- maybe keywords that made sense with the scenario? Personally, I think that the movement kind of takes away from the typing game play- but it definitely makes the game more difficult! Great job entering the compo and thanks for the game!
Oh- I loved this intro. Loved the little aliens- reminded me of a planet of Number Munchers- I was kind of overwhelmed with the gameplay at first, but then got the hang of it. Kinda reminded me of music pattern game- like DDR or Rock Band. Saw a lot of this.
mothership.jpg
This is about as far as I got-
mothership1.jpg
I found that my skill level wasn't a match- and actually if I mashed the ASD I was just as successful. I don't know if that was random or a bug- it seemed like the colors weren't matching so I thought I would mention. Also, I was expecting the bullets to die when they hit the edge shield, but they seemed to cease on the center of the ship. All-in-all, amazing work. Congrats and thanks for the game!
I didn't mind the controls- though if they were tightened up- I prolly wouldn't mind either. I found a couple bugs- when flying to the left- the mama birb thought it had landed in some areas of the sky
birb1.jpg
Then, the dead baby birb ate the food I was bringing to the live one- or is there a way to resuscitate the dead birb?! Also, it seemed as though it was singing- even though it was dead, or sleeping...
birb2.jpg
Great job on a pretty solid compo! Thanks for the game!
Hahaha! Love it! Great job completing this for the jam! Hope you do go futher. Love the elements of hunger vs suspicion. Cultist simulator with Lovecratian tendencies? Yeah- I'm drinking that kool-aid. I would love to see some splash art for a win condition- Eldritch God taking over- interesting how you can really game the system when you get enough followers. Fantastic job! Hit me up if you ever need any art in the future. Thank you for the game! 7days.jpg 7days2.jpg
Really cool- wish we could have accomplished surgery like this in our game! Great job!
I was able to mash my way though this- love the graphics and the kind of rail-style shooter. Particle effects were nice, and all I really wanted was some tabulation of my progress, sound effects/music, and a more obvious and instant indicator of getting hit. Thanks so much for the game!
Gorgeous animations! Looking forward to additional development!
I love the character design! The interface was a little difficult to get a hang of- seemed kind of buggy at times and tight at others. Look out for Winged Claws!!! Poor snowball...
snowball.jpg
Very addictive! I love the graphics and sounds- Omg- it is so stressful when those candy bubbles are invading en masse. I made it 45 something seconds, and couldn't beat that- then I had a look at the comments and using the "lure" technique I made it all the way to 62.55. 95?! You gotta be kidding me!!! Love that this was made in GM as well- I am still hearing that can crunch! Thanks for the game!
Amazing graphics and cool soundtrack! I had some frame rate issues- but it ran. The map is huge! After I saved the plant- I went back to explore the landscape- I made it to the edge of the world!!! It was actually really fun to sail the "Tin Can" across the dunes to the music. Unfortunately, I had to sacrifice the plant to do so. :( Thanks for the beautiful game!
you_plant_died.jpg
@mpk90 Thank you! I think that the biggest reason is the HD 2D sprites and animations. I think it might be a couple hundred MBs if the main character were 3D, or if I built in Unreal. There are some ways to optimize in Visionaire, i.e. scale individual images and convert to webp, but I tend to skip those for jam submission. Any other suggestions are welcome! Thanks for playing!
@bananaguybob your wishes are coming true this week sometime, just have to solve a shader bug!
@zubspace Thank you!!! Yeah- the lighting. I will see if I can tweak that in the coming weeks. Thanks for playing and leaving feedback!
@helen Yay! Thank you for playing! There are two endings, but they might require the patience of a Tyrannosaur. ;)
What a beautiful heart-breaker. I love the audio gameplay, and on one hand I appreciate that alone and it makes the game super cozy. On the other, you could add a losing condition that builds to game over if you miss too many objects on the way down. Either way, I think this is a wonderful jam that is such a treat to play. The art and animation are perfect. It reminds me of the extinct Orisinal: Morning Sunshine flash game site. RIP. Thanks for the beautiful game!
Oooo. You got me going there for awhile. Sweet graphics, tough platforming, and some driving (Eric Matyas) music? I'm in. I bypassed the second lava pit and went to the third, but it snickered and blocked off the second anyway- I was still able to sacrifice in the third pit a couple times. Very difficult, but that seems to be the intention. Maybe needs some coyote time? Just so I can break my personal record of four sacrifices. ;) Thanks for the game!
image0(9).jpeg
Nice! This feels really good to play and hits the shmup vibe- I love the lore, and the title is what got me here. :D Controls are tight, the art is cool, and the music is on point. The powerups are intricate and the balance of difficulty keeps you coming back. My only complaint, I had a hard time understanding my vulnerability. The hitbox seems buggy- def had some shot go through my chest, and other times- my toe seemed to catch every bullet?! Other than that- perfect! Congratulations! Reminded me of how much I wanted to play Gaiares as a kid. Thanks for the shooter!
@ryusui Thank you! Looks like I'm jumping back in!
IMG_8001.jpg
Eradicated! Now, I just have to end it with 100% world remaining! ;) Thanks again for the game!!!
image0(8).jpeg
Very solid game. Love the respawn mechanic and how I learned to use it to traverse the level. I did not experience any "clicking", however, FYI- the web game did crash at the point in the photo. Win 11, firefox. Fabulous little platformer. Great use of the theme. Thanks for the game!
IMG_7805.jpg image0(6).jpeg
Found the juice slider! Love this- but I can't beat 41, even with the juice turned up. I'll try ooooone more time. Fabulous song. Thanks for the game!
image1(2).jpeg
I love the style of this. Def feels like public transit. The interactions didn't consistently appear for every stop, and after a bit, seemed to stop appearing at all. I kept at it tho, never got arrested, but loved seeing who, in your cast of goofballs, got on at the next stop. Checking out your other games, now. Great work and thank you for the game!
image0(6).jpeg
Hahaha. I got carcinazized. Right as it happened- my comp crashed- FYI. Was playing on Surface Book 2 / Firefox- maybe my fault? I was able to de-dock and it came back. Fun art and hilarious sound effects. Love the poster art- where is that from? Was it inspiration? Thanks for the game!
image0(6).jpeg
What a mix of comfort and anxiety! I love the simplicity, character design, and animations. I agree that some music would take this to the next level. What a great concept, and I could def see this as the base for a much larger puzzle game. I am reminded of Lemmings, Pikmin, and anything by Amanita Design. Thanks so much for the clever little game!
What a cool format. Reminds me of Dungeon Master. Nice chunks of well written text interspersed with cool graphics. I love how much you have put into the fight mechanic. Congrats and thanks for a cool text-based Soulslike!
IMG_7810.jpg
Fun to experiment with- thanks for allowing me to continue after the extinction! Love the look! Thanks for the lovely sandbox.
Love the style. What did you build with? I highly recommend trying Visionaire Studio if you haven't already. I was a little confused at first- I thought I saw some controls somewhere, but couldn't find on itch.io. Finally, I found them here! I knew that I saw them somewhere. I picked up everything before, but, now, with a working inventory- the game really shaped up! Fantastic and detailed job. Really impressed that this is a compo. The "achievements" are a nice touch! Steve is a cat killer. Great job and thanks for the game!
I want more! What a fabulous execution. I love how you can change the mood by retyping the words. Would be cool to tally the characters delayed while you try to guess the others. Love that there was no time in this world. Great atmosphere. Thanks for the game. Looking forward to where you take this!

Awesome! Love the simplicity- and the slug murder- heheh. But wait? IS SHE SLEEPING?! Or did I take too long?! OMG- I did take too long, but I gave her the pills! Great little game. Thanks!
Awesome. Just awesome. Thanks for the multiplayer game!!!
Mooooom! Love how much character is expressed through the portraits. The little animated details, the rpg style, and the shader effects; it all really works and really hits the nostalgia. Great use of the theme. Thanks for the gorgeous little game!
The first thing I did was climb the volcano and jump in- hahaha. I walked the whole island and then I found the key- then I drowned. Must've been a trap. You should have seen me sneak up to that key the next time- only to figure out the island was sinking- haha. I was stuck on the carrot badge for a good long while. I like how the boats on the island have holes in them- save one. Very challenging- great job! Thanks for the game!

Wow! Not what I was expecting at all! Very cool character designs and illustrations. The gameplay is slick and feels good. I didn't know if what I was doing would effect the world, and then the snail dog came back with a metal tail! I couldn't advance from there, but I see where you are going- I think. The hang in there poster is a nice touch. This has some great potential if you decide to go further. Thanks for the game!

Fantastic! Hardcore. Played once and lost. Gave it another go and wow! Had a real nail-biter of an end game, Al Natural. 5s. Thank you all for the game! Playing again.
All fives in my opinion. Great game. Well written, very minimal, but sooo effective. You hooked me early and really got my imagination working all the way through to the fab payoff. Hard not to spoil. Love the sound design and use of theme. Thanks for the game!
What an experience! I took to the zero g right away. Very cool puzzle sequence and the controls are super effective. I love the rotation controls! Thanks for the game!
IMG_7864.jpg
Love this! The sound is fab and Mike Vendetti is pro. I think that the controls are perfect for this- the clumsiness of the frostbite setting in before you notice. The story is fascinating as a hook. I love how I burnt up my matches accidentally. I will replay. Thanks for the great game!
image0(8).jpeg
Was a little confused at first, but got the hang of it soon enough. I too had a easier time with horizontal cuts. Looking forward to more variety, but the core gameplay is there. Congrats and thanks for the game!
Super impressive! Def brought me back to Mario Kart. So sad when I run out of juice though. I wanna keep heading to that Earthset! Thanks for the amazing compo game!
Love the colorful art and animations. Reminds me of Don Hertzfeldt. Beautiful and unnerving. The music is perfect. I think you could ramp up the difficulty and keep me playing longer. I could only save 3 single socks, but I was playing with a touch pad- so I wasn't able to react as fast as I wanted. Thanks for the game!
Beautiful colors! You have so many cool game mechanics going on in here. I love the whole concept, and really took to exploring the world and having fun. I was stacking llamas, scoring goals, and jump glitching up the right side- or trying to. I almost got up to the top. Almost. I think its possible. Anyway- thanks for the cool little game!
image0(6).jpeg
Cool! First UE game I've played this jam. The scale of this is breathtaking. I love all the details you have in here; the laser blasts, sounds, atmospheric effects. Are those volumetric clouds? Any UE widget use def gets an upvote, and you've got at least two! Great use of theme and nice big download. ;) Thanks for the game!
I leave broken. Would love inverted controls for this! Also, would love some sound fx and some music. Very cool shooter! Love the art and design. Flight controls are great though and the explosions are sick. Kinda has a Star Fox feel- really polished movement and interface. Congrats on your first submission and thanks for the game!
I finally gave up at 4000 points. Screen Shot 2018-04-30 at 8.56.30 PM.png Reminds me of Ridiculous Fishing! Love the feel of the ball sailing through the air! I'd like to see whoever dumped that boot factory into the ocean and give them a piece of my mind. Thanks for the great game!
Awesome. Works fine on Firefox. Love the "Turrets"- hate the birds. Especially with the "death screen"- hate those birds. Great job- you packed a lot into this game!
Fantastic animation! Smooth and cool gameplay. Took me 10 restarts to beat the AI and even then only with patience and by two points. Superb all-around. Thanks!
Fan of this lil' punch out. Gorgi graphics and perfect sounds. I think it just needs a parry and/or defense, but then again- maybe I missed the point. Great entry- BTW-fun as local two-player! Thanks for the game!
Those dastardly LuchaDorks. They had me on the run until I realized they couldn't hurt me. Gorgeous graphics and animations. Really slick gameplay. Thanks so much for the game! Also- loved Chill Bill! Keep 'em coming!
Screen Shot 2018-04-30 at 6.26.33 PM.png
I was kind of giving up on the last level- but I pulled through! Love the title, and the gameplay was challenging. Graphics were hilarious. Especially love the look of the blue guy. ;) Played on mac and touchpad was pretty humbly. Thanks for the game!
Amazing. So difficult! Love the graphics and the all around feel. Love getting kicked back to the previous level! ;p Great combo for the compo!
Love the illustration style. Great animations. P.S. Nice buttholes!
Played on Mac with touchpad- was a little difficult- will have to try again with touch screen as intended. The list of fish was awesome- when that popped up I thought- "okay- I'm gonna be here awhile." Then, I kept catching the same fish- and then other fish seemed too difficult or impossible to beat- again, probably because of the touchpad.
Would love more variety in the raps- though thought the kind of Amanita scat-style was cool.
Would love if you could tap the bobber up and down while you wait- or certain taps might be good for catching certain fish, or you tap out the beat for the type of fish in the up coming battle. Just some thoughts, thanks to your fantastic little game which has my mind racing.
This is far as I got before I went crazy.
Screen Shot 2018-05-03 at 3.16.09 PM.png
Never saw the Big Fish-beat spaghetti fish once- then lost to spaghetti fish and it was removed from the boat. Couldn't beat it again. One of the hardest games I've played- even tried on mobile- could tap much faster, but still too slow. I guess I just don't have what it takes. (Shakes head slips out of the boat into the water. Treads and swims away as the sun sinks slowly into the horizon.)
Ha! Loved this! Great mashup- I don't know if I have ever felt such a combination of frustration and satisfaction! ;) And that was before I actually caught a fish! Fabulous concept and superb delivery. Reminds me of Odell Lake and some sort of Lego Racer. Love the cursing fish racers when they are stuck. Will be back to play more! Thanks for the great game!
Trash compactor! As noted, I played HTML on mac via Safari and was pretty slow whenever the cubes were thinking, but otherwise moved around well- Love the concept! Really great Jam! Thanks for the game!
So cool. Horror Sports. Immediately, I felt like I did the first time playing Devil Daggers. The mood is tangible- connecting with the ball is perfect (especially after a series of outs) and sliding was surprisingly satisfying. Haven't beat it yet- but I'll be back! Thanks for the game!
Hi! Played on Mac and web via safari- couldn't manage to move around or collect clothes. Am I doing something wrong? I'll come back and play again and rate later. Thanks!
Love how you can keep going after end game. Great looking and great playing. A lot of nudging and elbowing on the keyboard. Put this on Switch! Fabulous job. Thanks for the game!
Will be back to rate in 24 hours!
Worth the wait-I swear! Congratulations. I've put more time into this game than most of the games in my steam library. I can't wait for what you two make next! Thanks for the game!
Great job! Super difficult and fantastic graphics/sounds. I think @Keppu is right on the money. Thanks for the great game!
Wow. That was difficult! Great use of the theme to create a unique and challenging game! Amazed at how much you packed into an LD! I haven't used Aesprite, yet. What do you think of it? Congrats and thanks for the game!
I will be back to play again on Win. Could not rotate at all on trackpad. Looking forward to a play through with a mouse. I wouldn't bring this up- other than to show that even though my controls were screwed up- the game as a whole didn't fail! That's a solid concept. As I bumbled around trying to rotate and simultaneously stop swiping to other desktops- my date asked for the check. I thought that was brilliant and added another (maybe happy accident) meta layer of game design. Bravo and thanks for the game!
I think that this is a great start! One issue I ran across was only getting Mid Counter cards for many consecutive turns. Luck of the draw I suppose. Add some weet skins and some more cards, maybe some special moves and you've got the makings of a great turn-based fighter- or something even cooler! So glad you published. This was fun to play around with!
I just played another game that was attempting to do what you pulled off here. Great job! Reminds me of Flappy Bir, Tetris, and Super Mario. Addicting! I was a little confused at which pieces might fit the best. Other than that- superlative COMPO entry! Thanks for the game!
Love the art and animation! The gameplay seems solid in the HTML version too! What did you develop this with? This would be awesome with AI. Thanks for the game!
This is great. Jumped right in- knew what was going on right away- and had a few pleasant surprises! Tight gameplay- cool graphics and sweet tunes. So many places you could go with this. Shuffle Climber is a poster child for the potential of Ludum Dare, especially this theme that caused a lot of pre jam gripes. Thanks for the game!
Screen Shot 2018-04-27 at 9.41.01 PM.png GOTTA STOP.
Hi! Playing on Windows remotely through Mac- had issues with the screen size?! Just a small window in the center- and am pretty sure it has to do with remote graphics? Will try again on the Windows box when I get a chance- and rate then, but thought you should know! Thanks!
@reality-blind Thanks! Alt-enter worked so that I could play remotely, but it still looks like this- Screen Shot 2018-04-25 at 10.09.46 PM.png Tiny. Must be the remoting- maybe a dx issue? I will jump on the Win box and see all the pixels!!!
Cool game- I didn't think anything could bring me back to the original frustration of Tetris and Dr. Mario. Looking through the comments- maybe a jump bug on Mac was the culprit- but I wonder if a grid behind the playing field would aid in planning those last minute jumps. Great job- and congrats on a tight compo entry! Good luck and thanks for the game!
Wow. Really impressed with what you have here. Only played HTML- but the only bugs I experienced were with fullscreen. Reloading the tab seemed to clear out any issues. At first I was a little underwhelmed- though the slapping mechanic was surprisingly satisfying. Texting was a drag- doing it on a qwerty board- mac laptop- no num pad- didn't realize I could click- I think I was scrolled down, so the tutorial at the top was cut off- THEN I SUMMONED MR CUDDLES. Holy shit. That guy makes everything better. The level of thought that you put into this game is fierce. I will have to come back to complete with the mac download- thanks for that- btw, and thanks for the great game!
Played on Mac- with Firefox as the Unity player did not respond in Safari. I love the whole thing. The idea of a math game takes me back to Number Munchers- sure you could glitz up the graphics, but the perspective is cool and the animation is super smooth. The sound design is boss. Watch out for those even numbers- ;) Thanks for the game!
Played on mac in safari- first play through I got to wave five- but I don't know how. Screen Shot 2018-05-06 at 11.22.49 AM.png My chickens seemed invincible- and unable to fire their machine guns. The foxes seemed to eventually just die off- but I think they just disappeared. Screen Shot 2018-05-06 at 11.23.13 AM.png Second play through and the it was the foxes turn- Screen Shot 2018-05-06 at 11.23.00 AM.png I couldn't buy more chickens and assumed this was an end game scenario. The pixel graphics are absolutely gorgeous. Maybe the audio could help cue when to prepare for the next wave, and when the wave is coming? I love the super jump from the flowers- and kinda got worried about whether my machine gunners were stuck underneath- but the pathfinding was on point and they clustered around if I was patient.
Overall- great job. I never knew for sure if I was protecting the hen house or myself- I bet on the hen house- and I couldn't figure out when to prepare or when to fight. I think you have an amazing start to what could be a stellar arcade platformer /rts or tower defense mashup- Hope you continue on this and I can't wait to see more! Thanks for the game!
Very addictive. I died a lot and never felt cheated, except by my slow reflexes. Great concept and great execution. Can't wait for the console version!
Love the love for micro here. I can't keep up, but everything lines up just right. Maybe gimme the melee tutorial earlier? Love the companion play- hate the aliens (with a mindless fervor) and the music works well- is it procedural? The art and animations are fantastic- like Risk of Rain meets Day of the Tentacle. Can't wait to see where this goes next! Thanks for the fabulous game!
I jumped into this one blind- and pretty soon I thought I was going to lose it all- but I got the hang of it and those peanut guns really work! More levels and I'd still be playing. Great little tower defense game! Congratulations and thank you!
Played on mac- safari didn't work- then again, when does it- Chrome worked, but it was a little laggy and weird- firefox was the best.. Love the concept, the weapon mechanic, and the turn-based aspect. Amazing art and control. Maybe some more interfaces? Great start! Thanks for the game!
OMG. So many jump scares in this. You got me at every turn- i did not see the scary shark fish coming! I got to 72 gems and then hit the anchor. Screen Shot 2018-05-06 at 11.03.27 AM.png Very satisfying and drove me to play through again. Screen Shot 2018-05-06 at 11.02.56 AM.png I love how poppy and fun this starts and how you quickly create a really horrifying mood. Thanks so much for such a fantastic little game!
Would love to play, but on a Mac with trackpad- no way to shoot! I will try again and rate later on Win!!! Signed The President
One of the better tetris clones I've seen this LD- though the feature I was most thankful for was a little buggy- the "drop" function. I found that I needed to be careful not to activate for the next piece! Thinking back- I was never sure why I was playing tetris and space invaders, but I didn't question it at the time... ;) Great job and thanks for the game!
WOW! Like Prince of Persia meets Zelda meets Berserk meets Shadow of the Colossus- fabulous little game- a complete story with catharsis and so much love put into the art and animations. I know it took all you had to get this out- but if you continue to work on it- in addition to the character I'd love to see how the passage of time changes the environment. Simple short and effective! Thanks so much for the game!
At once I new how to play and what to do- love the feel and the controls. Whenever I died- I knew why- also thanks for the great death particle explosion! I just want a whip to flip around and send me back through the level!!! Thanks! Great job!
Awesome racer. I played on Mac via HTML (touchpad-argh) and PC with a mouse. I am going to try a tablet next- which made me think of gyro/accelerometer input for the turning? With the touchpad it reminded me of Pole Position- with mouse, I was thinking less of the controls and more about the graphics. Gorgi graphics. Took me back to StarFox and Wipeout. Fantastic use of the theme! PS- love the palette/terrain/decoration change power-ups. Great job- thanks for the game!
Sick! Great use of the theme to showcase your fantastic art and design- reminds me of John K- in all the best ways. Hilarious and disgusting- and by not letting me off the hook- by quitting- nudged me to persevere through the lack of a tutorial. Very natural. Also- have noticed a few other surreal rabbit games... https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/furry-love-under-skin-of-rabbits ...being one example. Congrats on a great jam and thanks for the game!
@nicolas-tapia To clarify- I loved it! Thanks again!
Screen Shot 2018-04-30 at 6.10.09 PM.png
^This about sums it up! VERY CUTE! AWESOME! Great job! I found that I could hover by the head and get through at least two stages before the cool down. Hard mode was a pleasant surprise. Thanks for the game!
Screen Shot 2018-05-06 at 2.45.43 PM.png Fantastic storytelling. Loved the branching endings. Had a real "Choose Your Own Adventure" feel. The interface was very simple and precise. I had a hard time seeing some of the text- i zoomed in the screen manually and that was a little better- btw I was outdoors- not in prime viewing environment. I was a little confused with combat first, but ran away and repaired- when I came back- I got the hang of it and CRUSHED my opponent. I was also confused at how to exit my mech- i knew that I needed to- thanks to the clever exposition and foreshadowing- when i found it- it seemed obvious enough. Loved this game- will play again. You had my imagination rolling more than any other game this jam. Thanks!!!
I miss Game/Watch. This captures the feeling of those and the Tiger games so well! Ha- This would be the way they'd sell resource management! Love the animations and sounds. Thanks for the game! Now just make a little system that will play this? ;)
First game was like this- Screen Shot 2018-05-01 at 9.18.34 PM.png But, the second game was like this- Screen Shot 2018-05-01 at 9.22.26 PM.png I loved this concept from the moment I saw the title. I think you delivered. Fantastic use of the theme to produce a fun experience. I play in the rough! Thanks for the game!.
This game is awesome! Love the concept, design and controls. Played with keyboard- will come back to play again with controller. Fantastic character design! Thanks for the game!!!
Love this lil shooter. Played on Mac with touchpad- "look" did not work- could only shoot down and to the right. Kept playing though- and that is a testament to your game fo sho. The graphics and animations were tip top- can't wait to hear this! Especially with all the cool texts and opportunity for ear bleed. Thanks for the game!
Definitely the most gorgeous game I have seen in this JAM so far! The sound design is fab. Had a graphic glitch I think- or was that a squabble? The crow seemed to teleport into the sparrow until the next swap. LOVE the character design and how form follows function. A very relaxing game. Thanks so much!
Great concept! Thanks for uploading. I had pretty similar critiques as those above, but also wanted to congratulate you for finishing up a compo entry! I liked the music. I also imagined each character's death gasp of information and enjoyed the sparse graphics. Great writing! Thanks for the game!
Gorgeous, challenging, fun, and hilarious! You had me at the title, and the game gives so much more. Love the little idiots running around and all the sound fx. Thanks for delivering! Being able to trash the block after endgame is also a great idea. One of the best I've played; for sure. Thanks again for the game!
FizzBuzz! Love it! Thanks for the Super Velociraptor Party! I had a great time.
Wow. That was super stressful. Mavis Beacon Zombie Apocalypse! I got into a groove at about two minutes, but it was already to late. I crafted a sword by five minutes and they were soon feasting on my guts. Great little game- could be spread out with a tutorial for a more lasting experience. Congrats and thanks for the game!
Screen Shot 2018-04-30 at 7.09.48 PM.png
Had a few graphical glitches, other than that- pretty fantastic. I was stumped by the double walls for a moment. Really smooth gameplay and clever puzzles.
Awesome- thank you for adding a link to the ending! Played on web. Noticed the same issues as others. I think it would be cool if it was a little faster- though maybe I just want more levels? Thanks for the game! Great job!
sf.png NO! I cannot reach 1000! Very cool- played on Surface 15" in portrait mode. Love the cocktail format! My hand was my worst enemy (blocking my view) Thinking maybe a higher contrast between the background and the asteroids/enemies would make it a little more enjoyable? It took me a while to figure out what was killing me. Overall- awesome work! Thanks for the game!!!
Screen Shot 2018-05-05 at 8.22.56 AM.png This was weird at first- then I believed it was inevitable. Screen Shot 2018-05-05 at 8.51.54 AM.png Awesome potential. And REALLY solid minimal design. At first I didn't understand if I was to mimic the other players stance or try to attack. I got the hang of it and ended up hacking until I died- or the sunset. Whichever came first. Hard to tell, at times, which character I was controlling. Great job and thanks for the game!
AMAZING COMPO ENTRY! I was pretty frustrated with my teammate- but I think that is in character for the world you've created. Great job and thanks for the game!
Cool! Love the art and the epic music. Played HTML on Mac with Safari. Ran great. I thought I had the hang of it before the double presses. I was wrong. Very challenging. Maybe it could be faster? Thanks for the game.
