Very cool! Suprised by how much is in this game from a solo dev.
It's a very nice game. The atmosphere is great. Very relaxing)
The :star: of the show is the flight controls. Soaring the skies and whizzing in between trees was very immersive so much so that it took a while for me to re-realise that there were tasks that i needed to do. Gathering the sticks was boring compared to the flight but i understand the neccesity in this context. Was a lot of fun!
This game was so chill, i really enjoyed it
Nice entry !
This was really relaxing, a nice change of pace. The graphics are quite nostalgic. Good job :)
Incredible! Well done! I played the whole way through and had fun! birdgame.png
Wooooooooaaaaahhhh!!!! That flying mechanic is awesome maaaaaannn!!! I felt like a bird! :open_mouth: Nice work with the assets! Greato Jobu!
I loved this game! Aesthetic is so up my street, gameplay was satisfying, dedicated chirp button obvs brilliant.
I had a few ideas for things I think could have improved this experience, but that's not to detract from what you did as I still had a lot of fun, the only reason I thought of all these things was because I was enjoying my time so much:
Locking the cursor inside the screen, or removing mouse usage at all. You're not using it to steer so why not just stay exclusively on keyboard
Having all of the tasks available out of the gate - I think this would be a lot more freeform, and having the hatching eggs as a "main quest" while flying fast, pecking crabs, scaring crows etc
Having smoother colliders around the trees so the bird brushes off them gently and doesn't ram into them, keeping the gameplay smoother and the motion constantly fluid
More obvious flight inversion - I only found this at the end of my run when I went to quit the game and would have loved it from the get go
Al in all, excellent entry, I super enjoyed my time in your game!
Now that's my kind of game! Really enjoyed that, very relaxing flying about and the tasks were easy enough whilst still providing fun. Really cool graphics, and thanks for the flight inversion option ;)
Cool game very serene, I like the flight mechanic it takes a little while to get used to not having inverted controls but it's really good.
Good Job.
amazing! breathtaking! this is staying on my computer, after the event, it's like a little poem! the music fits the game perfectly!
i have no suggestions, this game is perfect.
I fell in love with this cute game. Nice work!
@aidanmarkham I posted your game ;) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/satisfyn-keep-the-love-alive/$207461
This game is so great! Lovely atmosphere and especially enjoyed the flight controls
Peaceful and dreamful ! I like it very much :monkey: :robot:
Really nice and comfy game. Absolutely love the retro effect as well. How did you achieve it, is the game being rendered at a low resolution and scaled up or is it just shader effect?
Great mood and art. This made me realize that I really want a bird simulator mixed with wii sport island flyover.
Everything felt very balanced except for the camera. Sometimes it was kind of awkward figuring out where you were going.
For how low res it was the crabs and sticks were very visible.
I really liked the crab model and the bird bouncing animation.
Beautiful game. Loved the amosphere and the chirping wa a nice touch. I'm really used to flying games so it would me nice an invert Y axis option. Anyway is an outstanding entry for a jam! Excellent work
What a relaxing game! AWESOME art (well, I'm a sucker for those types of visuals, you can tell because I also created a low res, PS1/90s game), relaxing sounds and atmosphere, and original and unique idea. Took me 15 minutes to complete. I voted 5 stars for everything, except humor.
They are so cute! cutebird.png
If you are going to keep working, a mouse camera movement is a must.
This game is like a memory of a childhood dream. So funny how I keep trying to control camera with the trackpad. Thank you for breaking me free of that scheme for a little bit. Flying feels so good in this- hard to get off the ground and so graceful in the air. You know you have a good game when you learn how to end the game, but you don't, because you just want more. Thanks for the amazing experience!

I loved the game! The graphics are on point, and though the control felt a bit clunky at the start, I got the hang of it in the end. You were able to make a lot within the time frame, it's pretty impressive. The structure with the goals also makes since this way, though it did feel a bit restrictive. I think the part I liked the most is chirping at the crows and feeling like a proper bird (10/10 IGN), less fun was collecting so many crabs. but it was forgiven once I could fly around with my chicks
Very interesting experience. I think it's most narrative game in LD46 among those that I played. But I had problems with controls when I flying. I think It could be better if use the mouse control to change the direction.
the flying feels like playing something like Terminal Velocity back in the day! Any reason why you have mapped buttons to the mouse at all? to go all in with the 90s feel, it's be nice to play it all with keyboard!
I had a hard time getting used to the controls. Would have preffered to steer with mouse movement. Other than that a really great entry, sound design is great as well. Easily in the top 10 games I've tried so far.
I don't have any constructive feedback, I simply love everything about this game.
@daniel-whittaker In regards to the pixel effect, I achieved it by having the game camera render to a RenderTexture in Unity, then mapping it to a plane and having a second camera look at that.
Amazing, really immersive experience!
Two moments really stood out and elevated this from a simple game to a memorable experience for me, the first being finding the seventh stick. It really made me think how happy our real birdies must be when they find just the perfect material for their nest.
The second one was when I was looking for a crab for the first time. I saw a red dot, indicating at least something different in the distance and thought to myself how similar their perception of the world could be, and in the same moment the artstyle made total sense to me.
Stunningly beautiful experience. If there's anything I can critisize it for it's that my left arm is hurting now :D
What a great little experience :) The tasks weren't super exciting, but having a something to do that built up into a little story arc felt nice. And the art style felt pretty fitting for such a cozy game! I got used to the controls at the end, though at the start I did a lot of aiming up very high because I kept holding W after taking off. That context switch of the input is a bit strange.
Too chilled.
Game was nice, it definitely grew on me as I played it. I liked the art ftyle, although the water looked a bit weird to me. Nice game overall though for sure!
There seems to be a bug on Linux unfortunately, the bird and the ground are all black, so it’s impossible to figure out what is going on.
Nice! Loads of content, original concept, amazing graphics and controls. Good job!
Wow! Really liked that art style! It took me 14 minutes to finish the game.. There's just one thing: their are 3 chicks, and you feed them 5 crabs... Who only get's one?
Excellent graphics with pretty good flying mechanics, though the ground rotation speed could be a bit faster, and considering there are so many trees, you could have made searching for the 7th stick a bit easier ;) Also the requirement of 5 crabs makes it feel too repetitive, 3 would seem like a better choice (as the comment above me mentioned, it would also make more sense :P)
