Keep it Olive by Nicso 2020-04-23T09:31:45Z
This was cute! I enjoyed the concept, and the art. Is it bad it made me hungry?
Great job!

Great job!
This was really relaxing, a nice change of pace. The graphics are quite nostalgic. Good job :)
Get crazy civilization vibes from this. Surprisingly nicely polished for 3 days. Thanks for the game!
I really loved the art style in this. I think you hit the PSX era of graphics on the head, it really invoked a pleasant feeling of nostalgia.
I second what Magus77 says, the spider-like enemies are incredibly fast haha. Might need to tune them down a little, but I enjoyed this.
Thanks for the game!
I'm a sucker for vaporwave. Fun little game, good job!
Nice, simple, and pretty fun overall. Thanks for the game!
This was a beautiful experience. The art is incredible, by the way. Thank you for the game!
Been a while since I've played a typing game, let alone a jam typing game. This was great, though I agree with Tommeh's sentiment it was a bit too easy for my taste, but great job!
Fun little time-waster, thanks for the game!
Solid game for the time given. Appreciate the mouse sensitivity slider as it was rather high at first. Really liked the art style!
This is fantastic - and honestly I'm pretty bad at it haha. Great job with the control scheme, very different, makes it stand out!
I enjoyed playing this one! Unique take on the theme. Thanks for the game :)
Not bad, was a little hard to get used to the controls but it's a nice little game! Good job!
I actually quite enjoyed this!
It's like a creepy tamagotchi that has an actual goal and difficulty curve. The animation's and art feel really nicely polished, though the game could use some tooltips or information in regards to what certain buttons do - as is it's really just a guessing game.
Good job!
I enjoyed this! Especially drawn to the post-processing, really makes the game pop. Good job!
404. I'll come back later!
This was really well done, great job! Missing some decent music and SFX, but this can all be added in time. You've got a great base to work from!
Great concept! It was very disorienting, but I enjoyed it. Thanks for the game!
Congratulations on your first jam game! I enjoyed it, the art is well made. Good job :)
Entertaining little game :D
Not bad! The game needs more feedback though, like when you fire you should get a bit of a shake or something you know? The backdrop being a static grey made it very easy to lose the character aswell. But good job!
I'll second what Draschel says - I instinctively went to drag the windows around, as it's supposed to be a computer screen, but was slightly disappointed when they didn't move :(
This game is charming. It's a nice blend between satirical cheesy early 2000's/late 90's hacker and fun. I'd probably make the intro animation a little faster though.
Thanks for the game!
Love the art style in this, mechanics are difficult to grasp though. I'd recommend a tutorial :)
I absolutely loved the graphics and general atmosphere of this one. Great job!
Nice audio, great pixel art and a nice concept. Good job, thanks for the game!
This is fantastic. The art, the atmosphere, the sound, the story, everything. You guys really nailed it!
I second what Hueson said, I can definitely respect any game that'll try something new. Thanks for the game!
@pastelgames It should be working now, I forgot to make the draft public!
@mypalmike It's not just you, it does appear to be significantly darker on the Web version. I'm going to rebuild it with the reticle brightened in hopes it alleviates the issue. Thank you!
Thank you very much for the incredible feedback everyone - It's really satisfying seeing 3 days hard work pay off!
I've uploaded a new WebGL build that has a far more visible reticle, I'm unsure as to why it was nearly invisible compared to the Windows standalone version, but this fix should do the trick.
@hivenation Yeah, the suppression satellites may be a little imbalanced in comparison to the others. I’ll balance them when I add more to the game outside of LD 😅
@travis-hermant that would likely be the safety net I added that makes it so meteor’s cannot be spawned any less than 0.1 seconds apart. I added this towards the end as large spawns would very quickly crash your game lol.
If you want a challenge, hit ctrl+shift+D and modify the “safety net” values from 0.1 and 0.5 to something more like 0.0 and 0.2 😅
@torh my game isn't available on there sorry! For simplicity's sake I'm just going to maintain a single link at itch.io :)
@evert Thank you so much! The slimes had a faint, high-pitched scream when they got blasted off the planet at first but early playtesters said it was more annoying than entertaining - though I quite enjoyed it. I'll have to make it a toggleable option ;)
@pierre-cilluffo Ah this was a bug I thought I fixed - I believe it's caused by the game holding the "paused" state upon restarting. A quick fix is to open and close a menu. I'll have to look into it again :)
@jason-woerner Thank you! Yeah I need to give a clearer view of meteors coming from the top and bottom of the screen, I really appreciate the kind and detailed feedback!
@khud0 this is something I've actually fixed! I'm unsure as to whether it'd be within the rules to share a post-jam build or not, might wait until everything's wrapped up :)
Thank you for the awesome feedback!
@hugimugi7 apologies, the text is a bit slow. Originally I wanted it to be an interactive tutorial but time constraints got to me! Thanks for playing.
@aj-jones thank you so much! This is a bug I’ve already fixed and will include in a post-jam build soon :)
@jonrei There are hotkeys for the panels! This is mentionted during the gameplay introduction, the hotkey's are U and B, escape will close all active windows. Escape doesn't pause the game in this build but it's something I've already fixed for the post-ld build. Thanks for playing :)
@rextgun thank you so much for the feedback! Yeah, satellites are a bit OP in this build 😅 thankfully 1.1 will be coming with a plethora of bug fixes and balancing changes, one of which being that satellites slow effects have diminishing returns.
Thanks for playing!
@rextgun Building health was a feature I toyed with but wasn't sure how satisfying it felt, I wasn't able to get extensive playtesting done. It opened up new strategies, like deployable shelters for the slimes that would protect them from a single meteor, etc.
More extensive building and upgrade systems are something I'm putting the finishing touches on before releasing a post-jam build - such as being able to remove or relocate buildings, more descriptive upgrades, much better UI - just have to finish up the UI part!
@rextgun I will be sure to @ you once it's live!
@max-louis Thank you so much! I would love to get a link to your stream!
I've many ideas for this game - there'll be plenty more to come. Update 1.1 with quite a few new features, balancing fixes and bug fixes should be out by the end of the week.
@max-louis Sure thing! I'll be sure to @ you once it's ready, following you. :)
@basileios thank you so very much! I’ve got a big update in the works, should have it done by the end of the week. Things like building upgrades, relocatable/removable buildings, enhanced lighting, a settings menu (ft. Colourblind filters!), a plethora of bug and balance fixes are all included. I can’t wait to share it with you all. Comments like this motivate me!
@bloodyaugust thank you so much! Yeah the balance was something I wasn’t happy with but unfortunately time was of the essence.
The (almost ready) new update features a fully fledged individual building upgrade system, with a global rebalancing (with things such as cool downs on automatic buildings!), and more.
In the near future I aim to implement an elemental system to vary gameplay and strategies - e.g, an ice planet will slow meteors but also slow physical buildings (such as missile launchers), thus requiring you to invest in buildings such as the laser cannon (or the new Arc Cannon or Grav Cannon!)
Thank you so much for the positive feedback, it really does motivate me to give this project my all. I often develop this live if you’d like to tune in - on http://www.twitch.tv/ImYoshify

@bloodyaugust also, my apologies if that spammed you - I pressed publish once and it appears to have posted the comment 5 times? I think the site's having issues.
Good game! Enlightened 3 planets.
Good job! Nice play on the theme, thanks for the game :)
A little buggy - I also had problems with the van and truck not moving, but I enjoyed the concept. With some refinement it could be really good! Thanks for the game! :)
