It's pretty great, the voice is just a bit hit or miss...
This might be the best game I played so far! (On the jam I mean) But still here's some criticism: -Some jumps are just too far appart, there's only som much you can expand the jump distance untill it becomes teedious. -Sometimes it's pretty hard to figure out what you need to do to get to a platform for me it was level 3 on the beggining with the platform over the raising and lowering spikes. Everything else is awesome!
I like it. It reminds me of games like oregon tale... Good job!
This game is just wonderful! I'm addicted to it! It's just such a fun idea, a collectathon where you need to bring back every coin you collect to a specific location, while being chased by some weird child gost people. It's just perfect!
Beutiful! Add some more gameplay, plish up the audio and release it on steam or somwhere else. Trust me, you should invest in this idea, ot's great!
this was a real JOY to play.
This was awesome! I think I'm addicted to it now!
The combat isn't really that good, but as an artist, I really apretiate the time spent in making it look good! Probably the best pixel art I've seen all jam! It's gret, keep it up pal!
Pretty good, do some more plishing on the music and some other things and it'll be a full game!
I can see that the game is very good in the graphics department, but the gameplay is a bit lacking. It isn't bad by any means, it's just a bit bland. You should keep to the visual style, but add some more gameplay. And better enemy AI.
@mimusangel You should totally continue the development on this on, here I'll give you some suggestions: -Decrease the poly count on the player, trust me no one is gonna notice, he's way too small to be so smooth. -Slow down the enemies, and to make it even better add a new enemy that's gonna be fast, and deal a lot of damage, but have a small amount of HP (one hit kill), and make it really rare. So that when it spawns the player drops everything they're doing and shoots at it. -Use a better font (please), here's where I get all my fonts: https://www.1001fonts.com/new-and-fresh-fonts.html?page=3&items=10
-And add some more types of enemies.
This game probably has the most inovative, and engaging gameplay in 2019! And the story! Oh the plot is so thick and engaging, I don't want to spoil it, but the emotional journey the bill goes through, oh god! This is a hidden gem of a game! I loved it so much!
Uh... I guess it's kinda nice... Sorry, it's just too confusing and disorienting to play...
@wildcard the jumping was kinda disorienting to me. It's much too fast, I could give you some tips on how to make it bettter but I don't know what game engine you're using. And I think that the camera should be a bit more in front of the player. So that the player is in the first third of the screen at all times!
@wildcard If you're using unity, then I suggest this video for a 2D character controller: https://youtu.be/QGDeafTx5ug And this one for a 3D one (Notice it's for a FPS controller but it works fine for 3rd person if you remove mouse control): https://youtu.be/blO039OzUZc
Damn! This is a really awesome game! It's great! And for some reason it reminds me of Doom.
Oof, i guess it has a good concept, but the gameplay just isn't good, there are soo many glitches, like the one where you fall through the staircase... It needs more time to be good. Now, that dosen'y mean you have to give up on it, you should give it some more time and effort, and it could be a great game! I like the menu though!
This game is very satisfying to play. You feel happy when you beat a chalange, but you also feel rageful when you die. It dosen't have any throwaway levels like most platformers, every room is a chalenge and that is why I like it.
Not too good, but hey at least you submitted a game. That's more than some people can say! (And hey, it's still better than my music...)
Pretty good. At least it's better than mine!
It's just perfect. There's nothing else to say about it. The gameplay is fun, the story is simple and easy to figure out, and I didn't find any glitches. Poliysh up the graphycs and release it as a full game!
It's amazing! I love it! You should add a bit more gameplay to it and I think it can be released as a full game!
It's really great! Meaby a bit too hard at some points, but great none the less
Yeah the audio is just me hitting cans with rocks and streching springs. Then I applied filters to it and called it a day. And the music! OH THE HORROR!
Oh yeah! There was supposed to be a system that keeps you in bounds, but it broke for some reason and I didn't have time to fix it!
Thank you everyone so much! I never expected to have even one comment!!!
@wildcard Yes at first it was like that, but then I removed the button, because I thought it would be more interesting and harder, to decide when would be the right time to fill up your ammo. But in the future I might update the game, sence I really like it.
Yeah, the music is very bad, but just keep shooting and you won't hear it! ;D
@von-vista that makes perfect sense to me. I am an artist and a game designer, and as you can see, definitely not a compositor, or a musicly endoud person. Sorry for making all those ears bleed. ;D
@daria-toni Thank you so much!
Thank you sooo much for the feedback @eddensoft @incd021 @seriar
It's a perfect game. 12/5 great game.
The idea is nice, but the game leaves a bit to be desired. The graphics don't look that nice, it's not clear what you're supposed to do in the beginning, and it's a bit unpolished, but nothing a little work can't fix! And if you're just bad at graphics, pixel art is always easy!
I love the controls, the naration and the art. Quality product, if I didn't see it here I wouldn't be able to guess it was a jam game to be honest.
The concept is great, but I'm sad to say that the execution is mediocre, but that's ok, I had the same problem with my game too, that's just the nature of game jams I guess!
It's definitely interesting, and the graphics look very good and stylized, overall you did a very good job! Congratulations!
Simple concept, but very good execution! The pixel art is wonderful, and the controls are snappy and feel great. Solid entry right here!
Very challenging and fun game, I really like it! Simple but does everything it tries perfectly!
The movement is pretty slow, but resposive, I liked it, I love the Pico-8 aesthetic!
It wasn't that fun, but the graphics and animations are nice, the UI works great, it's innovative and sets the mood nicely. Sorry to say this but it just wasn't that fun, but maybe this is just a personal prefrence of mine?
@mantaraytv-games Hey, don't worry, I had to cut a lot of stuff in my game too! That's just the nature of game jams! We're all here to have fun!
Wow! A VR game in a game jam! I'm really impressed that you managed to do this. It plays great on the VIVE but I don't know about other headsets!
It has good theme execution, it's pretty hard too. I love the pixel art and style! Also a bit of a weird comment, but I really enjoy the look of the Itch page :D
Before I played it I was like: Now way this deserves this many points, but when I played it I was like: :O
As always, Noah knocks it out of the park! Love it!
I keep a cactus in real life, and can say, this is 100% accurate.
Good top down shooter, amazing jam game! You really did an amazing job!
I love the pixel art, reminds me of Papers Please a lot idk why? The game is pretty fun, I enjoyed playing it!
The controls feel responsive and feel great to use, but the screen shake and glitch effects feel very disoriating and annoying. The enemies can sometimes be hard to see because they are so small, but the rest is pretty fun! It's a good game with some bad parts, but I would never say it's bad.
@mantaraytv-games Actually no, the graphics look very good, the controls are great, my only pet pieves are that the screen shake is too much, and that you could for example: add a white outline to the enemies and make them more visible that way!
Mine died every time :(
The eyes of that snake are staring directly into my soul. I kinda like it...
Very good execution, atmoshere is amazing, and the only thing I dislike is the pixel perfect camera component making the whole screen jitter.
The visuals are amazing, and the music and sfx are great! The gameplay is a bit shallow, but it isn't boring! I enjoyed my experience playing this little game!
I really like it! The graphics are stylized and the music is very nice to listen to. Pretty hard too! Great idea, perfect execution, all in all a solid entry!
I really, really like this one! The controls are good, the graphics are AMAZING! And it's simply fun!
Very very good game! I really enjoyed playing it! It was really fun, and I love how your LD46 avatar is the main character in the game. Very nice, fun, inovative game, and I really have no cticism for it. It's just fun and cute!
It's a bit too easy, but I like the particle effects and the graphics in general. Fun little entry.
Also @pusheeneiro I see you there ;)
Very very good visuals, I love this game, even though the gameplay is a bit hollow, but I love the story and/or universe! Very nice game!
very good game! I thouroughly enjoyed playing it! Who knew writing words could be so much fun?
This one gave me a good laugh :D
Unus Annus
I really love it! I'm an absolute sucker for pixel art 3D and I'm in love with this game! Thank you for making thsi!
Amazing! This is 100% my favorite game so far! The graphics are AMAZING! The gameplay is fun and interesting and the only thing i dislike a bit is that shooting can be a bit glitchy at times.
The jump feels a bit floaty, and the attack has too short of a range. But everything else is fun, innovatieve and well executed. It's great.
A very COOL game. The controls feel ICE to use, and the graphics are CRISP and CLEAR (get it like ice...)
Cute! I like it. The graphics leave a bit to be desired, but the game is a little, cute, fun experience, that I would recommend to anyone reading this.
I've had a delightful experience playing this game! It's pure fun, it does what it tries to do perfectly! The only mild nitpick I could find was that the arrows sometimes don't rotate the way I expect them to. One of the best games in the jam!
Man, this is amazing. For 72h this is incredible! I love the feel of it, the mood is perfect and gameplay engaging! Lovely game!
Nicely done game! Very good execution, the graphics look beautiful and it's a nice game to sit down with and enjoy for a while.
This game is fine! (Ba-dum tsch)
I'll make sure to get back here when the jam ends to review it. Your game was a perfect ending for a stressful jaming day! It was really a delight, it doesn't try to do much, but what it tries to do, it does perfectly. The text switching feels juicy and satisfying, the only gripe I have is the default look of some buttons in the game!
I would pay 60$ for that phone call in the beginning alone.
@pinballjunior Oh no! I'm sorry, I'll just upload the whole build instead of the installer, the damn thing never works :(
@pinballjunior @congusbongus Here, I updated the Itch page, now there is just a zip file with the build. I'm sorry for this mishap. Please, if you would like, try and download it again.
@pinballjunior i actually plan on adding more levels in the future, I was so sad to put in so little levels, but there were some problems during development, so I had to make a choice between levels or polish, and I chose polish.
@odeyalko You don't understand the story, or what you're supposed to do in the game? Because there's supposed to be a tutorial at the beginning, but if that's not showing up, then just read the description ;)
@sheinxy Oh my god, thank you so much! This means so much to me. I thought the game was frankly disappointing because i had to scrap a lot of stuff. Thank you so much on that comment, it means the world to me!
@odeyalko Oh ok, haha :D
@delightfullymad Thanks! I will deffinetley expand on the game in the future, you can look out for that on my Itch.io page:
https://pepperbox-games.itch.io
@adjo Thanks! Really appreciate the support!
@acidviper Hey, you're the first one to mention explosion radius, so let me tell you a secret: The little light effect around the player is actually a minimum safe range from an explosion, very useful for puzzle testing, and for players too, if they figure it out that is.
@dnp Yeah I know, I plan on adding much more mechanics and harder puzzles in DestructiveReconstruction2 that i will most likely release on my Itch.IO page.
@louiejams I hope you like the ending, I had to put it together with duct tape and paper clips in the last 10 minutes of the jam :D
@etdofresh well the smoke didn't kill you, so maybe the collision object from the initial ezplosion somehow didn't get disabled? I really don't know what could have happened, such a thing never happened during playtesting.
@drunkardwolf It used to be much faster, but that caused lag on lower end machines because the collision detection on it was kinda badly optimized. So I slowed it down for the time now. Thanks on the feedback!
@randdir Haha, I'm glad someone mentioned Wall-E! That was one of the biggest inspirations for the game :D
@pusheeneiro Thanks! I love your profile pic :D
@noirdrive No, it's not you, there really is no sound :D I just didn't have time to add it sorry... I also agree that the explosions would be a lot more juicy if there were sfx. Thanks on the feedback!
@massassen It's really funny how everyone mentions things I wanted to add to the game but didn't have the time to haha! At first you would only kill enemies, but then I liked the puzzle mechanic of it a lot, so I planned to do puzzles with enemies, but then I lost most of the time on making thing work, so I couldn't :(
Thanks so much on the feedback!
@sokette Hmm, I'm gonna try to, but the build should be universal? Maybe not, I'll check, and tell you when I update it!
@sokette There! It's all done, both the Linux and MacOS builds are there now!
@brandann Yeah, I thought of a minimap, but didn't have time to add it :/
@rhinofreak @yoshify Thank you both sooo much I unendingly appreciate your feedback!
@spacewizardj Thanks! The thing is, the very nature of the game was very different at the beginning, but when I decided to change it, the plant carrying mechanic was already done, so I was like, yeah just keep that in, because I didn't have time to find a new way to use the plant in the puzzles. Thanks on the feedback!
@kaisean-games yeah, a lot of answers to all of those are the lack of time haha :D
@sokette Yeah haha, that and time are the main reason for the shortness! I scrapped 30 levels because it was.. just... so... boring. But you'll be able to play all of the levels with revamped game mechanics (and everything else really) in the revamped version I'll be releasing on my Itch.IO page!
@sokette Yeah, and the post processing adds a lot, you wouldn't imagine how much uglier it is without it!
@marvalgames I sure will! The development on the "full" version has already started! You can read a devlog here: https://itch.io/t/769647/destructive-reconstruction-full-version-development-is-starting#post-1373433
@staircase27a Thanks! You can follow the development on my twitter, here: https://twitter.com/home and the game will be released on my itch page here: https://pepperbox-games.itch.io
Sorry for the shameless self promotion, it's become a bit of a habit haha.
I like it a lot! The mechanics work well together, it's stressful intese and feels great!
I love the music, and music transitions. The graphics are stylized and simple, but effective, and yeah, it's a chill relaxing game.
This one was simple, but really fun! I thouroughly enjoyed playing it, the pixel art is crisp and nice to look at, all in all, a simple yet fun game.
This one's really hard! I can't get past stage 5. It's probably the hardest game I played on this jam so far.
The controls are kinda dodgy, but once you learn how to control it, feels great. The gameplay is fun and the graphics look solid. Good game!
Great, I love it! Pretty hard but very fun. The pixel art is crisp and clear to look at, the player has a nice contrast to the background and it has a great visual style!
Also I respect everyone who uses impact font in their games #impactsquad
@saulo-rosart I'm so happy for you! I hope you finnish it, I would buy it tbh! The improved version is SO MUCH BETTER, just playing with a gamepad feels so much better! I plan to do a similar thing with my game, just probabaly not Steam, as there are way too many taxes...
@saulo-rosart Most likely Itch.IO because it's so easy to customize the game page and in general itch is a much more friendly market place than steam. But you never know, maybe if it's successful enough on itch there might be a steam release...
I liked that Portal reference.
Pretty fun game, but where it really shines is the graphical style! I love to look at it, the 3D pixel art aesthetic is one of my favorite aesthetics, and you have executed on it brilliantely!
Where is the game?
The sensitivity is a bit too high, but I love the voxel graphics! I've never seen that in a game jam before! Are they like, real voxels or just 3D models that look like voxels?
It's just SO fun to play! I lost like an hour to this game! It's just so juicy and crunchy and the controls are amazing and everything about it is just great. It really sets the bar high for other games!
Great job on this one! I am literally addicted to this game! I think this is one of the rare jam games that I played for more than an hour all together (that includes mine :D)
The mood feels amazing, the story is deep and impactfull and the animations and pixel art look great! Very nice, little calm game, deffinetley a nice game to play at the end of a stressful day spent reviewing jam games.
I loved it! Very fun to play, very good execution on the theme, the graphics are crisp and juicy, the controls are responsive and feel AMAZING (Except I have this thing that sometimes when I press jump it doesn't jump, but that's probably due to FPS)! Overall very nice, short and fun game, I loved!
That title is worth five stars alone haha! Seriously now, the game is nice, I just kinda dislike the physics, but everything else is ok.
Fast fun game, I like it, good job!
It's scary how polished this game is! You'd expect a game like this to be some joke game, but this is actually good! Good job, you really surprised me haha!
I really like it, the graphics are nice and the game is fun. Pretty nice!
It's pretty hard to get the grasp of, but once you do, it can be fun, but still chalenging. I like it!
The art is very nice, the gameplay is innovative and it's moody as hell! I like it!
I really enjoyed this one, it was very fun to play, very engaging and the tension was high the whole time. It works perfectly and it's a fun concept I haven't seen before. Very fun game and I would recommend it for everyone reading this comment.
Very nice 3D graphics, bit frustrating to play, but I liked it.
It's doom on a snowboard. Also there is a bug that if you press the Reset Score button if you didn't play the game it crashes.
The art and expressions are amazing! I love your entry, and playing it just makes me happy :D
I enjoyed it. It was fun, very hard, the graphics are VERY good, and the concept is tried and trued. There really isn't much room for error here and the execution is brilliant.
When you get the hang of it, it's really fun! I would love to see this concept expanded on, to turn it into a sort of metrovania maybe? Or something like that. Very good game, that takes a bit of time to get the hang of!
The management of multiple problems popping up at once is very intese and stressful! Very good execution on that part. The graphics look very nice as well. But I have to say, playing the original version isn't that great of an experience and I would recommend the updated version to everyone who looks forward to playing it.
I just have to say that pixel art is AMAZING! The only nitpick is that pixel art is sometimes a bit weird when one sprite has smaller pixels than others, so just try to make all the pixels the same size next time! Otherwise a very nice game!
Pretty hard to play, the controls feel weird to use, but the graphics are very nice to look at, the sound design is actually kinda creepy and it's deffinetley something i've never seen before. nice little game!
e g g
That time your bae get's thrown at you by a witch goblin thing.
I'm gonna be brutally honest here, the graphics and noises kindaaaa suck, you can really improve 3D graphics just be tweaking the material roughness/glossyness and other features, all your materials look a bit samey and flat, next adding a bit of ambient occlusion and baked lighting goes A LONG way, as in some engines (unity and godot) can have this look that anything placed on a ground plane looks like it floats because they don't have default baked AO and their realtime lighting engines are kinda, uhhh... Otherwise I find the game pretty fun, and the only other thing that takes me away is the sound, but I don't really want to judge other people on sound on gamejams as it's a hard thing to do in a jam and I'm the first one here that said screw it and didn't even put sounds in my game!
Not the best game, but nothing that can be improved with a little bit of work!
I love the graphics, it's fun to play, and damn boy it's some of the cutest pixel art I've seen the whole jam!
