38 seconds and wow it gets ridiculous very quickly! But in a good way.
This is a fun little browser game, well done. :D

38 seconds and wow it gets ridiculous very quickly! But in a good way.
This is a fun little browser game, well done. :D
Interesting concept. Unfortunately I was a bit lost and didn't quite understand what I had to do. I kept dying, but the music and graphics are great.
Love the idea, I just had some trouble with timing to get the funky stuff to start happening.
This game has great potential. I love the concept and style. I would've loved to see it have some nice soundfx or ambient background music. The theme was a bit 50/50 to me, as you're killing to keep alive
I would play this if you decide to make it into a fully fledged game
This is a really fun game! I beat the reaper at his game.
I had some trouble with landing the jumps, the character slide around a lot. The theme was a bit more towards killing than keeping alive. But this game could become a thing if you keep working on it and make it multiplayer!
17 Days. Fun little stressing game lol
Gorgeous game! Love the concept! Just wish it was a little faster.
The overall concept is great. Would be cool if you could give him some smoother animations and movement. Those lasers also don't have quite a clear indication on when they're about to switch off, which made timing difficult.
Otherwise, well done :)
Very well done! This was a really fun game to play.
I wish it was longer  Keep at it
P.S. I loved the Wilhelm Scream in there
I broke the world record  Nice clicker game.
I feel like I can meditate and reflect of life playing this game. Would be cool to see different levels or themed plants.
well done
The concept of this game is amazing. However I had a few issues: - I couldn't click after I went to the second node (restarted and continued playing) - The map went off the screen after a while - I didn't quite understand the combat, especially if I didn't have the correct items - I didn't have any audio, not sure if that's a bug. But some nice ambient music could've been nice
I really liked the idea and the general concept. Keep at it.
Love the idea! The graphics are good, the audio is great. Although the song did get a little much. (person opinion I guess) Would've loved to have seen a few special abilities you could trigger.
The controls felt amazing, the graphics we done very well, the game narrative was great! Unfortunately I couldn't get very far, the bullets moved a little to fast compared to the frog movement. Would've been cool if he could leap.
The concept is there and the mood is nice and calm. It's not the most creative game unfortunately, I've played a lot of torch games this jam. The achievements was a nice touch.
Maybe a creature or two that lurks in the dark, or something fun in between.
Would've been nice to see a little bit more from a team this big.
Keep at it and I'm sure with a few additional features this game can be a lot of fun to play.
Love the graphics. Would've like to see some more animations and a slightly longer game.
Overall great idea.
I like Dark Dungeons. The general concept of the game is great, I finished the end boss. However I'm not quite sure about the drop torch and shoot key being the same, and some ambient music would've been great.
Otherwise, well done
Thanks for the feedback guys.
@ashashza and @twistashio I realized afterwards that the levers are quite difficult to find in the dark. I was planning on adding in some voice narration for the player as hints on what to do, unfortunately I didn't have quite enough time.
Otherwise I'm glad you enjoyed the game.
P.S. even I struggle on the last level a bit and I know where everything is
@pagetb @nikchernyakov Thank you for the feedback. I think I will continue working on this.
I'd like to make it a first person narrative and add a nice introductory/tutorial level. There's one trap that wasn't marked by runes on the second level, it's near one that is marked. I will have to mark it as well, or come up with a different way for the player to discover traps.
@simansimon You can hide from him in the alcoves in the darkness, then he'll lose track of you.
@miltage Yea, I will add in a options menu in the future which should help with this issue. I wanted to make the game that you can hide in any shadows, but only got around to doing the dark alcoves.
Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it a lot.
@simansimon The eye at the bottom of the screen will have a line drawn through it when you're hidden. When I get around to making changes I will let post here.
@kevin-meissner Thank you for having a go at it. The theme plays in where you have to actually keep the monster alive, by disabling traps or distracting him before he falls into them. Even though the monster is your enemy you can't escape without keeping him alive.
@kevin-meissner
No worries, I originally planned to add a voice narrative in, but I ran out of time. Thanks for giving it a go though.
@kevin-meissner
Yea, I crunched this out on my own this jam. Thanks, I appreciate the warm comments.
@itsatony
Thank you for giving it a go. Unfortunately there wasn't enough time to make my own models, textures and animations on my own. The voice acting was really fun to do, and had a blast creating the mechanics.
So much more I want to add in the future
@chief141 Thank you for giving my game a go. I appreciate the feedback.
I originally planned on using itch.io, I will upload upload some pictures soon.
@roka-josh and @thomu Thank you for giving my game a go, I really appreciate it.
I will be adding in a brightness adjustment bar in an options menu, as the game was developed according to my PC's brightness. It passed me by that the brightness will differ on other machines.
The pathfinding got a little wonky because he's so big and I was unable to fix it in time, but will be one of the first things to be corrected soon.
Wow! This is probably the first pixel game to give me goosebumps. The sound and mood was perfect! Just one suggestion is to add a way to lose that monster from chasing you.
This sounds like an amazing experience. Unfortunately I can't make this kind of call from South Africa. :sob:
This game does exactly what it's supposed to do...
Which is frustrate the hell out of the caller, wanting to throw my phone onto the ground. But it's a game, so instead I was laughing most of the time trying to remember all information that was given to me, because I didn't actually write things down.
Very well done, and very creative!
Fun puzzle game
THE GOOD: - Graphics are pleasing - Physics are handled well - Very innovative! - So many loops!
THE BAD: - Would've like some music and sound effects, but it's excluded, so no negative vote - Would like to see more levels and different loop abilities - End Game screen would be cool for a player reward
Fun little game. Took me a while to understand that I die when I run out of ammo. Nice that the pickups are maintained after death. I did however find even the Easy setting very difficult. Not sure what they keys are used for. So I ended up running around dodging the enemies and luckily found the exit.
I will rate your game once the ratings open up.
Please submit a link to build of the game.
Nice little game.
THE GOOD: - Executed the puzzle mechanics flawlessly - Perfect looping mechanic - Dialog is great - Puzzles are really nice
THE BAD: - The music "dinging" is very loud and becomes painful after a while - I got stuck at the Black and White diamond puzzle. I couldn't interact with either. Maybe I'm just dumb, but let me know. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
TO IMPROVE: - Rewarding the player for interacting with world objects. Random easter eggs are always fun. (I know time was limited)
This is very well done, typing tutor game. Would've loved to have seen an option to adjust speed and text size. But nicely done!
I love this so much!
- Music is amazing. (What did you use to make it?) - The alien eyes are a nice touch - The Abduction ending is so funny - Stuck in a loop, nice spin on it
The concept is great!
THE GOOD: - Racing games are always cool - The loop being the course itself - Voice acting is funny! - Leaderboard! - Instructions are in-game
THE BAD: - The course is very difficult - I only had patience for two laps
A very lovely little game. The controls are simple. The art is consistent and well done. It feels nicely polished!
Overall, very well done.
Audio and Art is really great in this game. Seen this concept in a few places this game jam, but this one is the most polished thus far.
Really nicely done
THE GOOD: - Great art style - Loved the concept - Could be very fun with a few small changes
THE BAD: - A mini tutorial on game controls would've been cool. - The river rises and falls too quickly, coupled with the slow minion movement makes it very difficult to get anything done, otherwise this would be a blast to play. - Building a farm and tool shed too close to each other causes the minions to bounce around a lot. - Some feedback to the player would've been nice: I can't tell when the minion is mining or not. - I didn't quite catch the "loop" theme, unless it's the minion washing away all the time?
@qfeys
Thanks for getting back on this: - I think slowing down the river rising or speeding up the minions would make the game a lot more forgiving. - A water rising warning could also work. - I've also had my fair share of unity physics issue  - Think a pun or hint at the theme will also be welcome.
A lot of potential!
THE GOOD: - Great graphics - Lots of potential - In-game instructions! ++
THE BAD: - No sci-fi music  - No button, robot, movement sound effects - Was looking forward to more complicated puzzles. (Lots of potential here)
Hey, Just a heads-up. Your game is taking a long time to load. It might put some people off from trying to play it. Maybe include download links for PCs?
This game needs way more ratings! It was terrifying... I wanted to switch it off the moment I started playing! Not because it's bad, but because it's so good at being scary...
The silence with the little bit of noise and static in between really did a good job at keeping me on the edge of my seat.
I was unable to complete the game unfortunately, cause I might get heart failure.
lol Error: 303
Read your description.
I totally know the feeling, I've been there before. Game Jams are the best way to push your self to learn new skills.
I know this isn't the game you wanted to make, but here's some feedback.
-------------------- Doing this in one hour is still very good, as it seems like it's working as intended. I would, however, have liked to see some sort of player feedback to confirm that it is registering my keyboard mashing. Like a power-up sound effect for each bar.
Well done for submitting something!
I couldn't stop laughing at what I was doing!
Loved the game!
THE GOOD: - Can never go wrong with a classic arcade - Combat is smooth - Burst is an amazing touch - Enemy animations are well done - Easy mode (I needed this for the first time) - Controls are in game! - Enemy warning signs - Enemy get tougher the more they are damaged!
THE BAD: - I wanted more levels! - Some smaller annoying side enemies would've been amazing
SIDE NOTES: - "Stuck in a Loop" not quite there, but bullets loop so I'll give it that  - Bullet loop was a little unclear, but the "Don't shoot yourself" gave me that hint
This feels like one of those Zen games.
Very neat idea. The graphics are very pretty when you've got something going for it.
Would've liked to have seen a tutorial of some kind in-game.
The music doesn't really suit in my opinion, something more Zenlike would've worked a lot better.
Loved the idea. The art is great.
The music was a little frustrating, and my bullets collided with my own head.
Looks like you tried to aim big for a Game Jam.
I'd like to see where this goes.
Loved the humor!
THE GOOD: - One button game, makes it simple - The humor is good - The curiosity to know if there's more has been exposed  - Player feedback/reward is great - Really stuck in a loop!
THE BAD: - I got a little stuck when the button vanished without any hints
Very neat little game.
It feels smoothly polished! Would've loved to have seen some kind of different levels or enemy types.
But this is done very well.
Thank you for playing @sirred. You have a very good point there. I will make a note of that.
@benbennett @seskon I should've made it more clear. Items have to be combined in a specific order. (For the player to figure out.)
SPOILER: - Pillow & Blanket = Bedding - BedBase & Mattress = UnmadeBed - Bedding & UnmadeBed = MadeBed - Move the MadeBed onto Bobby = Saving Bobby
@gilad-bar-ilan Thank you for playing.
@tayfun I will have to look into this, I have no idea why this would happen. What platform/browser did you encounter this on?
@namidasai Thank you for the feedback. I wanted to polish what I had first, unfortunately I had a few bugs and it took all my time to fix those. The plan was to have at least three missions with different puzzles.
@shashwat Unfortunately I didn't cater for touch screens, as the game requires the Left and Right mouse buttons to be held down at the same time and then the Spacebar to be pressed.
The TEXT is disappearing after the tutorial scene for some reason. This happens on Chrome and Edge, but does not happen on Firefox.
It seems like there's an issue with Unity's TextMeshPro. I will look into this now.
@obi-one Thank you for your feedback. I will work on making instructions clearer.
@seskon @tayfun
The disappearing text issues has been resolved. I deleted my build folder and ran a fresh build. There must have been some old reference in there somewhere. P.S. No code changes were made.
@zimny11
What version of Chrome are you running? I'm running the itch.io browser games fine on Chrome Version 85.0.4183.121 (Official Build) (64-bit)
@zimny11 Odd, I will Google around to see if I can find something that will help you.
Thanks for the feedback @thecakeconsortium. I have no idea how it's even possible to go to -100 without the game ending. It's a bit of an abstract puzzle that you need to figure out which objects to combine, until you're left with only one.
@danielcmcg @fussenkuh
I will have a look into the -100 health issue and the missing item. The game should start with four items: Pillow, blanket, mattress and BedBase.
@danielcmcg @fussenkuh
I think I found the issue. The game doesn't seem to scale with different resolutions. So if the resolution is running in something less that 1920 x 1080 the "Pillow" is off screen.
I will do a bug fix on this quick.
@danielcmcg @fussenkuh @thecakeconsortium @seskon @tayfun
BUG UPDATE: - FIXED: Text disappearing during Tutorial - FIXED: Falling Objects loading outside of game view (All objects should be able to combine now) - FIXED: -100 Mental Health Bug (Funny enough it was caused by an infinite loop)
@cesargary Only some of the items can be combined together.
Just for some clarity, to combine item 1 & item 2 you need to be holding both of them at the same time, by Left/Right clicking and holding on them.
There should be 4 items, excluding Bobby, falling on the screen when you first start.
SPOILER: - Pillow & Blanket = Bedding - BedBase & Mattress = UnmadeBed - Bedding & UnmadeBed = MadeBed - Move the MadeBed onto Bobby = Saving Bobby
Thank you @indieronin for the kind words. I'm glad that I have given you something to think about as well. It's always nice to hear when someone is able to learn from you.
Thank you @naali @letterafterz and @roboshamit for providing feedback. Always nice to hear good things.
@letterafterz Did you play on the browser or a downloaded copy? I know there was an issue on the browser version, which was fixed after uploading a new build.
@shaolin-dave
Thank you for your feedback. I'm aware that aspect ratios do mess up the game's UI sometimes. I still need to figure out how to develop around that, as Unity doesn't support it built in.
@shaolin-dave I'm actually using the scale with screen size for all the GUIs. The problem that I had was scaling the actual game view to different aspect ratios, without having some of the items disappear off screen. So the game will play fine on 16:9, but not on 4:3.
@dcrdro Thank you for giving the game a go! I will definitely need to work on the catch collisions.
@zeu31 Please have a look now. I forgot to remove the restrictions off my Google Drive link sharing.
Thank you @shaolin-dave, I definitely focus on making this a habit. I appreciate the assistance.
Thank you @kantieno and @ramble-house-games for giving my game a go.
I will make the instructions a bit clearer when I have some free time.
@ashashza @zeu31
I will definitely be reconsidering the mouse controls to make it a little more intuitive for the player. The idea is that the player needs to hold both items at the same time, which requires a degree of actual concentration. Which is why I went with Left and Right Click and Hold.
I will play around with the mechanics, until I find something that feels great.
Thank you @ghuyajil for your feedback!
It seems like the main areas that need improvement are: - Item "container" dots are confusing. - Click and Hold not being clear enough. I have an idea on how to fix this, which might work for touch screens as well. - Longer and more complex levels needed. Maybe more items and faster dropping speed.
Had some good fun with this game!
THE GOOD: - The running feels smooth - Challenging!
THE BAD: - Wish the bats moved a bit - The jumping can be improved. The longer you hold spacebar, the higher you jump, and on release you start falling back down. (Mechanic used in a lot of games like this)
SIDE NOTES: - This is a Game Jam entry, not a COMPO entry. Therefore using pre-made assets are perfectly fine as long as it's not an asset flip. - As a programmer, I can tell that a lot of work went into putting everything together. - Games are deeper than just their sounds and visuals. - They did opt out of Graphics and Audio, so this is a very fair entry. - IMPORTANT: @jag, I would list all the Assets used in your entry to be transparent with everyone voting on your game.
I gave your game a go. It seem like time caught up with you.
I can see what you went for, and it would've been an amazing game. However, after defeating the boss for the first time, I received 2 Normal Points. I was unable to spend those points on the menu unfortunately. I'm not sure if this is a bug or if you ran out of time?
Let me know.
Nice game concept.
The planting of traps was nice, and the stuck in a look was done in a unique manner.
The audio effects were a bit loud, I ended up muting the game after a while. Also I would've loved to have seen bullet animation, as I couldn't tell that the shooting mechanic was actually working.
Nice little game!
THE GOOD: - Different ghosts are a nice touch - Random teleportation is a nice mechanic - Animations are great
THE BAD: - The game gets difficult very quickly. (Lots of ghosts, moving very fast) - Firing delay is very long. (Removing the delay would make this a fun shooter game) - Would've been nice if the above story and instructions were in-game.
Nicely done for you first COMPO.
Interesting concept!
I wasn't sure what I was doing. I am very anti-social in general! Art work is wonderful. The "share" sound effect is a bit annoying.
Can confirm, link is broken.
This is a gorgeous looking game!
THE GOOD: - Graphics and audio is great! - Great concept, with potential for making it a great game - Tutorial in game!
THE BAD: - The movement is slow, when not using the loop mechanic. - I was still a bit confused at exactly what I had to do. - It feels a bit too reliant on luck?
Otherwise, well done overall!
As a software developer, I loved this game!
LoopCode.PNG
THE GOOD: - Theme executed perfectly - Puzzles are really good - I couldn't help but finish, as I had so much fun - Sound effects are nice
THE BAD: - I didn't know that REPEATS will execute commented code (Figured it out by accident after thinking some levels had a bug) - Levels aren't ordered from east to difficult. - Would've loved some cool sci-fi music - Took a while to figure out that I had to match the output with the [While != ]
Those babies are stealing all my food!
Very nicely done, fun browser game!
I kept thinking something was going to jump out at me... That ending though... Also the game started when I clicked on a button other than play. Then I was unable to play the game again, as it just gets stuck on the input screen.
Really fun game, and really set a tense mood!
Hey, You need to build your game and upload a playable version of it. If possible create a itch.io page and upload an HTLM5 version of your game there.
Great visuals and audio. I just couldn't get past the first level, as the controls are quite awkward, and I think the hit box on the character is a little too big. At times it doesn't even look like I made contact with the enemy, but then I'm dead. A little tutorial, or super easy level would've worked nicely as well.
This game needs more ratings!
I really liked the graphics and audio of this game. The cursor confused me for a bit, it looked like a tiny bird or something. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
Really fun little game. You need to rate other people's games in order to get your game bumped up higher
@tradingbooch12 I downloaded the .jar file and it's not opening anything. I have Java V12 installed. Would you be able to upload in a different format?
@tradingbooch12 I will give it a go. I'm on Windows yea.
Unfortunately the .exe also doesn't open.
I love the vibe from this game. It's a bit awkward steering with the arrow keys though. It would've been amazing to steer with your mouse cursor, and to be able to use the WASD keys as alternatives to the arrow keys. I managed to reach the red planet :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
Love the way this game plays.
The Intro and Tutorials are really well done.
Got some StarCraft Protos vibes. smile
Love the survive for 10 seconds design. Game feels super smooth and polished. Overall an amazing entry!
Feels really smooth. I would've loved a dash mechanic, or if the ship was a little faster. The overall design feels good and was really fun to play.
Love the art style and concept of the game. I struggled hitting things quite a bit, but spamming the attack button did the job after a while.
@kostas-nik I would've loved adding a bit of verticality to the game. Some jumping puzzles would've been awesome. Might actually still add this in at a future date.
Thank you for the kind reviews.
@simba I thought about doing check points, but I also wanted the game to be tough. If the game was longer or had more levels, then checkpoints would definitely be required. Luckily once you've learned from your mistakes it gets a lot easier after that. Kinda took a bit of a souls like approach for a puzzle game.
@thedude3600 I had a quick look into the issue and found the problem. The rigid body wasn't locked on the Y axis, so rotating quickly would create some velocity that continues after you stop moving your mouse. I will try to fix this today and release an updated build.
@glacian Thank you for the input, I should probably add a Settings menu that allows players to adjust this.
Fix the below bugs on the itch.io page.
@thedude3600 I fixed the rotation drift issue. @glacian I didn't have Time.deltaTime as part of my rotation calculations, so people with beefy PCs will be spinning like crazy. I fixed this.
Thanks for all the feedback.
@balduin just uploaded a fixed version for this.
@vkaike2 I did consider this, but I'm a sucker for FPS games
Thank you @robobarbie, @house-trap-charlie, and @djtequila for playing my entry.
I really appreciate the kind words, and I'm happy to hear that you enjoy it.
Thank you everyone for playing my game, I really appreciate the feedback.
The game was designed with the intention of being reset from the start of the game, otherwise the last puzzle would be very difficult to figure out.
If the game was any longer then I would've made a level based checkpoint.
The idea was to make a Souls-like Puzzle game... if that's even a thing.
@someone "The intro suggested that things in the world would be rest, which they do not." Good point, I should've worded that differently. The entire level resetting could've actually been an interesting feature though.
@tommy It's quite a large game being 3D, and was mainly intended to be downloaded. I realize that only people that have really good internet are able to play it in the browser.
Love the concept of the game.
Would love to see a bit more rules to the random weapons. Like certain conditions increases the chance of getting certain spawns.
I had the energy drink, pistol, and medkit way too often and ended up running away most of the game.
But really loved the overall experience!
I love the look of the game, but after a few min I actually got really motion sick. I guess that is what it would feel like to play game drunk.
Well done on how well and polished the game feels.
This reminded me of those old ASCII adventures! Really love this concept with the commands you feed to the hero. The art style also really suit the kind of era these kind of games comes from.
Gorgeous art and gameplay style. That aiming and perspective was a little strange at first, but once I got the hang of it, things got easier
This game is fabulous!
It took me a while to realize that I could combine the different colors to make the spells stronger. But I was unstoppable once I figured that out.
I just wish the enemies moved a bit faster, or spawned more frequently. I never used the healing spells, and I was killing things that weren't even on screen yet.
But really love the overall concept.
I'm amazed at how many mini games you've made. Although I wish I could spend more time in one before it switches over to the next. But I guess that is the idea behind the game
Nicely done!
Love the gun only shooting every 10 seconds. I was a bit confused when the game started and there was nothing to shoot. Then I saw the bugs in the bottom corridor.
Love the concept of this game!
The audio is amazing, and the visuals are great.
I wish the aiming was a bit more snappy, and not so wobbly.
But well done on the game!
Gorgeous game! Love the arcade vibe!
Just had a few performance hits when the cogs are spawning, and the close shop button didn't work.
But really well done!
Outstanding game! The dark mood was really well done. I would've liked to see fewer available candles, as I ended up having over 20 when I died. Some tougher boss monsters would've also been amazing.
Really good game though, it feels really good!
