Very cool art! Great game!!

sirred 2020-10-06 02:51

Wow. Fantastic sound and visual design. The story was very nice and unique for each iteration so it did not feel repetitive.

bottini 2020-10-06 02:58

The best I've seen so far. Amazing job!!11!1 S&ND H*#$LP

somnium 2020-10-06 15:38

That was certainly an interesting experience!

I loved the progression, great mood, and a very eerie use of the graphics and sound.

A single thing I found a bit confusing, was that the later repeat of the "what is your name" prompt did not recognize the same input (i.e. the player's name) as it did when it appeared the first time.

As SirRed mentioned, each iteration felt sufficiently different to make the player look forward to seeing how that weirdness would be topped in the next.

cesargary 2020-10-06 21:03

@jenny-bourke Thanks, love your art!

@sirred Thanks, loved the shoot below you mechanic.

@somnium Thanks, yup, we planned that promt to do something later but we had no time left for that feature, we left it incomplete.

@bottini Thanks! laught so hard with the worker dog and the turbo trash can xd

anocturnaldream 2020-10-06 21:18

Strong PT vibes! Really enjoyed this!

sol-roo 2020-10-06 21:21

[DONT READ THIS, JUST PLAY IT]

this is incredible, i did not read the description and went right in attracted by the graphics, and even I must say you perfectly captured the caretaker's work feel. It gave me chills! not in the classical horror way, but in a clear lost of conciousness way. It works perfectly as a conceptual piece, and you should be very proud of having such a solid narrative project in 3 days. That said, you should consider extending this, as it simply WORKS. Bravo!

thomas-carey 2020-10-06 21:22

Great PT-like atmosphere- the sounds and music were absolutely amazing.

a4x8e6 2020-10-06 21:29

Great progression, the changes each time were different which kept it fresh. The subtle music changes and darkness changing slowly sinks you into an unnerving feeling. Reminded me a bit of Tranquility Lane from Fallout 3 at the start. Engaging :)

aiko 2020-10-06 21:29

Wow. I knew we were going to get some P.T. inspired games but you outdid yourself. For such a simple game every single loop was gripping and different. You didn't drag it out too long or pulled any jumpscares, these are the kinds of horror games i love.

Also, can I talk about the **MUSIC**! Definitely the best part of the game. The loop was very satisfying, and it actually only became better when you started messing with it. I'm incredibly impressed.

Thank you for letting me play this. Honestly.

I did wish for a second that there could be more endings, each revealing a little bit of the story behind the game, but I think that might be a bit much to ask for 72 hours.

edomiyamoto 2020-10-06 21:37

I didn't read the description and was expecting scary things, but when I did the first loop... Immediately though about the caretaker ! Very good job, graphics are awesome, soundtrack fit perfectly, story is well taught.. I'm amazed !

c0nt 2020-10-06 21:37

Really cool. I liked how it constantly held you on the edge of your seat. Walking the tight rope between happy and surreal and scary. It felt like something was wrong, but like the guy on the console, I'm also unsure what it was.

sli 2020-10-06 21:40

Wow!! Great experience thank you. Pretty suspenseful as well.

Great, Great stuff. Good Job!

jefvel 2020-10-06 21:43

I didn't read the description before playing, almost immediately thought about The Caretaker!

You captured his feel really well in game form. A really nice experience.

james-joubert 2020-10-06 21:55

I kept thinking something was going to jump out at me... That ending though... Also the game started when I clicked on a button other than play. Then I was unable to play the game again, as it just gets stuck on the input screen.

Really fun game, and really set a tense mood!

garys 2020-10-06 22:06

This was pretty amazing... and disturbing... I'm very impressed by how the game was able to evoke emotion. I read on the itch page that it explored dementia, and I had that in mind as I played. Wow. The sense of loss of self is really quite palpable. The sound design really made the whole experience for me - as it glitched and as the malevolent voices encroached. Also: No windows in any of the rooms, made the whole thing feel claustrophic, lonely and oppressive.

Really well done!

lestat 2020-10-06 22:06

A cool scary experience definitely. Good job!

mirakazumi 2020-10-06 22:20

Wah i expected that somethink would jump on me! lovet the "vinyl" audio ang graphic  after unlocking door i were like 100% that somethink will kill me now XD great moment to do the loop tho, it really has something only camera movement felt little weird- like smooth but glithed a the same time?

narom42 2020-10-06 22:52

Really disturbing in a good way :) I clearly felt the feeling of going crazy. I'm glad you did not go on the horror side but kept on the weirdness one. Congrats !

andygates01 2020-10-06 23:36

Really well done! Brilliant atmosphere and the music works great. Was expecting a cheesy jump scare but it never came, great stuff!

cesargary 2020-10-06 23:39

@james-joubert Yup,it is supposed to crash when you press any button at the title screen, and yep, you "can't" play it again, but if you open the game with the empty console and press "F12", then restart it and you can "play it again" *wink*

Also thanks for the feedback <3

dani-tufeld 2020-10-07 06:27

great game expiriance, i was really sucked in, the mood set perfect and gave my the chill near the end even witout anything happening, felt like something is going to jump on my any moment.

the modeling and game design very impresive in such a short time

nice Job!!!

cesargary 2020-10-07 21:39

@sol-roo Thank you very much, It's so charming that you liked it that much, thanks for the feedback, we were planning working in a longer proyect involving that feel, but with having to work and school it makes it difficult, also played your game and it feels amazingly polished and you should continue it as an actual mobile phone app

cesargary 2020-10-07 21:44

@anocturnaldream @thomas-carey @a4x8e6 @aiko @garys @sli @jefvel @lestat @narom42 @andygates01 @dani-tufeld

Thank you everyone for the amazing feedback, we are so happy you enjoyed this "unusual" kind of experience, we've played your games too and they are all amazing, having a lot of fun with all the diferent ideas and mechanics, greatings from México

wegpast 2020-10-07 22:12

It's a really good game you made it here ! It's inspired by the Theme of the game jam ! (I played too many games that weren't even using a little bit of the theme for this jam so it worth mentioning ...) It's a full adventure loop with creepy mood. Great Job ! Sound volume was a bit high though...

jammygunns 2020-10-07 23:22

You absolutely nailed the mood with the music loop. When it cut out the as I started the second loop it set me on edge for the rest of the game. Even caught myself asking if a really did grab the key just before the console did. When the voices started I got into the corridor as soon as I can to back up to the wall thinking I was in for a scare. Found there was one wall with no collision on it and fell out of the map. It does have the feel there was more you wanted to do but as you said time can cause some ideas to be cut, a short back and forth conversation with the console would be fun along with different endings. Overall it was a brilliant experience to... I 4g0t what I w@s 5ay1ng

sharks 2020-10-07 23:39

Bravo, bravo, bravo! The ideao of introducing the console via the menu was so smart and innovative! The changing music loop really put me on edge. The **whole. Entire. Time.** I had chills running *throughout* my body. I don't do well with horror games but I managed to force my way through yours.. and I'm glad I did, what an amazingly done game, and I extremely applaud you for not using jumpscares, I couldn't really enjoy it cause i was always expecting jumpscares but it's ok.

cesargary 2020-10-07 23:52

Thank you for your support and feedback you are helping us to fix the game to an optimal level, glad you like this new kind of experience <3 greatings from México

@wegpast We're glad you liked it! Thanks for the feedback, we will lower the volume in the next build we upload.

@jammygunns FATAL ERROR: T%HANK!S FO?R T#E FEEDBA%CK&... Glad you liked it! And thanks for the implementations we could make in a new redesign of the game, do you remember where was the wall without collision so we could fix it? hehe, thanks for the support <3

@sharks Glad you got a different approach to the horror genere, I know jumpscares are kinda cheap (if not used in a way to tell the story) I could recomend you some horror short games that doesn´t relly on jumpscares if you want, anyways thanks for the support and the feedback!

guitarbro 2020-10-08 23:30

Really interesting atmospheric horror you've got going on. The fog seemed perhaps a bit overkill, but hey, it worked. Definitely nailed the mood with the effects and music, regardless. Would have been nice if the settings menu actually worked so you could turn the volume down slightly. :stuck_out_tongue: I found some of the glitchy sounds a little harsh on my ears. As others have mentioned, the changing music over time was a nice touch and worked well with the environmental changes. This might just be my interpretation, but it seemed to be a take on someone dealing with alzheimer's? If so, that's pretty deep for a jam game. Well done, either way.

abdul-zakkar 2020-10-09 00:28

I have only positive things to say for this game, it definitely takes you through an experience! Everything fit well together, from the sound to the amazing visuals, and even the slow walking pace played into mood. Well done!

overlook-studios 2020-10-09 01:22

Completely blown away with this. Seriously one of the most complete experiences i've played yet. I personally am a sucker for ambient horror so this really hit the mark with me. The progression of the levels getting stranger and stranger accompanied by this old nostalgic soundtrack that equally devolves with the visuals just gave me chills. The game itself is simple in nature but I'm glad you guys focused on story telling more than introducing distracting mechanics. Its a specific type of horror thats not the easiest to pull off without cheap scare tactics, you really showed the attention to detail and the understanding of what really invokes that unsettling feeling in a game like this. Truly one of my favourite submissions yet and it's a crime its so underrated.

ayxs 2020-10-09 10:34

Wow, what an awesome experience! Really well made!! I really love the crashing effects you used in the game! The audio fits great!

Well f*cking done!!!

bredera 2020-10-09 11:26

Wow, this is probably the best game I have played so far it is just a complete package, from the amazing art and graphics to the great use of music and sound effects. And the story is cool and unsettling. this game gave me PT vibes. Amazing experience!

oblivion-games 2020-10-09 22:27

Really amazing game! I loved the atmosphere, and just everything about it.

jk5000 2020-10-10 06:51

Interesting

jakob-reborn 2020-10-10 19:08

Suuuper weird and great. Loved the length of the bathtub haha! Hated this key that got out of it, it gave me almost a heart attack. Spectacular work! I wish it gets even more ratings 'cause it deserves it. Somehow reminded me of Marble Hornets and their future works.

mackandrius 2020-10-10 23:23

Hahaha intense!! Reminded me a lot of PT, but a different take on the concept, loved the glitches both in the visuals and the music and the overall tension building. Excellent job, but I wonder - was I supposed to write 'end' on the last computer?

cesargary 2020-10-12 21:19

@mackandrius Thanks for the feedback <3 Yup you are supposed to write "end" on the console and you get game crash, then it ends, but the ballroom is eternal...

gaming-night 2020-10-12 21:27

Lightning is so beautiful, very good job, loved it :)

trexxak 2020-10-12 23:20

Ah yes, caretaker :)

Very immersive experience, maybe on the same level as the music you were inspired by, just in another format and... quicker.

No flaws I can talk about honestly. Chapeau bas! Thank you so much for your tremendous work in this short timeframe! u_u

tattomoosa 2020-10-13 02:00

Great mood, very eery and tense, great graphics, extremely interesting. I'll be thinking about this one for a bit.

ghuyajil 2020-10-13 08:52

This is very well done! Would be even nicer if you would have saved the state of the game to PlayerPrefs and make it impossible to play again unless you removed them - but that might be a bit too bold/risky I guess ;)

rainbows-are-fun 2020-10-16 18:14

So creepy, very good atmosphere. Well done!

island-jam-2-group-3 2020-10-25 21:07

I loved the game and the unique atmosphere you guys archieved! If I would have a complaint it would be that the flickering effects were a bit annoying for me ^^U. Despite that, awesome job!

2021-09-24 08:33

What a great design, the truth is I really liked the graphic engine that you chose, especially that it gives a lot of detail to each corner, even though the truth is that it needs some old carpets like on https://www.dorisleslieblau.com/ to make it look like an older home or in a more warm way With things like antiques or things like old paintings you can try looking for reference pages.
