haha addictive game, I think it would work really well on mobile.

Very well done guys! Definitely think this has a lot of potential and should be developed to the end. The feel of the game is great, graphics are awesome, music fits perfectly. I agree with what some of the peeps in the comments above mentioned - would be nice to catch a break in the merchant store for a sec, maybe not a complete pause, but at least for a bit longer (obviously if the player does not want to wait, he or she shouldn't be forced to!)
It's tricky to understand which weapon fits which enemy, I was sort of guessing as well, but I'm sure you guys could figure this one out with some brainstorming. Also just an idea to add something like a suit of armour with a separate health bar, or possibly something like 3 lives to the player? As much as I've played, I didn't get a lot of potions and most of the time there wasn't much I could do to survive. (or maybe I missed something)
Anyway, amazing job, especially as it was done so quickly! Would love to see a full version, cheers!
Very clean and well polished looking game that does take some thinking to master. Awesome soundtrack and great overall feel. Amazing job, guys!
Thanks for all the feedback, guys! @cheetah haha thanks, Mortal Combat was indeed an influence :smiley:
take that @goda :smile:
BOW TO YOUR NEW KING!!
Score: 28730 :crown:
Bugs Killed: 293
Bugs Escaped: 2/10
Amazing job guys, really liked the visuals and general feel of the game. In my humble opinion *light* astronaut animations would give a bit more life to the inside of the ship. I liked the soothing sound track, but there were some technical issues as at some times the audio was clipping, most likely due to a lack of fades in the audio track. Very easy fix tho. Great idea with the scrolling down mechanic to shoot the asteroids - merges two classic game genres seamlessly. :thumbsup:
Anyway, my favourite game so far, cheers!
AI needs a bit of a polish haha, but otherwise fun game! :laughing:
Great entry, shout out to the composer - really liked how the theme developed throughout the levels of the game, having the sound effects match the harmony is a great idea and adds to the immersion of the experience. Loved the minimal aesthetic of the game and that overall everything was very consistent and well polished. And the gameplay is fun as well - excellent job, guys! One minor 'bug' that I encountered was that if I would press the space bar just before dying, it would sort of 'carry' into the next level and I would start the replay by jumping up immediately. That didn't effect my experience too much, just thought you might want to know that.
Amazing job 10/10
Wow, absolutely blown away, truly amazing entry!! It's incredible that you managed to do all of that by yourself in such a short time, makes me wonder what you would come up with if you'd develop this to the end :thumbsup:
Wow superb entry, I think I will actually play this one every once in a while! :smile: Great soundtrack, awesome visuals, generally pretty much a finished game, good job guys, loved it! :thumbsup: although @kostak made a good point, that this could work with just a mouse as well, using the keyboard made me make a few "typos" leading to mistakes, but I guess that's my own fault haha
The art style and animations were absolutely adorable hahaha :laughing: The music supported the visuals really well too, although could've used a few more sound effects. Great entry, would be nice to see this developed a bit more, as I've beat the game really quickly. Could become a really good puzzle game :thumbsup:
Nice one, guys! Loved the menu and visuals! Although I'd like to say that it was very difficult and a bit annoying to restart the game from the very beginning after touching anything while playing. I think a health bar/force-field would do wonders, then instead of restarting you could at least take some damage before hand. But still - good job!
Awesome entry! Loved the pixel art, I think you should most definitely finish developing this one, adding a few more weapons, levels would would elevate the experience even more. I think it would also be nice to have some sort of visual/sound effects when you lose a life. (I realise you didn't have enough time to do this during the jam and that's fair enough!) At first I thought it was a bit too difficult, but when I got used to the mechanics managed to beat the game in my fourth attempt :v: Anyway, great job guys, would love to see this finished up!
Hah, great idea and superb execution, very funny, neat and polished jam entry. Congrats!
Absolutely brilliant concept and interesting take on the theme that works very well with it. Very smart mechanic, good job. I think you should expand on this for sure. Just a thought, feel free to ignore, but since the loop area has stop/play/record signs and stuff, I thought perhaps the item being used could be a camera instead of a staff hah. In any case, amazing entry!
Finished the entire thing, great job! Nice scope management for a jam game I think and you did a good polish. The game itself was fun, it was satisfying to finally beat the last level (after many many tries haha). The audio level was way too low though, I'd recommend making it a quite a bit louder. Regardless, congrats on a solid entry!
Hey @eduardo-yukio, welcome back!! Sorry about that, but hang in there we'll throw in a patch after work today with quality settings and a bit of optimisation.
@eduardo-yukio we've done a hot-fix for you now, should be working better, if not we will look into it more thoroughly later today.
@noirox @watermelonandme thanks a lot for the feedback and the kind words and apologies for the frustration! We're getting a lot of people saying that the TV puzzle is confusing, so it's nothing to do with your puzzle solving skills, rather the design of the puzzle itself needs improvement. However, instead of telling you how to to solve it just yet, we'll do a quick patch for the puzzle, so that if you ever come back you might be able to solve it yourself!
@klaaswag @giordas thanks a lot! 🙌🙌
@bonobomaximus thanks a lot! @abdul-zakkar thanks, puzzle fix on the way!
Sooo we've tweaked the TV puzzle, hopefully it should be solvable now 🤞
By the way, drop us a screenshot of what you come up with in the sandbox mode, so we could recreate and jam to it here! Here's mine to get the party going 🕺
sandbox.jpg
@javasaurus Thanks again for playing and very glad you liked it! Definitely thinking about VR for this as well. Regarding the difficulty, we think that the learning curve is too steep at the moment, but if there would be more levels in between the second and the third rooms, the players might become more accustomed to the mechanics and puzzle types before reaching the TV room and hopefully it wouldn't suddenly become so difficult. Something to consider taking this project further! :smile:
@dani-tufeld thanks for the feedback!
@gonzalol @bibicio @thevideogamester Thanks for playing the game and for your feedback, we really appreciate it! :heart: As many people are getting stuck on the more difficult puzzles, we're in the works of implementing an optional hint system, so that people who get stuck and want to advance could do so. @thevideogamester Thanks for pointing out the L colour problem, even though they were the same, because of the lighting it didn't appear to match perfectly, we'll fix that in the next update!
@nik184 Thanks a lot!
@fluffy-kaeloky Ah, the tv puzzle... :sweat_smile: Thanks for playing and the feedback! Had a look at FRACT OSC and it looks amazing, I definitely get where you see the similarities, thanks for showing it!
@whynotyt Thanks for the kind words and super happy you enjoyed the sandbox mode! If you make some cool loops there, be sure to share it with us via a screenshot, so we could recreate it! :man_dancing: Sorry, that you had performance issues, that's definitely something we need to look at and your suggestions will be addressed!
@thales-guimaraes Oh wow thank you, flattered! :pray:
@krysh Thanks so much for playing and for the feedback! Regarding the TV room, this might help - as @erikiene put it "the word above the door offers several clues. One contextual (via the meaning of the word) and one more direct (via the parts of the word)."
@matlab First player-made Sandbox track, woohoo!! We love it! Thanks for sharing it with us and yes, a BPM changing option was definitely within the list of things we wanted to do for this jam, but in the end didn't have enough time for. If you ever feel like listening to your music easily again - we recreated your track and put it up here!
https://youtu.be/1Wxlb8IoQH0
@hoolop Thanks for playing and for the feedback! Oh yes we're definitely thinking of doing something more, consider following us on [twitter](https://twitter.com/UnvrsllyAbsrd), we'll be posting updates (even though there's nothing there yet haha)
@jrevel haha I knew more people must've thought about something similar! Very inspiring indeed and thanks for playing!
@loligxp Oh wow, that was amazing, we recreated your track and hell yeah - it's killer! I just wish we had given you more options and more lines for each instrument, perhaps an option to change in between sections, I can only imagine what you would've come up with then! Thanks so much for sharing and if you ever want to hear it again, here's your recreated track:
https://youtu.be/eXzKxMO-6Tw
@Anonymous thanks a lot for the feedback, whoever you are :spy:
@hicko thanks :)
@apfel thank you :)
@cdunham thanks for playing and for the awesome entry! I beg to differ regarding your comment on your music making skills! I really love the way that the keys line seems to morph and variate when listening together with the bass, seems it's always kind of evolving, love it! Here - listen for yourself!
https://youtu.be/v8cXDk-mcvk
@garys Hey thanks so much for playing, the screen and the feedback! Apologies about the room being too dark, our original idea was to play around with the lighting so that it would react to the music, but unfortunately we couldn't do that in time... buuuut we added a flashlight hahah ('L' to toggle). And we wrote down the confirmation thingy on our to-do list, thanks.
Very happy you managed to crack the hi-hat puzzle with the help of the community, that's awesome! Yeah we're sad as well that the keys puzzle isn't there (...yet, something might happen after the jam ends...). Again, we had a puzzle in mind, we even left the models for the keys that @cerka made (we think they're very pretty), but alas we envisioned a bit too much :smile: That's something we will try to rectify with our next Jam.
Lastly LOVED your composition, super groovy and I particularly liked the way you used the attack on the orange Keys notes, sort of introduced a rhythmicality to the line, really cool! Here's your stuff on youtube :raised_hands: :
https://youtu.be/MBccLaoY_CI
@jammygunns Thanks for the feedback and playing. We totally agree that the learning curve is way too steep after the second room, some easier puzzles before getting to the TVs would definitely help set players in the right mindset for the puzzle. Looking forward to hearing what you make in the Sandbox!
@palemek haha thanks for playing and the feedback, very happy you didn't give up! :muscle:
@papaver Thank you and congrats on beating the game! So cool that your hints are helping other people as well, that's great. Totally blown away by your track, it's been playing here in the background for ages and it still remains fresh. Very musical use of the stops as well, really really great stuff! :bow: On youtube:
https://youtu.be/yt2hXZ6qByc
@f1krazy Hey thanks for playing and very happy you managed to get through it! Happy to hear that even though it's not particularly easy, it's still doable :pray:
@killerkun hell yeah, so cool that you didn't give up and got through it :muscle: Perhaps the hint you left will help other players if they get stuck, nice one!
@trexxak hahah thanks and great that you found some help in the community! :raised_hands: and thank you so much for the submission, loved the track has this uplifting positive vibe to it, it fascinates me how different everyone's compositions get to be, very inspiring! Standing "F" ovation from our team here to you sir :clap: :clap: :clap:

@jjoeyay Thanks for playing and your feedback is very much appreciated, really glad you liked it!
Thanks everyone who rated, commented and played the game! This was an amazing and truly inspiring experience. Difficult to put to words how much fun it was recreating the music that you guys created with the tools that we gave you, it was amazing how different and interesting every single entry was, even though the tools themselves were quite limited. Massive thanks to everyone and we're bashing 'F' to applaud every single one! :heart:
That was a lot of fun, the controls were smooth and I got hooked quite quickly. Although I am not sure about those blue cars, as the game is hard as it is (well at least for me lol) and in the later levels one collision makes the lap obsolete and then I need to spend half a minute to give it another go to then again be struck by one of those reckless driving blue... bas.. drivers :laughing: It might be just me though. In any case excellent job!
I mean wow people, this looks spectacular! Loved the sound and especially the music, it sounded like you didn't use virtual instruments, did you set out to record the soundtrack as well? All that being said, I did get a bit confused with what I was doing if I am being perfectly honest, I did finish it, but was a bit lost as to why haha, but that might be just me. Anyway, overall - amazing work, congrats!
looks great, I like the combat music switch you did and was good fun sliding around haha
Really clever take on the theme and super cool mechanic. Looks fantastic as well, amazing job!
Loved the visuals and the the crispy sounds, fun gameplay as well, excellent job!
Hah, definitely one of the most fun entries I've played here, I just wish it wouldn't have forced the game ending, so that I could have come back and played around a bit more! I had a laugh at the marketing options, great stuff, loved it!
Challenging, fun, concise entry, loved it, played throught the entire thing! Looked great as well and the sound design was on point. Congrats!
Hey amazing job, I think this might be my favourite yet, straight forward, concise concept, very good idea for a jam and fits the theme well, so congrats! Reminded me of snake, I think I would've been playing a lot of something like this on my nokia lol Screenshot 2020-10-08 233634.jpg
Looks amazing, great music, atmosphere and mood. I would suggest tho, that it'd be great if it would be possible to click on a dialog box to load instantly rather than having it load up every time. Congrats tho, amazing job especially with this little time!
Great entry and amazing accomplishment in such a short time! It did get quite difficult when I had to juggle the thirst, hunger and temp metrics all at once, but still seemed fair. Congrats!
Hey great mechanic and fun game, took me a while to get how it works, but once I did I enjoyed it! Perhaps some sort of tutorial level would be handy to teach the players how it works. Nevertheless, great job, congrats!
Game looks great and I think the movement and destruction mechanics were very well done, however after finding the first upgrade, I couldn't locate the other one and was a bit lost as to what I needed to do? Perhaps I missed something. Regardless, very impressive aesthetic and great job, just some guidance for people like me would've been a good addition imho. Congrats tho!
Great entry with fun gameplay and polished quite nicely. Had loads of fun playing it, congrats!
Great entry, loved the world building and the visual aesthetic you went for, congrats!
loved the atmosphere you created for this, enjoyed the playthrough, although in the first day didn't know what I was doing and double cleaned all the floors I think because I turned right at the beginning and not left. But afterward I got it and it was great, congrats on a job well done!
Game look fantastic, the atmosphere is there, sound are nice, however I did get lost quite close to the beginning and couldn't figure out what to do. But regardless, amazing entry considering how little time you had. By the way the A doesn't work to go left I had to press Q
Great entry, loved the graphics, especially the enemies! The sound seems to be too low though and not entirely sure how it related to the theme? Regardless, great job!
Good job, had fun playing it, maybe the beginning could be a bit faster for re-plays
Nice one! I thought the music and repetitive tasks create this sort of meditative atmosphere. It was very enjoyable and funny, congrats!
Hey played through the entire thing, loved the drawings and the puzzles were intuitive to solve, which led to a good game flow. Liked the minimal track for the music as well, some sound design I think would give a lot of life to this. Job well done considering how little time you had and that you did it on your own.
Nice and simple, although quite tricky to master the controls, after a while I did get used to them. Nice jam entry, congrats!
Awesome, excellent idea for the core mechanics of the game. If you continue to work on it I think it really could turn into something. I think an atmospheric music style would work great here, something a bit more ambient, a windy soundscape and organic sound effects. Congrats on a job well done and got to say the spider freaked me out :laughing:
Looked great and nice mechanic, although I noticed that the music didn't loop? Oh and another one weren't the character names supposed to be Bhoot & Toohb (as opposed to the second one being Toobh? haha) Nevertheless, great achievement especially in such a short time, congrats!
Hey, loved the music and the mood and of course massive thumbs up for the naruto run!!
I thought it's a very interesting concept that fits the theme well, excellent work! I didn't manage to get to the very end, but I think I got quite close. Liked the pingpong ball sfx idea as well. Very beautiful aesthetics!
Hahaha intense!! Reminded me a lot of PT, but a different take on the concept, loved the glitches both in the visuals and the music and the overall tension building. Excellent job, but I wonder - was I supposed to write 'end' on the last computer?
Extremely well polished pretty much done game, amazing job! My only thought would be to perhaps make level name pop up shorter on replays, I'd consider only showing the level name on only on the first go as on multiple level replays it I think it needlessly slows down the gameplay. Loved the visual aesthetics, the sound design is nice and crisp and the music fits the game. Congrats, best game so far!
Looks great and has a good atmosphere, however the spider got stuck on my third or fourth day and was just looping in the corner, oh and I noticed the the guitar riff during the attack doesn't loop, but then again probably no one is supposed to hear it for as long as I did hah. By the way how do you light the torch? :open_mouth: nevertheless, great entry and job well done!
@nekopi oh right, gotcha! I think it must've been on the third or fourth night, I was waiting by my electricity pool trap setup and the spider wouldn't arrive so I started walking around and found it stuck above the fuel tank (it didn't seem to be touching anything and the walking animation was being played)
Wow! Thanks for all the feedback people, this is incredible! 🙏 Sorry about the ratings thing, we were all very confused as to why people couldn't rate the game, but that seems to be sorted now. We'd very much appreciate your ratings if you wouldn't mind doing them in retrospect 👀
On behalf of our audio team, I'll try to respond to comments on the audio. It's so great to see all your feedback, ideas and that at least a portion of you up until now seem to be liking the sound. I noticed that a few of you mentioned that the VOs were difficult to understand - that's very helpful and will be fixed in the future, thanks.
@melbadream thanks for pointing out the bug, where the atmospheric pressure sounds continue to play if finishing the game, whilst receiving atmospheric pressure damage. That one has already been fixed in the current SONAR_v1.0.2bugfixes build
@leon-regula Cheers! Wwise is brilliant!
@settings thanks for the feedback, I completely agree! The atmosphere actually does change and becomes 'heavier' as you descend deeper and new sounds appear as well, but I agree that it certainly could be more apparent. Glad you liked the the VOs and thanks for pointing out they are not intelligible enough. Originally, they were supposed to be coming from the sub and not understandable at all, but then during development I kept making them louder and louder until they sort of became a game mechanic. So now they're sort of neither this nor that haha. Although moving forward, especially after reading some comments, we'd make them proper game mechanics and easily intelligible.
@lepletier thanks!
@madness yes the VO should be clearer, at least that seems to be clear now haha. Thanks!
@cdmaniac Thank you! (for the feedback and the puns 😂)
@antsa the goal of the game for now at least was to try to fix the 'mothership'. I guess our spin on the theme was that the sonar activates every 10s, showing you where the materials and enemies are. Ah yes, the VOs seems to be an issue that people can't understand it, thanks for pointing that out as well. Cheers!
@nija463 thanks!
Wow! This was really great, I think this is my favourite take on the theme so far. It's really fun, I love how forgiving it is with mistakes, making the flow of the game very pleasant. Obviously it would be great to have more levels, but for a game jam this is expected. I loved the look of the bots as well. Congrats, really well done! :clap:
Congrats on your entry, it looks great, the reminds me of my childhood days haha
That was a lot of fun! Quite hard tho! I loved the way the environment changes throughout the game. A couple of times I got hit by the skeletons and ended up outside of the arena with no way back. Also I felt that perhaps it would be nice if the radius of the shop items was a bit larger. A couple of times I jumped towards the shop but had to wait until I land on the circles in order to buy, at late game I felt this made it really hard to buy stuff, as the skeletons would catch up on me before I land. But maybe that's the way you wanted it! Anyway, very well done, congrats!
hahaha well that was fun. I was trying to go for 'the thinker'thinker.jpg
This was really really good! Probably the most time I spent playing a game in this LDJ. Similarly to what other have said, it was a lot of fun, however even though the 10s timer makes the game more intense (and links it to the theme of course), it feels a little too short. I think seeing the upcoming parts might help with that? Also perhaps the timer for the game is not really necessary as there is already a loosing condition. In my second playthrough, I felt like finally I was gaining on the rats and perhaps might win, but then the timer ran out. :( I feel like this a great idea for a game and you should expand on it, maybe without the 10s timer though haha. Great visuals too! Anyway, this is a really good entry imo, congrats!
Loved the idea, look and feel of this. I particularly like the minimalistic aesthetics. Unfortunately I got a bit too disorientated and could only find one of the batteries in my first playthrough, but I'll give it another go later. This fits the theme really well too, however I think perhaps it'd be cool if there was something more to do after the light go down, because I mostly found myself playing only after the room lights up and waiting when it gets dark. Overall - great work!
As I see others have as well, I spent quite a while on this one lol. Really clever idea and very addictive gameplay, I think you tapped into some sort of primal instinct, cause I it really got me quite hooked :laughing: Amazing work, well done!
I loved the sound, visuals and general feel of the game. Nice tutorial intro too. However, as others have mentioned, I agree that perhaps it would be nice to have some sort of indicator how much ammo you have left and a clearer indication when the eye is about to attack. Also, imho, it would be nice to have some more health, so that one hit couldn't kill you instantly. I really think you should expand on this tho! Overall, congrats, very nice entry!
Hah, that was great, loved the use of the theme and overall it was really funny. It was more fun the more I played it as well, although I gotta say I struggled with some of them like the tentacle one, as I wasn't sure what I was doing wrong. But I guess I'd figure it out with more playthroughs. Awesome stuff
That was brilliant and so well polished, wowzers! You managed to make a proper tutorial, level progression, balancing and even a well done boss fight, well done, especially for a jam! The game is a lot of fun, looks and feels great. Nice!
I got 284s! I really liked the way it progressively got harder as time went on, I thought it's quite well balanced. The use of theme was good too, although that's what caused me to die in the end - didn't get heals for quite a long time haha. But that's not really a critique, I thought the chance mechanic was good. Nice work.
Looks and feels great, very nice polish. I loved that you managed to include a gradual tutorial, however by level 6 I did get a bit lost and only managed to finish the game after reading the comments. Overall great stuff!
