Very nice game! Our team had a somewhat similar idea for a game with inventory management akin to yours, but lootsalot is so well executed I can well imagine myself coming back to it. I find the game difficult, which contributes to its replayability.
First off, amazing graphics and character variety! This is one of the most complex games we tried so far and even though there's a bit of a learning curve, it's such an enjoyable experience. Keep up the good work!

Very good all around game. It was a bit hard to pick things up though. Also most of the time I don't run out of space. Music fits in with the game nicely and most people just use unity so this was interesting

Graphics are cool and the concept pretty unique. I like it.

Really interesting game. We all have to deal with that pesky inventory management which we hate but love at the same time. I like the execution and gameplay. I think it's pointless mentioning the graphics since it's obviously amazing ;)
Cool game, I love the Resident Evil 4 style inventory, so I had a lot of fun. The game is kind of hard with the mouse but I then played it with my Cintiq and it became too easy. The game looks great for a tablet, it needs a bit of difficulty tuning but the mecanics are solid! The graphics are pretty too :) My only gripe is that sometimes it wasn't very clear where the character really was to drop the item on him. Maybe the merchant store could be a real pause so that the player can take his breath, it becomes a bit too frantic otherwise. Great job !

@kokonaught Thanks a lot for the comment! We didn't even consider tablets, but that's super interesting! Sadly, the title screen and introduction to the game didnt make it into the final build by about 10 minutes, but we were planning on giving the player at least a small pause before throwing him into the fray.
The franticness was intended as it was too easy at first and the difficulty was supposed to be because of the increasing speed; but the balance ended up a bit all over the place.
I really love the art style! The game is pretty hard though, I couldn't seem to get much further than the first shop.

Very nice game and good game concept! I also love the graphics. But for me there should be some sort of list with all of the items and their use, because when I was playing I had to guess most of the items use (like this blue ball, which I still don't know what's that) and also a bit slower gameplay would be lovely. Anyway good job!

@corqi Originally the tooltip was supposed to display a small flavor text about the use of the item, but our planning was a bit weak so we ended up having to scrap it. The crystal ball is just like the scroll and the wand a magic weapon; it's stronger than the wand and weaker than the scroll. Thanks for playing and the CC!
Appreciate the layout of the UI, makes for an interesting game. Felt like the content could be paced a bit better for the player to get used to it, but otherwise enjoyable!
Very well done guys! Definitely think this has a lot of potential and should be developed to the end. The feel of the game is great, graphics are awesome, music fits perfectly. I agree with what some of the peeps in the comments above mentioned - would be nice to catch a break in the merchant store for a sec, maybe not a complete pause, but at least for a bit longer (obviously if the player does not want to wait, he or she shouldn't be forced to!)
It's tricky to understand which weapon fits which enemy, I was sort of guessing as well, but I'm sure you guys could figure this one out with some brainstorming. Also just an idea to add something like a suit of armour with a separate health bar, or possibly something like 3 lives to the player? As much as I've played, I didn't get a lot of potions and most of the time there wasn't much I could do to survive. (or maybe I missed something)
Anyway, amazing job, especially as it was done so quickly! Would love to see a full version, cheers!
This is a fun game, though it does get quite hectic quickly! I definitely agree with the idea that the shop should be a real pause, it gets frustrating when you are about to buy something and you are already moving on! I liked how the enemies had unique ways of attacking you, that was a nice touch. I quite liked this game, this is the type of thing that I would play constantly on my phone if more things were added!
Also, would you mind uploading the source code? As a programmer, I'm curious as to how you programmed some of the mechanics!

@maxthecat I think the notion of a paused shop is interesting and could be tried; Initially the idea was that nothing is paused though. I agree that the overall gamespeed is too high though; maybe the shop wouldnt be such a problem if it the whole pace was better. ( Initially I planned a stopwatch item that would pause time for 5 or more seconds, too bad it didn't make it in. )
I've gotten the mobile thing from multiple people now; who knows, just maybe we'll see where this could go!
I'll ask my bud to upload the code or get in contact with you for the code of some mechanics for sure though!

@mackandrius @maxthecat
I linked the Source Code and another version of LootsALot - which is way more polished than the Ludum Dare version - to the download section so feel free to use it!
Awesome concept and execution. Some bits was confusing not really explained so you had some trail and error but that is part of the fun. The graphics is amazing. One small quality of life things I would maybe add is the ability to click the resource items that only takes one space. I thought that is was a bit too much drag and drop when suddenly there are 5-10 small items on the ground. I understand why you wouldn't want to do that because that would ruin some of the inventory management part.
Also I managed to cause this when I pressed the fullscreen (?) button :sweat_smile: 2018-08-17_19-50-13.png

@sh1rogane yikes I will look on that one. But thanks!
@sn4pi
Thanks for the source code! I never would have thought to program the game how you did, but it works so much better!
i like the concept of this game - i kept dying i could not figure out how to equip items - still - was fun
@quill18 had a very similar idea, obviously one day less meant his art is a bit less polished!

Loved the style and music , was a fun game
Very interesting idea, I liked the graphics and the music also but I found it rather confusing to play. The help menu helped explaining but still some things were unclear, also I was a bit annoyed by dragging an dropping maybe just clicking to select and to drop would be easier. With a tutorial this would make for a great game good job.
Lovely game! Some really tasty looking pixels. The gameplay was pretty solid too. Thanks for sharing your game with my stream awhile back. Your game was played around 6:33 into this vod: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/297885983
This game is a bit tough but amazing at the same time especially art, good job man.
