LD39 — Running out of Power

Inefficient Plasma Weapon by schizoid2k 2017-08-02T14:04:31Z

I was a bit confused at first because I didn't know what was safe to pick up and what wasn't. Maybe a little icon of what it looks like next to the text on the introduction page would've made things clearer. Movement is a little tricky, I feel like I would like the ship to rotate a little faster so I can react to the enemies more. I also couldn't quite figure out how to use my shield. Overall, cool game! Nice work

Crazy Squirrels by IgorsGames 2017-08-01T14:53:02Z

Cool concept! I think power drains way too fast since it's hard to manoeuvre past the fast moving asteroids. I enjoyed discovering the "advanced" strategy of attracting asteroids into each other. Unfortunately, I couldn't beat it!

Tiny Explorer by rijnswand 2017-08-01T15:41:35Z

I managed to get to the 2nd charging station before also falling into a hole! I really enjoy this kind of relaxing, lonely ambience though. I didn't have too much of a problem going straight but at times, the rover felt a bit slippery and not having enough traction. Maybe also make it a little bit faster? Overall, fun game. Good execution. Sound design was on point.

Batterycorp by Aurel300 2017-08-05T12:01:40Z

This was really fun! The puzzles were clever and the game was pretty polished. Very impressive!

Neuropower by klianc09 2017-08-05T12:45:33Z

I really like this game! The splitting is very satisfying and the graphics are visually interesting. I think I found the unlimited energy source but then every neuron started exploding in sequence which was slightly confusing. Overall, really cool. Nice entry!

The Trash Bin That Could by mathijs750 2017-08-05T12:12:01Z

Fun game! The ending sequence was funny but it wasn't very clear that that was the end. The robot moving sound was perfect. Nicely done!

Superbman by coomzy 2017-08-03T23:26:28Z

Love the name! This game was really fun and I played 59 attempts before admitting that I can't do it. The two jumps feel great and the differences between them are just right. Minor suggestion is that because I am long-jumping more than high-jumping I would've preferred if the controls are reversed so that I press LMB more. The jumping animation was pretty smooth! Would also work as a mobile game.

Spincharge by DMajor 2017-08-05T11:44:50Z

Fun game! It was a little easy as you could just stand on the charge point and the other one would run out eventually. Sometimes it glitched out and I was jumping around uncontrollably. The impact sound was very satisfying. Cool entry!

Robo Power by jahndis 2017-08-05T13:26:02Z

Really cool game! The puzzles are very well designed and the mechanics are introduced perfectly. Had a lot of fun playing this one. Also enjoyed the music. Nice work!

Runner Out Of Power by Mathiouza 2017-08-01T15:01:24Z

Hey, I tried running you game but nothing happens when I run the .exe :(

Keep 'Em Alive! by mrerdalural 2017-08-05T11:14:20Z

Fun game! Managed to save 4 of 6 patients. The high heels audio was a nice touch and the obituaries were funny to read. Nice work!

Infinitree by Quaternius 2017-08-02T16:52:04Z

Really cool game! The way the tree bends and grows new branches is very satisfying to watch. I did find it a little easy though (I got to 300m) and it took some effort for me to actually lose all my power and lose when I wanted to end it. I agree with @amastryukov above that I wasn't really getting a jungle vibe as the music suggested, but the tree sounds were on point.

End of the line by dorkandy 2017-08-02T11:33:26Z

Fun game! I enjoyed the dialogue and tough choices. Wish it was a little longer.

POWERCUT, Inc. by zoglu 2017-08-05T13:03:15Z

Very fun! The last level was pretty tricky and took several attempts to beat. Got stuck on turbo mode level 4 though. Everything about this game works really well. Excellent entry!

Stray Impulse by tyranosaw 2017-08-05T10:04:12Z

This is great! Movement feels really good. Love that initial boost when you start thrusting - it adds a lot to the gameplay. Sound-wise it felt a little quiet when just flying around, maybe a low hum would've worked well. Also sometimes it felt like I was very unlucky and a rocket would come from the direction I was already going, making it near impossible for me to avoid it. Some kind of offscreen arrow indication, or maybe even some spawning logic could work to solve this. Overall, very nice work. I played this a lot.

PowrConnectr by JOrbits 2017-08-01T16:00:35Z

Very nicely designed puzzles! It was easy learning the mechanics through the first few levels but at some point I feel they were out of order? I got the colored tiles in a complex puzzle before getting the "tutorial" one with the 2 green straight tiles that rotate together.

Extraction by roguenoodle 2017-08-03T21:33:44Z

Very cool game! The visuals and sound are awesome. It took a couple of deaths to realise that the enemy explosions kill you and that you didn't lose as soon as they got a turret. Was still fun to frantically power on and off the turrets. Nice one!

Power Rush by Mik3 2017-08-05T09:51:51Z

Cool concept! The graphics were nice. It was a bit hard to tell what I had to mine, maybe make them stand out more? Also when I did figure it out, it was very tricky to line the gun up so that it would actually mine it. Movement was also a little bit slippery, making it even harder to line up the gun. For the intro, it's a bit overwhelming to have so much text pop up as the first thing in the game. Find a way to present the needed information as concise as possible. Overall nice entry!

Bear and Bee by ruerob-hyky 2017-08-05T11:38:38Z

Fun game! Graphics and animation was cute. It would be nice if there was a display about how high up the tree you climbed. Overall, cool entry!

Terminal Attraction by Aumbra 2017-08-01T13:16:00Z

Battery puns and overly suggestive battery insertion videos - this was great! I really enjoyed this, good job guys! I'll never insert a battery the same way again.

Icebroken by merzlot 2017-08-01T14:38:14Z

¬Cool¬ game! The art is really nice and the ice breaking effect looks really good. It is very hard though, I don't think I managed to get it past halfway to safety before my reactor runs out. I didn't see a point in powering the cabin lights, they don't need to sleep do they? Overall, fun game!

PowerCubeStationBox™ by NueboMundo 2017-08-05T09:11:45Z

This game is fantastic! Well polished and everything feels good to do. The sounds are on point and the platforming is just right. Such a great concept and the ending is pretty funny! Awesome job guys!

Battery Life by justinooncx 2017-08-01T22:37:22Z

Great concept and execution! The level design is also adds a lot to the game. There's something very funny about focusing hard in order to beat a section and having your screen and audio cut out. Really enjoyed that! I managed to get to the battery at the end but could not make the way back. Admittedly I forgot completely about the shield ability. I feel like the battery charging minigame where you chase the green thing doesn't add too much to the game since it's impossible to do both at the same time anyway and you are just waiting for it to fill. Maybe increase the battery charge rate? Fun game!

Hard Reset by eott 2017-08-01T12:23:49Z

Hey, cool game! Was a bit tricky to understand at first but I managed to get it. I played several games but did not manage to beat it. Closest I got to building the Q-Pinch was 7e7 AM, 1e7 SM- it's pretty hard, you have to be fast.

It may be possible to simplify it a little by having only 1 circle each for SM and AM, so you don't need to remember which is the input and the output. Also it was a little annoying to not be able to cancel a flow line without placing it if I changed my mind.

Overall I enjoyed it :)

Engines & Earl Grey by Temmy 2017-08-05T10:34:36Z

Hey, this was great! The music is really catchy and the art is beautiful. I would've liked a little indication of how much power the ship still needed though. Lots of fun if a bit easy - I beat it on my first go. Great entry!

Power Grid Manager by cudabear 2017-08-02T13:54:23Z

Pressing the keys was very satisfying and them breaking was funny. I also had a couple keys that gave me some problems, like ';' and '/' since they would do things in the browser instead of passing it through to the game. Maybe best to avoid those in the future. I only managed 2000 points :( Overall, fun game!

MONOLITH by Vodzik 2017-08-05T13:35:50Z

Cool game! Really like the animation of the robot. The movement sound got very repetitive though and it was difficult to tell which way to go. Like the mechanic of having to drain your enemies. Good entry!

Royalty by mdacoffee 2017-08-01T13:44:51Z

Interesting concept! I had a hard time keeping track of the state of my kingdom since only one tab was ever open at once. It would've have been nice to have an always-open resource tab or something to fill more of the screen. The tooltips were useful but there is a lack of player direction at the beginning, why do I need doctors and teachers? Would be cool to see this fleshed out a little more!

THIRST by Togis 2017-08-01T14:18:54Z

Fun game. Very polished in terms of graphics and gameplay! Forcing exploration through random tiles is a really cool idea. Though when I die, I feel it's more a case of bad random chance than my own mistakes in exploration. Maybe it would be nice to be able to rotate a tile by spending some water too. Also really cool that you guys made it mod-able.

-simov by BSO 2017-08-01T12:54:01Z

Interesting game! It has a really weird vibe. The character design is cool! I also really like the shooting effect.

It was a bit confusing that I had to go left at the very beginning. Didn't manage to finish but I got to the disco ball and then promptly fell down with around 7000 score.

Potential Energy by Carsen D. 2017-08-02T09:12:09Z

This was awesome! I really like the double use of the theme. The lighting was minimal but effective, the platforming was challenging but not frustrating and the story was short but sweet. I really enjoyed this game, nice work!

Plugzzz by mamoniem 2017-08-05T10:53:59Z

Yesss! Another game with physics plugs! Great minds think alike! There was a little bit of an issue with the order I connected the bots in otherwise they would not power up but overall really cool game! The physics was a bit choppy on my crappy laptop but still managed to finish it. Nice work!

Outside by Tamfoolery 2017-08-02T11:02:58Z

Fantastic execution! I see another dev believing in the power of the primitive! Only I went the much more vibrant route :) Loved the level and sound design. Very Inside-y feel. Nice work!

Unleaded: The Story of a Van by Lino 2017-08-02T09:00:46Z

I really enjoyed the vibe of just driving the road. The music fit really well, the car handled really nicely and the camera movement was excellent. A minor nitpick was that fuel seemed to be a simple timer and not actually related to how fast you were going. When I ran out, the game over pop-up came immediately. I was expecting to be able to coast for a bit and hit a green square, so that was a bit jarring. A little more polish in terms of some particles and engine sound effects would really make this more engaging. That being said, I still drove for 15+ km. Nice work!

Indiana Stones by Akshay Katare 2017-08-02T15:59:19Z

The character models and animations are really great! Maybe look into some animation blending of the lower body so that it animates in the direction that you move. I don't think the health draining is very necessary because the fire already depletes and you get hit by skeletons anyway. Or maybe give the option to turn on/off the torch? The very first time I played I went down and was very confused since the camera was clipping through the walls and I could see pickups but couldn't reach them. All in all, cool game. Nice work!

Deep by tenshi42 2017-08-05T10:45:46Z

Cool game! It was a bit confusing but the mood of the game is nicely constructed. I did not figure out how to turn the ship and it's a bit hard to realise what you had to do. Really like the sonar effect and always felt like something was going to get me. Nice job!

Ultimate by OnlySimple 2017-08-02T09:23:22Z

Your game got flagged by my AVG Antivirus :( Windows build.

D34TH by Falk Bruskeland 2017-08-01T12:41:54Z

Hahaha, those cheeky rockets! I had fun playing it :D Didn't manage to beat it though. Really like the sounds and level design.

Escape Velocity by Bonelazy 2017-08-05T09:22:31Z

This was fun! I was worried the movement would be too tricky due to the thrusters being too strong but they're perfect. Ideally, I would've inverted the pitch controls but that comes down to personal preference. It was a bit hard to find the lights, maybe a series of flashing lights indicating towards the ones you needed to go to would've helped (like airport runway lights). The thrusters sounded great but I feel some eery ambient music would've strengthened the feeling of helplessness. Cool game!

Blackout by Kichex 2017-08-01T13:59:33Z

I liked the gradual increase of responsibilities to teach what you're supposed to be doing before you are overwhelmed by having to fix/fill everything. I was a little confused about which area of the ship needed fixing before I realised that the red light was showing what was broken. Didn't manage to win, but had fun playing!

Lightning racer by thetatautau 2017-08-05T10:16:57Z

Cool game! The music fit really well and the gameplay was interesting. My only issue is that you seem to need to be going fast in order to successfully hit the ramps, which kind of defeats the purpose of using the ramps to recharge. I also would've liked to rotate around a little bit faster since those green walls seemed pretty random whether I would be able to pass through it or not. The lightning sound was also too loud I think. Overall, fun game! My best was 8684

Trouble in Paradise by mariandev96 2017-08-05T10:26:05Z

Cool entry! Managed to save them on my 2nd try, but they were very angry. It seems you can get pretty far by only keeping the bedroom and kitchen powered and sometimes power the oxygen, food storage and play rooms. Really like that the tutorial hints kept changing at the bottom so you can learn as you play. Nice work!

Floppyboy by Dariusa 2017-08-05T09:00:50Z

This was lots of fun! Well written and funny! The art and sound were also really cool. Story was weird but I enjoyed it. Nice work guys! Floppyboy for president!

The Truth by Jolix 2017-08-02T11:07:40Z

Haha! The secret is out! I could probably use a few of those guinea pigs in my game

Think before you jump by Delalandii 2017-08-02T13:48:19Z

Nice game! Jumping feels good and the sound effects fit. I also really like the jumping animation. I forgot I could run and thought everyone was joking that it was too easy - then I remembered and completed it!

Scale of Life by ilya_kozlov 2017-08-02T09:31:04Z

Such a colourful game! Just wish it was infinite and not limited to 12 rings. The music was pretty funky too~

Lost Light by DrewG8 2017-08-01T22:05:52Z

Cool game! I liked how you used the same system as the tutorial for uncovering lore - it's a very natural transition. It was a bit hard to tell which plants were the orange ones, maybe the room was already too dark. I got to the end having only activated 1 orb and didn't feel like backtracking all the way back. Perhaps smaller doors that would only open with 1 orb or 2 orbs activated on the way to the end door would help guide the player the right way and prevent too much backtracking.

The Last Question by Terribly Awesome Games 2017-08-03T23:54:30Z

Nice adaptation! The music fits really well. It was sometimes a bit jarring when one faded out and the other one just cut in. Fading in the next track would've worked really well. Nice work!

Lightbringer by Hugo Damiao 2017-08-01T23:07:41Z

Such a cool visual style! Really liked the particle wings and trails. The character was also really well done. When flying, it seemed that the character would sometimes stick to walls/corners. Also going up ramps without jumping seems to be a bit slow for a character that hovers. When I fell off the level, the orbs did not reset, making it hard to complete it. I had to reset it manually every time I died. The music was a bit repetitive and I don't think it matched the visuals very well. Overall nice game, I had fun!

Owld by TeddyDD 2017-08-05T12:30:33Z

Interesting concept! My only issue was that it seemed almost random which items I would pick up and put into the furnace since they fall so fast and I am pretty slow. The owl is well drawn. Nicely done!

Deliverer by bunrun11 2017-08-04T00:21:00Z

There is potential here but as it is now it's too difficult! Only managed 1. I think the issue is that the cubes switch too quickly, by the time you get to it, it explodes and you need to go somewhere else. I think either increasing the cube time or tweaking the energy loss could make this game more engaging. Nice job!

Funkotron 5k by Jannes Nagel 2017-08-02T16:31:16Z

:D This game is amazing! So funny that the funkotron destroys more of the city than the monster. The animations were top and the funkotron was pretty funky~ I agree with the others here that it was a bit easy, maybe a little funk decrease when you miss a beat would make it slightly more challenging. Also the funk track should be a little bit louder. Awesome job guys!

Scrap Hunt by snek 2017-08-02T11:52:22Z

Love the visuals, sound design and robot animations! The way the rockets fly out is also very satisfying but I had the problem of not being able to hit the little green dudes if they got too close and they would just slowly kill me. An indicator of how much scrap you need to collect to win would also be useful. Nice work!

Sleepy Orphan Simulator by Barney Cumming 2017-08-02T09:46:54Z

I've never had so much fun *in an orphanage*! Controls were surprisingly easy to grasp and the jelly physics were really nicely executed. Jumping sometimes got stuck on platform corners causing me to lose too much energy but otherwise fun game!

AEOS by Yetman 2017-08-01T21:48:51Z

I really enjoyed the visuals and the colours used. I agree with the others that some soft ambient music would've made travelling around much more atmospheric. The water effect is also pretty cool

Bright Plateau by fmdkdd 2017-08-05T13:43:50Z

Excellent entry! Very relaxing music and cool graphics! Got stuck on the level with the day/night and battery. Cool puzzles and concept! Wasn't sure what the battery did at first but I think it powers the tiles next to it if it itself is powered? Still not too sure. Good work!

OnFuelDrain() by reizoukin 2017-08-01T13:35:38Z

Interesting mechanic! I didn't understand exactly how to move around. It seemed that turning the ship also speeds it up somehow? Because of that, I didn't really run out of fuel as I was getting shot at a lot. The music was good and fit quite well, nicely done! :)

There's No Place Like Home by Remzo 2017-08-01T14:43:16Z

Thanks for playing, everyone! Did you all actually manage to escape?

There's No Place Like Home by Remzo 2017-08-01T16:06:07Z

Thanks for playing and the detailed feedback @pouleyketchoupp! The TV set is a little bit of a joke since I only placed it there to be smacked by an asteroid. You should not be watching TV when trying to escape! If I had more time I would activate its socket and display something on the screen (maybe static) but at the moment it can't be interacted with.

There's No Place Like Home by Remzo 2017-08-02T08:38:57Z

Thanks for playing and all the feedback!

@angela-he: I think there was a problem with the .zip file. I think I have fixed it now. Please try again. @arthur-iung: Your purpose is to escape! Stay alive while you fully power your ship.

There's No Place Like Home by Remzo 2017-08-04T21:43:35Z

@terrible-awesome-games: Thanks! I can't model, so I had to make do with what I had!

@pavel-kouril: It's a simple line renderer that I manipulate the positions of manually using [Hooke's Law](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hooke%27s_law) to connect each position with the positions next to it as if connected by 2 springs (except for the end points). Glad you enjoyed it!

S.C.I.A.C.E. by MEOWStudios 2017-08-02T17:11:44Z

I really enjoyed flying around. I didn't manage to destroy the mothership though. At some point it was hard to distinguish which targets were vitals and which were defenses. Maybe a different target colour? All in all, cool submission!

Li'l Icarus by PouleyKetchoupp 2017-08-02T12:17:02Z

This was pretty funny :D The arm movements of the character, however silly, added quite a lot of humour. In addition to that, maybe a small rotation to the character based on the direction they are moving can add a little bit of juice to the already responsive movement. Besides always glancing at the height meter, there is no real way to tell how fast you are going. One way to represent speed is by having wind particles move up the screen depending on how fast you are falling. Faster particles means you are falling fast, and slow means slow. Overall, pretty funny concept. I enjoyed it!

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Potion Pong by HDtv 2017-12-05T18:10:06Z

I like the concept and the spells are pretty cool. Nicely done on making a multiplayer game too!

Gold Taxi by Code Dream 2017-12-05T17:48:27Z

Nice game! Really like the art style. It was a little hard to figure out where the base is to drop off the gold but I managed to find it just before time ran out! Only 5 bars though :)

Politically Correct Hunting by tschery 2017-12-05T19:26:26Z

Reminds me of my childhood!

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

SPÅRVAGN by Dustyroom 2020-10-08T11:46:48Z

Very cool! The visuals are totally on point, nice one! The gameplay is simple and relaxing but at the same time you have to stay focused, it's a good balance. One thing I realised that made it a bit easy was that once all the passengers on one line are gone, I could just stop all the trains on that track and just wait for the other one to finish. Would be good to try and think of a way to avoid that. Maybe each train can only be stopped for some time before it HAS TO move - like a bar that recharges whenever it is moving?

oddpum by dietzribi 2020-10-06T11:29:24Z

Awesome job! Was a lot of fun trying to optimise each loop to get the most out of them. The rewind and fast forward options are very very very welcome - I'm glad you included those! There were a few times where I wanted to rewind and correct the previous loop after realising something or wanting to correct a timing. The level design was also clever and interesting.

Loop Invader by Ale 2020-10-05T21:15:00Z

Very cool concept and nicely executed! As others have said, it's a bit tricky to understand but once you have it it's good fun. Grat job!

Loopy Particle Simulator by nusan 2020-10-06T08:38:29Z

Hey, this is such a cool idea! Nicely done! The art is simple but everything is well communicated. I can totally see this becoming a full game.

Pyramid Loop by joewan 2020-10-05T16:50:03Z

Nice one, short and sweet! Pretty simple but your execution is solid.

Only issue I found was that sometimes I dropped an arrow into the slot but it didn't stick even though it was highlighted.

Hamster Simulator by ruthiepee 2020-10-05T15:58:57Z

Cute game! The art and audio are perfect. I'm also so happy that what I thought would happen when I kept running on the wheel actually did.

For some reason I could only interact with the wheel though, no matter where I clicked. Maybe something strange is up with my browser if nobody else had the same issue.

loops by irwatts 2020-10-05T17:03:53Z

This was really funny, nice one! Visually it's also great and the dynamic milk sim wasn't unappreciated.

Short and sweet, happiness achieved!

Ribbon by 100th_Coin 2020-10-08T19:12:31Z

Very cool! Great execution on such an original idea, well done! I just wish it was longer

Emile's Journey by qui 2020-10-05T17:49:43Z

Well done guys! This is really nice and a solid submission! The visuals are on point and the music totally fits. Good job!

Hoop Knight by lectvs 2020-10-06T08:11:52Z

Very cool!Everything about this was so solid, nice work!

Hyperloop hell by Aterlamia 2020-10-05T20:41:12Z

Nice entry! The music is great, really dig it. Also very grateful for the fast walk. I got stuck and didn't know what to do any more though after I told Diane about the bomb, tried to go through the doors on both sides.

One Can Do! by EvoGenGames 2020-10-05T20:53:52Z

Nice one! Good message. If anything, I would've liked a way to restart without having to refresh the page :)

Loopy Boy by rex64 2020-10-05T21:29:34Z

This game is hard! It was a bit tricky to gauge how high/far the jump is. Also did not realise at first that you could double jump. Was cool to be able to switch up the moves in realtime to try and have more control. Cool submission!

Roundabout Way by Quandtm 2020-10-07T19:39:21Z

This was a lot of fun! Nice idea guys, a little bit of a clever twist on the classic Frogger! The ability to go faster and slower really makes it. The music was very fitting but I was missing a crash sound effect when you failed. Good job!

Track Day by Remzo 2020-10-04T21:18:21Z

I can't verify the Mac and Linux builds so please let me know if it isn't working.

Track Day by Remzo 2020-10-05T11:20:33Z

@fabdynamic Ah, thanks a lot for your feedback and the tips for getting it running on Mac, I really appreciate it. In your screenshot it looks like there are no skidmarks, was that from the Mac build? It's a shame if so, that's definitely my favorite feature! Glad you enjoyed it!

@irwatts Thank you! I agree, reversing is for losers!

Track Day by Remzo 2020-10-05T12:27:24Z

Thanks @tomeks! 1:16 is a very respectable time! :D

The AI is made by having them naively travel to the next waypoint. There are 8 waypoints around the track and "gates" at the waypoints that both the AI and player need to through to complete a GOOD LAP. You can notice when the AI suddenly goes the wrong way around the track, it's because they went past a waypoint but missed the gate, so their target waypoint is not updated to the next one.

The gates are also there for the player. If the player crosses the line but not all the gates were crossed, it is an INVALID LAP.

Track Day by Remzo 2020-10-05T12:29:57Z

Haha, thanks a lot @ausstein! 50s!!! You are the current record holder! Glad you enjoy it!

Theoretically, I would think the absolute quickest it can be done is around 45s-47s or so.

Thanks @fabdynamic but no worries. I wouldn't know what it could be seeing as it should literally be identical unless maybe the specific (very simple) skid shader wasn't included during the build for some reason. First place I would start would be to check if it runs with skids in the editor on a Mac.

Track Day by Remzo 2020-10-05T17:22:35Z

Friend of mine just managed 44 seconds! :open_mouth: Crazyyyyy. This is now the time to beat. I can't manage < 50s!

@ausstein You've been dethroned! He also thinks a sub 40s would be possible though.

Wow, thanks so much @fabdynamic! I've made a new build for Mac with the updated setting and uploaded as v1.01, hopefully it works! I also really appreciate your kind words about the Unity Project. It could definitely be better to me (it's a jam after all!) but I'm glad you find it helpful!

Track Day by Remzo 2020-10-05T20:25:01Z

@henrik-ganard Thanks! Sometimes it's easier to even help the other cars to get out of the game! ;)

@beavergames Thanks for playing! *Only* 13 INFRACTIONS is actually quite good!

@ruthiepee I know right? It took me almost all weekend to get decent and now I can't even come close. Getting off screen is a little annoying, yeah. There's a disqualification zone if you go too far but sometimes you can just guess the direction and make it back. Thanks for playing and reviewing!

Track Day by Remzo 2020-10-05T20:32:45Z

@ausstein yeah, you need to get really lucky with the other cars. I can't even improve on my 53s

As for the invalid laps, there are 8 invisible gates placed around the track that are a bit smaller in width than the track itself. If you cross the line without having gone through all 8 in order, it is marked invalid and started over. I think there's definitely a gate on the left side of the track that's just a bit too narrow and easy to miss if you ride down the edge. Ah well

Track Day by Remzo 2020-10-07T08:09:43Z

@gironimo4 Thanks! Maybe they also get an infraction, who knows?

@ale Glad you liked it! Don't worry, it seems I'm not too good at it either... Not the best at my own game any more!

@sininenblue Thanks! Happy you still enjoyed it!

@qui Under 1 min is a real challenge, haha. Did you manage it?

@kurt-roembke Thanks! The timer is one of my favourite parts for sure. Music would've been great but I struggled so much with just the small amount of SFX that are already in. Totally agree though!

@eldogg Thank you! The chaos is definitely part of the fun! But it's also really annoying if you try to go for the best times haha

Track Day by Remzo 2020-10-07T19:43:28Z

@lakrits Thanks for playing! You must have been very (un)lucky.

There's a little bit of variation in how much impact it takes to take them out so each attempt is different. When trying to go for the fastest time you actually want them to get out of the way as soon as possible.

Track Day by Remzo 2020-10-08T19:37:02Z

@dunderroffe Thanks for playing! You can restart any time with 'R' but the prompt for it comes up after the game "ends".

Track Day by Remzo 2020-10-08T20:49:10Z

@shaolin-dave Glad you enjoy it, thanks for the kind words! You probably encountered it but there is a disqualification zone if you go too far from the track - maybe it's a bit too far out. Good suggestions about the arrow, I think something simple like that would definitely help.

@doot Thanks! Yeah, sounds is definitely an area I lack expertise in so it's really the bare minimum here (maybe even less than that!). 0:50 is a very good run! Nice one!

@mackandrius Thanks for playing! I really struggled with the sound for sure. Maybe next time I will just record the sounds I need by performing it myself with my mouth.

Save Her by Lestat 2020-10-05T16:22:02Z

Nice submission! I think the time limit is a little bit too tight as it was a bit frustrating to me to barely make it even though I knew what to do in the 2nd loop. Art is simple but it works for the mood.

TimeSplitters 4 by BlueCalx 2020-10-09T15:21:27Z

This was very cool! Super well designed puzzles - very hard, but fair once you understand the controls and rules. As mentioned a tutorial would be excellent, one thing that took me a while to understand was that I was losing a move *per battery* with each break. Would've been nice to have a "go back one tick" or restart loop button though. Solid entry!

Hang on, Bill! by zanzavar 2020-10-08T11:10:57Z

Nice one! Was a lot of fun to figure out the pieces and put it together. A good amount of clickables too. Solid entry!

Under The Moon by Albuquerque 2020-10-07T07:56:55Z

As others have said, the moon is great! Very Majora's Mask. Also the character looks a bit like Spelunky. Cool game! Managed to complete it in my first attempt though the level design is also very loopy. Nice one!

Caterpiloop by Marcus Otterstrom 2020-10-08T13:29:12Z

Graphics and audio work well together to make for a charming game! I only wish the restarting was a little bit quicker since the player is just sitting there and waiting for a few seconds and it's not interesting in that moment. Solid jam game!

while(true) by TomekS 2020-10-05T19:22:10Z

Great game! Got to level 16 on hard before stopping. The sounds were very fitting and the visuals were solid. It began to get a little repetitive towards the end, was hoping for some obstacles that you would need some slightly different commands to pass. Overall great submission!

Suburban Bus MAYHEM by joonamo 2020-10-05T16:29:18Z

Thank you. Let's go. Haha, big fan of the deadpan robot voices! Cool game! It's like a single car Mini Metro. I wish the brakes of the bus were a little bit stronger though, I was always going past the stops.

My score was 2240! No idea if that's good :)

Populatio by FabDynamic 2020-10-05T17:14:14Z

Nice one! Works very well as a single button game.

Sometimes though, it didn't seem like the relative force of gravity matched the size of the planets. I also feel that maybe all the gravity could be a bit stronger overall since the rocket is quite powerful.

Time Wizards by Sininenblue 2020-10-05T16:43:27Z

Final time: 9:36! This is a really solid game, nice one! The difficulty ramps up quite significantly but definitely in a good way! The only thing that was mildly annoying was that the "ceiling" that the 2nd archer is on is a bit too low and I clipped it many times trying to jump down from the wall. Great submission!

Endless Night by arkinrev 2020-10-09T07:43:04Z

Nice one! I like the balance in needing more enemies to harvest more resources, and having the player make the choice to make it more difficult for themselves. It was still a little easy for me though. More varied enemies or even a secondary objective scattered around the graveyard would do a lot to keep it interesting.

Magical Marissas Troubles with Time by TheseusInABottle 2020-10-07T07:38:03Z

I struggled to barely make the audio of my game and ended up without music - this is a much better way to do it! Nice one! The first piece seemed placed a little too high up though, I had to wait a few seconds under it before it rotated low enough for me to get it.

WhileLoops by Ausstein 2020-10-05T17:38:50Z

Oh my, who even is this programmer?! Really great execution! The humour was also on point.

I thought the symbol between the conditions was an OR at first but otherwise no issues.

WhileLoops by Ausstein 2020-10-05T20:01:48Z

@ausstein Ha, of course :P I must've flipped the conditions in my head as to what I had to accomplish to break the loop and got confused.

The Hand That Feeds by neonjeff 2020-10-05T19:33:03Z

Audio is the best part of this game by far! Good job on this one! Only real issue is that I think the levels are too long. I found the easiest way to play though is to just grab them and wait for the correct need to come up.

Paper Planes by SamDemaine 2020-10-08T21:01:48Z

Nice game! Very polished and well-scoped for a jam game. I also like how elegant the design is with the enemy ships living longer and longer to make it more difficult over time. The trail is also a nice touch and works very well. Good submission!

Lasso-Loop Whiplash by Adiwan 2020-10-07T19:29:16Z

Haha, what a great idea! Love that it just looks funny even in a screenshot. A few minor things like dust particles on the horse and maybe some grunts/noises for the sheriff would really increase the level of juice. Nice one!

We need to talk by bereg 2020-10-05T21:37:57Z

Really impressed with this game and overall quality, nice job! It was tight and didn't get too repetitive visually with the spinning wheel and changing camera angles. Wish there were more cards than Manipulative and Comedian though! Solid entry!

F=g(m1m2/d^2) by mungobulge 2020-10-05T17:29:59Z

Didn't really understand how/when to place the asteroid to get it to do what I want since it also drifts? I also feel like movement could have been a bit faster overall. Cool submission!

Danger Beat by rhoff95 2020-10-05T20:46:26Z

This was great, nice one! Very clever to just go back one step every time you are hit. My one complaint is that it was a bit short and not too clear when I had completed the track - I was still looking for records. Great entry!

Loopfield by MikoziQ 2020-10-07T08:01:56Z

Nicely done! I'm not too good though, only got 13290 points! It got quite tricky towards the end. I like the effect on the asteroids when they hit the shield.

The final loop by IndieQuest 2020-10-07T07:49:18Z

Interesting idea! It's very hard though currently. Maybe if the guns aimed a little in front of where the enemies are it would be a bit easier - it's a little annoying that they miss a lot. Also limiting where the alien ship can spawn would be good too. One time it spawned right next the the tower and they damaged it as soon as they got out!

The final loop by IndieQuest 2020-10-07T08:04:06Z

Ah yeah, that makes it a little easier

Hudson by Dharby 2020-10-09T15:25:47Z

Very cool concept! Enjoyed this one a lot. Something that was a little unclear to me at first wast that I had to bring the orb to the slots at the bottom and choose one there. Maybe if there was some pulsing feedback or something to draw the player's attention there once an orb was picked up. Solid work all around!

GHOST FROM JAIL by Gilad Bar Ilan 2020-10-05T21:25:23Z

Nice submission! I didn't really see the need to teleport, but then again my score was only 94 so maybe I could have done better. Liked the music!

Debug.Loop! by Gironimo4 2020-10-05T21:20:39Z

Nice submission! I think you could perhaps have the player moving forward automatically instead of having to hold the button down. I also fell through the floor at one point.

Looped Fellas by BukkakeTears 2020-10-07T07:44:23Z

Cool game, I escaped! The artwork really fit and got the point across, well done!

Looped Fellas by BukkakeTears 2020-10-07T08:19:46Z

@arad-hamidsamiee Gotta go fast!

10 Seconds from Death by brads.space 2020-10-05T16:10:53Z

353 seconds! As what others wrote, level 3 jump was VERY hard. Still don't know how it happened in the end. Love the visual effects, especially with speed. Music is also on point and the level design was solid. Nice one!

Aztec Ride by Idan Rooze 2020-10-08T13:50:06Z

Very cool guys! The audio and art are completely on point. If there's one point of criticism is that I think if there was some interpolation for the camera rotation so that it's not so fixed on the cart, it would make the quick bumps a little less jarring. Nice job!
