Pretty cool mechanic, nice entry!
Well done - pretty tricky!
Nice entry!
Neat game! I think it would be better with a form of healthbar instead of one hit kill
I like the game! It gets hard when you collect too many shields lol. But the game is fun and the sound effects are funny.
I really liked the way you collected and had to fly back, it was a bit difficult to fly, but I think it was me over the controls. The graphics were very good, and particle effects were very nice. Good game!
Graphics are simple, but still very cool. Here's a small suggestion: use one of these screenshots to explain what's fuel and what are enemies. I ran into enemies twice (the red ball and the metalic things) thinking they were collectibles... u.u
Nice unique mechanic. One small bug? when you bring the orb thing to your planet it always spawns from the top killing you if you are on top of planet.
I found turning rate quite frustrating. I didn't realized that forcing enemies to crash on the meteor makes you earn points, a good point for a more challenging gameplay than just chasing some barrels in space.
I didn't read the directions at first and though I could shoot. It makes the game much harder not being able to. It's better that way. Nice work!
Nice, solid game! The gameplay was interesting and could get challenging, and I enjoyed those explosion sound effects a lot!
It's a nice game! I like it, the sound effects were funny! The graphics could use some work but they all fit together!

Fun game, also agree that it wasn't obvious to me what was things to pick up and what were things to kill me, but it doesn't take long to figure out from trial and error. Good job
Built a few games like this myself because I really love them. This was a good take on it, the hit box on the fuel seemed overly large maybe but otherwise I thought it felt pretty good. Nice job!
Thanks to everyone for playing!
First few lives were wasted trying to loot the aliens haha. I'm usually a sucker for games like this but I found the ship a bit slow to control and once you get the shields going the stiff controls make it too hard, for me anyway. Nicely put together though and I like the twinkling stars!
EDIT: My above review was for the HTML version, I've since downloaded it to see if it was more responsive, and it is much better so I have changed my score a bit because it was a lot more fun.
I enjoyed your game. Maybe the game is a little bit too hard. I liked how you almost all the sound with your mouth :). Well done.
Fun! It became impossible, unfortunately, when the game refused to spawn any barrels of fuel and I ran out of power with no chance to save myself
I was a bit confused at first because I didn't know what was safe to pick up and what wasn't. Maybe a little icon of what it looks like next to the text on the introduction page would've made things clearer. Movement is a little tricky, I feel like I would like the ship to rotate a little faster so I can react to the enemies more. I also couldn't quite figure out how to use my shield. Overall, cool game! Nice work
Nice! I liked the mechanics, it has some feel! The difficulty curve is to steep though... Good work! Congrats!
Intresting! I like how the ship didn't have any weapons on it so you had to rely on outpacing the enemies. I also like how collecting those shields make the game easier in the sense that it kills enemies faster but also harder because there is more stuff to dodge! I played a few times and didn't get very far though. I do like how it has the floating, momentum-based movement of space shooter games but I think it would be a little better if it was toned down a little bit as well as turn speed was increased.
Thanks to all that played and provided feedback. I am thinking of continuing development and the feedback really helps!
Very simple, although making enemies to crash instead of shooting is interesting. Some better indication of what is safe and what is not would be great (just change the sprites to be more suggestive.) Steering was challenging, but it's more than OK to me. You could try inventing some additional mechanincs to make game stand out more from asteroids-like games.
Cool twist on the asteroid genre. I laughed at the explosion sound! I'm sad that there was some music in the menu but not in-game though :(
Funny sound effects and challenging gameplay.
Very cool game. Very interesting mechanic. It requires some planning, and thinking ahead. The constant beeping is not annoying for the player, but may disturb people in the same room. I'll probably train an AI on this when I'll have some spare time and cycles, just to see the strategic depth of this game when you got perfect movement control and anticipation. Simple yet effective. Well done!
Very nice gameplay, a bit hard though.
Since you're thinking of continuing development, I have some suggestions: * Have a button for dropping the item you're carrying! * Having many shields it actually prevents you from delivering fuel, maybe they shouldn't collide with you? * The shields shouldn't be placed randomly around the stations. Even having the second one just close to the first one makes your effort go in vain. The new shield should always be placed half way the shortest distance between shields. * There should be a way for a shield to kill inner enemies too ever so often. If you play for a while enemies clog up between the shields and the planet and you are unable to deliver and you are also unable to kite most of them cause the planet prevents them from moving. * How about enemies attacking your planet (stealing fuel) instead of targeting you? :D * Where's the Plasma Weapon? :P
Keep up the good work!
@deadlyalive Thanks for your suggestions! I will definitely consider them, and I did have some of the same ideas for a post-LD release. I'm also thinking of adding different power-ups and different enemy types.
A nice little twist on the classic asteroids-esque gameplay :) Good job!
Nice, but I found the physic of the ship a bit "rigid". I don't really know how to describe it, but I feel there is something missing to make the ship really enjoyable to pilot. If you want to improve your game I suggest that you try tweaking the inertia, thrust, rotation speed and other variables to see if you can improve it, although I don't really know what kind of change would help and it might just be a matter of taste anyway.
The game was fun, but you'd to add in the game or in the ludum dare page screenshots from the game where you explain if we can collect things or not and what are the enemies. Also I recommand you to add collectibles, it have no reason, but people love to collect things even if they don't do anything with it. Otherwise, well done, good entry !
I really like the twist of having the plasma balls destroy the alien ships! I found that they looked too similar to the shield power ups, which was confusing at first, and I also found it a little difficult to get to the power-ups in time. Nice challenging game!
Interesting game, with a cool concept. It was interesting the collect and go back mechanic, however I felt the controls were a little bit hard to drive the ship. I also missed the back arrow to make the ship go back, it would be helfpul. The minimalist graphics were a great match to the game. Also, did you make the sound effects with your voice? It was really funny. Good work overall :)
I thought this game was really fun. I liked using the moons to kill the enemies. It reminded me of the last LDJam which was "A Small World". I wish the moons didn't blow up my ship, since getting more moons seems to make the game more difficult. I had six going at one time on my last game and my total score was 70. I liked how the core of the planet changed color based on the amount of shields left. I would suggest using smooth shading on the enemy mines and on the earth as well. I really liked the sound effects! A little bit of music would help.
