This is fantastic! I love the humor, and the puzzles are interesting.
I'm stuck in the maze though... dragging my character over the key won't pick it up :(

@james-greenleaf Sorry, I should have made that possible too! You actually have to drag the key onto your character to pick up the key (as it says in the box) :)
Edit: I did fix this just now for the sake of convenience (although it's technically not a completely game-breaking bug).
Great entry ! consistent graphics and original environment !
Extremely good but some of the puzzles i didn't get. The one with the paradox i shook left and right and it didn't do anything and the one where you had to spam buttons seems impossible to complete. Still this is one of my favorite entries.
Really cool game, loved the theme of navigating a computer with tons of popup windows.
Very original! One of the most outstanding ones I played so far!
Very nice puzzle game. I also got stuck in a maze, I enter a door and the character disappears... no more windows open. UPDATE: I manage to get out of the maze (with only 1 key), but the paradox puzzle stuck me :( it's the last one. I tried shaking the windows with the mouse right and left, but it is doing nothing :( SECOND UPDATE: I got it :) very nice
The game seems fantastic but i just got stuck on the maze with the right and left doors. I entered the bottom left trapdoor on the Key room and my character just vanished :( Now I cannot move anywhere nor close this puzzle.
Damn was it a good game :) I'm still wondering what I missed, I should play again sometimes ! (Please don't spoil anything, want to find out alone :D)
Very nice game. I loved the 90's feel with all of those windows opened! Nice ambience, graphics and sound. You did a great job! Congratulations!
Solid game, nice modern-retro feel, good music. Overall one of the best games from jam. I'm not sure where to write in the code I got in the ending.
@stracker, @connor-hagan, @jasperdev Thanks :)
@rogue-studios So with `shake0.pzl` you were shaking the wrong thing :) And yeah, `rapid0.pzl` can be difficult, especially on a trackpad (even though I didn't develop or test the game with a mouse). You could try the other version, there might be some framerate issues (as in, running faster than intended :D)
@simone There is only one key :) And I'm glad you got it in the end :D
@rulojuka Yeah, the bottom left trapdoor was a bug, sorry!
@sokette No spoilers :)
@xsior Thanks. Codes are entered on the ending screen.
I haven't played completely through yet (maybe 70%, gonna finish it in the evening), I just wanted to leave some feedback about how much I liked this game. Very very well done! The "repair, fix, mend..." klicker was brutal to overcome on a touchpad though. And I haven't yet figured out how to solve the riddle where you need to shake you head, maybe trying it with an actual mouse will help or I'm just too dense to understand it right now. Anyway: great game! :)
Absolutely loved this game! Using the OS UI-type environment to navigate the world was so original, and the puzzles were well designed for such a short amount of time. You managed to explore many different puzzle mechanics, and some of them made me actually laugh, like the nodding your head one! :)
This game takes it all in innovation. The soundtrack was cool, and the graphics went well with everything, but it's clear where you devoted most of your time. Loved the game, great job!
Haven't managed to get the good ending, not sure what to do in my office or in the 4th floor with the shadow. Maybe I'll keep trying.
not normally into text games but this was pretty fun!
Ok, this game really shines in innovation, that's certain. Lots of funny stuff and enough different puzzle mechanics to keep things interesting, very well done!
Very nice game! Loved the atmosphere and the concept in itself. Great job!
Hats off to you. Really innovative, and awesome game. The idea, execution everything is phenomenal. The reset, lockpzl4 is quite challenging, I have still not completed it. I see you got some inspiration from r/programmerhumor , right? P.S. : Loved the stream
Insanely good. Looks good, sounds good, plays good. Innovative, unique, follows the theme in an interesting way. Nothing else to say except for well done.
PERFEect RATINGS FOR YOU
This was really fun! The puzzles were clever and the game was pretty polished. Very impressive!
Great game! I really enjoyed the puzzles. But I wonder what I should have found...
In the JS version on Chrome you can't double click (probably due to the frame rate issue).
Incredibly good game with quality graphics, audio, and gameplay. I'm impressed by what you got completed. Congratulations!
I liked the 90s aesthetic, and it was good to see a story to link all of the puzzles together.
Great game! Really funny, and I liked the whole using an OS concept a lot. I got stuck in a lock because I closed the window with the key and couldn't find a way to get to that window again.
Great game, I liked the graphics and the gameplay, continues to make games
LOVE THE GAME only one thing to say about the music that was anoying
Outstanding entry. I was so close to getting the good ending the first time, but missed something obvious - thank you for letting me go back and find it! This was incredibly polished and a joy to play - nice puzzles, great sense of humor, and unique, consistent style. Everything was clearly laid out / explained, so no frustrations. Thank you!
:3
@udo I was a bit worried about that, though I did develop the game using only a trackpad (so the speed seemed reasonable to me). The JS version might behave slightly differently on that puzzle, see if playing the other version helps.
@kapricorn-media Thanks! As it says in the ending, don't expect too much from the "good endings" – they really are just glorified easter eggs :)
@blksocks @devastus @pixelformedstudios @omriysh @remzo @mack101dog @badly-drawn-rod @lamm @baconsenpaii Thanks!
@freedom-is-slavery Haha, I didn't realise at the time, but yes, the idea was to have progressively more and more indirect controls in the `lockpk` series :)
@lerpish Thanks, it was fun watching you play my game!
@smbe19 Yeah, I would recommend playing the JS version in Firefox. I've seen some streamers play the JS version in Chrome without any problems, but I guess it's not 100% reliable.
@rijnswand Thanks :) You can get back to the inventory by double-clicking your character, but oh well :) I could have made the inventory window uncloseable.
@krathya Thanks :D … I guess the music is not for everyone – I did include a music volume slider in the settings though.
@pilly Yeah, it would be too annoying to expect players to go through the entire game once again just to get the two little silly things :)
This is awesome! Fun to play and has beautiful old Windows style graphics. The music is nice and creates a great mood, puzzles are interesting and not too hard to figure out. The plot is interesting as well. Everything in Batterycorp fits together very well.
**First of all:** My god... how long did this UI and such take you to make? it's incredible
**Overall game impression:** Definitely a 5/5 game. The gameplay is very unique, not something I've seen. Very cool idea to make it windows based hahah xD i really enjoyed the gameplay and graphics. So many different and unique levels and puzzle ideas and text dialogues I'm SUPER IMPRESSED! it's really cool having so much variety to gameplay. I think you did an outstanding job. This game was really impressive and fun with a lot of different mechanics and varieties of gameplay. It never got boring
**Suggestions and comments on improvement:** Accessing inventory wasn't really obvious. Besides that I can't think of any other fixes / changes I'd like to see, I think the game is perfect.
Great game! Very original approach to the theme. Really liked the art and gameplay. Congratulations :)
I loved this game. Some of the puzzles were somewhat frustrating (especially the one with pulls that returned back down), found two extras, got a good ending, not sure how many there may be as the phone mentioned not finding two. Are there four actually or did I get a wrong final scene?
Anyway, thanks, was a pleasure to play and bring some more. :)
A really nice game with several puzzles, and a good story too.
Also nice graphics and music. And I've played some of your other LD games before, and I like this one a lot. Somehow this one clicked with the story than say R. Lastey.
This one is really good! I hope it ends up high.
Very unusual game. That's a good point. :smile:
Love the graphics! Very good entry! You should be proud! (HellowPixl)
It's a very cool game! It's a nice cimbination of puzzles and story. I like the variety of puzzles and the secret ending :) some of them are really tricky, so thumbs up for that.
The Power LEEK got me. Very solid and fun :D The story rulez.
Late reply but … :)
@pio @vasco-rodrigues @bombjack @c0nst4ntin @axoona @pcmaster Thank you for playing!
@vkmicro I agree, I should have made the inventory not closeable … It does say in the instructions that you can double click yourself to open the inventory, but I've watched a number of people play the game and pay absolutely 0 attention to those particular instructions :D
@eremiell There are *technically* 4 endings … However, the last two are just additional "screens" you can access from the good ending. Congratulations on getting the good ending, you weren't missing much with the extra two :)
@g12345 Always nice to see a fan :D (don't have many yet) Yes, with this one I did try to make the puzzles meaningfully accomplish something in the story (i.e. fixing fuseboxes). In R. Lastey they were there but apart from the alphabet puzzle there was not much connection between what the player was doing and what the puzzles were like. Thanks for your support :)
And one last thank you to everyone who played / rated this game, I'm very happy with the ratings. See you in December! :)
Very clever, well made game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 39 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zttkWtUJU-8
